Everything was as one should expect from a hotel of this standard; they were even able to provide a wheelchair for the duration of our stay. The Breakfast Buffet was very good. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by, though tended to cater for the tourist trade rather than locals.

Booked 4 rooms for family stay. My first time in Chiang Rai. Hotel is close to walking street, restaurants and massage shops. Staff was super friendly, rooms were clean, noise was minimal and breakfast was wonderful with a wide selection.

We were welcomed with a refreshing glass of iced tea! And our luggage was carried to the room for us. Clean stay with spacious room. Hallways were a bit humid but that also made drying pur shoes convenient on rainy days. The breakfast buffet was also yummy and diverse.

The bed was extremely hard. I didn’t even know they made beds that hard, it’s as bad as sleeping on the floor. When we arrived, they gave us a tea to welcome us, which was nice. We sipped them as we walked to our room and the next morning, the glasses were full of ants. The fridge was not cold and smelled of leaking refrigerant. At that point, we were tired and grossed out so we asked to be moved. The staff were kind and accommodating. But the bed in the new room was just as hard. We were very uncomfortable and barely slept the whole time we were there
The positives are that the location is fantastic and very walkable. It is close to the night bazaar and walking street with access to lots of restaurants and shopping.

One night in Chiang Rai

Very nice hotel to stay in the Chiang Rai. Close to everything, the BIG night market is easy walking and a must do experience in Chiang Rai. The Blue Temple is fairly close, and is walkable for people who like to walk. The White Temple is about a 20 minute ride and a MUST see.

Property is need of an update. Rooms are ok and good value. Aircon is quiet. Bed is in my top 5 hardest beds to sleep on. Area is full of restaurants and bars so no issue with location although a lot of massage places around with scantily dressed girls (but that’s nothing to do with the hotel).

Comfortable, clean room. Bathroom could use updating. There was a kettle but no coffee or tea, etc. available. in the room. Pool was cooler than we prefer and was located in a shaded area in the middle of the building. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Can't beat the location - short walk to the night market, the Clock Tower and lots of restaurants!

Hotel review and local Irish pub.

Room was good staff helpful and friendly breakfast was not so good we only went in once did not bother for the remaining 3 days of our stay. Hotel is in a great location close to the night market bars and restaurants. The Irish pub turn left out of the hotel and left on the first street serrves a good combination of thai and Irish pub food. Staff very friendly with quick service. Also a good Italian restaurant on the corner.

Old but good !

The hotel has probably seen better days, and the interior is quite old. However, our room appeared to have been renovated not too many 'decades' ago, and was nice and bright - and very clean. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We only experienced one glitch : At breakfast they wanted to charge me when I by accident broke a plate - never heard of that before. However, the front desk staff immediately dealt with the issue, and problem solved straight away.
Location cannot be better, as it just opposite the night market and clock tower, but still quiet.
All in all it was decent value for money, and I can recommend it as an option if you are not looking for 5 star luxury.

This property was only two blocks from the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar which was our number one criteria. It was also big enough to offer nice amenities ( including a free breakfast with Asian and western dishes). We could not find any combination of location, price and amenities that could beat it.

Good old hotel close to night bazaar

This hotel gives a feel of old style hotels common seen in Thailand around 20 years with antique furniture and decoration. That reads “old” but it’s reasonably well maintained. Just don’t expect modern furnitures like those managed by western hotel chains.

The room comes with what you can expect from a 4-Star hotel but you have to ask for certain items like hair dryers. A safety deposit box is not available in the room, either. (You have to hand them to the front reception)

At the time of my stay, parts of the hotel is under renovation so it may look more modern in the future.

Staff is nice and honest in giving recommendation on getting around the city.

A centrally located customer- friendly hotel

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Booked tour to White Temple and Golden Triangle was cancelled by local operator at very short notice. Staff assisted to locate another operator and saved our tour plan from bad to excellent.
Nice restaurant provided tasty breakfasts with sufficient varieties.
Location of hotel is excellent if you like massage, street food and night markets.
Very flexible in entertaining requests for extension of check out time.

Room smelt musty, hard bed, disgusting view of derelict building site from our bedroom.
Considering 2000 baht for a basic room, very poor value.
Sadly breakfast in the same vein, poor quality, fruit at one stage , tired looking bananas. We will not return.

The first room that we were assigned was very musty and the AC unit was dripping on the floor. The staff was helpful and provided us with a different room. Due to a major holiday there was little hot water the first night but that situation resolved when there were fewer people. Room was large and clean.

Positives: Good hotel with proximity to clock tower night market and a lot of massage parlours. Good service and friendly staff. The bell boy there arranged a very reasonably priced cab for us to go to Pu Chi Pha @ 3 am.
Negative:
The Rooms are very old with old furniture probably from 80s. The weather was very cold but the hot water tap only offered warm water. The breakfast had much choice for local taste.

Large & a little impersonal . No gardens & pool doesn't get sun . Rooms are OK ,
English DW & Singapore TV channels , also Fox Movies . Water never really hot in tub..
Breakfast is unvaried with usual , horrible sausages . They did get me bacon with a days notice , a nice touch that shows some are trying hard . Room maid was excellent .
Oak & Awe Bar on street behind is excellent , a great welcome with decent prices . Aussie bar , to the right of entrance also very good , but beware of gigantic portions.

My Go To Hotel In Chiang Rai.

This is a professionaly run hotel that is good value for the money.The location is excellent,near the bus station,restaurants,massage places and 7-11,everything a traveler might need.The breakfast is adequate if uninspired with limited choices.The decor is the older Thai style with lots of dark wood and Thai decorations which gives the hotel a nice vibe.

Wonderful place

This is a wonderful place. It's old and classical, very big and spacious and it sort of seems out of place. It is so local and easy to get to anything you want to see. Local tour guides all over the place.

This is a middle of the road hotel and there are other hotels in the area that are a better value for your baht.The room is adequate,the bed is ok,the shower works well but the desk for your computer does not have an electrical outlet.The staff are efficient if not overly friendly and the room was clean.The breakfast was a standard buffet with no standout items.All in all,it's a middle level hotel,nothing real bad but nothing real good either.

Great for a short break

Excellent location, perfect for the night market, restaurants and bars. The hotel has seen better days, but overall we were delighted. The staff were very helpful, although I'm not sure if English is spoken widely, they only spoke to us in Thai and did not attempt English. More pillows would have made the room more comfortable.

Great place to stay if visiting Chiang Rai city

The hotel is located in the heart of Chiang Rai few minutes walk from Clocktower and walking distance to many temples and night market. There are many shops and restaurants in the area too. The building is little jaded with old furnitur in room. But my room was clean with comfortable bed. Bathroom was adequate. There is free wifi. Breakfast was great with wide selection of food. Staff was very friendly. Hough the hotel is in city center it is quite with adequate free parking.

This is the second time I stay there in 2 years. I recommend it highly if you plan to visit the city of Chiang Rai.

Standart Zimmer sind gross und hell mit grossen Fenstern. Klimaanlage wurde erneuert und finktioniert individuell. Saubere Zimmer und saubere Betten. Frühstück sls Buffet mit guter Auswahl. Ein ganz kleiner Swimmingpool aber immer schattig. Der Empfang und das Personal sind top. Ein Taxi einen Ausflug eine Information - am Empfang wird alles organisiert zu normalen Preisen und es hat immer gut geklappt. Einfach empfehlenswert.
