Our GEM made our stay so relaxing and all our needs were taken care of.
The treatments at the spa were expensive but dreamlike, we had 4 unforgettable treatments.
The view was stunning.
The breakfast food was 5/5. The buffet was marvellous, with an a la carte included.
The hotel's accessibility could be improved. Not every staircase had a handrail.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Six Senses Hotel in Ko Samui, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every need was met.

The hotel itself is stunning, and the private villas blend seamlessly into the natural landscape, providing a sense of tranquility and seclusion. My villa was beautifully designed, featuring a private infinity pool that overlooked the ocean.

The food at Six Senses was another highlight prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The wine was also very good.

The massages were fantastic. I can highly recommend Melon, but I am sure that all the masseuses are all great.

The hotel helped the easy organization of tailored boat tours as well as a half day with a driver.

Overall, my stay at Six Senses Ko Samui was a perfect break. The combination of luxurious accommodations, outstanding service, wonderful food and top quality massages made for a truly memorable vacation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a serene and indulgent getaway.

Amazing staff, amazing food, restaurants and pools are first class. Good Service over all. Beware that the property is very spread out and also removed from island life. Good if you want to get away from it all and isolate yourself. Long distances between your room and the restaurants. Unless you like to walk a lot, you need to call a buggy to get picked up, which usually arrives pretty fast. Only real let-down is there is only one tiny sandy and usable beach for the entire place (the rest is all rocks). For Koh Samui the beach is unattractive and uninviting. They maintain the hotel part of beach (about 30-40 meters}, but if you go for a walk on the other 150 meters or so, it bis littered with trash and plastic bottles, very unappetizing. With the cheap labour in Thailand it would cost next to nothing to send 2 guys a few times a week to collect the trash. So don't come for the beach here, but everything else is pretty spectacular.

The location is exquisite with pools overlooking the ocean both in the service areas and private villas. Drift bar and dining is the bomb when it comes to all day swimming at the beach or relaxing by the pool in the sun and being spoilt by the Drift staff. SS is a must for those seeking a luxurious relaxing get away.

The property adopts a very good concept to be in good harmony with the nature! The ocean view from the villa, restaurants and the spa is spectacular. All staff members are friendly and helpful. To enable this hotel to stay competitive, the facilities such as the toilet and faucet can be renovated. The food quality of the restaurants can also be improved.

Six Senses Samui, we fell in love...again!

This is our second visit to Six Senses Samui and it was again, fabulous! Cleanliness, eco-friendly, staff, food, and location, all top notch...can't say enough about it...we are planning a return visit next year! Marieke Dijkhuis, the general manager and the food manager were always accessible and visible multiple times during the day. They were truly interested in our thoughts about the quality of service, food and atmosphere. The Gems and or butlers were very personable and always somehow knew what we might need in advance of our knowing...amazing! The cleaning staff always did an impeccable job and with a smile. The spa, oh the spa...marvelous... Coy, our masseuse is very proficient and professional at her trade...Oh and let's not forget the buggy drivers... always at our door in a matter of seconds so they could zip us to wherever we needed to go. We enjoyed every second of our stay...can't wait until we meet again!!

We loved our villa and the general vibe for Six Senses - we stayed in another SS in Vietnam last year which in comparison was much better in terms of service. Our GEM in Koh Samui seemed rather indifferent to us, which was surprising given that we were staying in one of the more premium rooms and we weren't offered any of the offers that other guests seemed to have - ie 2 for one massages in the spa and complimentary laundry - is this because we booked via Expedia rather than directly as we did with our previous booking in Vietnam?

The resort is situated on the tip of the island on top of a hill so the view is stunning! The pool overlooks the Bay Area where you can catch a magnificent view of sunset. The rooms were well equipped with mosquito repellent and aloe vera gel, very clean as well. Some downsides though:
- too many flies. I suspect this is due to left over food pieces and not enough fogging.
- we saw a cockroach (huge) in our room and lizard too... very terrifying but the resort manager did not apologise. They just came in with a spray.
- the water sports and tours are outsourced to a third party operator, which I don’t think the resort is responsible for. So we were taken to a “fishing village” which was more like an island in the middle of the ocean with a few locals. Trash was everywhere and I don’t think this warrants a nice excursion for a five star resort. Experience was disappointing... however the third party offered a discount to us. But the whole process was not controlled by six senses.

Cosy hotel nestled in nature

Great hotel guest rooms with interesting separation of spaces, providing flexibility in controlling or commanding views. Most impressive is the dining experience. Dining on the Rock is especially fantastic. I and my wife was showered under the full moon luckily, which adds more to our 30th wedding anniversary celebration. Staff attendance and warmth were also worth commending. All services and environment were luxurious without exaggeration, and very environmentally friendly. They have a yard for recycling all the waste from the kitchen, for composting, turning into cleansing agents, etc. A hotel with a philosophy in respect of nature. If the private plunging pool could be made more private by inserting planting or bamboo screen between two villas, that would be perfect.

Eco Luxury with down to earth friendly staff

As amazing as the views, staff, spa, pools, and other amenities were - the FOOD was the best part and that is very important to me. They have their own hens producing eggs ON SITE, they grow their own herbs, they use lemongrass stems instead of plastic straws - etc. Definitely get BREAKFAST INCLUDED, it is absolutely worth it. Although there is a breakfast buffet, there is also a daily-changing menu of a la carte you can have made to order. Another important aspect of this resort - PRIVACY - the rooms and private pools are very PRIVATE and you can really enjoy without a care.

Six senses was a friendly resort which meet our expectations.
All staff were very attentive and gracious, we found that after several days dining options were very limited ie only two restaurants, dining on the rocks was ridiculously expensive and not in keeping with the character of the resort the menu obviously hadn't been trialled and was very disappointing.
The spa treatments were caring .
We would return again and select a villa with a pool as unfortunately there were many very loud other Asian guests not ideal for a relaxing holiday.

Some highs - lovely pool, amazing sea views, great little bar, excellent resort shop, GEM Patrick very helpful. Some lows - too many flies and ants around the food, pleasant service overall but not really proactive or top notch, food rather bland, no word from or sighting of site manager. Beautiful place and really wanted to enjoy it, which we did, but for the price charged, the whole resort and some of the staff really are in need of a bit of an update and a shake-up. Six Senses Vietnam scores better on most aspects.

Honeymoon nightmare

Cliff notes version:

More time spent getting things fixed than enjoying our honeymoon. Cockroaches in villa, broken ac, no running hot water, no response from the general manger. Not even a single note to address or apologize for the never ending issues at this hotel.

This should not be a 5* hotel. 4* on a good day only because of the view.

Detailed review:

Paid for an ocean view room but got a great view of trees. Called hotels.com and got the room sorted to an ocean front upgrade. In my opinion I think we got the ocean view room we originally paid for. My wife and I came from the banyan tree hotel which is another 5 star hotel on this island. Over there we didn't even book an ocean view room and received a partial ocean view. That is called managing expectations and Banyan Tree was all that and then some.

At the Six Senses we spent the first seven hours with their employees fixing the ac, getting hot water in the room, etc. It is now the second evening and the ac is finally working properly. We also were welcomed by cockroaches in our villa upon our return from dinner. We are now just at the start of the third week of our 30 day honeymoon and I haven't been more excited to leave a hotel and get over to Bali asap.

On a side note our resort \"gem\" Fah was great as she tried to help us the best she could given what happened during our stay.

For the amount of money we spent here you can do much better elsewhere.

Nice hotel with great service

Definitely much nicer than a lot of places I saw on the island. The service from the staff makes you feel like you're in a five star resort. Love the privacy and seclusion you get. Best thing in the villa was the outdoor showers.. very relaxing. One thing I didn't like was the damp smell in the villa and the private pool was too cold to be used. Shared pool was beautiful though. Also dining on the rocks was not at all worth the $250 US dollars spent. My steak looked like stop and shop brand. I would still recommend this place though because the service really makes up for all the disappointments.

Amazingly luxurious getaway

Absolutely lavish getaway to spend our wedding anniversary. We stayed in a villa with its own pool and the view was amazing! The staffs were very friendly and helpful. They've organised a yummy cake and champagne to make our anniversary memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back.

Wonderful resort - excellent for a honeymoon

It's the ideal honeymoon spot. We had a wonderful time there - everything was perfect - the resort, the weather, the people, the food, the room, the pool & recreation areas and the Spa. They had a 2 for 1 after 5pm deal at the Spa so we booked treatments every evening. The food was delicious and so fresh. The buffet breakfasts were amazing. The staff are so friendly and attentive. They have free exercise classes every morning at 9am in a sala by the beach. The infinity pool is big and rectangular so great for doing laps or just relaxing. The location is secluded enough to be away from everything but just a shuttle bus ride into Chaweng. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom and outdoor showers are divine.

Beautiful property but very disappointing beach

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is great. The only problem is that the beach is really not that nice. The Six Senses share the creek with at least four other hotel/guest houses and there is a huge housing development being built at the said creek meaning the view is just horrific - a construction site. The main restaurant is nice but lacks an exclusive feel. The chic restaurant is very dark, empty and staff kind of let it go. It is huge but totally deserted and at the time of my stay the hotel was 95% full....

Great honeymoon stay

The only problem was the Mosquitos, the rest was perfect. We preferred the food at dining on the hill rather than dining on the rocks, because the relationship between quality and price was much better in the former one. The spa was amazing, we really recommend it!

We stayed here during Diwali Vacation in Oceanfront Villa. The room had an excellent view. Huge room. Though, the rustic decor is not to my liking, the facilities were first rate and excellent. Was not happy with the choice available in the menu. Though, service was excellent. A real five star experience.

I've been fortunate enough to stay in some very nice resorts throughout the world, but Six Senses Samui probably takes the biscuit - it is heaven on earth. A glorious location at the north of the island, it's quite hidden away from a lot of more touristy spots on the rest of the east coast, makes it perfect for those who want to get away from it all. The staff are all extremely helpful and go out of their way to assist you however the can. The resort is picturesque in every corner, the food is faultless, and the villa's are extremely spacious, comfortable with spectacular views while extremely private. The spa experience, although expensive, is well worth it, and the infinity pool and beach is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I can't recommend this place highly enough, literally did not put a foot wrong throughout. Perfect for a honeymoon.

Fabulous place to stay for vacation

It is beyond my expecation. I booked the hideway villa, and it had fabulous view to spot sunrise. The villa was large and clean. I loved their outdoor showering room. it was surrounded by bamboo, so you can still get your privacy. Hotel Service was extremely kind. They would greet you with a thai style drink while you check-in. Every staff would greet you with smile. During our stay, we got an boat-booking issue and they helped us to solve it properly. This is the place I will definitely come again

Place to be on Samui

Great hotel concept. Located on an semi isolated peninsula they have everything - the views, the best panorama pool, marvellous food selection at the breakfast buffet, incredible view panorama a la carte restaurant. Bungalows are isolated and you have the impression you are the only ones in the jungle. The fact that the hotel has no private beach is compensated that the public beach is accessible only by the residents of 3-4 hotels including Six Senses. So rarely we have seen more then 10 people on the beach. However please be aware that you will have to walk like 100 metres before you swim and most of the beach shore is rocky.

Perfect honeymoon hideaway

We stayed here for most of our honeymoon in a Hideaway Villa (number 40), which has a perfect view of the water at the private beach from our bed. Chilling out at the infinity pool and free WiFi was great.

Our butler Fai was extremely helpful and paid attention to little touches e.g. she ensured that mosquito coils were lit each day (as part of our villa being cleaned) as well as under our dining table - ready when we got there.

Room for improvement: Air conditioning in the bathroom/toilet area, as well as handles on both sides of the sliding doors.

I was excited about going to the Six Senses Samui. I even decided to pay a little bit more and treat myself to have my villa ocean front. What a disappointment... The pool was not inviting (looks dirty, full of death leaves, the surrounding was neglected, the cushion of the day bed dirty an soaked. Knowing all this, for almost the same price, I would have stay to the previous hotel which was a real 5* hotel!

Good hotel

We stayed at the 6s for 4 nights in the First week of may. The hotel has a different appeal as compared to other properties on the island. The location of the hotel is great; not too far away from the activities in samui and at the same time quite secluded.

Food at the hotel and service were absolutely top class. However, the rooms are quite dated. As mentioned in other reviews, mosquitoes are a problem in the hotel.

Prior to this stay, we stayed at the intercontinental samui. For half the price, excellent rooms and a view to die for, I would rate it better than the 6s.

If u r looking for complete wilderness

If you are hoping to stay in a hotel that's deeply set in the wilderness, forest, thick vegetattion and amongst the mosquitoes, harmless snakes and noisy insects this is for you. Not for the fainted heart or if you are looking for modern amenities and comfort. You would be stung and fed by mosquitoes and the only place there's air conditioned other than your bedroom is the gift shop. You would be mercilessly stung by mosquitoes in the restaurant as there's no air condition.

Fantastic! Great location, wonderful food (particularly breakfast) and excellent villas and service. Will return as soon as possible. Better lighting in the bathroom for things like shaving etc and maybe a bit more in the way of water sports, like wind surfing for example, are the only suggestions I would make. Everything else was perfect.

A nice place with some major problems

The resort is really nice, at the end of cap with a small private beach (hard to swim because of corals).

SPA is spectacular and both restaurants are exceptionals

The place is charming and luxury. Service is good (not exceptionnal for Thailand)

Bathrooms are very dark and only with showers OUTSIDE (hard to use at night with mosquitos). Small pools are not really well maintained.

Unfortunatly the resort is exactly behind the airport so planes land on your room all night long and Samui is getting very busy.

And to be sure that you won't sleep, very noisy engines from fishermen boats will ride the cap all night long all around your room.

Thai style room + natural surrounding
Friendly staffs + hospital service
Nice restaurant (Thai) + OK food, did not try \"on the rock\" restaurant (nice like but doubt its modem food)
Enjoyed time there and looking forward to come back

Out of town and cost 400 THB/person to airport, maybe rent a car is better choice.

Wir hatten die Villa mit Meerblick und es war Mega schön. Sehr sauber, vorallem weil zweimal am Tag der Zimmerservice kommt. Das Personal ist super freundlich und schaut zu jeder Zeit das alles für einen passt. Natürlich entsprechen die Preise vor Ort europäischen Preisen (manchmal etwas übertrieben um ehrlich zu sein)

Das Resort ist etwas abgelegen, man hat dort seine Ruhe. Es gibt Angebote um den ein oder anderen Ort der Insel zu erkunden.

Hyggelig og serviceinnstilt personale. Frokosten var overraskende liten med lite utvalg, etter hva jeg er vant med fra tidligere 5-stjerners hotellopphold. Resorten ligger fint til, men langt unna andre butikker og restauranter, prisene på hotellet er svært høye. En brus koster 15 ganger så mye som i butikken. Rommene hadde fin utsikt, men under oppholdet blåste det mye, også inne på rommet på grunn av dårlig isolasjon rundt vinduer, som gjorde at man på et vis følte at man var ute i stormen selv om man var inne på rommet. Rommet føltes noe gammelt og utdatert, trenger oppussing. Det var gjort noen improvisoriske reparasjoner på rommet. Hotellet er fint, og servicen er god og personalet gjør sitt beste for å gi en god opplevelse. Maten på restauranten er under gjennomsnittet og frokosten lite imponerende. Alt i alt en overpriset opplevelse for selve oppholdet. Maten og drikken på hotellet var også urimelig priset i forhold til lokale priser. Ikke misnøye på grunn av manglende service, men manglende objektive goder man får for pengene man betaler for å bo på stedet. Prisen kunne representert et all inclusive opphold på flere resorter med lignende eller bedre og mer oppdaterte fasiliteter.

Das Resort ist wunderschön in der Natur gelegen, jedoch sehr in die Jahre gekommen.

Das Frühstück war sehr eintönig. Es gab praktisch jeden Tag dasselbe, mit Ausnahme eines Gerichts. Die Qualität war in Ordnung.

Der Service war teilweise unorganisiert, jedoch freundlich.

Wir würden das Hotel eher als gutes 4 Sterne Resort einordnen. Der Abstand zu anderen 5 Sterne Resorts, die wir in der Vergangenheit besucht haben, ist sehr gross.

Down at the beach, and also at the tiny beach accessible from the spa the overall impression was unkempt.
Due to the daily spraying there are hardly any blossoms on the plants and trees.

The staff advises use of the app for all requests, making it difficult to digitally detox! Would have preferred a paper alternative.
