let me start by saying that the hotel staff was excellent. No complaints.
Keep in mind that the building was built around 1794 and later around 1830 became a teaching hospital.
Some of the rooms are a small and cramped. By the pictures on their website, I thought the rooms would be bigger.
All in all not a bad place.

Great comfortable sleep at night. I have stayed at the hotels popular with influencers and although they are super nice, you can hear everything that goes on inside and outside of those hotels which kept me up at night. The young lady behind the desk at check in is kinda rude and not friendly at all. But all in all it’s a great hotel that is quiet and in a great safe location. The hotel is clean and comfortable and walking distance to everything the city center has to offer

Black Mold on Ceiling

I checked into room 226 and it was immediately clear the room had mildew. Additionally the room had no windows, so I was unable to clear the air. I expressed my concerns to the hotel, but they refused to change rooms for me, I was even willing to take a smaller room versus a suite I paid for.
I returned to the room and while in the restroom I had parts of the ceiling come down on me, which then drew my attention to the black mold on the ceiling.
My one night stay was horrible and I spent part of the night with the room doors open to have some kind of fresh air. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, because of their lack of service.

The property looks super tired , dated , the property itself is an old building very beautiful arquitectural wise but looks like they haven”t put any effort or money in maintenance.

Our internet and t.v did not work during our stay even though we reported since we arrived.

This property is not a 4 star place at all .

Room had no ventilation or air conditioning. Only fans.

Bathtub drain did not work.

Shower was a drizzle and hot water took long time to arrive.

TV channels hard to figure out. No guide provided.

Otherwise all else was good.

The hotel is beautifully historic. Very clean and very well-kept. In a prime location of the historic city center.
I landed at 5 AM from a redeye flight and arrived at the hotel at 6 AM. The staff was able to check me in for a reasonable fee so that I can get a good nap and restful morning.

The hotel is next to Morelia Cathedral, which is in the centre of Morelia. It is very convenient to walk around. The building is historical. The staff is very friendly although some of them are difficult to communicate in English. The hotel is not cheap. But the facilities are limited, e.g. there is no fridge, no kettle, no slippers.

LOVED the location. It was across from the Cathedral, and one block from the main square. MUCH better to stay here than on the main square that is very loud until early in the morning. We had a room with a view and small balcony. Room was very large with super high ceilings. Bathrooms remodelled, spacious and very clean. Housekeeping daily kept the room very clean. Rooftop restaurant and bar had a super view, inside and outside seating, and good food, drinks and service. They were closed on Saturday night for a private party, and are not open at all on Sunday evening, so do not delay going there when you arrive in case they are closed for another private party. There is NOTHING negative to say about this property. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

The hotel is in an old hacienda across from the cathedral. The view is amazing! I booked two rooms with king beds. I was giving two rooms with two full size bed. As a parent who do sleeps, this wasn’t very fun!

A piece of history!

Super nice historical building. It was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. However, the guys who worked lobby super friendly and happy to see us.

Right across from the Basilica many restaurants and shops walking distance. The hotel is from the colonial area , rustic tile or wood flooring, large doors and windows, but clean. We had great views of the Basilica. We were able to book a tour of Morelia through them. Excellent roof top restaurant open all day 8-11pm . Would definitely stay here again!

The location of the property is incredible. Unfortunately, the staff other than Alexandra from the restaurant \"La Azotea\" and our housekeeping staff member Rosita, were horrible! The front desk never offered a VIP amenity even after messaging the hotel directly. I also had to call room service on an order of coffee and toast after placing an order 45 minutes prior, only to be told
they didn't know what time it would be delivered. Needless to say, I canceled the order and walked to a restaurant by the hotel to purchase it and bring it back to our room. I have stayed in many hotels in Morelia.. La Casa Grande, Hotel Casino, Hotel La Soledad and Villa Montaña. This was by far the worst Service of all. For about the same price range (property wise) I would stay at Hotel del La Soledad which has better service.The exerience was so bad I preferred losing a prepaid night and purchasing new tickets to return home because all the hotels were sold out during the Christmas break. ..

Reception service were as good other hotel but hotel old and dark. Don’t get me wrong, I expected old with history but darkness of hotel hallway to your room felt disappointed. Also make sure to have multi usb charge unit, cause only 1 outlet (that I was able to find) in bedroom area. Also safe box in room were broken/damaged and could not use. However room size and quality of bed were good that we were able to sleep well.

Loved the architecture, the restaurant, the service. Loved the location and view from our window. Downside: the church bell starts gonging at 5:30 every half hour, and so many gongs as if it will never stop so bring earplugs if your room faces the cathedral, but for the view it was worth it to me.

Horrible place and worst experience. I booked a room during Mexican Independence Day, a previous hotel had called me a week prior saying that they had no rooms and canceled my reservation. So I booked the suite with a view at this hotel. Given my problem with the last hotel I called in advanced to confirm, they said yes your reservation was made and room with a view type confirmed. When I was in the city a day before I came in to make sure my reservation with a view was still as promised. The front desk Juan said yes we have your room ready for tomorrow even gave me the number but that I couldn’t check in until my check in date. Next day I show up to check in And they had changed my room type, while I paid for a suit with street view they said that they never said that and that my room was one in the back and didn’t even have a window. I asked to speak with the manager and he laughed at me and my fiancé saying we were crazy those rooms were booked a year in advanced. At this point I had already filled my credit card info prior to knowing the room we were downgrading even though being charged original suite. I asked the manager that room your giving me isn’t what I agreed paying for that type of room that did not want that room. He told me that’s fine you can leave, I asked what I should do with the form I was filling out to check in he said just leave it there we will though it away. Next day I check my bank account statement and they had ran my credit card regardless.

I liked the history, beauty, and location of the building. It really is lovely. The room was spacious and had a king sized bed.

I disliked the Cathedral's bell (was loud and incessant). Warning - you can hear the bell in your room. We switched from the noisy room with a view of the cathedral to a less noisy room in the interior. The room we switched to (in less than 20 minutes) was less expensive, but staff still charged us the cost of the more expensive room. Unpleasant woman at the front desk; really put a damper on our stay there.

I liked that it was in town next to the cathedral lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and they took care of arranging for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport. I didn’t like that my bedding was not clean the first night, however I notified cleaning service and it got taken care of. There was not enough hangers, no iron and had to ask for additional towels. No coffee maker.

The building is wonderful, historic. Nicely adapted to today's needs but lacks electrical connections. The hotel was virtually empty. We arrived hot and with lots of luggage but could not enter our room until the appointed hour. No flexibility. Restaurant was not open on Sundays, no robes, two tiny bottles of water. It could be first rate with a bit more customer service and coffee in the lobby. We had to go for early morning coffee outside since restaurant did not open until 8:00 a.m.

Nicest hotel staff I’ve ever encountered.

The staff are among the nicest of any of the hotels I’ve stayed with in multiple countries. What they lack in english fluency, they make up for in willingness to help. The only critique.. is for light sleepers.. bring good ear plugs. You are in the center of the city facing the cathedral. There WILL be fireworks. There will be music. I closed the windows and with ear plugs I slept like a baby as the beds are comfy. NOTE: i had the same issue in Guadalajara, Mexico City and even New York City. If you are not used to a city.. be prepared for city noise.

There was no one there. We saw lights on in one other room during our three days. Restaurant was not open for us on Sunday evening but it was the next night and it is absolutely beautiful and the food was excellent. Room was very clean and bed/pillows were very very comfortable.

Great hotel at an unbeatable location with spectacular views of Morelia's cathedral, both from the rooms and from the rooftop restaurant. Rooms are comfortable and staff is very atrentive. Having dinner at the Azotea rooftop restaurant is also highly recommended (great food at very reasonable prices and with the added advantage of the views). You also live a part of history since the hotel used to be a hospital in the 1800's. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again on my jext trip to Morelia!

the hotel is very close to the Cathedral and the church bells star at 6 o clock in the morning and keeps going every 15 minutes all day! So if you don't mind the noise the hotel is in a good location. The staff is ok. The rooms very clean. but I won't go back to stay there and be annoying by the noise of the bells too early!

Pros: Authentic Old World Mexican charm. Outstanding view if you get a room facing the cathedral. Good price. Great location.
Cons: not one person that worked in the hotel speaks English. Room service was bad. Not one plug in the upscale room. Architecture was awesome but was sadly in need of modern paint scheme and updated decor.
