Beautiful grounds but the rooms were pretty old and undesirable. The bar “closed” early and despite banging on the door we were ignored. Apparently “Nina” was asked and she said no to our request for a drink at 8:45. For the price point you’d expect better.

We arrived at this supposedly prestigious hotel and checked into our room only to find it hadn't been cleaned. Someone's food/clothes were everywhere. They offered to buy ONE of our drinks at the bar (which was soo dirty) and waited 1 1/2 hours for it to be cleaned. Just really disappointed.

We were in Geneva for the multiday Hobart graduation. The Inn was the perfect location. Check-in was easy, staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, meals were excellent, grounds pleasant to walk around, history of the property interesting, checkout simple.

Room was large with fridge, sink and stove. There was lots of storage/closet space. Shower was hot with a good flow. We had difficulty working the heat/AC remote so room was a bit chilly but nothing bithersome enough to call front desk.

Everything around this place is completely magical. The staff were amazing… Flights of wine tasting, and a delicious dinner at the bar after a long drive. Woke up and had coffee on the edge of the lake from 75 feet up. The bed was comfortable the hotel was quiet would do again might in fact move there.

The “brand new” mattresses, as we were told by the front desk, are hard as a rock. The pristine pictures you see online don’t look anything like this place. There is no view of the lake from the rooms. The place is old, dated and the rooms (ours was a suite) have commercial kitchen type of quarry tile with dirty grout lines. Save your money and go elsewhere. I complained about the mattress so that’s how I know they were “brand new”. We ended up not staying the second night forfeiting $450 for the night because they said they couldn’t refund it. Hotels.com claims they tried to get us a refund but they failed miserably as well. There were very few guests and no weddings going on when we were there. I guess that’s why they couldn’t refund our money when I told them I couldn’t stay another night on that hard mattress due to back issues I . Instead we let them keep the money and we drove 6 hours home. Buyer beware!

We are an older couple and had a room on the top floor- did not know that there is NO elevator and they were also doing noisy roof repair directly outside our room all day long. No indoor pool, the bathroom was the size of a closet and the decor is ancient. Overpriced and not worth it.

We had a very nice stay. A lot of renovations being made so limited access to the facilities. We feel that should be noted when you book a room. It however, didn’t greatly effect our stay. Breakfast at the restaurant was very nice. Staff over all is very kind & accommodating. Our room was very clean & comfortable. Kitchen appliances a bit dated but everything you would need to make breakfast, a quick meal or snack provided. We were very pleased. Stately, impressive property. I’m sure it will be stellar after the renovations.

She gave us a free upgrade without even asking for one. The property was clean and the room was like stepping into a colonial age. The room quiet and cozy. We stayed in the dog friendly townhouse. It was like taking a step back into the 80’s. Everything was so outdated. I’m guessing this is why there are limited pictures online. What was supposed to be a nice getaway turned out to be very disappointing. Would not recommend for the price.

Noah our waiter was a wonderful young man and took great care of us. Steve the piano player played a great selection of music. Our food was fabulous and we will return.

The piano player during dinner was the best! My dinner was exceptional I ordered the special that night. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room had roses and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our anniversary. The grounds are beautiful, picture perfect. The highlight was sitting on the bluff and watching the sunrise. We grabbed a coffee and apple bread from the parlor at 6:30 and went straight out to watch the sunrise over the Seneca Lake and it was perfect. My only disappointment was that so much of the interior of the home had been gutted and lost to make room for hotel rooms. I had my heart set on seeing a grand stair case or large dinning room or something from the historical period that it was built in. Sadly there was very little to see. Still I think I will be back. That sunrise got me! It is the perfect location.

The property surrounding the hotel is beautiful. But I do feel we were not treated as Hotel guests since we only had maid service ONE day. After the second day of our stay we had to inquire why our room had not been cleaned especially the bathroom also there were no clean towels. They told us the maid had not shown up and to bring our dirty towels down and pick up clean ones. When I pay over $400 a night and have to clean my own bathroom (tub, toilet and sink) and chase after clean towels I am most certainly not a happy customer. If the maids do not show up for work they are obviously not payed adequately!!! Sorry will never go back.

The hotel was overpriced. We spent three nights in the hotel and after the second night we followed the instructions on how to get fresh towels and we did not get them. Housekeeping never came by and checked the room. Trash cans were overflowing. Although there was a coffeemaker in the kitchenette and a refrigerator with two water bottles, the coffee pods and water were never replaced.

The grounds of Geneva on the Lake are beautiful. That's the best feature of this hotel. The rooms were dated, definitely not the kind of boutique rooms one would expect for the money (we stayed in the townhouse). But the thing that was upsetting was that there was little respect by the staff for our stay. The townhouse next door was being renovated, it appeared, and the crew would arrive at 8 am. Their van blocked our entrance, and the crew played music, talked loudly, and used drills, waking us up and interrupting our morning. Then, in the evening, the owner insisted on coming around and using the leafblower in our outdoor areas, again interrupting us with its loud noise. We had dinner in the hotel one night, and the food was bland, overcooked, and overpriced. In short, we found our experience at Geneva on the Lake did not match what we expected for the price.

It was a drizzly day. We checked in quickly, then proceeded to our rooms. The halls are a bit narrow but it's a short distance to your room. There was a full kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. The personal service was wonderful as was the elegant dining room. The was no bar, but order drinks, and they are delivered to your table. They had a very nice supply of all sorts of spirits as well as wines. The food was excellently prepared and presented. The grounds are magnificent. Please check it out.

I didn t know the property had no elevators. The stairs were a problem for me. I have stayed at less expensive chain hotels with better amenities. The terrace was lovely, but for the price I’d rather do the Belhurst.

Nice overnight! Staff was friendly and accommodating, room was clean. I like all of the literature in the rooms and in the lounge. It’s off season and the weather wasn’t the best, so the books were a nice touch. As was the complimentary bottle of NY White wine.

A beautiful, historic boutique hotel. We were treated well upon arrival and even given a room upgrade. The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful, and the waterfront views are amazing. Although it is early spring, there was plenty to walk around and do: glider swing, bicycles to use, chairs to enjoy the view by the lake, campfire at night. It is minutes away from some of the best wineries on Seneca Lake.

Shocked and Disappointed- Sad to write this...
I was shocked by my experience at Geneva on the Lake. I've never stayed before and was expecting a top notch experience. My wife and I stayed in \"The Loft\". Checking in was quick and the staff was great. Shortly after getting situated, I had to spend an hour chasing down and killing two large houseflies in our room. Dinner, we were seated next to the kitchen which wasn't a bid deal for me but also close to the piano. Within 5 mins of sitting down, my wife and I were swatting at fruit flies. We sat there sipping on our first (and only) round of beverages for 45 mins while waiting for our food. We finished our drinks (including water) and food didn't come for another 15 mins. We sat there without drinks for 15 mins (not by our choice). Server didn't inquire nor check on us. The piano was so loud that every time my wife and I tried to talk, we had to get very close and speak loudly. When the food came, it was great. After dinner, we went back to our room and spent most of our time there. Didn't sleep due to the extreme heat in the room. I even shut the heat off and it didn't help. Had to open windows. Had a reservation for breakfast and they forgot to unlock the door to the dining room. Had to go to the front desk and ask for help. At breakfast, we listened to other couples complaining of the heat in their room. Checkout was quick. My wife used to work here and she said the business has gone way downhill from the previous standards. Shocked. Spent almost $1k for 1 night. F-.
