Not a 5 star hotel very few amenities and a charge for everything

I tried to get a toothbrush I had to call 4 different numbers spend 5 mins hunting for a staff member only to be told they didn’t have a toothbrush

Parking for 150kn a day is pretty steep especially when you consider other 5 star hotels in the area offer free parking

The biggest let down is the fact that there is no actual beach club attached to the hotel. You pay a random premium to be in a 5 star hotel and end up having to walk qu mins and PAY just to use the beach very disappointing

A top quality hotel right next to the sea, and with lots of restaurants and bars only a short walk away.

Beautiful place and excellent location

Rooms were clean and very spacious. The beds were comfortable and the shower was huge and loved the rain shower. The free breakfast was over the top for being European. Eggs were delicious and the fresh juice was yummy. What a lovely hotel!

Easter weekend in Superiour sea-view room

Room: we booked superior room because there was no other option. The room is ok, nice. However, it is not a 5 star room. We were in the new part of the hotel which is more modern, for my personal taste I prefer older part. The room was clean, minibar was rich, the view was amazing-facing the sea and the pool area. The bed was great, pillows were perfect. Toiletries were not 5 star, vanity kit was open and missing the q-tips. There were no bags for lady pads, later I found them in the carton box in the drawer with a blow-dryer which was screwed-in the drawer and the one that you need to hold in ordert to blow. The blow was slow and my super thick hair made the whole washing my head again there experience, just not happening. We were on the first floor, the watter preasure was ok but not from the rain shower (you need to spend a lot of time to wet the hair standing under it), so rather take the holding one. But, did not take 2 min when the hot water went off. I needed to finish with the cold one. When they cleaned the room, they didnt touch the toilet bin and we did not get new toiletries. For the room experience - 3 stars! All the rest together with: The staff, the program, the breakfast was extra great! 5 stars! Recommendations: Book at least deluxe room, you get complimentary wine and chocolates and much better service. In my opinion those sort of rooms that we had should not exist. If you cannot give proper service, rather don’t have it at all.

Nice hotel on best location in Opatija

Best location in Opatija -- all that one might want to see or do is in a
walking distance.
Wonderful terrace- near the sea, lots of space and full of flowers in amazing colors.
One of the best breakfasts that one can imagine. Really nice dinner experience.
And excellent service.

Don't book this hotel based on the photo used!

We simply did not believe that this was the same hotel we had booked when we arrived. It is set on the busy high street, surrounded by a ground floor café with very little uninterrupted green space. In fact the 'old' hotel is dwarfed by a large modern extension which you cannot see in the picture used to publicise this hotel. I imagined an old family run hotel. In fact it is 96 beds and run by a large chain.
I had imagined sitting in a garden but in fact all of the space is taken by sunbeds ( which have to be reserved and paid for) and chairs for dining.
Having said all this it is a lovely hotel set next to the sea so we made good use of the concrete bathing area used by the locals to swim from and sunbathe on. It is set beside the Lungo Mare- a 12 k path which hugs the coastline and is very romantic to walk between villages along the coast.
The room was large and spotlessly clean. We paid for a superior with sea view. Many of the rooms overlook a park or the busy main road. There are no tea/coffee making facilities apart from a coffee machine ( expresso) and no milk provided. I argued strenuously for teabags ( to be used with hot water generated from the coffee machine) and cups and milk and this was agreed in principle and successful on one day - but staff did not provide tea/coffee on a daily basis and I simply gave up trying to get them to understand the agreed arrangement.
The wellness centre offers a small pool which is only partly opened to the air.

Inadequate utilities

I feel it is my duty to give a warning to those considering booking at Hotel Milenji. If anyone has trouble standing up from a chair, this hotel is not for you. Very simply, the toilets are too low and definitely do not meet the international standards. The staff was unwilling to provide any assistance or adequate alternatives. Notably, this hotel does not have any bathrooms equipped with handrails either, which is quite surprising for the best hotel in Opatija. The alternative room they offered had a bathtub, which demonstrated ignorance toward the situation.

The hotel manager was unavailable, and the staff gave us a number of empty promises to improve the situation. Promises of tomorrow became Monday, which became Wednesday.

In summary, I discourage others from booking at this hotel, and I would recommend that this hotel is downgraded on the quality scale because it simply doesn't meet the basic standards.

Simply lovely!

Fabulous hotel! We arrived late, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was a breeze, though the hotel is located in the heart of the congested tourist strip of Lungomare. The hotel is right on the water. Its fin de siecle decor is gorgeous, light and airy. Breakfast was phenomenal, and served in a phenomenal room(s). I have nothing but praise for this superb hotel.

3rd Time was not a charm

This was our 3rd stay over the last 5 years. all though the previous 2 stays were very nice, this last one was not up to standard. For one the rooms we had this time were not as nice as before, ie ciggi wholes in the white curtains, furniture which was never high quality in the first place, a bit worn down, maybe over time, its time to change and update, also more importantly there was a large ugly stain in the hall way right outside one of the rooms, the bed cover had a disgusting stain of I do not really know what on top of it, called maid service and the lady was nice and removed the cover and said sorry but still, yuk!! 5 star hotel, come on? We had dinner and could not wait to have the steak dinner for 2, again not as good as before, the tenderloin was not tender and had lots of chewy pieces. Some positive things that still remained were the pastries which were still up to the standard of previous, breakfast was good as before, tasty and well presented buffet style, Over all though, We believe that unless the property owners plan on spending some money, and pay attention to detail, then it should be knocked down a peg to 4 star.

great room in elegant hotel

Stayed overnight when touring Croatia. Hotel is in the center of town. Only stayed one night and travelling alone but I was given a lovely, very spacious room furnished in traditional style. Reception staff very welcoming and they gave me free parking too as the car park was not full. Breakfast was good with a wide choice, buffet style. Would recommend.

Although the rooms need some face lift to meet the 5 star standard, the Hotel is an elegant and pleasant retreat for travellers. Service is fine. Breakfast was great. Service is excellant. Location was splendid, on one side the main street with shopping options, and a beautiful garden and a small harbor on the other.

Excellent position, lovely garden backing onto the sea, set in parkland. In the middle of all the action. Lovely old hotel with wellness centre pool, etc. Charming helpful staff. Rooms, as the rest of the decor in the hotel, a little tired, but clean and well maintained.

Nice surprise

Beware star rating standards in Croatia, most all hotels are greatly overrated. This is a 4 star hotel with incidental elements of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was a very nice surprise. Room was great with great views but transformable sofa bed almost unsleapable. Overall, neat hotel with solid service, great breakfast and fabulous position.

Struttura storica di fronte al mare in pieno centro, camere completamente ristrutturate da poco con mobilio e boiserie di lusso senza tralasciare il bagno: bellissimo. Piscina rotonda riscaldata di dimensioni contenute ma sufficienti per una nuotata, bagno turco nuovo e sauna invece più datata: servizi spa molto validi ma con costi superiori alla media croata. Ristorante Argonauti sovrastimato rispetto al costo: in zona si può mangiare meglio in bei ristoranti & ad un prezzo inferiore: colazione continentale buona ma migliorabile come ampiezza dell’offerta. Parking coperto, personale molto gentile e professionale. Ci torneremo volentieri!

dröhnene Tanzmusik bis 1h30 nachts - wers mag....

Das Hotel ist toll, keine Frage. So ein Frühstück bekommt man wirklich selten. Der Wellness Bereich ist wunderbar.
Aber dass zu Weihnachten die Glühwein Standln gegenüber ab Vormittag extrem laute Musik spielen, ist ein Horror. Dazu kam, dass die Heizung im Zimmer zwar abgedreht war, es aber so unerträglich heiß war, dass wich gerne die Balkontür geöffnet hätte. Wenn die offen war, war die Musik so laut, dass man im ZImmer nicht mehr unterhalten konnte.
War die Balkontür zu war es sofort stickig im ZImmer, das nicht besonders groß war - und man hörte immer noch jedes Bumm Bumm von Macarena, Bamboleo etc.
Natürlich kann das Hotel nichts dafür. Mir wurde aber jeden Abend versichert, dass es am nächsten Tag vorbei sei.
Das war leider nicht der Fall, es ging zwar nicht mehr bis 1h30, aber bis 23h oder 22h - - da sist wirklcih iene Zumutung. Man konnte einfach nicht zwischendurch im Zimmer sein, weil es dort dröhnte wie in der Disco vom Jugendgästehaus.
Andere Gäste auf der anderen Hotelseite sagten, sie hören es genauso laut - eine echte Katastrophe, wenn man zu Weihnachten etwas Ruhe am Meer möchte.
Wie gesagt: Hotel absolut in Ordnung und Top, aber mit DER Umgebung nicht zumutbar (und es war auch noch am 27.12. bis in die Nacht laut. Erholungswert null.
Auf meine Beschwerde wurde mir dann die Gebühr für die Garage erlassen. Immerhin, aber trotzdem ein furchtbarer Urlaub. Ich bin nicht abgereist, weil immer gesagt wurde, es hört am nächsten Tag auf...

In Summe ein Top-Hotel in wunderbarer Umgebung mit sehr gutem Service!
Leider war unser Zimmer überheizt und die Klimaanlage konnte nicht entsprechend reguliert werden!

Tolles Hotel an der Küste

Hotel ist sehr sauber, liegt zentral und direkt an der Küste. Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das hoteleigene Parkhaus kostet 20€/Nacht. Zimmer sind groß und sehr sauber. Spa-Bereich ist sehr schön. Die Massagen sehr zu empfehlen. Der Pool und Jakuzzi sehr einladend. Es stehen Obst, Tee und Wasser kostenlos zur Verfügung. Der Spa-Bereich ist zur Küste hin offen und man kann von dort aus ins Meer, ansonsten kann man sich draußen auf den Liegen gemütlich machen. Hier wird man von den Kellern auch bedient. Das einzige was an dem Hotel nicht in Ordnung ist, ist dass man die Liegen bezahlen muss. Egal ob für 1 Stunde oder ganzen Tag, es werden 10€/Liege kassiert. Bisher noch nie so etwas erlebt.

Recepção muito bonita, pessoal muito simpatico, café da manhã maravilhoso, mas os quartos não condizem com hotel 5 estrelas. O box tinha sujo de mofo e os ladrilhos do banheiro estavam soltando.Tapete velho com cheiro de poeira. Lençóis e travesseiros maravilhosos.Local execelente perto de tudo.
