When I first pulled into Gallop’s parking lot I wasn’t sure where the hotel was. The staff was helpful, courteous and professional. The room was large and very clean. I am quite impressed and plan to stay again, next time I am in town. I do highly recommend this hotel. Parking is plenty. There’s a Mexican Restaurant attached., but did not have an opportunity to try that. I am pleasantly pleased with the entire experience.

If you didn't know Gallops had a motel above the store, well neither did I! I will start by saying I didn't know they would be charging an additional $150 on top of the $100 for the room, with the promise of returning it in 4-5 business days if the room was clean and orderly. We had the extra but in case others don't, remember that. Anyways, the guys behind the counter were fine. Some were a little hard to understand but we got checked in and up to the room. The room was spotless. It's weird because it's concrete with a rug but it's cleaner that way because there's no carpet, no place for dirt or bugs to hide. The shower was huge and has a waterfall feature with GREAT water pressure. It's mostly quiet until the wee morning hours then I swear you can hear every phone alarm go off on the entire floor. That didn't ruin it for me. You got an IHOP and Mexican restaurant and convenience store a few steps from you. The store itself is impressively stocked, boiled peanuts, fresh pizza, coffee, nachos and cheese, toys, candy, novelty things, household stuff, car stuff. And they have some arcade games down there, too. Really neat lil place and not too many people know about it. I would recommend it to anyone who is passing by.

It did take about 10 minutes for someone to come check us in. But other than that, no complaints. It’s kind of a unique setting, as the motel is one portion of a very large building that also houses a restaurant, liquor store and a humongous “convenience” type store. That building from the outside is built to sort of resemble a castle, which is kind of fun…

It would be nice if there were some clear signs telling you where to go in to check in for the motel. Also , the rain shower was quite weird and sprayed in many different directions. But the man at the desk was very kind when we left. His name is escaping me. It was unique.

This was my first visit and I wasn't aware of all the attached buildings like the party store with huge display of alcoholic drinks and many many choices for foods at a counter or vending machines. There is no hotel lobby and the check in counter is displayed among a counter for the general facility. The only reason I didn't mark excellent is that there was no outside sign among a number of doors to show entrance to motel. There was a huge sign with an arrow and word Diesel plus other doors marked party store or other names. Once inside no problem but it was a great mystery where to enter plus the huge building looks like a wide large castle. No complaints otherwise. Very reasonable price and for me within 20 minutes to Waterloo Amtrak station

What a hidden gem! This hotel is super clean and comfortable, and the huge convenience store and Mexican restaurant on site make leaving once you arrive completely unnecessary. The owners have obviously given thought to what makes an overnight stay comfortable - an ultra-clean and quiet room, blackout shades, plush towels and bedding, comfortable mattresses, good quality coffee, and a hot rain shower to boot!

This is an “all in one” place to stay. The rooms are large, clean, and well maintained with WiFi easily available. A large convenience store is on site. Fuel is also on site. Other amenities are also available. The staff was courteous and easily available. Vivec, who was responsible for the rooms, asked to be sure everything was good with our stay and asked for any recommendations for improvements. Would definitely stay at this facility again.

I mean…a motel located above and inside a truck stop? This place was perfect for the prize and location. Came here for two nights for a running race and I was blown away. It had great reviews so I was hopeful. Vivek helped me check and made it super easy.

The room was SPACIOUS! It was clean, had shampoo , conditioner and body wash. What motel does that? A microwave, candy, water and coffee.

Honestly I would come back again and again. The size of the room alone was amazing. Two shower heads in the shower was a plus. Parking right outside and a convenience store just downstairs! Perfect!

This is a unique gem, neat theme, absolutely massive store like a Love's or Buccees, but has 11 rooms attached. Free parking for the weary traveler, safe and well lit, and fully stocked with food, beer, liquor, and a walk in humidor! They have arcade games and a pool table. The rooms are massive and you will be speechless at what you get for the price. Lastly, the beds...you'll sleep better than at home, they will satisfy anyone. The TVs are not as big as they should be, and the wifi is a bit weak, probably because again the basic room is bigger than most 1 bed apartments! The wifi password isn't shown anywhere and I hope they get those little paper sleeves for the room cards and put it on there. I simply called the front desk and a kind gentleman quickly answered. What can I say for the price, this place is GEM STATUS! The attached fueling station, the overhead pavilion and pumps are like I have never seen, it's in the shape of a horseshoe! 10/10 Guys, just book it!

This is one of those special finds that makes you wish for one at every travel destination. Our room was exceptionally tidy, roomy, and comfortable. Worth mentioning is the seeming lack of sound insulation from room to room; though some might find it to be a problem, it gave us no issue at all and we would happily stay again. Parking is a bit awkward to figure out at first but it's fittingly unique from other motels. Again, the parking gave us no trouble at all once we learned our way around. Our staff were very kind and helpful and Vivek was diligent in ensuring our stay went well. The rooms sit atop one of the greatest convenience stores I've ever been in which we found to be very handy. We look forward very much to our next stay here!

The staff were very friendly. In fact, as a senior citizen and a recent knee replacement, I felt hobbled in the morning., and when the young clerk saw me as we were leaving, he came and offered his arm, walking me to our car. (my husband was handling our luggage.) Our rooms were large and very clean, with a television in the bedroom as well as in the sitting room. The only thing I didn't like was the cement floors with area rugs, simply because as a senior citizen, cement floors are hard on my old joints.

Everyone was was nice, especially the man who bandaged my husband's arm after falling in the shower. Please beware when you first walk into the shower by the door, and there are no grab bars. The room was nice and larger than any we have stayed in. Overall, it was a good room except for my husbands fall. I suggest you at least put in grab bars.

This place is phenomenal for the price. I’ve stayed in 200+ hotels all over the U.S. (Large majority in the Midwest) and for the price point, I haven’t found a better hotel. Exceptionally clean, easy parking, easy in and out, solid staff. The first floor is a ginormous liquor store with good prices and good selection, which doubles as a convenience store with everything you need. There’s an interior smoke shop, a pool table, ready to eat food, arcade machines, a lottery machine, and all kinds of other novelty purchases at a solid price. Very satisfied with the property conditions and amenities for the price. Will stay here every time I’m even close to the area.

Let's point out several things. First, the property is basically in a truck fueling facility. This is not an independently unattached motel. Second, the rooms are especially large. Third, the floor in the rooms are concrete and thus the sound travels more fluidly. Lastly, the walls are paper thin, you can hear conversations next door, if you happen to have people next door.

The price is very appealing. There you have it. A study in contrasts.

No going to lie. This place is weird. It's in a gas station. I want to be mad at it. But also, it was a cheap price for a really great shower and very comfy and clean bed. The flooring is weird and I had to unplug 2 air fresheners in the room that were total overkill.
But it was clean and comfortable, so I can't complain about having a gas station that feels like Las Vegas at the bottom of the elevator.

I felt safe at this location, though it wasn't in the main area of town. The convenience store below the rooms had a great variety of foods available. We were also able to order our food from local restaurants.

The rooms are big, comfortable and mostly quiet, we were only woken once from a noisy neighbor.

There were only a few things I didn't like about the room. First, the towels are WAY too small, plus there were no wash clothes in our room. I don't use them and my husband didn't want to ask for them.

It would be nice to have a makeup mirror in the bathroom or by the entryway mirror as it would greatly help applying ones makeup.

The other thing that the room could use is a luggage rack, I had to use the desk area.

Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay, the staff were polite and helpful and the parking was great.

Exceptionally clean room, stocked with everything we needed!!! Friendly staff, especially Vivek…he was very helpful with anything we needed!!! Comfortable beds and chairs. Recently remodeled including a rain shower head in the shower. Decor was done very well.
Close to Shipshewana and other attractions. Liquor store, convenience store and gas station with a few games like pool, basketball and arcade games in the same building! IHOP is permanently closed but a new Crunchy Chicken restaurant is coming soon!

The room was huge with a huge bathroom as well! It had a walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head and regular shower head for personal choice. The rainfall shower head was so relaxing and unique to anywhere else I have stayed! The room was clean, neat and organized! All of this is extremely surprising given that it is behind a gas station and above a party store. Only recommendations I would have are to put non-slip strips or something on the shower floor as it is very slippery, and to put a sign above the door where you go to check-in to make it easier to find. That part was very frustrating. But overall, will definitely stay again!

Facility was clean. It's sort of a truck stop but was good. I was travelling alone and was there for 4 nights. There was initially 2 sets of towels in the bathroom. After 2 nights the room wasn't serviced which isn't a big deal except that I didn't get any fresh towels. After 2 trips to the desk and getting told they needed to wait for another person to be there by 2 different people I gave up. Just hung my existing towels on a rack to dry for another use.

Very interesting place. Check-in was quick, all of the facilities staff were friendly, open to conversation and accommodating. Vivek was especially helpful, very congenial and always asked if we needed anything during our four night stay whenever he came across us as we went out and came back in. Vivek's disposition is remarkable and his understanding of customer service is superior. Room was exceptionally large, bed was extremely comfortable, shower was huge and everything was extraordinarily clean. Hotel rooms are located on the second floor with both elevator and stairs. The ground floor is an enormous convenience store that has everything under the sun that one could possibly want or need. There's even a walk-in humidor with a decent selection of cigars. I was even able to purchase Djarum while there. They also carry imported, genuine Indian incense in an array of varieties Immediately adjacent is the most incredible liquor-spirit-wine-champagne-beer-ale emporium I have ever been in. Walked in by mistake and was blown away by the array of alcoholic beverages available. I have never seen anything like it in my life and probably never will again. Absolutely incredible.

Clean large room with comfortable bed. Room was not well sound proofed; voices and doors closing late at night woke me. To be fair, the people I herd were arguing and being loader than necessary. I've stayed there before and had a good nights rest. No wifi was available. I had to use a hot spot on my phone. When I asked for the password, the staff said there was a public network that did not require a password. Only a protected connection was available.

The rooms all have huge showers with handheld and rain style both available. Rooms are always clean and 2 water bottles and kcups and keruig in each room. Beds extremely comfortable & staff is always kind. I have had to check in at all linds of times at night depending what time i get to the area, and they are always quick and friendly. This is the best place to stay, feels like home. Rooms are above gas station, the gas station is open 24 hours.
