Breakfast was an add on that we opted out of, so cannot comment on that. But the location was close to the square and convenient to everything we needed. The hotel is down a very tight alley, so the taxi dropoff and pickup are a bit of a walk to a wider street - this wasn't an issue for us, but note it in case. Would stay again.

Amazing place to stay. Very comfortable room overlooking a nice garden with outside patio although it was late Feb when we were there and raining and cool so couldn’t use the outdoor facilities. Staff were amazing and very helpful with information. Arranged a cab to the bus terminal for us and it was an easy walk to every where. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Super close to the main centre of town, and quite large room. Thought folks were being picky about complaining about the shower but the water really did run everywhere and I needed two towels to soak up the water after a fairly quick shower. The area initially seemed really quiet as it’s a very small street with seemingly nothing directly nearby, but I kept being woken up between 2-5am by groups of drunk folks walking by singing or talking really loudly. I was woken up at least 4 separate times during that timeframe and I’m usually a fairly heavy sleeper. I imagine this was made worse by the fact that my room was basically a basement, so the window was directly at street level, and since the alley is so small, the noise must just get amplified a ton. This was mid-December when the town seemed pretty dead so I can only imagine it’s much worse during tourist season. Wish there had been a dead bolt or some kind of security feature on the door because some of the drunk groups seemed a little aggressive and as a solo female traveler, would’ve liked a bit more peace of mind on that end, especially since the door itself seemed to almost not fully close (I think this was just the visual design of it, not an actual fault with the closing/locking mechanism, but again, some kind of extra lock would’ve been nice.) Overall fine for a one night stay and ridiculously cheap so can’t complain too much.

Overall, property is great. But we rented a car and it was impossible for us to go through the narrow road at Sharp 90° turn to get to the hotel to unload our luggage. So we had to find a public parking lot where we could park the car overnight, which was another fiasco was more parking lots catered to the residence around them and had very limited overnight parking. We had to do many loops around the inner cities going from parking lot to parking lot until we found one took us over an hour just to find parking. Since we had luggage and it was too far for us to drag the luggage on the cobblestone roads, we had to take an Uber that could get us close to the hotel.. the Uber had the same issue as it could not drop us to front of the hotel because of the narrow 90° sharp turn. There is parking on the main street close to the hotel however it just depends on your luck if you find anything there because that’s what the patron of the local shops along that street use.

The property was hard to find. Because of a narrow street and sharp turn, it was almost impossible to drive to. The parking was nonexistent.
The breakfast was poor. Our first room was so small, it was impossible to fully open our suitcase. The second room, which we got by complaining about the first room, was bigger but noisy.

Único ponto positivo foi a localização central, para andar a pé. Mas para chegar de carro é horrível!!! A entrada é por uma viela minúscula e quase entalamos a van para virar no final dela. Levamos uns 20 minutos manobrando e rezando. Foi apavorante. No check-in, o primeiro recepcionista foi meio rude e não muito prestativo. Após descarregar as malas tivemos que tirar a van e procurar estacionamento fora das muralhas. O quarto não era no edifício principal do hotel mas sim em outra ruazinha mais adiante. Ficamos no andar de cima e não tinha elevador. Quarto pequeno, bem simples. O colchão não tinha mais que 8cm. A mesinha de cabeceira tombou pois o pé estava quebrado. O único ponto de tomadas no quarto ficava longe da cama. O banheiro era simples e mal conservado, com azulejos quebrados e exaustor barulhento. O Hotel foi uma decepção, muito caro pelo que oferece. Não merece 3 estrelas.

The room was fine. Do not drink the water from the tap, because apparently, it's not drinkable due to the chemicals they use to treat it. They only gave us a small bottle of water, which is included on the first night only.

Comfortable hotel not far from the centre of Evora. We stayed in a room around the corner from the main hotel. Room was a good size for a couple and enough space for toddler to run around. Breakfast was adequate. Staff friendly and helpful. Location good. In the walled city and not far from the main square with restaurants and shops.

Small Room but Sweet Hotel

Very nice, but cramped. Bed was wayyyy to big for the room so there was really no room at all to move around. That being said, the rest was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff and very convenient location. Streets are really narrow and parking isn’t easy but we found a lot not too far away for 13 euros over night. Loved the town!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, although there were some issues with the room. Plugging in my phone to recharge caused a circuit breaker to trip and they had to hunt around to find it. Later that evening it happened again as I was reading in bed and then power came back a few minutes later. I got the impression this was a common occurrence. On the second day they forgot to leave me towels after cleaning the room, and there was very limited hot water. It's a basic place with some issues but if you can roll with it, definitely a good bargain for something so central.

Very difficult to find, must walk 120 meters from street park( if lucky) to lobby. We had NO hot water for shower, barely luckewarm. Not possible to heat bathroom either as heatpump is facing away from it, ceramic floors☃️ Comfortable bed, but NO extra pillows or blankets. Good continental breakfast. Very central location.front desk staff ok.

I stayed in two Stay Hotels during my travels in Portugal. The staff in this one told me that this hotel has only been a Stay Hotel for a year and it still needed some work to upgrade. This was obvious in the room itself, which although I'd asked for a non-smoking room smelled like smoke and in which the carpet and furniture was not up to the Stay standards I experienced at their Trindade hotel in Porto.

Nonetheless, the hotel is really well located and the perfect spot for an home base to see Evora. They staff were able to answer my questions about what to see and do and to make recommendations on where to find vegetarian food in this very small town.

My one complaint about Stay is that for the price I paid, I would have thought that my breakfast would be included, but it was not and what was offered did not in any way justify the 7 Euros they wanted me to pay.

Stayed in Evora so that we could visit Lisbon by train (although Evora is a very nice place to visit in itself). The hotel couldn't be in a better location - right in the centre. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable. We had no problem with parking since there were a couple of spaces available. That said - we were there in April so perhaps it's more tricky in high season. Even so there are a few car parks not too far away. We had breakfast at the hotel which was nothing special, but convenient. If you have the time I'd try some of the local restaurants (or pastelarias) for something a bit better. There must be a couple of dozen restaurants within a few minutes walk so you're spoilt for choice for eating in the evening.

Just like their motto says, the Stay Hotel is just what you need. Very clean and new. Small room with a big bed. Wonderful location in the heart of Old Town. Look for their sign on the main street, but the entrance is on the back on a minor street.

Lovely modern hotel in a historic setting

Lucked out with a hotel parking space near hotel that was vacated just as we arrived. Otherwise would have had to park outside the city walls and drag our suitcases some 15 minutes over cobblestone roads and narrow or non-existing sidewalks. Staff was very welcoming and helpful, adjusting the breakfast offerings to meet my dietary requirements.

We had a good 2 night visit at the Stay Hotel Evora. It is located convenient to the main square and most historical sites of Evora, as well as to the bus station. Rooms were clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good.

Very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, good variety of food for breakfast (all of which looked fresh) served till midday and the room was in good condition.
The only downside was the lack of power socket next to the bed to charge phone (only visible sockets were by the TV in front of the bed) and the room light was in front of the bathroom not at the centre of the bedroom which made the room very dark if curtains were closed.
The fresh bottle of water left in the room every day was very much appreciated though!

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The name of the hotel had changed but not the notifications on the streets etc so a bit of a challenge to find, as the signage on the streets still stay Santa Clara. Staff was exceptional and rooms clean. Breakfast the next morning was fine. Centrally located. I would stay again.

The continental breakfast was fine, except the coffee was cold (There was no problem to have it reheated in the microwave but it is not the same).

The half truth hotel

There is little resemblance between the description and reality.
The hotel claims to have self parking. Well ... they have 9 parking places, way below the number of guests. So they have sent me to park 10 min away.
They also claim to have a lift. Well ... there was no lift in the building I have stayed, so I had to carry my luggage 2 floors up. In case you are wondering- we are 65yr old.
Also the street of the hotel entrance is so narrow that my wife had to help me with the navigation. The marks on the wall show that others had failed there. So be carefull with your rented car.
The highlight was that we have found excrement in the bathroom floor when we entered the room.
To sum up I would suggest avoiding the dissapointment and look for another place.

being in old town proved quite interesting.

Centrally located in the historic centre of Evora, the Santa Clara is quiet and elegant, affording all the amenities one could want or find necessary. Provided with parking in an area where one ways are rather complicated, it is better to contact the hotel before arriving and the rest should be trouble free.

This hotel is great for a short stay in Evora. It's a good price and has basic necessities. Only complaint is wifi wasn't working in the room (but it was working in the bar area) during my stay but we were only there for a night so it wasn't that big of a hassle.

Evora city centre hideaway

Santa Clara is an old bulding near the central square in Evora's old city, so could not be better placed for city sights restuarants etc.However this closeness has its problems in locating the hotel when we tried to reach it using a sat nav we found the lane totally blocked by builders rubbish vans and equipment.
This meant a drive out of the city walls and back in again via narrow streets. Additionally the hotel only has a few parking spots (free) so if you are late you may have to park at a distance. The rooms are small but comfortable and quiet even though it is close to the centre. Would stay here again great location.
