A lovely artistic themed hotel ten minutes from Plaza des Armes. Each room features a different artist. Really quirky. Rooms were great although shower was never really hot. Coffee making facilities etc in room. Would highly recommend. Very accommodating staff.

This little hotel is well located in Morelia. Its close enough to walk to everything in the centre of town but tucked away on a quiet street. I was travelling by motorxycle and they do have secure parking half a block away. Breakfast was also quite good!

Basic room, you get an actual key rather than a ecard. Took about 5 min of running water to get hot water! What a waste. On the positive side, there is art all over (that you can buy!), the hotel and rooms are assigned names of various artists. There only 2 floors, no elevator. The ambience in the hotel is very artestry.

The property is clean is and home converted into a hotel and definitely is a 1 Star hotel, there are many other hotels in downtown Morelia 3 or 4 stars that you can get for similar price as portico, the breakfast is very poor and limited to two eggs with coffee the hotel is outside Morelia main square there is much better options in Morelia for the money you paid

This is a pretty hotel with wonderful staff, an outstanding breakfast service and real charm. The street outside is insanely noisy however and the hotel has no air-con. So keeping windows open was a must but the traffic noise was unbearable starting at about 7 am

Great little hotel!!! Not super fancy, but if you're looking in the price range offered at this property, you shouldn't expect it to be. While the rooms are not fancy, they are absolutely charming and very clean. Front desk and library/bar staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Proximity to the center (Cathedral area) is very close, about a 10 minute walk. With such amazing food everywhere, you want to have at least a small walk so that you can munch as you go. I hope to return to Morelia soon and when I do, I will be staying at the Portico again. Thank you Portico staff!!

We stayed at Hotel Portico Cultural for 6 nights while exploring my husband's home town of Morelia and the surrounding towns. The hotel is in a repurposed colonial-era building that is beautifully redone. The room was adequate, the bed comfortable and the shower was large with lots of hot water. The storage space for our belongings was the only downside of the room, there was only a small open cabinet with a rod and 2 small shelves. Since we were in Mexico for a longer time than our stay at the hotel, it was inadequate to store all our clothing and accessories not to mention our souvenirs. The staff was warm, kind, considerate, and prompt to attend to any need or inquiry. The breakfasts were superb with fresh juice, fresh fruit and eggs with beans and chilaquiles. and served by very friendly and efficient staff. The hotel's location was excellent, one block from the aqueducto and the Callejon de Romance, and a few easy walking blocks from the Catedral and Centro Historico. The free, secure, underground parking was a big plus, as we had a rental car. It was located a short block away from the hotel, but there was temporary parking right outside the hotel to load/unload luggage. Although we did not attend, we saw over a dozen or so people gathered on Thursday night for the conversation group. They appeared to be engaged in lively discussion. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Portico Cultural to any travelers to Morelia!

We loved this place. Welcoming staff, good full breakfast included in the attached cafe/bookstore. Original local art on all the walls and an art gallery in the hotel. Good hot showers, comfortable bed, great location to walk to the main tourist sites.

This is a very stylish hotel with local artwork throughout the building and in all the rooms. The room came with parking (valet, in a garage about two blocks away), filling daily breakfast, and drink vouchers for the cafe. We were originally in an interior room with a very tiny window, but the hotel was able to move us to a larger room with a big window on the street. Comfy beds; great stay overall.

This small hotel works hard at being an arts hotel, but misses some of the basics. It is clean and comfortable--but likely a bit overpriced for what it is. The interior rooms on the second floor are quiet, but avoid the ones without windows because they can be quite stuffy. The breakfast is just ok by Mexican standards (as we know, Mexican breakfasts can be amazing). And there is wifi available only in the lobby. The hotel is well run with a friendly staff. It could just focus on being more Mexican and less arty.

Good hotel but way too noisy on New Year's Eve
We stayed two nights at the Portico Hotel and liked it so much that we booked another night on our way back through Morelia. It was New Year's Eve and the Hotel had been booked by a private party. There was so much noise (kids screaming and running up and down the hallways, party horns, loud music, etc.) that we didn't sleep at all. I complained to the front desk and he spoke with them but the \"merry making\" continued well into the middle of the night. I don't have a problem with people celebrating NY's Eve but a Hotel shouldn't put the needs of a private party over those of its other guests. Perhaps we were the only other guests and they just didn't care. As a result, very disappointed.

Great Location!
The hotel was beautiful. Next to the actual hotel is an art exhibit and every room is decorated with paintings of different artists that have visited their exhibit. The location is walking distance to the cathedral, museums, restaurants, and the local theater. The staff is friendly and the rooms were very well kept.

This hotel was a bit farther from the central part of downtown than I had anticipated, but that's my fault since I could have looked at a map. The rooms were not as nice as I'd imagined, but they were fine and the desk staff was helpful when I wanted to move from what was a large but noisy room to a smaller, quieter room.The cleaning staff was also very responsive to any request. I think my overall impression is fine. No great shakes, but certainly not the least attractive hotel I've ever stayed in. It really is a three star as indicated.

Salió un ciempiés enorme! Cuando llegamos a la habitación estaba la ventana abierta (no tenía mosquitero)pero hacía mucho calor y estaba muy pequeña así que la dejamos abierta, nos salimos a cenar y al volver estábamos viendo la tele cuando vimos en nuestra pared detrás un ciempiés de unos 25cm negro, mi esposo bajo a recepción a pedir ayuda y lo hicieron enviar una foto a un whatsapp, le pidieron que volviera a contar lo que había sucedido y después fueron por un recipiente y una cuchara de cocina para “atraparlo” la chica que estaba en recepción estaba por salir y le dijo a la que estaba entrando a su turno que ya se iba y que ella lo hiciera. Mi esposo le pidió un cambio de habitación y dijo que tenía que hablarlo con su gerente, después de otro rato volvió y nos cambio a la habitación de al lado, eran como las 11pm y claro que no pudimos dormir de la preocupación de que saliera otro porque al meternos a la nueva habitación de al lado también tenía la ventana abierta!!! Nos regalaron una botella de vino y pidieron una disculpa pero el susto y el dormir al lado de una habitación donde podía salir otro no fue muy grato. Jamas volvería

Es un lugar muy limpio, tranquilo, la ubicación es buena, la catedral de Morelia está a 12 minutos caminando. Las habitaciones son muy limpias, las sábanas y toallas, un detalle que me tocó una habitación sin ventana, y sin aire acondicionado, lo que en ratitos se sofocaba el calor, más cuando me bañaba. En general recomiendo el hotel, muy seguro, las personas que me atendieron fueron muy lindas y atentas.

A favor: la ubicación, a 10 minutos caminando de la plaza de armas y otras atracciones, la extrema amabilidad del personal, la limpieza del hotel, wifi aceptable, servicio de recepción 24 horas,el desayuno suficiente pero de porciones pequeñas poco de fruta, café, vaso pequeñito de jugo, si deseas más debes pagarlo, huevos con chilaquiles frijoles y pan blanco. Las camas suficientemente cómodas. A tomar en cuenta, las habitaciones son muy pequeñas pero eso no es reprochable al hotel, así son las características del inmueble, regadera, sanitario y lavabo están separados, la entrada a la regadera en la habitación que nos tocó estaba a 20 cm de la cama, la cual a su vez está pegada a la pared por el espacio reducido así que alguien dormirá pegado a la pared en cama matrimonial, no hay aire acondicionado pero se facilita un ventilador que refresca lo suficiente, hay que subir un piso de escaleras por si llevan equipaje pesado. Si la idea es dormir allí y salir a pasear la habitación funciona para dos adultos, si la idea es descansar todo en día en el hotel es mejor procurar otra habitación, el hotel cuenta con una habitación con cama king size que se ve muy cómoda pero tal vez tenga un costo mayor. El precio de la habitación que contratamos fue muy competitivo pero consideraría pagar un poco más para una mejor habitación. En síntesis el hotel tiene habitaciones económicas pero si te es posible extiende un poco tu presupuesto y busca una mejor habitación, estacionamient 50/noche.

Hospedarme en el Pórtico Hotel Cultural fue una linda y enriquecedora Experiencia. La sede una hermosa Casina del siglo XIX. Que conserva intacto mucho de sus espacios originales, arcos muros, un bello vitral, puerta de entrada original en madera tallada. Hay exposición de obras de artistas Michoacanos en todo el hotel y sus habitaciones. Excelente Atención, Amabilidad, limpieza. Desayuno rico. Y el hotel está inmerso en el centro histórico de Morelia. Cerca de todo caminando, en taxi o uber. Muy cerca de la iglesia y mercado de San Juan. De la Fuente de las tarascas. Y cuenta con una Galería donde tuve la fortuna de apreciar la Exposición titulada DUALIDAD de un artista y escritor fallecido muy joven (31 años) en el 2021 llamado DIEGO ESPINOSA.

El hotel me pareció muy lindo, es pequeño pero acogedor te envuelve en un ambiente pintoresco muy característico de morelia, el personal es muy muy atento siempre siempre estuvieron al pendiente, las habitaciones muy limpias el agua caliente súper bien... el único único pero que le pondría serían 2 cosas que el estacionamiento no está en el hotel y que en las habitaciones que dan a la calle se escucha muy fuerte el paso de los carros pero la verdad pasa llega uno tan cansado que es eso lo de menos, en general si lo recomiendo mucho la relación precio servicio muy bien

Me gustó la atención del personal y la ubicación. No me gustó la habitación 205. Es un cuarto enclavado en un baño. El WC no tiene ventilación y la regadera está pegada a la cama. La cama matrimonial está pegada a la pared y es muy incómoda para dos personas. Nos cambiaron de habitación a una más amplíia (208), mucho mejor, pero no llegaba el WiFi.
