Welcome to Jamala Wildlife Lodge, the ultimate overnight safari at the National Zoo & Aquarium and Canberra's first luxury lodge experience. You will meet many of the most dangerous and endangered species on earth and learn how you can help their survival.

There are three magnificent accommodation options Ushaka Lodge, Giraffe Tree Houses and Jungle Bungalows each with their own unique wildlife experience.
Located in Canberra, Jamala Wildlife Lodge is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Lake Burley Griffin and National Arboretum Canberra. This all-inclusive hotel is 4.5 mi (7.3 km) from Canberra Hospital and 4.9 mi (7.9 km) from Canberra Centre.

OMG this place is so amazing. Five star all the way. We stayed in Lemur room 2 and they hung out mostly on our side. Food was out of this world. Staff are so accommodating and friendly. The zoo is amazing and the tour in the morning was so good. The young man was so great and I cannot explain how beautiful this was. I would love to go back again. xxxx

This is a 'must do'! From arrival to departure it could not be faulted. The zoo is super - lots of activities for kids without having to be looking at animals all the time, plenty of places to sit and enjoy your own snacks without having to purchase everything. And the accommodation is next level...rooms are large and beautifully presented, meals were superb and service was exceptional. Absolutely 5 stars!!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay. From the minute we walked in until we left the next day. The people were incredible. Very attentive, kind and accomodating. The food was beyond fabulous. We had an amazing dinner with multiple courses and all were superb! Our giraffe feeding treehouse was impeccably furnished and very clean. The giraffe feeding experience as well as the guided tour were fun and informative. If you get a chance, go to this place it will not disappoint!

Amazing experience for your bucket list
This stay was the highlight of my trip. The cost of the room was worth every cent. From the moment you were checked in, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel stay includes extras like, afternoon high tea and drinks on arrival. Small group tour of the zoo, and extra access areas. We stayed in the giraffe treehouse, which was lovely and we got to feed the giraffes from the balcony.
Pre dinner drinks and a lovely three course meal with drinks. My other favourite was wondering the zoo early morning before it opens. Hearing the lions wake up. Wow. Breakfast included before check out and free zoo time if you choose.

We walked in to the reception and our bags were checked in, we were ushered into the lodge and had afternoon tea. The service started at the front door and never ended. We then went for a guided zoo tour. Dinner was just amazing, with a great wine list. Fed about three animals! Just an amazing experience!

A truly unique experience. Every aspect of the stay was first class. The two-day program was full of amazing encounters. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave very detailed explanations about the animals and the program at the wildlife lodge. This was an absolutely incredible experience. Very much unique and one of a kind adventure. The WOW tour was one of the best tours we have done and would highly recommend it. The accommodation was wonderful with a great room and the view of Hummer the giraffe was fantastic for us and the children. An awesome place to celebrate a special occasion. From arrival we were treated as special guests with every need catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. The canapes, dinner and breakfast were superb as were the staff who were taking care of us. The little and unexpected things were all ticked here, bed turned back with a little treat left. In fact I could write an essay of praise but that could spoil it for the next guests if I told you everything. We live interstate and had only recently heard of Jamala and it was on our bucket list, lucky for those who live much closer as it is also a wonderful day trip to the well set out zoo. Plenty to keep the kids (and big kids) entertained and two areas to grab a bite to eat, one much larger and with ample grounds and a kids adventure park.
On a serious note this place is to be highly commended for the unique combination of hospitality supporting animal welfare not just locally but worldwide.

Activities and facilities were great. And actually most of the staff were pretty nice and friendly. The only thing I don’t like was the service for dinner. The meal actually pretty good but one of the waiters messed up with food we have ordered and did not apologize! Also, they have arranged all Asian together and did not introduce the dishes as others! I hope that was not arranged by purpose, at least the manager for us checking out said so.
