We arrived early (11am) and the staff helped us to hasten the check in. Instead of 3pm, they helped us to settle down with our weary children at around 1pm instead. They also provided us with Brolly when we were stuck due to a rain.

However we felt management were very genuine is their action to help us understand what happened, and were interested in our feedback. They went OVER AND ABOVE our expectations to make amends. 10 min walk to Legoland, through Medini Mall which has food options and a supermarket. Much cheaper than Legoland hotel. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel because it's bento boxes. As some reviews have mentioned, the property is a bit old. It's also next to a hospital so we saw hospital staff and patient/ family in the hotel. Generally the hotel is quiet and clean. Easy enough to go around with Grab.

We were satisfied for the price we paid for our stay. Property was essentially a serviced apartment, however the doors and corridors as well as some parts of our rooms were worn. The room was generally clean and comfortable. We were served by Nick at the front counter and she was very welcoming and thoughtful. Walking distance to Legoland although we did not visit it this trip.

Arrived at 3:45 but could not check in and had to wait more than 1 hour. This must be the issue in Expedia or the agency between the hotel and Expedia, there waa an issue regarding room type for our stay. We requested 2 bed rooms with 1 king bed and twin beds but the room was 2 bed rooms with 1 king bed for each room. It was very bad experience and would like to ask Expedia to check the reason and some compensation.

The hotel is excellent for its price, great location if visiting Legoland and great food at nearby locations around Bukit Indah (by taxi or car around 5-10 mins).

Room condition is very good and room amenities is excellent for a short couple stay.

Hotel staff are very courteous and helpful during check-in, stay and check-out.

Fantastic Service Apartment for Family

This service apartment is just beside Legoland and Gleneagles Hospital, so if you need to find a place to stay, whether for a family to have fun in Legoland or to visit family members at the hospital, this would be a great place to stay. It is also very near the Tuas Second Link(15-20mins drive). There is a Medini Mall just beside as well.

There was a big jam at the customs and we arrived at the hotel just past midnight. The receptionists(1 male and 1 female) were both very friendly and the check in was fast.

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment. It came with 2 bedrooms with 1 queen sized bed and 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms(1 with tub), 1 kitchen and 1 living room. The space is not huge but fine for 4 persons. The rooms were clean and tidy. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen. Though there is a kettle, you can also get water from the water dispenser along the corridor.

If you are driving, there is a parking charge, though not excessive. For a 3N2D stay, you pay RM10 for unlimited in and out of carpark.

I like the room cards which are wooden.

The location of the property is strategic that you don’t even need to drive and you can skip scorching sun in the noon from legoland to rest till 4pm to go back to theme park again.
Staff are very friendly and service is excellent.
However the property seems to have been years without doing much upgrading maintenance. So there might be some small marks here and there in room. But still for the price is good value for family stay. And the room deco is just nice that makes you feel like home in a hotel.
It would be good if there is additional amenities for diy laundry service.

Don’t get the corner unit cuz there’s no Wi-Fi Signal there. The 2 bedrooms come in 2 bathroom but one bathroom is really dirty. The toilet is literally yellow color. The one bedroom is actually a lot nicer than the two bedrooms.

Location is great if you are going to legoland.

Room condition - poorly maintained, bathrooms had weird smell (never went away in the 3 days we stayed), bedroom floor had water damage, beds were not comfortable (bedsheets were scratchy), room had a musky smell, did not seem clean.

I loved the view. I was on the 21st floor and the view was unblocked. We were facing Legoland and its surrounding areas.

The property was great overall for the price we paid. It was an affordable room, breakfast was 25ringgit and had more variety than expected, staffs were polite, toilets were clean.

I would come back again.

Thankfully it was better on Tuesday. Location is good, just walking distance to Legoland but I think the cleanliness and service can be better.

I liked the fact that there was a lot of shelf space to put your items and having a microwave is really helpful. My room did have a broken body soap bottle in the toilet which was still usable but it would have been better if it was replaced with proper non cracked one before I checked in.

Wrote in to hotel to check on some details, was routed to customer service team but totally no reply from them. Check-in time was supposed to be 3pm, we have 3 rooms, one got check-in at 5pm (with no towels available), one at 8pm and last at 10pm!!! When we request for late check-out due to the disruption they have caused, the most is 1pm cos their rooms are back to back. When I request for 1 extra bottle of water, was told they don't have anymore stock!

Room floor n wall looks old n dirty, gaggle cup in toilet was dirty with a very big piece of green stuff that looks like vegetable or alge.

I'm not a picky person when it comes to hotel, but this is definitely the worst and I'll never ever step in again. To think they are still under ascotts group , what a shame.

Property is near to Legoland. An alternative accommodation choice . Is a service apartment that only comes with alternate housekeeping service . This would mean if you are staying for 3D 2N, there will be no housekeeping until the day you check out.
Lots of ants and the apartment is pretty dusty.

2nd Stay this year

2nd stay this year for 3N. Had a room on a much higher floor last time than now. Not sure if it’s due to our late check in that we had this room with conditions much poorer than the last time. The floor felt oily and sticky when we first stepped in. The cutlery were sticky so I hv to washed all of them before using. The water in the bath room started to choke on our 2nd night. The Aircon was not cold.
But the staff was quick to react. We called reception on our 2nd morning as the Aircon controller was not working. Technician came almost immediately. After fixing the controller I told him about the almost blown light bulb in the kitchenette and he came back to fix immediately.
I also told him the phone was not working and he got his colleague to change a new set almost immediately too.

Location is perfect if you are going to Legoland. Its just across the road from Medini Mall and Legoland. There is a 24h 7-11 in the premise. Excellent facilities such as swimming pool, gym and kids play room.

The 3 bedroom apartment has kitchen with washing machine, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, cookware, plates and cutlery essential.

It also has hair dryer, iron + ironing board and safe for your valuables.

Can see sign of wear and tear in the apartment but overall its still in decent shape.

Only complaint is the toilet cleanliness. The bathtub drain is full of hair and the drain of toilet in the 1 bedroom apartment that I also booked was blocked.

We have a pleasant stay and will book the same place again the next time we are going to legoland.

We visit JB quite frequently and Somerset Medini has always been our family’s choice of accommodation in JB for many years now. However, we noticed that the condition and upkeep of the property has deteriorated by quite a bit in our recent stays. Carpets, chairs and bedsheets were stained; towels were thin and torn; wooden flooring cracked and sticky and even bedroom and toilet doors couldn’t close properly. It was not welcoming and comfortable at all. No longer a home away from home. The Ascot Group May have to seriously look into this.

We lived in a 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was big and response from hotel staff was fast. The front office staff were nice and friendly. The price was reasonable in view of the size of the apartment and the convenient location to legoland (just 5 minutes walk). A big problem was the unpleasant odour of the washroom, although we have requested the staff to come over to tidy it again. The quality of the grab and go breakfast was just average.

great stay. only spoiled by bogus parking fee

room was nice, clean and neat. though our room had several defects with the shower heads but they were minor. Staff was friendly. the stay was great till the last day when we were slapped with bogus additional carparking charges. Supposed to have paid 10RM for entire stay but upon check-out, the carpark attendent pointed to us that the recorded check-out date was one day prior to our actual check out date. I reminded him it was he who recorded it for us in the first place but he said we had to pay the additional 10RM. It happened to my other friend who are travelling in another car so it must have been a regular stunt for the bogus parking charges. left a sour-after taste to a supposedly nice stay at Somerset Medini.

Worst somerset ever, never stay here again

Worst somerset ever in all my stays in the Ascott group. Check in staff was very slow, condition of the room was bad, bed was dirty, toilet got stuck twice in one night, staff allowed Chinese tourists to open luggage at the lobby and change socks there making it look like a cheap motel, hotel corridor and lift was dirty. I have stayed in Ascott hotels most of the time but this is the worst somerset ever. I can’t imagine this sort of quality for the brand.
