The hotel could use some renovation. Our room was at the end of the hallway and for some reason it was very hot even though the outside temperatures were cool. The front desk service was super good and friendly and it was good value for money. We had our little dog with us and they were very welcoming.

Great value for what we paid, 2 female senior citizens. Affordable hotel in a nice and convenient spot next to shopping center and major bus hub and in the middle of city center. Train station about 6 minutes away by local bus right by the hotel entrance . Very clean and staff were very friendly and accommodating. We’ll return and we’ll recommend to our family and friends!

We visited Guimaraes during the off-season and enjoyed our stay at the Ibis in city center. It was conveniently located near the Shopping Center, Mercado, and historic old town with easy walking areas nearby. They accommodated our dog for $15/night, though we couldn't leave her unattended and she was not allowed in most of the lobby area.
There were five hotel parking spots in front of the building, one for handicap parking and one for electric charging. Paid street parking was also nearby, you just had to be careful with timing. The hotel was convenient for people traveling by bus but a little difficult to find street parking and I can imagine that in the summer it would be even more of a challenge.

The hotel is a little walk from the main town but not so far as to make it un-walkable. Parking outside the hotel is limited so either arrive earlier or park nearby (there is free roadside parking very close). Don't miss the hotel though otherwise Guimaraes complex one-way system will keep you driving about more than you would like. Good hotel with good wifi, comfy rooms and excellent range of breakfast (though this was extra but worth the extra 6 euros each for what was more banquet than breakfast!). And the chap on reception was very helpful, whilst we did not need it but reassuring that help was on hand if needed.

The Ibis is next to a large shopping mall with many upscale clothing stores. Also, there is a food court with a variety of choices. The Ibis also has a nice menu and a well stocked bar so there is no need to venture out any further than the immediate surroundings. I wanted to see the old city of Guimaraes so the woman at the reception called a taxi for me and explained that I'd like to see the old city before taking the train south. The taxi driver picked me up at the hotel and drove me around and showed me the sights of the old city and explained the history of each area. My entire stay was a memorable one of the \"birthplace\" of Portugal.

This hotel was clean and the bed was the most comfortable pillow top mattress we had throughout our whole trip to Portugal. It was about a 15 minute walk to the main sites of Guimaraes. There was very little parking, perhaps room for 5 cars and we were worried we'd get a parking ticket but we didn't! I'd recommend it as a cheap and cheerful place that is clean.

Although the hotel was only rated as a two star we had at least a four star service. The location of the hotel was ideal for us, next to the bus station (all rooms are sound proofed), a shopping centre and more importantly for us close to the town centre with its wonderful historic buildings. If you want a cheap hotel with all the comfort of a four star then this is the one for you.

el hotel en si esta bien situado, solo dispone de 5 plazas en la puerta para aparcamiento de los clientes, lo cual resulta algo escaso, por otro lado la tendencia que tiene ibis ahora de su desayuno mínimo, no cumplía con los 50 productos, ni aun contando los 10 tipos de café de la maquina . muy escaso por no hablar de la pésima calidad de los productos, servido por lo propios miembros de recepción lo cual no agiliza el check out para nada, ahorrando costes a la empresa, pero no satisfaciendo al cliente. los chic@s de recepción muy amables e intentan hacer tu estancia lo mas cómoda posible, pero muchas veces no dan a basto

Lo que se espera de un Ibis, lo necesario para pasar la noche. La habitación y el baño no son muy grandes pero estaban muy limpios. En general el hotel se nota que tiene unos años pero está muy limpio y mantiene los estándares de esta cadena. Se puede ir andando al centro aunque no está en el casco antiguo. En la zona se puede aparcar con cierta facilidad. El personal muy amable

Surprenant pour un 2 étoiles. Chambre petite, mais propre. Le lit était confortable et le wifi fonctionne très bien. Seul bémol l'air climatisé ne fonctionnait pas. Parking dans la rue voisine durant 2 jours et aucun problème.
