There were 3 wedding parties and only one elevator working. The bed was very old and lumpy. The hotel and room smelled off, very musty…including the Shenandoah bedding. The refrigerator temp knob was broken and it wasn’t cool. We were on the 3rd floor and ice was only on the ground floor. If that had been disclosed when we checked in, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. Also the fire alarm went off. The sound was awful, but we were told by staff “not to worry-there was not a problem”. We used our better judgement and went outside with everyone else - and it turned out it was because of the amount of hair appliances being used for the weddings. It was quite the cluster.

Rooms only got housekeeping services on the third day, disappointing.
Sheets and towels only serviced on the third day, unless requested.
Pool was closed for "maintenance".
Restaurant had no dinner service - although it stated it had it on the website.
The location was great, with beautiful views if you can get passed all of the bad things.
Bar had good prices with decent service - not a happening place.
The place should be a gold mine - they are doing something wrong - Management perhaps?

Although the view of the lake was nice, that’s where it stopped. There was only 1 elevator working, the filtered water fountain was full of scum and didn’t work, the pool, which was literally 2x2 was closed for maintenance (I called the day before and they told me it was open until 10pm). There was no ice in any of the ice machines, the restaurant was closed. The room- eh, the bed was all ripped, a tile was coming off the wall, the bathroom floor had dirty shoe prints on the floor, the shower curtain was all torn up and looked like it just came out of a dirty laundry bag, the overhead light in the bathroom had to remain on all night because it flickered on and off while in the off position. We were there one night and couldn’t check out fast enough. It was too late at night to complain and we just wanted to get out of there.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing overall. The one highlight was the beautiful walking path behind the hotel along Seneca Lake, which provided great views and was the best part of the property.
Beyond that, there were several issues. The elevators were extremely slow, and on multiple occasions we chose to take the stairs. Upon check-in, the safe in our room was not functioning. We reported the issue and requested a replacement, but despite being told it would be addressed, no replacement or repair was ever provided during our stay. The air conditioner was extremely loud when running.
While the hotel advertises itself as pet-friendly, at approximately 6:00 a.m. we were woken by a loud barking dog. The property also appears to need some maintenance and attention to detail. The ceiling tiles in the lobby were noticeably yellowed and should be replaced. The room windows looking out to the lake were dirty and covered with cobwebs.
While the lakeside walkway was enjoyable, the lack of upkeep, unresolved maintenance issues, and early-morning noise left us disappointed.

Staff was wonderful! Facilities are a bit worn. It has seen better days. The parking is weird, no place to park close enough to the front door. One of the elevators was not working so long wait to use the one that was working. Ice machines not on each floor and the one that was supposed to be on the 5th floor didn’t work. Definitely needs an upgrade but not a horrible place to stay. Room was clean but worn. I’d give it a 7/10 but 10/10 for staff.

We ordered a room for three guests. Two queen beds and a folding bed. The two queen beds room is too small to accommodate a folding bed. At first, we were notified that nothing could be done. After unpacking, we were informed that a room with a king size bad can accommodate a folding bed and one was found. Two and a half hours after check-in, we got a room that was not what we booked and paid for.

Our room (434) must be directly next to the water lines for the building. There was a sound of running water 24/7 and was very difficult to sleep through.

Separately, this hotel has awful wifi. When we asked the front desk about the wifi password, she said it was public and there was no secure network, and spoke to us rudely and with a serious attitude, as if we were asking an outlandish question. I would not have booked a hotel without a reliable and secure wifi network, as I had work to do on this trip. I ended up having to go to a coffee shop to use their wifi for hours.

Great location, but don’t expect wifi, or silent nights.

Ours was a one night stop . Very pretty location . Front desk very friendly . Our bed was comfortable and room nice with lake view.
The best part of this place is the restaurant associated with it . Our food was so good . My husband got steak dinner and I had a Cajun shrimp pasta . We shared a salad which was huge but oh so good . The staff was prompt friendly .Highly recommend this place.

The staff at check-in was not very friendly and seemed indifferent. Upon entering your room, a slight odor of stale cigarette smoke was noticeable. The room appeared clean, but the bathroom shower needs a thorough cleaning, as rust and mildew have gathered around the bottom. When the air conditioner turned on, it was extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep at night. Overall, the property needs some serious cleaning and maintenance.

They don’t have room service. The kitchen is rarely open. They left my door wide open and blamed me for it while I left door 3 hours. I tried to leave the same day they wouldn’t refund me mind you I don’t live in Geneva. Never again. The pool doesn’t work they tell you they are not leaving the front desk cause it’s only one worker so please don’t need anything. Night staff is rude as hell mainly the white lady neverrrrr again

The shower handle was off, the safe didn’t work and the pool was shut down because they were waiting on repairs and the windows looking into the pool room were broken. We chose this Hotel because Expedia gave it a great review. The outside garden landscaping was completely overgrown and needs attention. The only positive was the restaurant had great food.

The sheets and bedding were all wrinkled up and not even tucked in around the bed. Hair on the sheets.the bed was literally a foot off the floor.big long hairs in the bathroom. Toilet paper holder hanging off the wall.we stayed 2 nights, they didn’t come in and freshen up the bed or coffee tray or anything the second day.we couldn’t have coffee in the room the second morning, cause there wasn’t any.
My breakfast in the hotel restaurant was burnt to a crisp, i can’t believe they actually let that come out of the kitchen.I wish I could send a picture of it along with this review. I was very surprised because the reviews were so good that I read before booking. I hope it was just a fluke.The Food at the Bar in the evening was good.

Pet friendly hotel, although no specific amenities like a dog waste station outside. The location on the lake next to the Welcome Center can’t be beat. Plenty of parking. The rooms are a bit tired and need renovating. The leather banquette in my room had a tear in it. The outside of the windows were absolutely covered in cobwebs and dead flies. The toilet bowl was scratched. There was a microwave (nice!) but no refrigerator. Lovely staff and I didn’t hear a lot of noise through the walls.

I called 0n THREE occasions to make sure we would have a FRIST FLOOR ROOM!!!!
First when I reserved the room IN JANUARY FOR APRIL 25 , then again in March. THEN THE DAY BEFORE !!!!!! At pre check in on line , I requested a first floor room !!!
EVERY TIME I WAS ASSURED A FIRST FLOOR ROOM ! So we checked in and they didn't have us in a first floor room. They couldn't accommodate our request at the front desk!!!
The coffee maker in our room didn't work !!! No coffee in the check in area !

Room one was fine until I got to the bathroom. The shower drain was broken and there was a huge wad of hair in the drain. The rust covered the tub and screws were missing from the hardware. I asked maintenance to come up and help and they rinsed the hair said the shower was fine and left. I asked to switch rooms. The next room smelled like mildew and the soap dispenser in the bathroom was covered in green slime. The THIRD room was okay except the mini fridge didn’t work.

I had stayed here a few years back of course it was a little newer. they were working on the pool so we were not able to swim but the gym was awesome and clean We stopped at the restaurant in the morning to have breakfast staff was amazing the food was fresh and amazing I guess they make a lot of their food fresh hollandaise etc in the morning 😊. The room we stayed in was tidy , the bathroom was so much cleaner than the room but some repair was needed and window treatments things like that could have been a little better cleaner for the price we paid

The location is amazing but the lousy check-in had me thinking, “These people aren’t even going to try, why would they, with the lake right there?” Happily, the early-morning staff made up for the “prime-time” front desk (check-out wasn’t great, either).

Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious, reasonably priced, and the waitress was pleasant and attentive.

I’ll likely be back, because I plan to attend more shows at The Smith, and it’s an easy walk (again, location!). I’ll just brace myself for the rudeness and high-voltage disingenuousness of those at the front desk during check-in and check-out.

P.S. Please don’t suggest that online check-in would have solved this. That’s just a way to collect data. It wouldn’t have gotten me my room key without the front-desk staff acknowledging my presence, which didn’t happen while they were on the phone taking a reservation for someone possibly arriving some months in the future.

The entire hotel was freezing cold - lobby, hallways, elevator. My first room was 54 degrees. I changed rooms and the heat worked. However, the next morning there was no hot water to shower. The front desk said they would have maintenance check it. We had to leave for the day and I tried to call the hotel at least 10 times that day for an update. No one answered the phone. To avoid any more issues I got another hotel and checked out early. Because I ordered through Expedia the hotel refused to offer any type of refund for checking out early. I am still wrestling with Expedia for a reasonable response. This form of hotel business is unacceptable. The condition of the property and service received at the hotel was terrible.
