We just finished a three night stay at the Hotel Ambassador in Split, Croatia. We were very please with the service we received from the reception desk, housekeeping and from the dining staff. The room was lovely with views of the Riva and the sea. We especially appreciated fresh bottled water and chocolates left on our pillow. We would definitely stay again if we return to Split.

Location, location, location! This hotel not only has a perfect location, which is walking distance to all of the old town and split but also has a spectacular view with beautiful modern rooms and a great service. You’re also next to the harbor, which will take you to any of the islands on the ferry. It’s only a 15 minute walk. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody staying in split

This hotel is way Over priced your only paying for the prime location with seafront and ocean view. Premium rooms not up to standards of a five star hotel cramped very little comforts inadequate seating . Too much furniture and fittings awkward to move around. Cheap bit of carpet under the bed area.

On the positive side excellent quality of toiletries. Balcony room view excellent of the ocean and Split. Excellent breakfast buffet and al a crate menu

Great hotel, but like the sandals (owned by Birkenstock) can be lacking in detail, small towels no turndown service but classed as 5 star, small menu for supper, lacking in choice but visually a beautiful hotel with some tremendous staff who go over and above to help. Room lovely view over the harbour beautiful but light switches a challenge and safe at ground level difficult if you have knee replacements!

Most rooms in hotels where we pay extra for a view, it’s not worth it — but this time the view was spectacular and made a difference to our stay. Right over the harbor, the lights below were so amazing and beautiful and felt special.
We were quite happy with everything: the room was not huge but very clean; the beds were extremely comfortable; the shower was hot; gorgeous view. What’s not to like?
I also had one of best massages ever (Anna) for a relatively reasonable rate, I would never have expected that from a hotel spa.
The only part that could have been better for us: the gym was quite small and very crowded for such a nice hotel.

It’s a lovely hotel within easy walking distance of the Old Town. The staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke excellent English. We used the spa facilities often. The rooms were great with an excellent view of the old town. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel if they wanted to visit Split.

Stellar stay

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Ambasador for a quick 2-night stay in Split. The hotel is very modern and situated right up to the boardwalk/west end of the Riva. It was a very convenient location to spend our time walking around town. The morning breakfast service that was included was just what I was hoping for with fresh fruit and juices, gluten free options, and an acai bowl (among other delicious options). They also accommodated plant milk preferences with oat and almond.

We opted for a room with a sea view and were so glad we did! It was amazing to be able to look out to Diocletian’s palace and see the activity around town.

We also had a chance to enjoy the onsite gym and spa. The gym was small, but had what we needed. They had several stations in the spa to accommodate contrast therapy, with two saunas and various cold stations. The spa was complimentary, but you can opt for a paid treatment service as well.


We HIGHLY recommend Hotel Ambasador whenever you’re exploring Split or the surrounding area. Thank you again for the splendid accommodations!

Top stay at Ambassador Split - hotel was very quiet (hey, it was January) but service top notch and the rooms are beautiful. Special shout out to Allum who was in charge of the truly amazing breakfasts. Location is excellent - just off the Rive.

We were ending our two week trip around Croatia and we were flying out of Split. So we stayed here for two nights to relax and enjoy Split for a little bit only because the weather was bad so we spent it mostly in the hotel. Amazing bed shower and views. It’s a very clean property, as well as housekeeping did a great job during our stay. We got rained out on our last night so we decided to have a late dinner and drinks at the hotels bar. The food was very good and the drinks were even better. The bartenders were beyond amazing with great service and creating delicious drinks. We loved them. Overall we had an excellent stay!
I would like to add that we didn’t get help taking our 6 pieces of luggage to our room which would have been nice since it is a 5 star hotel.
Breakfast could be a little better. Like adding a toaster or more hot items.

Lovely clean modern hotel with friendly staff. Rooms nice but would have liked a bath. Grest location on the seafront. A few comments:

A) breakfast is good but the same every day which gets boring after a couple of days. Would have liked more vegan options too...smoothies or crepes or burritos made to order would have made a nice change.

B) most nights, the best tables on the outdoor terrace are reserved for yacht crew who are not staying at the hotel. This is annoying for those staying here.

C) the pool is small. As well as an ankle-deep paddling area there is just one lane big enough to swim in and it usually full of people chatting. Don't expect anything more than an occasional dip at off peak times.

Lovely hotel and holiday but for the price, we expected a bit more.

Stunning hotel in an enviable location. This place doesn’t come cheap but upon staying here, you understand how they can justify the rates! Rooms are slightly smaller than I expected but are equipped to a very high standard and are decorated extremely tastefully. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. The main street side bar is spacious with plenty of comfortable seating with incredible views over the port which usually has luxury eye watering yachts moored up! The drinks selection is high end and widespread. The staff will mix any drinks/cocktails at your request. The dining area has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating depending on weather. We only used the breakfast service which was absolutely sensational. The pool area is gorgeous. Food from the pool bar was limited choice but extremely high quality. Drinks were below average if I’m honest. Another complaint was the amount of loungers and furniture for the number of hotel rooms at the property. Lots of folk were just sitting/laying on the floor during our stay but that said, the weather was stunning and encouraged a lot of sunbathing and relaxing during our stay. Staff were courteous and helpful throughout. We didn’t use any of the indoor spa facilities. We wouldn’t hesitate revisiting this brilliant hotel.

Hotel was nice overall. The rooms are awkwardly laid out so it is very tight to move around. Most of the staff were nice but there was one guy who was rude and didn’t seem interested in helping us.
Location is great and they do have underground parking although it’s $35 euro/night. Breakfast was good.

Beautiful hotel, we got a room with a balcony and water view and it was absolutely worth it, great to top the night off with a drink and watch the world and the boats go by. The hotel team were super friendly from reception to restaurant and bar. Excellent continental breakfast with a menu option of omelettes / eggs benedict etc included. Perfect location to get to all the sights of Split
