Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Location of the hotel is great. Unfortunately, there is a small opening at the side of a window (despite being fully closed) - hence, we could hear noise and daily prayers clearly throughout our stay.

Best location! Near 2 shopping malls and a big food court opp. I travel to Batam twice or more a year, this hotel is my everytime choice. I had been booking the deluxe room but this time i booked a larger room De Luxe but was disappointed tho i paid extra for it. There is no table to have your meal if u pack food to eat in your room. Only table available is the dressing table. When we asked the staff for a table, they gave us a 'kind' of stare and suggested us to eat at the lobby instead. In the end, we have to move a table from the smoking room and return after our meal everyday. Do NOT book the De Luxe room. Not comfy, inconvenient n too bright - the room light up after 6am!

This is my 2nd stay with Aston Inn Gideon Batam over the past 2 months. It's not an overstatement to say that they are the best hotel in the Penuin area.

Surrounded by massage centers within 200m, most crowned with an average rating of 4.9 stars on Google Reviews, if you're prepared to be blown away by massage paradise, this is the place to be.

The restaurant within the hotel only serves breakfast, but you will be spoilt for choices with great tasting local food, all within walking distance at any time of the day.

The sound insulation of the hotel room was exceptional as we were not able to hear the slightest noise at all from outside the windows, the corridors and the neighboring rooms.

View was not a priority for us at all, the hotel was neither situated by the sea nor was it a tall building. So, please do not expect any breathtaking views, we're just thankful that it let's in enough sunlight.

TL;DR? This hotel is best for location, good service, location, great comfort, convenience, excellent value and most importantly, location.

The stay was good. 18 of us all the hotel for the location. We stayed more than once.
However, during this stay we noticed that the shower watervpressure and water heater do not seem to be doing well. Needs to resolve this to bring us back.

Book a family room for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The Family room is spacious and clean. Staff are courteous and helpful. Hotel location is very good with many eateries, massage parlors, 2 big shopping malls (1 old & 1 new), plenty retail shops and even a wet market all within short walking distance. Overall good value for money and highly recommended.

Rooms and check in all good. However, breakfast was very slow. It should start at 6 am but a number of items were not ready. The egg station was slow and also didn’t start until way past 6 am. Pros : The breakfast buffet was excellent. Place is near to 2 malls and there are many massage places.
Cons : There are a lot of small cockroaches in the room and they don’t change the bedsheets. Very dusty. You need to wait for 5-10 mins for the water to turn to warm for showering. Shower gel and shampoo is also limited. They don’t supply new ones if you don’t request from housekeeping. You need to put the sign - Please clean my room or else your room will not be cleaned at all.

We booked n emphasised 3 pax in a room.
But instead not given extra beddings, towels, pillows n blankets or even bed for 3rd pax. Instead request we hv to pay extra 350,000Rp per room per night. In-House massage was even worst. Book for 3 masseuse but only 2 show up. 2nd night massage was even worst! 2 young inexperienced masseuse which keep on playing wif hp, using 1 hand to massage 1 hand on hp. Very disappointed n upset! Hopefully on our next visit we sincerely hope tt tis Massage Parlour will improve! Breakfast is a failure!

The Hotel is located very near to BCS Mall and the Grand Batam Mall.There are eateries, shops and massage parlors in its vicinity which makes this place indeed suitable for shoppers to fulfill the touristy shopping and appetite needs. The hotel staff are friendly and the Superior room is decently and adequately furnished, except for amenities and that the hot shower took a little while to turn on. The fridge in my room is actually not functioning. Morning Breakfast is a simple spread and restaurant can get overly crowded with food serving running out fast and replenishment being slow. Generally its alright and would recommend for short overnight getaway stay.

Location: it is a walking distance to alfa mart, street food and grand mall batam. Nearby to Ngoya Hill by drive.

Breakfast buffet: wide spread of food that will be spoiled for choices.

Room: Comfortable except for our room, the aircon leakage is pretty bad. We had called them on the first night to get it fixed but it still leaking the subsequent night.

Service: from check in to check out, their staffs are very friendly.

Bedsheets, pillows are not clean. Smell and look dirty. The towels are yellowish grey, the hotel should find a better laundry vendor to handle the washing. It makes all of us scared of bathing. The shower cream and shampoo are so low grade that we could not take a proper shower. Hotel can consider using soap dispenser to reduce wastage, if that is what the hotel is trying to do.
The quality of the local dishes were surprisingly bad. The usual staple of mee goreng and fried rice cannot even meet normal indonesian standard.

I’ve stayed in this hotel before and was happy, this time I stayed I was giving a smoking room which i do not smoke. Although they tried to spray some air freshener the smoke smell is already in the main room, ie curtains carpet and linen.

I even went and bought my own air freshener to try and rid some of the smell. Shower head kept falling off and unable to get pressure from the rain head, diverter valve needs cleaning or replacing to allow enough water through.

Hotel staff are amazing and friendly and very patient.

It's location is most important plus point. Breakfast buffet and restaurant staff was great. Checkout took awfully long time. Near BCS Mall, A2 and a few selling local titbits stores.
Housekeeping questionable as I found a piece of used soap behind the sink when My soap slipped behind. Cleanliness also qustionable as bedsheet is very worn out with tiny holes and you can also spot stains on it.
As they are still in the midst of name change to Aston Inn, very minor renovation might be done to their rooms as I know our air-conditioner is new at least.
You can hear noises clearly from outside your door when they talk, run or close their doors. Not sound proof...
Will not recommend this place.

Convenient location and its neighbourhood.

My 2nd visit in this hotel after my last visit on Jul 2014.
Located in Batam center, nearby has a shopping mall and food court which opens late at night.
In addition to them, there are convenience stores open 24hrs.
Its room is big and reception is friendly.
Amenites and conditon at room was clean.
Also free car park provided.
However, breakfast at buffet need to be improved.
Overall, I like this hotel and at the end of year I will be back here with my parents.

Hotel is located in an area with plenty of food joints, spa, 2 huge shopping malls, traditional shops and wet market. It is also 10-15 minutes from Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal. The food centre opposite the hotel, A2 Foodcourt, even screen the Champion League final at 2am on 2 June 2019 :)

A minor downside was the buffet spread - not hot at 6.30am when we had our breakfast.
