Worse experience of my life. Water line ruptured and heater not working. Staffed quite on New Years leaving the hotel unattended. Disgruntled employee shut off the power to the building. My vehicle was parked miles away and no one new where the hotel parked their customers vehicles.

Casa Grande Hotel Boutique has beautiful architecture, but the experience was disappointing. The staff was stand-offish, acting like any request was a burden. They gave no helpful recommendations and seemed uninterested in assisting guests.

A standout moment was breakfast on the terrace. I asked what pan dulces were available, and instead of answering or offering to bring any, I was told to go downstairs, check myself, buy what I wanted, and bring it back. It was baffling and showed a lack of hospitality.

The rooms were poorly designed. The only lighting came from the windows, but since our room faced the courtyard, opening them meant no privacy. Keeping them closed left the room dark and uninviting. The doors were also extremely hard to open, making even basic tasks frustrating.

The rooftop terrace has a stunning view of the cathedral, but none of the rooms have that view—only the terrace does. If that’s what you’re booking for, skip the stay, book a better hotel, and just visit for a drink instead.

Between the cold staff, poor lighting, and frustrating layout, we checked out early and went elsewhere. Casa Grande looks great in photos, but it’s all style over substance.

The hotel has an unbeatable location right at the Morelia´s cultural and entertainment center, everything worth visiting is within walking distance (5 min). The building itself is gorgeous and will inspire you to take many great pictures; beware it is a popular wedding venue, so you might have a party going on during your stay. Rooms are huge and nicely decorated, unfortunately you’ll get some noise from the street, but this is a 300-year-old building, so, no big deal. Staff is very attentive and efficient, always looking to make your stay most enjoyable.
The terrace has a magnificent view of Morelia’s Cathedral, great place to have an evening drink or two, and enjoy the Cathedral lighting show on Saturday nights.
Parking at an offsite place is available for an extra cost (MEX150/day), it will take 15 min to get your car.
This is not a low budget place to stay, but your money will get you a remarkable experience that we are already looking forward repeating.

Amazing hotel, clean, well decorated. Friendly front desk staff. Unbeatable location. The only complaint I would have is that service at breakfast in the rooftop was very bad. I think it was because the kitchen is on a lower level so was much slower, but also didn’t get condiments, like syrup or butter for pancakes, even after asking for them, so had to eat them dry, and rarely saw the server. Wasn’t a major issue issue however as we loved everything else.

It was not a great place to stay. We never received a free drinks or a bottle. The room was nice, but there is a bar or a club next door and kept us up until 3am. I also tried doing a late check out and at first I was told yes and the next day the staff said no. I would't stay here again. Very dissapointed.

El restaurante no vale visitar a parte de desayuno. Me han dado un cuarto a un lado de una bodega o no sé que solo que diario habia demasiado actividad desde el camión temprano en la mañana para recoger basura. El cuarto falta atención a detalles por ejemple en la ducha y la pared atras del escritorio. Hubo otras habitaciones disponibles, y me dieron lo peor posible, mi tercera visita al hote estara probablementa la última. Hay mejores hoteles cerca.

I had three master suites. One morning a man appeared in my 86 year old mothers room, having somehow unlocked the door with a magnetic key. I complained to the General Manager and was assured a complete investigation. I never heard back from that at all. I emailed them 3 weeks later and still have not heard a word. If you are concerned for your safety, this is NOT the hotel to stay at.

This hotel was by far the cutest boutique hotel . the moment you walk in it feels like a hacienda with a modern flare I love the look the entrance of the hotel is a large courtyard beautiful pictures hang from the walls not sure who the artist is but very beautiful pictures .the rooms are decorated very tastefully bathrooms are huge and the vaulted cealings (16ft)in the rooms make it feel even bigger and grander . I recommend this hotel I usually only stay at 5 stars and this hotel although a boutique definitely deserves to be a 5 star I love it the staff is friendly & helpful .rooms are clean smell fresh no musky smell thank god ❤️And the views from their rooftop terrace are amazing loved this place if ever back in Morelia I will stay here again

Apparently you have to let the water run for a VERY long time to get hot water. So long that we never got hot water one of the days. The breakfast included was delicious, in a beautiful restaurant. It was very noisy from street traffic.

A beautiful hotel, absolutely stunning architecture and attention to detail on the refurb of this old colonial mansion........Fantastic location next to the plaza. Room was stylish and well appointed. Lovely spaces and bar/restaurant. Rooftop looked amazing although was closed due to an event........only gripe was the Wifi which was patchy and slow in all parts of hotel. Should be an easy fix and only blip in a perfect short stay.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location with a delicious breakfast and a bartender that makes an excellent margarita. Until the last night of our stay, I would have given it a five-star review. However, on Friday night, there was a large party on the roof with booming music and shouting people until 1:30 in the morning. This is an issue I had read about in earlier reviews, but based on management's response to those reviews, I thought they were going to address this issue, so I booked this hotel anyway. However, based on the response of hotel personnel to my complaints about noise, which was basically, \"Well, we have an event,\" it's obvious that hotel guests getting a good night's sleep is not a priority compared to events. I would not recommend this hotel unless a) you don't plan to sleep until past 1:30 in the morning or b) you confirm in advance that no events are scheduled.

The property was beautiful and well conserved. What I most enjoyed about Casa Grande was the friendly staff! Expedia gave us the option to check in two hours prior to check in time and the hotel was nice enough to let us check in three hours prior since we arrived a little early. The front desk receptionist was a gem. She was so friendly and welcoming. The greeter Jorge Antonio was so informative and gave us a history of the hotel.

Excellent location, rooms and staff. Only downside was that the hotel's rooftop is a very popular venue for upper-class weddings. We hit one of these on our first night and had to change rooms. Even then we suffered from booming music until well after midnight. Check if there is a wedding before booking in.

Hotel doesn't have own parking lot and the car has to be parked 2 blocks away from the premises. However, the hotel staff takes care of parking and returning your car to the front door if the hotel at any time.

Very satisfied and definetly returning to this hotel on my future visit to Morelia.

The hotel took us to the time it was a colonial house. The rooms very comfortable and quiet. The service excellent and the restaurant great. Jorge, the bell boy, was great. He speaks fluent English and took care of us. He arranged transportation, found great wine for us and set up a private dinner at the roof of the hotel.

The Suite was quite big compared to the nearby hotel. We had a suite with a nice balcony on the back street. The staff very helpful, particularly in the restaurant.
Excellent breakfast, also for a vegetarian. The only issue the room was a bit dark if you need to work. In the Expedia site reservation, was advertised as free drinks for two included. However, the hotel was not aware of this. At our request, we got a free welcome drink. The price of the drinks is not high anyway.

An Ideal Location

This beautiful, historic hotel is in the perfect location when visiting Morelia. Directly across the street from the park containing the Cathedral, everything important is within walking distance of the front door. A very friendly and helpful staff, with many who speak English. Wish we would have stayed longer, especially when the sun came out the morning we were leaving. There is always next trip.

Hotel is amazing, great room and amazing views from the city centre, but staff is not good, they do not solve problems at all. I tried to pay with an amex card and they did not have the system allowing to pay with this type of card and they only tell you once you're checking out! So, they said they would charge to your card three days later! How do you know or trust them? I have checked my card status and the charge was ok, but I had to leave a copy of my card, ID and other personal info just because their system was not working. What kind of hotel does not have a proper system to charge to your card?

This is the second time my family has stayed at this hotel. We like to close proximity to the plaza, restaurants and attractions. We had a room in the ground floor. The room could benefit from adding additional lights as I thought the room was too dark. Overall, we like the hotel and we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in the future.

location location location

the hotel is directly across from the city square. wonderful location and easy access to many wonderful sites:) many churches, state buildings, statues, shopping. a good share of the staff spoke some english and they were all friendly.
we felt very safe while in morelia. we walked in the square at all hours of the day and night. there were many vendors and people working hard. there was a high police presence at all times and the security at the hotel was high.
we had a wonderful visit! and watched the city and life from our little balcony:)
the food at the restaurant was beyond words! delicious! the prices quite inexpensive.
overall it was a fun, colorful, educational vacation.

Elegant, beautiful hotel with all modern amenities. Gourmet complimentary breakfast with excellent service. Water from the taps is purified and safe for drinking, not always the case in Mexico. Location is right on the Zocalo in the historical center of the city. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging tours and having bus tickets delivered for our trip to Mexico City. The Casa Grande is a gem.

I loved my room. I was blown away with the height of the ceiling. I was able to measure it with a tape measure. I calculated approximately 22 feet high. I especially liked that the room had a \"wired\" internet connection in addition to the standard wifi. I always travel with my own router since I think it is more secure. The Internet was one of the fastest I have had in a hotel. The location in front of the Plaza of Martyrs and the cathedral was wonderful. I have NOTHING negative to say.

Hotel was expecting us and our Hotels.com reservation was in order. The master suite is very nice. Big room separate bathroom with individual areas for the toilet and the shower. Lots of storage, air-conditioning, king bed, Nespresso coffee maker, TV, music player, bathrobes, high ceilings, writing desk, free high speed Wi-Fi and breakfast included. Room was an interior one facing the courtyard and it was noise free. Located across the street from the Zocalo it has access to all the historic centre of Morelia has to offer. What's not to like about Casa Grande - nothing.

This hotel boutique is beautiful! The palace is very nice, the room was big and elegant with every comfort. Cleaning excellent. The staff was always helpful and polite. The restaurant the best of Morelia. Our staying was beautiful.

Beautiful boutique hotel in central location convenient to most sites. Nice clean spacious room. Wish there was more lounge areas for relaxing without spending at the bar or restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel and we will return.
