Very comfortable hotel in a good location.
Very comfortable bed with sea views from the balcony.
breakfast was good with a selection of different items.
the hotel is located on a hill within 5 minutes walk to the beaches, however the return walk up the gradients require a reasonable state of fitness, but you can easily drive and park the car out of season.

It is adequate but certainly not as nice as the pictures posted. The pool is down a hill close to a camp ground. Lots of cute wild cats living in the brush by it. It was fine but the pictures are a little deceiving.

Second time we have stayed in 2 years.
Got a room on ground floor , 1 of 3 , still with a sea view but with intrusive noise from reception area and people waiting for lift, which woke me a couple of nights at 1.30 am .
Higher floor room recommended.
Property is a little old but fine.
Nestled in woods next to a camp site .
Staff are great .
Breakfast is adequate but cannot cope with peaks where run out of glasses , run out of cups and takes a whike to replenish serving dishes.
Evening meal to be avoided , tried once !
Hotel is set back on a hill so a room with sea view should be requested.
Hotel is a short walk from sea front but via a hill and stairs which appeared to get steeper everyday !
Nothing to do in area if weather turns poor.

Good choice in Palafrugell

Hotel Garbi has beautiful grounds and a nice pool. A grocery store is very nearby, and it is a short walk (down many steps) to the beach and restaurants. Wifi was spotty in my room, but the front desk loaned me a router, which worked fine.

Stayed here many times. Lovely hotel with beautiful surroundings. One day the bar was closed for staff rest which seemed a strange reason. Also, the restaurant was closed at lunchtimes but hotel advertises the restaurant being open for lunch. Given how many good things there are about the hotel, Ill definitely be coming back. Cleaning staff are amazing and work so hard

Great hotel

Overall great hotel in a good location. However, be wary that the hotel is located on a hill, so there’s quite a few steps to get back to your room.
The breakfast was really good, staff friendly, the room was recently updated and had a balcony with lovely views. However, we were really disappointed to not have a fridge in the room but they allowed us to keep a few drinks in the reception fridge. Also we managed to borrow a parasol from reception which was very handy.
The pool and breakfast area could do with a refresh but still was characterful.
In summary, good hotel with free car parking and great breakfast. I would stay here again!

The female receptionist during the late afternoon and evening hours is exceptional… The most friendly and helpful we have ever seen. The room was nice, and the view from the Seaview rooms and the balcony was also exceptional. Beautiful grounds and landscaping! There isn’t much immediately off of the property until you get into the village and beach area, which takes 15 minute walk. The trail walks along the coast line is also not to be missed… The water is crystal clear and makes for a nice snorkel. Breakfast was excellent! Not too many negatives here… The Jacuzzi needs to be turned up as it was just lukewarm.

Good location but a bit disappointing

Hotel is on the edge of Palafrugell, a lovely town with good beaches which are only a short walk. Generally we were pleased with the position and breakfast was good. The hotel itself is a little disappointing and needs upgrading and is a little outdated. For example there are no electronic keys, the safe only works with a key and the WiFi is very patchy and was non existent in our room.

Disappointing stay at Hotel Garbi

We had booked a family duplex room and this room is nothing like the nice refurbished rooms shown in the photos. It was very tired and dated. Bathroom had a bath with old shower curtain, however water pressure in the shower was very good. The upstairs bedroom area for our children was most disappointing part. It had a sofa bed with s wafer thin mattress that they could feel every spring in their back. Spiral staircase was not safe and we all bashed our heads on this moving between the Balcony and bathroom. Balcony in the room was very small and not big enough for three family to sit on. Corridor down to restaurant smelled bad and was offputting.
On the positive it was a very relaxed atmosphere at the pool area, Jacuzzi was nice and the gardens are beautiful.
Breakfast was good.
Car parking is disorganised and our car was scraped on the bumper while parked there.

We stayed in one of the bungalows which was spacious and beds were comfortable but many of the fittings were quite worn. All plates in the dining room were chipped. Used, dirty glasses were left around pool area for several days without being lifted by staff and the loungers and tables were dirty. With a deep clean and fittings upgrade, this could be a great hotel . Location is great.

Really nice and renovated rooms. Location is beautiful walking distance to the centre. Very complete with a very nice pool area. Massage services by the pool (they were great). Good food at the restaurant and live music or cooking shows organized by them .Very friendly staff. Amazing views of the ocean. Highly recommended

Affordable hotel in beautiful Palafrugell

Hotel Garbi was in a great location. Our balcony views were nice, the hotel was very affordable and the price included parking and a very nice breakfast. You can walk into town in 10 minutes or less. The hotel could use a little updating but our room was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

The property was very cute and scenic. The room was plain but big with a great view. Staff was always around to help. The breakfast had lots of options. The 3 cons: the bed had a very firm mattress, the property is high on a hill so walking back from town is a workout and there was an odd smell in the hallways and some of the common areas.

Pleasant hotel uphill from the beach

Used the hotel as a B and B as they did not seem to be interested in individual bookings for evening meals. Groups and half board clients catered for mostly. Standard room OK with comfortable bed and balcony over looking rear of hotel. Breakfast good.
Quite near the beach but 100 steps up from the top of the hill above the town, needing a torch for the main flight of 70 in the dark. Kept us fit!

Good value hotel - close to the resort but uphill on the way back !!.
We had a room in the newer part of the hotel (room 316) which had a lovely view out to sea.
Would imagine the views from the 2 higher floors would be even better.
Spacious room but did have a strange configuration in that the wardrobe was in the bathroom .
Reasonable size balcony.
The room was cleaned daily.

We had a really lovely stay at Hotel Garbi. Superb location with lovely views of the bay. The hotel is extremely well run, lovely room and balcony, very comfortable beds. extra pillows provided on request, very good shower. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the daily room service lady and the restaurant staff. The food was amazing, exceeded all expectations and it was lovely having breakfast and dinner outside on the terrace. I would thoroughly recommend Hotel Garbi as a great place to stay.Definitely good value for money.

A few details from being great..

Nice place. Stayed 3 nights. The grounds are spacious, quiet and pretty. Pool is nice when it's not overrun by a pack of adolescence kids playing water polo. No water spots should be allowed so as not to disturb others. You get only one room key. Why?? Ask for an extra towel? forget it. Want a beach/poll towel? Shell out a 10E deposit for a tiny, old towel that won't cover you on the beach. Better just buy a real towel at the Spar down the stairs to the beach. Rooms were a little tired and in need of a refresh. Breakfast is ok. Just barely. Given the dinning room I feel that they could do better than canned beans and coffee machines. Selection is slim. Cornflakes are bland and tasteless. Pineapple is canned. Got luck one morning and got strawberries. At least the scrambled were fresh made. Wouldn't take much to improve breakfast and/or the other details but why should they? Choice is limited in Calella de Palafrugell, so why bother. That's the feeling I got. Parking is free if you find a spot. Overall it's a barely a 3 star but could be a 3.5 if they tried. Sant Roc down the road looked more put together but it was booked.

Bit if a disappointment

End of season--so everything seemed to be run down.
Breakfast very good as was service.
Front desk seemed bored and more interested in looking at their mobile phones/computer screen showing You tube videos rather than in responding to us as we walked in.

Having read other's reviews we got we expected, i.e hotel on top of a hill in a very picturesque resort. We certainly came home fitter than when we went (we live in a bungalow). Uphill from the beach then lots of steps to our hotel room.

On arrival we wondered if the pool area needed a little attention. However, when we mentioned this to the staff they immediately cleaned the pool and each day got better for us. It is in a beautiful, tranquil spot, surrounded by pine trees, well maintained gardens and yet a short walk to the sea and the centre. Our room was spotless with a very comfortable bed, plenty of storage and a lovely bathroom and shower. The staff couldn't be any nicer or politer. Parking was not a problem at all. Over all we truly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back again to sit in our little corner with the wonderful view of the sea.

Friendly and helpful staff in a comfortable but not upmarket hotel. Request a room with a sea view and the high the better. You can hear through the walls easily, however, the hotel was usually very quiet at night. Lots of young families here as they are really catered for very well. We enjoyed our daily buffet breakfasts and swimming in the pool. The biggest problem was the continual lack of Internet availability and we can't understand why there is space for a fridge, but there isn't one,which is a nuisance when it's summer and you would like to at least be able to keep a drink cool.

This hotel is in a nice location up above the main area of the small town. Very nice welcome and service from the staff. Room was clean, comfortable and with a nice view of the sea. Choosing not to have a car put us at a small disadvantage,but we were able to make this friendly well run hotel the base for a great holiday. We had spectacular views over Callela from our balcony, and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere around the pool. Knowledgable staff were able to advise about public transport.We visited the amazing botanical gardens perched on the cliff at Cap Roig and spent a lot of time on the beach, or walking the cliff top path to nearby LLafranch. We took breakfast in the hotel, and enjoyed the comprehensive and well presented buffet. A good holiday experience all round

Hotel com uma area de lazer muito bonita.
Tem acesso a pe para a orla principal de passeio, mas o hotel fica em uma subida, entao se tiver dificuldade de locomoção vai precisar sair de carro para passeios.
Tem estacionamento gratuito.
Gostei muito do jantar do restaurante.
Cafe da manha maravilhoso.
O hotel é antigo, nao espere luxo, mas foi tudo otimo.

El pasillo que da al bufet, donde cojes el ascensor, para ir a recepción, huele muchísimo a comida, mal ventilado. En la habitación donde estamos alojados, la nevera no enfriaba. En el labavo el marmol estava lleno de hormigas. El precio del desayuno y la comida nos pareció muy caro por persona. Como experiencia no repetiría.

Hervorheben möchten wir die Sauberkeit, die Freundlichkeit des Personals und auch die perfekte Umgebung. Einziges Manko,wie jedes Jahr, ist das Frühstück. Hier wäre für ein Hotel dieser Klasse eine bessere Auswahl angebracht. Es schmeckt alles sehr gut, aber es ist jeden Tag dasselbe.

Hôtel très agréable, bien situé et bien tenu. Vue mer en plus. Personnel très sympathique. Piscine et jacuzzi bien entretenus. Petit déjeuner buffet avec beaucoup de choix.

Correcto para una escapada

Hemos estado el pasado fin de semana en este hotel y hemos estado muy a gusto.
Como destacable, el hotel tiene parking y se encuentra a tres minutos del paseo de Calella, lo cual, es de agradecer.
El desayuno es correcto, pero tomarlo en el jardín le da más calidad.
Hotel muy tranquilo, descanso aceptable si no fuera porque el domingo se disparó la alarma antiincendios a las 6:30 y nos despertó.

El hotel se ve antiguo, nuestra habitación era reformada no así el cuarto de baño, que tenía mucha presión pero el sumidero de la ducha no tragaba bien.

La piscina y el jacuzzi muy bien, pero al estar debajo de un pinar enorme, hace qye caigan mucha pinassa…pero bueno, no es inconveniente.

Mooi hotel aan de rand van het dorp. Wel auto nodig. Goed uitgebreid ontbijt en lekker zwembad met jacuzzi ernaast. Kamer 211 is voorzien van 2 balkons en erg ruim. Een aanrader. Alleen WiFi is wat minder!

Lo bueno: El Hotel está enmedio de un pinar y a 300 metros de la playa, se puede ir andando, por las mañana se puede ver el amanecer desde el balcón. El desayuno es variado y está muy bien. La bañera de hidromasaje se agradece. Tiene cerca un supermercado y varios restaurantes. No hay problema de aparcamiento.

Lo malo: las paredes no estan insonorizadas, por lo que se escucha todo lo que pasa en el pasillo y en las habitaciones contiguas. Aunque pidas una sola cama, ponen una habitación con dos camas.

Un bon choix

L Hôtel est bien situé avec des places de parking juste à l'extérieur dans la rue, il est à 3mn de marche de la plage la plus proche, à 2mn d'une supérette, le petit déjeuné est très bien les croissants sont aussi bon que dans une pâtisserie assez rare pour le signaler, le café est bon, il y a du salé de la viennoiserie et des fruits. L'accueil est très bien. Plutôt calme mais en octobre c'est normal. Un bon séjour.
