We stayed here for four nights. Plus: good location right near night market. Staff was all pleasant. Minus: wifi in room was terrible. We consistently were getting kicked out and needed to keep putting password in. When it worked, it was very slow. We informed the front desk on our first day but it didn’t get better. Shower didn’t drain and electric outlet next to bed didn’t initially work, but both were promptly fixed.Property is in need of substantial refresh.

Major Wi-Fi frustration

The best feature of the Wiang Inn is its excellent location, a short walk from Chiang Rai’s night bazaar. And there is a very good swimming pool. The hotel breakfast is pretty good, though not great, but the décor in the dining room is very pleasant, with interesting iron sculptures and lamps all around in traditional Thai motifs. One major irritation we had in both of our adjoining rooms was Wi-Fi service that kept going in and out, and which the hotel staff had no means of correcting. I think the problem might have been related to the router on our floor, but moving the two rooms to address that shortcoming really wasn’t an option, so the four of us tried workarounds, like my iPhone hotspot, which used up a lot of my plan’s data.

The hotel was quite dated, but the location was good and it was close to everything. Staff were nice, especially at breakfast. Breakfast was quite limited and mainly Asian food, but they were happy to make eggs and omelettes for you if requested.

The biggest disappointment was the pool. We had partially picked the hotel because of the pool, as we'd just arrived from the UK and wanted to get some sun while we were there. The pool is in the most ridiculous location, such that there is no point in the day when it gets any sun at all. It's hard to imagine anyone designing a hotel with a completely shaded-at-all times pool, but that's what's happened here. It's therefore virtually useless, so if you're after a hotel with a pool, I'd suggest trying somewhere else.

Valued stay, but not fancy!

Hotel is large and seems equipped for extra service like tours offers in the lobby. But due to the pandemic there are not many travelers thus everything is quiet and cut down as everywhere in the world . Hotel is a little outdated with decor . Can be better with som repaint to brighten up. Checkin and out are fast. Pleasant staff, breakfast is included and has enough options for selectionsIt is buffet on weekend but at order on weekdays . Clean and bed us quite comfortable. We had to change room because WiFi was not connected. But it ran well as we changed to another room ! The pool looks big and nice but we did not have time to use it! Area is safe and walkable to town but everything seems quiet during Covid time!

Good choice for breakfast and plenty of it but my partner bemoaned the lack of muesli( he's a creature of habit). A better choice than the Hi Chiangrai and cheaper too.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel although needing a little update, was very clean and comfortable. They have a nice bar with plenty of space to unwind, a nice restaurant with great food, and a karaoke bar at night.

The Wiang Inn has been such a majestic hotel in its day it’s like going back years to the day a traveller was treated with style. The hotel is currently renovating its pool & was out of action but we were able to use their sister hotel the Wiang Indra Riverside’s pool. This place also was a great old place 😊
This hotel was very centrally located to the local markets, bus station (we arrived from Chiang Mai) & has a courtesy bus to the airport for 100baht each.
The Saturday night markets were the best we’ve ever come across but be very patient as the crowds were just shuffling along as so many people. Well worth it though as there were bargains galore.
Great service by all staff & the breakfast buffet was excellent.
We would thoroughly recommend the Wiang Inn.

I was certainly deceived by the four star rating. This is by no means a bad hotel, but it is nowhere near four stars. The room was dated, the bathroom had odd lighting, and you had to purchase wifi if you wanted to use it. There was no fitness center or business center, but there was a somewhat overpriced restaurant and apparently a nightclub. The live music in the lobby bar was nice to see, although I didn't visit the bar. Bed was reasonably comfortable. The location is pretty great though. It's less than five minutes from the bus stop and from the area you can access many other nice places around.

Older, but good hotel in the city. Breakfast and restaurant are good. Wi-fi is terrible everywhere in the building. Probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. Interestingly, when we mentioned it at the reception it improved instantly, but then turned bad again. Personnel not as friendly and helpful as in most other hotels in Thailand.

I have arranged airport transfer which costed 100baht. This is a very reasonable price for hotel-provide transfer considering that taxi costs similar or slightly less, or sometimes more expensive.

Hotel is clean and cozy, and room was just perfect.Located near night market, convenient access to seven-eleven, pharmacies and massage places.

Room service meal was reasonable and good taste.
Check in and out were done smoothly.

When I go back o Chiang Rai, will definitely stay there again.

WIANG INN - A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL .

The service on arrival at reception was excellent. This hotel takes you back to the days when you received excellent service from all staff at all times. The lounge area was so calming and relaxing, but the rooms were even better, especially for the price. Very clean and comfortable. The pool area was not used much by other guests, as I think most stay overnight and move on the next morning, they don't know what they are missing. I would definitely stay again next time we visit. The most important thing about the hotel was that it is situated right in the centre of town and all the nearby attractions are within walking distance. Great great place.

We spent two nights at the Wiang Inn Hotel and were generally pleased with the hotel despite getting off to a rocky start. Prior to our arrival we contacted the hotel about its airport pick-up service, which, according to the information on our reservation, could be booked for 200 Baht. However, when we called, we were told that we would be charged 400 Baht because we would be arriving after 6pm, and then directly told that they would not pick us up since our flight did not land until 9pm. We tried to complain about the poor treatment we had received at check-in, however, the receptionist had a very low level of English and did not seem to understand the problem.

As for the hotel itself, it is desperately in need of a renovation and has an old damp smell to it. Nonetheless, our room was clean and quite comfortable. The hotel's fantastic location made up for what it was lacking in other areas, as it was right around the corner from the Night Bazaar, market, and bus station.

This place is good value for the money,the rooms are decent,breakfast is good (try the ham omelet) and its near the bus station.I marked them down for hotel condition as they were installing new elevators and it was quite noisy and dusty,I'm sure that will be done soon so not to worry,also they have two banks of elevators so the was no disruption of service.
The hotel is also on the main street leading to the Central Mall so it's easy to catch a songthaew if you want to go there and do some air conditioned shopping and some people watching.The food court is definitely worth a visit,there is a huge choice of really good Thai food,a stroll through Top's market is also nice if you've never been in a Thai supermarket.
I would stay here again and I recommend it for those of us that think $50 a night is an ok price.I would rate it a little higher but their staff is just a bit unfriendly,they are definitely efficient but not as outgoing and welcoming as I'm used to in Thailand.

The Wiang Inn is another of the older Thai hotels that need updating but are still charming and definitely worth staying at.If you like the older Thai decor (and I do)you will enjoy your stay here as it just feels comfy and looks like a Thai hotel should look.The rooms are fine,the air con works and the showers are hot,I would like to see them get rid of the old tatty carpet and install a hard floor that would match the existing room decor.
The breakfast is good if uninspired and the dining room is pleasant,try the cooked to order omelet.
The location is very good,there is a Tesco Lotus nearby and of course a 7-11.There are two Italian restaurants and two or three Thai restaurants within walking distance,be aware that it is massage central and you will be asked many times if you want a massage.Oh,did I mention that the night market is 5 minutes away?

My stay in Wiang Inn is satisfying. The hotel is in a very good location, in the center of the city. The famous Night Market is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing not satisfying about this hotel is the bathroom. No matter how careful you take a shower, after the shower the whole bathroom floor is wet. It seems like the shower door is not water tight. But, overall a pleasant stay.

古いホテルですが綺麗にしてあり、子供に優しく快適でした。
朝ごはんも種類が豊富で、子供用の椅子も用意してもらえました。またプールも子供が入れる水深のエリアもありました。
お風呂が滑りやすいのと、シャワーヘッドが固定タイプなのでそこだけ注意です。
