This hotel was adorable. It's old, compact, and full of character and history. The staff was so lovely, welcoming, and helpful. The dining room and garden were very modern and inspiring and the food - notably the welcome cake - was incredible. We slept really well here (despite a little upstairs rumbling from a little one running around! Can't fault anyone for that considering how old the building is!). The location is perfect - right in the middle of things - a minute or two from everything - yet it was nice and quiet. We even walked from the train station, which was nice.

There was some difficulty checking in as there was no regular staff on duty when we arrived. They had trouble locating my reservation information (that may have been communication problem between Hotels.com and the lodging). Both days there was dog poop on the roof over the dining area outside my second floor room window. Only one bedside table and reading light. Good bed and linens. Excellent breakfast. Quiet. Nice yard.

The property was clean. The breakfast was good a nice effort to renovate the apartment was made, but used unconventional steps to reach the loft where the bed was. The steps would not be reasonable for the average person to climb.

Beautiful little hotel in a perfect location. Honestly one of the best stays on our 4 week trip. Bed was very comfortable rooms are large and are able to separate so can have a lot of light or make dark ( for sleeping). Breakfast was also 5 star full spread with special choices such as eggs Benedict.

The only staff I saw was for breakfast & she was very nice. Breakfast good too. When you book they send you a door code. When I stayed there were no other guests so it was a bit odd. Amazing stay in a beautifully renovated house in the old town. Beautiful room with ensuite. We stayed here with our toddler. Lovely garden to sit in and relax and delicious breakfast included. It was an amazing staying at Casa do Juncal. There were only 6 rooms so it was very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast is ordered the day before from a menu. It is actually a great idea so there is no food waste (hopefully eheh). The design details fit the decoration and the space.

We loved this hotel! The room was large and clean and well appointed and a great value for the price! The bathroom is a little small, but well updated. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and made to order! The only suggestion I have is that parking is difficult and there should be instructions listed on Expedia about how/where to park. Also the hotel should have a notice on the outside of the hotel door asking new guests to knock for service. Otherwise the location was amazing and Guimaraes is the loveliest small town. We will definitely come back!

This hotel is AMAZING! I don’t have a single negative thing to say! Their lofts are perfectly decorated, the girls that work there are all super nice and helpful. I think the best part of our stay was the breakfast! Wow! Best breakfast we had on our 1 month trip all around Portugal and Spain. They ask you to pick items from a long list the day before so they can have it ready for you the following morning. Everything we had was delicious! Thank you!!! I would recommend this place and would 100% stay here again!

We just loved our stay here. Fabulous large room with lounge area that looked over the courtyard and bed that was heavenly. Breakfast was fabulous and the service was just amazing. The girls are incredible. Parked our car, carried our luggage - just amazing. Parking is a few minutes away, secure and well priced. The hotel is perfectly located and lovely. There are about 10 cats in the garden so could be a problem if you are an allergy sufferer and I did inadvertently step in some unpleasant dropping but I enjoyed watching them laze around and they disappear as soon as you go into the garden.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful place
So happy that I came across Guimarães and Casa do Juncal. The first impression was from the attentive and friendly staff that let me leave my bags for a few hours as I arrived before the room was ready. They gave me some food and sight recommendations which were very helpful. The location is great and in the old town. About a 15 minute walk from the train station. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. This was the room with the balcony and the unique stairs. Took some getting used to but it was fun a good talking piece to photograph and show friends. The bed was comfortable. Be aware the only bathroom is downstairs. The couch folded out and slept one person and was actually comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. They provide you a menu and you preorder whatever you would like for the following day. Everything was tasty and fresh. No need to eat out when you can enjoy their patio and breakfast room. I would absolutely come back to Guimarães and this is where I would stay.

A perfect location in the historic centre of Guimaraes. Not too easy to find when travelling by car, but well worth the effort. The secure parking arrangement with an underground car park five minutes walk away works well. Service is welcoming and friendly and the breakfast, provided to order, is really excellent. The garden at the rear is a peaceful place to unwind with a cold beer after a day's sightseeing, or after dinner with a glass of port (of course). Our room was not spacious but well equipped. The only downside, for people of our age(!), was the need to come down an interesting but at first sight alarming staircase from our bed on the mezzanine to use the loo. Overall, we would strongly recommend the Casa do Juncal, and we would be very happy to stay there again.

The hotel is located in the heart of Guimaraes on a quiet square. They offer free parking a few blocks away in a secure parkade. The amenities were excellent. Only complaint is that our loft unit was very warm upstairs. The air conditioning unit was able to cool the downstairs well but not the upstairs. The helpful manager, Daniela, assured us a fan would be installed to improve the cooling upstairs.

This is a wonderful property that we would gladly stay in again. The building is beautifully renovated with very comfortable rooms and beds. The staff could not have been nicer and the breakfast was excellent and made to order with many choices. There is a little honor bar in the breakfast room. Casa do Juncal is in a great location in the historical district with easy walking access to sights and restaurants all over town. Our room had a lower level sitting room and a loft bedroom, both very comfortable. My only criticism is the stairs between the levels which are so oddly constructed that you cannot place both feet on the same step. Its more like a stair master exercise machine than a staircase.- we had to leave a light on at night to avoid taking a \"normal\" step and falling down the stairs in the dark. I don't remember the room number, but I would not recommend this room for anyone with vision or physical limitations. If you book a room there, ask about it when you make your reservation.

This is a six room hotel, where you feel at home. The hotel is a refurbished historic house, exquisitely decorated. There is no a reception desk, but a smiling face who welcome you to a very pleasant experience. The room set in two floors was beautiful, with all the amenities you may need. Vi ville besöka Guimarães för dess historia. Vi möttes av ett fantastiskt vackert boende! De vackra rummen med höga fönster, luftiga gardiner, klassiska badrum, mysiga inredningsdetaljer, sköna sängar och svalkande balkonger. Det vackra gemensamma köket gav inbjudande löften som infriades, om magisk frukost o för den som ville fanns uppfriskningar att köpa. Trädgården bjöd på sittplatser i grönt gräs, svalkande skugga och mysig kvällsbelysning. Utanför dörren låg Gamla stan med alla trånga gator, livliga torg o härliga restauranger. Vårt absolut bästa boende på vår 3 v långa tågluff i Europa.

Nao tem estacionamento entao utilizamos um estacionamento publico proximo, porem eles tem uma vaga na rua para carga e descarga, o q facilitou bastante.

Bra B&B i det flotte historiske senteret. Det er er ikke noen resepsjonen, og man får kode til inngangsdør og romdøren på E-post. Det var stort rom med stue og soverom. Savnet et kjøleskap på rommet. Ikke noen heis, så man må klare å bære opp bagasjen. Det var ren og godt holdt. God frokost, man leverte et skjema på kvelden om hva man ønsket til frokost. Ikke noe parkering, og kun to timers parkering i gaten.
