Hotel Vittoria was such a pleasant experience. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great and the view from the balcony was A+. It’s a bit tucked away (as is everything in Positano) but I would suggest doing your search for those who have mobility issues. Porter service was incredible as well. Would love to come back if we end up in Positano again. Thanks for such a pleasant experience

Couldn’t fault the hotel and the free porter service, as to reach the hotel involved 270 steps. Breakfast was lovely and the view from the hotel well worth the steps. We were also closest to the quieter beach which was lovely. Was just missing a kettle and tea & coffee facilities. We were close to nearby restaurants and was nice to be outside the main centre of Positano but was near enough to visit.

My mom and I loved Hotel Vittoria. It’s a little bit further from the main beach area, which made it super quiet and secluded. We loved that even though Positano was super crowded, it didn’t feel like it at our hotel. The staff was so sweet and breakfast was included! We will definitely be back

Great location and friendly staff. Beds, however, were not comfortable. Also we got a triple room for two of us to insure we would have separate beds and they would not put sheets or blankets on the 2nd bed. We had to re explain every night why we needed sheets and blankets on the other bed and one night they said housekeeping was gone and they couldn’t help. It was very frustrating.

For the price point, the hotel offered good accommodations and great views of the coast. While there were other hotels available but at a higher price point.

Be ready to walk up and down steps to get to dining, shopping, the beach and public transportation options.

The breakfast, although very similar every morning was good enough to get a good start on your day. The staff were very pleasant and easy to work with. They offered Porter services to bring your luggage from the ferry to and back from the hotel, which was very helpful.
Overall, a recommended hotel.

Very nice and clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and polite. Breakfast was an excellent choice ranging from pastries to bacon and eggs to fruit. Tea or coffee on order and nothing was too much trouble. We managed to check in early after an awful lot of steps but it was well worth it for the view from our room. Would definitely stay agin if we came back to Positano!

Very hospitable and friendly staff. It was great to have breakfast included and that Pupetto beach club was close to our hotel as well as the bus stop was close to the hotel. The bed was memory foam so it was comfortable to sleep on. The room was very big and clean and it was great to have 2 balconies that had a good view. The only downsides were the bidet sink didn’t drain fast, there were a few ants crawling in the bathroom shower/tub and sink, and the shower head holder was loose. Kudos to the porters for carrying heavy luggages up and down the stairs. Overall, I would consider staying at this hotel again for the price and convenience.

Hotel is with great views close to the beach. The staff is very helpful and accommodating with all of our requests. Our only issue is how high on the hill it was. It literarily had 1500 steps to the beach. It was so exhausting that we preferred to stay in some days just to avoid the steps.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Vittoria. The staff and the service was fantastic. The free breakfast was excellent with many options and pastries, and the guy there made us perfect cappuccinos every morning which we enjoyed on the outdoor patio with a breathtaking view. The location was perfect for us, a few steps up to the main road with all the restaurants and shops, and (more than) a few steps to the smaller, more private beach where we enjoyed the sunshine. The hotel was immaculately clean and well cared for, and the front desk was very knowledgeable and helped us with all our questions and arranging transportation, etc. The room was perfect for a romantic getaway with a nice view even in the standard room, in addition to being clean and spacious. Fresh beach towels were available daily.

I remember seeing a lot of posts about the steps— if you want to avoid steps you should avoid Positano. There isn’t a single hotel that you could stay in without steps, the city is essentially vertical! And we felt that the location was exactly what we wanted and wasn’t an unmanageable amount of steps, plus the hotel porter made baggage transport a breeze.

We hope to stay here again in the future and would recommend to friends, especially for a romantic trip.

Beautiful views, but you've got to earn it with a pretty good hike up some stairs. Hotel staff was very accommodating. Just ask for their porter service and it's free with tip for the porters. That was extremely helpful. Breakfast was perfect and their service was excellent. Would not recommend the sister restaurant Puppetto's unless you're getting pizza, it's very over priced. If you want to do a beach day, make sure you go earlier as the sun sets behind the cliff earlier there than the big beach. But it's well worth the smaller crowd and prettier beach. Lots of good walking and views right from the hotel. We would definitely come back here if we were staying in Positano. Thanks again!

Bait-and-switch, insect infested motel, long hike

This is listed as a waterfront property, but it’s a grueling hike from the beach. There are over 250 steps, and that’s AFTER a 10min uphill walk. Positano has a lot of stairs, but many hotels can be reached after a few dozen steps, not hundreds. My friend is healing from a leg injury so we chose this place based on the beachfront photos (that are actually photos of another hotel nearby) and waterfront description in the listing, so that we could avoid too much climbing. The only water visible from the hotel is a sliver of ocean view visible from the breakfast area. There is no mention of any climb in the listing.

We had an infestation of insects in our room. We called the front desk, and when the concierge came to our room he told us it was fine because these bugs don’t bite, and then left us with the bugs. You could not walk in the room without stepping on them. They weren’t cleaned up until housekeeping came the next day.

This hotel also has a curfew. We invited two guests to our room. Shortly after, we received a call telling us our guests needed to leave, not because we were making noise or disturbing other guests (I asked), but because he wanted to close the hotel. Presumably this means hotels guests are locked in/out after a certain hour? The concierge threatened to call the police on our guests on their way out. I’m not sure what about 4 adults quietly enjoying a drink in their room, then leaving calmly when asked, warrants a call to the police?

The Hotel Vittoria Positano was lovely. A pretty hotel a short walk from Spaggio Fornillo and close enough to the center of Positano while still being quiet. Views from the deck were breath taking. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was perhaps the best we had in all of Italy.

Bring your walking shoes because all of Positano is a \"vertical\" city. You are either going up or coming down stairs to get anywhere.

Our Trip Was Amazing. We stayed three nights at this hotel. All of the staff was just amazing, but special shout-out to Roberta and afranchisco . Just amazing people. Breakfast was nice and they set the table for you (something lucxury for us US travelers) .. they do every effort to make your trip good. The view from hotel is breathtaking and they have access to the private beach.

Great Hotel in Positano with access to a private beach. On the quiet side of town away from the crowds but easily walkable to restaurants and shopping. Room was spacious. The couch was converted to a bed for our daughter. Loved the terrace. Bathroom had a shower and a tub. Breakfast was good and the staff were very nice.

The staff at Vittoria were incredible. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very warm, welcoming, and helpful. The photos do not do justice because the room was much nicer and larger than expected! They have great breakfast and the staff making coffee and cleaning tables were always so friendly and kind. It is in a great location too. It's right before it gets very busy with shopping so its a nice quiet area but there are still a ton of great restaurants within walking distance. If I come back to Positano, I will absolutely stay here again.

This hotel is a gem in Positano. It’s close to great restaurants and the main town center but also has access to a more private beach which has restaurants and services on it. I’ve seen some negative reviews about the steps. Listen, if you don’t want to climb steps, don’t go to Positano. Wherever you stay if you want to venture out you’ll be climbing steps. That being said, the way down to the beach is beautiful. The most amazing views and plants.

Christistina was especially helpful and informative. The breakfast service was awesome. The only negative is the STEPS. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel. Room was nice and clean. We were greatful for the help with our luggage when leaving. There is a self service laundry up on the hill we used as we were spending a month in Italy. The staff there was also very nice and helpful.

The hotel is average and needs some TLC. Breakfast OK and could have been much better. The rooms were noisy very early in the mornings. The view from the restaurant was nice.
Best about this hotel was the restaurant at the top of the hill called Il Fornillo which has the one of the best pizzas.
I arranged a taxi pick up from Naples and it was worth it although I was not told that someone from the hotel will be at hand in the main St to help with the luggage. Luckily I have Google maps to know where the hotel was.

I loved this little place!

The staff are just so friendly - really happy to help out anyway that they can, be it a porter to help you down the “steps of Positano” - or just simple coffee at breakfast.

Views are beautiful - access to the beach down the steps - 268 on the way back up. Good for the exercise!

Breakfast is an absolute winner - so cute, lovely selection of fruits, eggs, breads, pastries, yoghurts, honestly, one of my favourite parts of the day - we got up there for 8am - perfect timing for the gorgeous sunshiney view! Coffee selection is lovely also.

I just couldn’t fault it - I cant wait to go back! The location we felt was fantastic for what we wanted.

Overall a good hotel especially for the price!! When people say there are steps down to the beach they mean STEEP,STEEP steps lol it is definitely a journey down to the beach from there but you do have direct access once you get down all the stairs and there is 3 places you can rent chairs from and a couple of restaurants to eat and get drinks from. But if you rent from hotel Pupetto they are the cheapest and you get a discount because of staying at this hotel. and if you go up about 15-20 stairs out of the entrance of the hotel you will be right on the main road of Positano so you can either travel up or down to get to restaurants. Water pressure was great, air conditioner was pretty good although because of the heat I wish it was a little cooler. Housekeeping was perfect. Breakfast has all the regulars for continental- eggs, croissants, coffee, juices, toast. Afternoon front desk could have been a little nicer- I felt I was annoying her everytime I went to ask a question. Overall happy with this hotel and would definitely return.

Wonderful Stay in Positano!

Hotel Vittoria was the perfect place to stay during our first trip to Positano! Out of the touristy areas, close enough to easily walk (several different route options through the winding roads or a path along the coast), and an amazing view with the included breakfast each morning. The staff was amazing, Carla was so helpful. We will definitely be back!

Walls were a little thin in room 53, could hear the next room in their bathroom. There was an automatic light that would come on in the bedroom when movement was detected - this was only an issue when waking up in the night.

Great Stay in Hotel Vittoria

My sister and I stayed at Hotel Vittoria over Easter 2019. We had a basic room with 2 twin beds. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was large and the shower was fantastic. We had a small patio with 2 chairs overlooking the back side of Positano. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and we enjoyed the convenience of fruit and cappucino in the morning (they also had eggs, toast, yogurts, pastries). The walk from the hotel to a secluded beach was easy and there is a path from the secluded beach to the main positano was quick. Carla and all of the conceirge staff were very helpful, booking us transport and restuarant reservations. Like all hotels in Positano, Hotel Vittoria is accessible by steps. It is a bit difficult to find at first from the SITA bus stop, but it's very well located.

Super cute property with superb staff. Tucked away on the other beach of Positano, so quieter than the main beach area and the hotels nearby there. There is a lovely beach path that gets you over to the main beach, just be prepared for stairs on the way back up to the hotel! Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend! Gentleman at breakfast was fantastic and staff was very friendly and accommodating!

Booked a room with full view, got a partial view and was told i could upgrade for 10€ for the room I was expecting. Bed and sofa bed were less than comfortable and honestly, that’s my biggest complaint. Otherwise, Carla was amazing and the rest of their team...very friendly and accommodating. Their WiFi was pretty bad too, but so was most of rural Italy in my expierence. Take note, the hotel is a short hike down hill down some stairs, but if it rains then those stairs turn into a waterfall...no joke. I can laugh about it now, but walking your luggage up whilst getting soaked from below and above, not so good.

Anyway, hotel is a great price for what you get and for the location!

Staff so friendly. Room was big for 2 people n cleaned daily. Breakfast was continental so toast, cereal, croissants, yoghurts with eggs and fresh fruit. Coffee made tò how you want it. Beach is approx 300 steps down from hotel n steps are steep. Hard coming up but beach worth it. Pebble beach so beach shoes reqd. As staying at hotel discount on sunbeds, so 16 euros. Cheaper than other beaches. Hotel near restaurants for evening meal. Would reccommend as great value compared to others higher up. Which equated to even more steps.

The room was clean. The property offers a continental restaurant. However, there is no information about the need for help with suitcases at arrival. There are hundred of steps from where the taxi drops you off to your hotel. If it wasn't for our taxi driver who called the hotel, we would of had to carry our suitcases. There is a porter in the hotel that will come to get your suitcases. The hotel is far from town and there is not restaurant in site. The front desk staff were not to nice or helpful. Frankly the lady kept talking all the phone during our check in

Hotel Vittoria: Loud hallways and bright lights!

We stayed at the Hotel Vittoria in late April 2018. You can read about all the wonderful things about the hotel in other reviews. This was our least favorite hotel on our trip (and it wasn't bad). But you should know these things. First, you will hear other guests when they are traveling to their room. The hotel hallway is like an amplified echo chamber. Second, there is a motion detector light in the room near the door. If you or your wife have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, prepare to get blasted by a very bright light. And be sure to apologize to your spouse who is now blinded and fully awake. Finally, perhaps the cleaning person was just grumpy that day but we requested a late check out (they gave us an extra half hour) and when we left our room we rode the elevator with the cleaning person. Well, if the she could have burned us to ashes with her look and attitude, well, I wouldn't be here to write this. So I have to take the friendliness quotient down a notch.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It had that unique Italian feel to it. The room was excellent, the view was amazing, and we would stay here again. My only warning to travelers is, there are MANY steps to get to this hotel. We are physically fit people and we struggled with the steps. It is worth it to get a taxi, take the public bus, or use the luggage porters available at the dock.

So clean and a great location.

The room was the least expensive I could find at the last minute. Prices ranged from $130 to $1795 per night, so I quickly booked this one. The location was great, and the room was so clean! No art on the walls at all, but I guess I didn't pay for art. The breakfast was fabulous, the people at the hotel were all friendly and helpful. English spoken very well. Parking was up the street at a special price for the hotel of 15 euro per night. Schepping our bags down to the hotel and back up to the car when we left was not fun, but the hotel offered someone to come and get them for us if we needed it. Steps to the beach (250, I think) were our exercise for the day, so that was ok too. Our room had a balcony that wasn't very private, as it was only separated by potted plants from the neighboring room, but thankfully we were the only ones out in the morning. But all in all, I would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind taking the steps.

Lovely hotel, excellent friendly staff.
Positano is on a steep hill meaning lots of steps everywhere. The hotel has a private beach but there are 250 steps down to the beach, and, 250 steps back to the hotel probably making it a poor choice for the not quite as fit as they'd like to be.
There is a nice bar at the beach too but after a couple of prosecco those 250 steps feel like 500

Wonderful traditional italian hotel

Wonderful room with a view which had terrace, Hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere, all staff friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast on hotel terrace very traditional italian perfect start to the day .. highly recommend this lovely small traditional hotel.

Hotel Vittoria was a great hotel, not far from Fornillo Beach. You can rent beach chairs and charge drinks/food to the room. The room was very comfortable and spacious and even had a nice balcony.

Fantasic stay- highly recommended

We loved the Hotel Vittoria. Our room was much larger than expected, fresh, bright and airy with beautiful floor tiles and freshly painted walls. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. The location was excellent, within easy walking distance of the beach and the main town. There are a LOT of steps down to the beach but that is the case with most places in Positano. We ate in the beach restaurant a couple of times- you can charge the bill back to your room to save carrying cash. Its also worth mentioning that if you are leaving Positano via the port, there are porters that can transport your bags down to beach level- we were very grateful for this service! I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting Positano.

Great staff, great views

Each of the staff members treated us with the utmost professionalism and kindness! Views from room and breakfast/restaurant terrace are wonderful. Access to Beach is easy and short walk to the city center. Staff recommended dinner options and gave advice on sightseeing.

Very nice hotel

The owners of the hotel were very friendly. This hotel has a great view, very good restaurants nearby and was very close to a smaller beach. The room was very spacious and clean, the tiles on the floor and on the bathroom give it a very typical touch to it. We loved it and would definitely come back!

Clean and Well-Appointed Hotel

Hotel was about 900 feet and 72 steps downhill from the bus stop. Easy getting there but more of a challenge when leaving. I'd stay there again. Located in less touristy part of town.

Good location with friendly staff

This hotel has a great location and a great partnership with a nearby hotel puppeto which gives you discounts to their AMAZING restaurant, beachside cafe & also lets you use their sun lounges without needing cash (handy when at the beach!)

The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the porter service is incredible.

My only negative was the room. The bed was 2 singles pushed together and it was a very hard and uncomfortable mattress. The window came off its hinges when we tried to open it. The sounds of Positano travelled down/up the hill into our room all during the night and also sounds within the hotel; footsteps, talking, lifts, etc.

Sweet, clean and just right

The hotel is down about 80-90 steps from the road (Grotto di Furnillo is the bus stop/where taxis drop you), be prepared to carry your bags down (and up!) the steps. The hotel is located right next to the church, so follow the steps down from the Grotto, take the left stairs when you have a choice and it will be in front of you. Very nice staff, nice breakfast, good views from the rooms. Clean, comfortable bed, strong shower. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner. Nice views from the top terrace to have a drink or just relax.
