Staff were wonderful! Hotel is beautifully remodeled. Great location. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar are closed due to staffing issue. The rooms are very clean, bathrooms are gorgeous, very nicely decorated but there is no refrigerator and the bed is very uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at The Gould Hotel. Check in and out was simple. The room was clean and well put together. It would be helpful if they diluted the Fabuloso when cleaning the rooms so the smell isn’t so over whelming. We aired the room out (in February!) and it did get better. Glad to know it’s clean but the scent should be subtle, not assaulting. We stayed for a concert at Del Lago and would absolutely choose The Gould again.

First, the lady at the front desk, amazing!
Now we get there and room is freezing, heating unit broke...ok...switch rooms...new room the cable out...ok i fix that...the floor was dirty, hadnt been mopped in awhile...only one entrance and is inconvenient carrying bags when front spaces are taken...the bed sank in the middle and didnt realize this until bed time and it was too late to swap rooms...i dont think id stay there again...it was pretty to look at though...

There was a bunch of mold on the bathroom ceiling, large amounts of dust in every corner, the tv didn’t work, and the one staff member I could find was too chatty for comfort. Also my room door didn’t lock all the way at first when closing the door, single female travelers beware!

Disappointed, this would be our fourth stay at this hotel. We loved it and looked forward to staying every time. Since our last stay the hotel was sold and it shows. No restaurant or bar open, and that was not stated when booking my stay. So basically paid for a room that was beyond HOT, could not get the “portable air conditioner” that was not correctly installed to work for the life of me. The toilet would not flush properly. Reported it gentleman that came and flipped the handle for a few minutes said he would call someone to fix it, no one did. So between that, the heat, the rundown looking hotel that once was so well taken care of and beautiful and the no hotel restaurant or bar, we left a day early from our three day stay. I could have booked a luxury hotel with what was paid. Sad to say … we won’t be back,

Our room appeared to be recently remodeled. The bed was very comfortable which is one of the most important features when you’re driving each day for about 6 hours or more. The bathroom was clean with a nice shower. The breakfast very mediocre in the restaurant that is currently not open.

This is an older hotel with fantastic potential. Our room was clean and large with high ceilings and a large bathroom. The rest of the hotel is a work-in-progress. I believe it is under new ownership. If they invest in it, it will be fantastic. I would love to stay here again when it is refurbished and I expect to pay at least twice as much.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. Hotel has a guest parking lot which is convenient. However, we were disappointed to learn that the hotel restaurant is closed (thus no breakfast options or coffee in lobby) due to a pending food & beverage license given the recent change in hotel management/ownership. There is a small coffee shop across the street which is the only option in town for breakfast. The hotel reception is somewhat lacking in service and professionalism. We didn’t get the impression by their responses that the staff cared too much about our inquiries regarding the broken ice machine and lack of maps, both of which they were already aware. The reception desk isn’t always staffed, and guests are advised to call the cell number left on the counter if anything needed. The hotel’s outside door is supposedly locked overnight, but it was left unsecured in early evening since we returned nightly before 10pm to an empty reception desk on a few occasions and the outside door was not yet locked. This is a nice hotel design-wise and in a good location, but the lack of amenities and the somewhat spotty customer service did not meet our expectations given its high price relative to other options.

We decided to add a night to an already planned trip and decided to stay at the Gould. We like unique hotels, so this fit the bill. Our stay was nice, but not special enough to bring us back for a second stay. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed, so we needed to eat elsewhere in town. (Found a great restaurant a few doors down.) The first lady that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and even suggested restaurants. The lady at the desk when we left didn't even acknowledge us picking up the luggage cart or dropping of the key on the way out. The room was clean. The decor was cute. But not as fancy as the pictures show. The elevator walls were lined with dirty material that seemed odd. It gave me the overall impression of someone wanting to make something great, but either didn't have what it takes to make that way, or someone else took over without the same vision. If your looking for a nice place to stay in town, it foots the bill. Just don't expect the glamor they are trying to portray.

I booked this hotel 4 months in advance. I always pick a place with a bar and restaurant. Entertaining the lobby was sad. Restaurant closed, chairs stacked. with a sign on the desk that stated check in started at 3 (was 2:50). The desk person was friendly and tried hard despite being told new management-so no food. From others comments, been the case for a while. Room was clean though. Mexican restaurant within the block was excellent.

We tried to check in and were told that our rooms which we had confirmation for were not available. \"looks like we overbooked\", terrible to say the least. One person doing check in and cleaning rooms, not sure how that would work with 21 rooms, even the person at check was flustered, that should have been an indication, when trying to check in. Terrible, we almost ended up without a room, thankfully were able to get another hotel. Clearly the hotel is in need of staff, and it looked abandoned, very disappointed, the person at the front desk was very apologetic, not her fault, how do you run a business like that. EXPEDIA should remove this hotel from their list. TERRIBLE.

Indoors stairs were dirty, elevator was scary.
There were so many dogs in the hotel, stairway hall smelled bad. Continental breakfast was horrid.

We left a day early. Expedia would not refund $$ nor would the Gould, so we just left.

I grew-up in Seneca Falls and watched the Gould go through changes over the years Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms still retain the charm of renovations done in more recent years, although the room I had is due for a refresh (paint, wooden plank flooring was de-laminating in a couple of places, better lighting). Trying to find the Spectrum Channel Guide on the television and using remote was very tedious; would be helpful to have a Television Channel Guide printed out in each room. Biggest negative was closure of the restaurant/loss of dining options.

We really wanted to like this place - old hotel in a picturesque town. But we were scammed. The restaurant is closed, the bar is closed, the Continental breakfast is closed, the vending machines are closed, the ice machine is closed, and the elevator barely works. The only redeeming thing was that the room was clean and comfortable.

The parking was the best thing sbout the property. The air conditioning went out in our 1st room and the staff said they couldn't do anything. Temp was 76. Next day we were moved to an \"upgraded\" room. It was a handicap room, which the shower was not appropriate for our use. By morning the temp was up to 73, so it appeared that unit also was not working.
The toilet also was very sluggish. It appeared there were not many rooms that were totally functional

The description of the hotel said it had a bar, restaurant and daily housekeeping. The website showed pictures of the areas. It was thst reason we chosed this site
None of those were available and it didn't appear to have been opened for awhile. Very disappointed.

We stayed here for a weekend (9/12-14). The room was nice, but a cleaning rag was left on the desk in the room and there was a stain on the chair in the shape of a butt crack. Someone had left ice before us in the fridge freezer and it melted overnight one night, which means the freezer wasn’t checked. The room itself was nice and other than the things mentioned it was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The mattress was firm and while I don’t prefer a firm mattress it was good for sleeping. The room was quiet and I didn’t hear many people being loud in the hallway. There was a breakfast but there wasn’t much to it so we went across the street. The town itself isn’t big and it was nice to walk to the restaurants in town. The restaurant in the hotel isn’t open currently.
Staff were nice. I got the impression they were short staffed, but they were never rude or anything.
Parking was in the back of the hotel and that was adequate.
I would consider staying here again in the future if I was in the area.
