When we visit family in Auburn, we always stay here. One thing we missed was the pool not being opened. That was a big disappointment considering the hot days. Otherwise everything was good.

Our room was very clean. The hotel had a nostalgic vibe. The bath would have been nicer if it had a hand held shower, along with a shower head. The breakfast was ok. The staff were helpful and nice.
Sara
Beds were very comfortable! Would stay again. Breakfast was ok, your average. Stayed 2 nights.
Brenda
They were very friendly. The place was clean and cozy. I was impressed how nice it was. Always there to answer and help. Breakfast was excellent
Ricca
The hotel has no elevator so not recommended for family with kids. Breakfast was okay but not a lot of space. Front desk staff who checked us in gave us the best customer service experience but the staff who was dealing with the breakfast was just okay.
Donett
If you are car family, this is place to stay. Very easy check-in. Close to restaurants.
Gerald
Our 2-night stay was pleasant. I was especially pleased the room was serviced after our first night, which is not always the case due to hiring difficulties. But understand this is a very old facility and is not fully compliant with the needs of seniors or the handicapped. The first hurdle is the front stairs. There are 4 steps up to the front door. Next problem comes the front door. It is am old wood front door more like you have on your home than the automatic doors available in more modern facilities. You need to turn the doorknob to enter which poses a problem if both of your hands are full, Once you enter you find yourself in a small entry way and a few more stairs. In the entryway are two hotel-style carts which seem to be a nice idea until you try to use one.
After loading the cart you are faced with your next hurdle. To enter the lobby you need to turn the knob on the second door to open it. It has a closer on it which provides some resistance to opening and keeping it open. It poses a real challenge especially if you are alone, Also, the threshold has not been updated to accommodate the cart getting the heavy cart over it while pushing on the door to keep it from interfering with the cart is difficult even for the able-bodied.
Once inside, the old lobby is pleasant looking. The guest rooms are modern. The staff is helpful, and, at the end of the first day, I was delighted to see that our room had been serviced; something less common elsewhere.

Older building with local character with smoking and nonsmoking porches. Rooms are being updated with tall toilets and new sinks.

We had a nice one night stay. Bed was comfortable. Area was quiet despite being close to the highway. Would stay here again.
Anthony
Rooms need remodeled and carpets need changed. As you walk in the cigarette smell was over powering

Decent place to stay the night. Clean. Breakfast more than continental, but nothing special. Did the trick.

Nice and easy
Keith
I liked the room for its cleanliness and comfortable bed. The lady clerk was helpful and informed me of necessary things to know including breakfast time. Breakfast was adequate and delicious with even hard boiled eggs in addition to scrambled eggs and sausage links. I also liked their bagels and yogurt. There was option to make waffles. Coffee here is available 24/7; nice amenity while other motels are cutting back. Customers need to be forewarned that there is no elevator and no ramp in front( only steps) which can be difficult for those with mobility problems. Also be aware of bathtub shower to navigate carefully for elderly folks. There is a handbar to hold onto but bathtub surface can be slippery. Overall this is a great place to stay on a budget and at a quiet location near an Aldi.
Shani
It’s been my best stay, the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful so much to choose from.
Megan
A clean comfy bed, nice shower, and hot breakfast is all we need... convenient location to top it off. We'll be back!
Michael
Great room for the money. The cleanest room and property I have ever seen for the price.
Christopher
Room was nice and clean as always. I routinely stay here because of the welcoming atmosphere, location, and overall experience with this great old hotel. Highly recommend!
Donna
Second time staying here. Staff friendly, rooms clean
William
This used to be a favorite stop however they no longer have in room coffee makers. You have to wait until the breakfast area opens at 6am. Since my last stay they also discontinued bar soap in the room. Everything is liquid in dispensers mounted on the wall. The quality of the stay has been diminished and I will no longer consider the property in the future. Very disappointing compared to the way it used to be.
Linnea
It was extremly noisy. Road noise was high, neighbors next to our room and upstairs were very noisy. thin walls and ceilings. For breakfast, powdered eggs and very salty sausage. Could do better! Exhaust fan in the bathroom and the light in the bathroom not working or soo noisy. Bed was very comfortable.
Lance
Everything was quite exceptional.

Everything was as advertised. The breakfast was very good and shopping close. The only concern was the ability to find the hotel. GPS will take you to the address area but the building is off the road. Not enough signs to lead you.
Patti
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, but the property itself needs better cleaning and maintenance. Our towels had holes in them, the bathroom had a very strong weed odor, the hallways smelled like cigarettes, and the fitness room was messy and had an unpleasant smell.
April
Breakfast was made fresh. It was a very quaint hotel, but I would definitely stay again.
RICHARD
Very cute decore themed on antique cars (Auburn). Very comfy lobby, as were the porch smoking areas. Rooms were nice. HVAC and fan worked properly, with no strange noises. Nice selection on large TV. Made up the rooms daily!!! Applebee's and a deli right around the corner, withing walking distance.
J. Alan
The room was clean and staff was very helpful. All in all a great stay for the price.
Bonnie
Nice place with a lot of history. Clean rooms and a pretty good breakfast.
Carly
Love this hotel
Jill
Continues to have a quaint setting.

The property is nostalgic and modern at the same time. Stepping into it was a blast from the past showing amazing craftsmanship and historic charm. There are plenty of walkable restaurants or stores, if necessary. It's right next to the freeway and very accessible. The room was clean and the amenities were as expected. The staff was extremely nice, and knowledgeable about the area. My only very small complaint, are the potholes in and around the parking lot.
Ryan
Hotel staff was top notch. Hotel itself is older in a good way. Location is great with plenty of stuff with in walking distance
Beverly
Our son is going to be attending Trine University and we have stayed here 3 times. Our rooms have always been clean, beds comfortable, and the employees friendly. The breakfast isn't anything fancy but it's decent. The price is right.
Jama
My go to hotel when visiting family in the area. Unique experience
Donna
We were so impressed with this quaint hotel - Staff was exceptionally peasant - free coffee 24/7 - breakfast was basic but surprised at the value of the room that breakfast was even included. Bed very comfortable with nice desk and chair and comfortable side chair. Shower was very nice.
Keith
I had a late arrival and was greeted at the desk and given a first floor room. I liked that the man was friendly and present. He reminded me of breakfast at 6. The entrance area is unique with an older home look (but not dated and worn) welcoming preparation of furniture and array. Then at breakfast I liked their choice of hard boiled eggs. It was a basic breakfast and had adequate healthy foods and some other items that were extras like bagels and cream cheese spread. The bedroom was clean and quiet with comfortable bed that I slept in well.
Terry
The breakfast menu was OK. The room was relatively clean. I would consider staying that this hotel again, knowing the condition of the property. There Is no visible disable access. Have t(just after my surgery) I would not have been able to navigate the stairs.
Laura
Air worked well
Landon
Very clean rooms. Enjoyed 1 night stay while on a work trip
Dameun
The room and property were A1 as always but they front desk lady put me in a room that when we walked in smelled a chemicals so bad that was giving us my grandkid open the windows and everything and then she told her she could move us those clear to the other side after it already been there for a few hours and got established because they had redone the shower and we couldn't shower so that was kind of a let down to go through all that and switching and all that
Susan
Room was decent but the overall grounds are dilapidated. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was tolerable.
Kaylie
Wonderful experience!
Susan
It's definitely an older hotel, but very well kept and the room was pleasant and comfortable. Great for an overnight stay!
Judy

There was a dity Q tip obove the door and the outlets on the lamps did not work had to use wall outlets. Other than that would stay again.
Kevin
We've stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years. Unfortunately, there has been a steady decline in the general upkeep, cleanliness and breakfast quality. The first room we entered had an bad odor so we requested a new room. The staff graciously switched us into a different room which smelled ok and appeared to be cleaner. After moving our stuff in, we noticed damage to the walls, door frames and even dried boogers on a wall. The bathroom tile and walls had been repaired but the quality of the repairs was lacking. Overall all grime in the wall cracks and around the tub was substandard. However, beds were clean and comfortable. The breakfast options in the morning were sub par. No ingredients on the small yogurt packages, no dates on the wrapped bagels, sandwiches, etc., eggs were grainy and watery and the breakfast sausage looked bleak. Thankfully there was a waffle making machine and some prepacked jelly containers. In my opinion, the lower price was a great value in the past but now it reflects the quality of the stay. There are better value options in town and unfortunately, we don't plan on booking a stay in the future.

Very clean, good attention good location, the only detail was that the room that was assigned to me was heard a lot the noise of the vehicles passing on the road., next week I'm going to have a room in a better place.
Ivan
We love the old fashion feel of the hotel.

What an unexpected surprise! We were looking for a clean bed while traveling. What we found was a cool hotel that was built in the late 1800's (It is well maintained). Clean, and comfy. Staff was very personable. Cozy atmosphere. Easy access to I69, and just on the edge of town... yet tucked off the main strip far enough that is was quiet and peaceful.
I will be staying here the next time I come through town.

Staff and hotel has always been amazing and is my go to place to stay in Auburn…
Dustin
I have stayed here for a November event every year the last three years, and I have never been disappointed. Convenient location, nostalgic look but modern amenities, consistently great staff. The room I got this year is in need of maybe some small maintenance, as the toilet handle was slightly loose and the shower head was loose when adjusting to massage (although I fixed that myself). I will 100% be back next year.

Extremely courteous check-in attendant (may have been the manager). Everything inside was immaculate: spotless bathroom, clean carpets, not stale-smelling as some older properties can be. My only ‘less than smiley face’ would be regarding the exterior upkeep. It seems each time I stay there is less attention paid to the outside of the property. I feel like this is overlooked by a lot of hotel owners, and I hate to see it happening to such a cozy little property like this one.

This was probably the coolest little place I have stayed at in a long time. Very immaculate and spotlessly clean. Quaint little layout with an authentic atmosphere. Lots of old pictures on the walls and just very nice. The room was clean and the bedding was high quality. Centrally located close to everything. Felt very safe and comfortable here.
Glenn
Courteous staff on check-in. Clean room. Could have added an alarm clock for convenience but wake-up call worked.
Trusten
Very pleasant staff.
Tammy
The room was beautiful. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous with 2 screened in porch areas that are so relaxing. Employees kind, knowledgeable, and efficient!
Kathleen
Friendly staff
Charles
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Some other areas around the hotel looked dirty but it could be that they were just worn and old. The decor is dated and the room had a smell. Would i stay here again? Yes, it's not bad just old and dated.
Janet
Loved the screened in porch in the front!
brian
Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Great stay!

Everything ok!
Steven
Clean room, reasonably priced. Great value for the $. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Good breakfast.
Mary
Staff friendly, kind. and understanding. Beds were very comfortable.
Matthew
Great rooms, and a good location, plenty of eating establishments close by to property
Karen
It was nice and cozy, and the staff was friendly, but there are no coffee pots in the room. They have 24 hour coffee in the lounge, but it is difficult for mr to walk that far. I also had to take my breakfast to my room because the dining area is small, and all the tables were full.
Patty
Have stayed several times. Meets my needs
Roger

Charming older inn with a beautiful lobby and a great value for the money.
David
Across the parking lot from Walmart and several places to eat. The hotel was really unique and it was very quiet. Staff were friendly. Enjoyed our stay.
Tawanna
We liked the old time feel of the screened porches with rocking chairs and a patio off the breakfast area. The room was comfortable and clean. The service was friendly. We'd definitely go back.
Jennifer

Staff is super kind and helpful. Easy check in, makes you feel like a VIP. Clean and pretty. Love all the real plants. Comfy beds. Good breakfast.
Daniel
Clean & reasonable.
Front desk staff very helpful pleasant.. Towels could use an upgrade, too much like sandpaper. Another issue, power outlets on lamps. Only a few worked so plan ahead for charging items. .
Jayson
Vintage, but good service!
It was nice and quiet there. It was old, but in more of a vintage way! The rooms had an old smokey
Victor P
Front desk people take good care of you.

Bed was Comfortable
The bed was very comfortable. The room was dated. There was a piece of trash on the floor when we got there and I left it to see if it would be picked up the second day and it was still there. It wasn’t a small piece of trash it looked like some kind of bag had been opened and the top part fell on the floor. They did come in and make beds and change towels. There was also some baseboard material missing in the bathroom and it is the older style tub they are slick without the rubber mat provided.
Loren
great bargain
Place is a little dated, but if one is looking for a comfortable and economical place to sleep, it's here.
Keith
Comfy room and bed and good staff with a minimum breakfast
