This is a motel. The room smelled heavily of mildew, but none was visible. The air conditioning unit worked, although the room was very hot at check-in and took a while to cool off.
The front desk staff was very friendly and gave good dinner recommendations.

The room was fine - nothing special, but for the price, I didn't expect anything great. The common areas were dated, worn, dirty, and HOT! All in all, about what you'd expect for $116 in a tourist town in July. Just needed a place to sleep, so it fit the bill. The room itself was clean and completely adequate for our needs.

Old and Tired, stay away

The reception was quick and easy and friendly. The hallway carpets and walls were stained and had a beat up frat house look- old torn up couch in hall, holes in wall, chipping paint... The water was dangerously scalding hot. The advertised photo of breakfast was actually an empty room, thankfully there is a Dunkin’ Donuts next door. The room in no way resembled what was presented online- the actual room was a considerable downgrade. Not enough lipstick to cover this place up. The exit door doesn’t close without pushing it and the other exit door was unlocked. Nice ice maker.

The location was nice. Minutes away from Seneca Lake. The property itself wasn’t that bad on the outside but the room itself was BADDD. The deadbolt didn’t lock, there were spills of some sort dried running down the walls, very “rough” condition for the amount of money paid. Room was very small.

Checking in was fine very helpful, hotel condition is horrible, I should had listened to the reviews, as soon as you open the door to the building to walk in you get this bad smell dirty smell that stays in the old carpets that the hall way is carpeted with, walls like like they are 40 years old and the room was dirty old sofa that look like it was pick up I the side of the road, we had to lay the towels on top of the dirty sheets to be able to sleep on the bed, so yeah this is the sound time I stay for these hotels and I guess this chain doesn’t really care about hospitality.

I don't have high expectations for lower-end hotels, but this was not as good as I expected. The bathtub had been resurfaced and was peeling and not clean. My room was untouched after my first night until I requested it be cleaned; thereafter supplies (towels, soap, plastic cups) were sporadic. One night there were approximately a dozen police/sheriff cars in the parking lot, lights ablaze. Desk clerk claimed no knowledge of why. Clerk was also unable to produce a receipt, saying she didn't know how. For $80+ per night these deficiencies are not acceptable

Run down older motel. 1 washer and dryer. Dryer would not work, warned by manager that it takes money sometimes. Manager was nice, but other than that....... Other hotel guests said they lived there, state supported, school bus dropped off kids. Water pressure and hot water varied by the second, cold then scalding. WIFI was bad.

This place was very clean and the staff was genuinely friendly. In fact it was cleaner than another motel I stayed in 2 weeks before. The accommodation was very basis so there was no coffee in the rooms and if you needed soap or shampoo, you needed to ask for it at reception. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. There was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was sufficient. The location is excellent.

Seriously Consider Before Booking....

Too expensive for the shoddy quality. I have stayed in motor hotels with old, ripped sheets and greasy bathrooms for $40 a night, but not close to $100. Absolutely not worth the cost and in a terrible area. I honestly would have had a better night sleep if I had slept in my car.

The hotel is very outdated. The staff actually recomended that we have breakfast across the street at a bagel place rather than the continental breakfast that is supposedly included. I didn't waste my time to check out the breakfast after seeing the room. Needs alot of TLC to get this hotel up to par.

Overpriced for what you get

Clean, newly painted hotel with polite front desk staff. Expensive and definitely a 2 star hotel, but inexpensive option compared to the also overpriced alternatives in the area. Newer carpet, but furniture quite old. Bed and pillows were comfortable and big window. Bathroom is small and very outdated, but you can see that upgrades are being made in other areas.

I won tickets to an event on Seneca Lake so unfortunatly this & 1 other hotel were my only choices as far as availability. This is 1 of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were not well kept. There were stains on the comfortor & floor. Dust & dirt in the corners of the room. Plugs fell out of the electrical outlets making it very hard to charge our phones & use a hairdryer. The bathtub had rust stains in it & an overhead light had no lightbulbs in it & was very dusty. Just overall not cleaned properly at all. If they were to clean everything & update the decor it would be savable but in it's current condition I forsee it going under. Will not ever stay here again no matter how desparate I am.

Run down, outdated. Fridge ran so loud it woke us up repeatedly and we had to unplug it. Very poor sound insulation; you could hear everything that went on outside. Could see daylight all around the door, the gaps were so big in between it and the frame.

My favorite: had to pick 7 long hairs off my supposedly clean towel before I could use it.

Oh no wait, my actual favorite: the scary underground bunker full of old rotting mattresses across the parking lot from our room. Expected to see clowns come out of it at night.

Not again!

First couldn't get the door open, web site boasted private balcony it was a long sidewalk that accommodated all the rooms on that floor, the room smelt of mildew, it was a smoking room for my spouse but didn't smell like cigarettes it smelt musty and moldy. The toilet had spots of bile in it hair in the shower curtain and people hanging out side next to your room and last but not least the place was very overpriced for quality cleanliness and location.

Bare bones hotel. Like, they don't even have fitted sheets, just flat sheets that slide off in the middle of the night. And then the housekeeping staff asks if you need anything and they seem a little put-out that you want them to make the bed. And there may have been breakfast, but you'd have to ring the bell for someone to come out to the lobby to let you in.

A solid place to stay

Trip was for a getaway weekend. The location was convenient. The area has lots to offer within walking distance and it seemed very safe, a nice hometown feel. New management is working on upgrading the property. The room I stayed in had new carpet and new flat screen tv. Free wi-fi is available as well.
The bathroom was dated, but management has that upgrade on their radar. Free continental breakfast was very adequate - cereals, bagels, juices, fruit, etc. House keeping was a little spotty. Used soaps were removed, but no new soaps were left in their place. This was easily remedied by the front desk staff.

OK, but could be so much more

Negatives: Matted up hair on the drain in tub...obviously not cleaned thoroughly. Stains on bathroom floor (tile) also not cleaned thoroughly. Toilet and sink were OK. They painted the tile tub surround and it looks like a mess. Why not just put in a new surround?

Positives: Price. Staff was very police and courteous. 3 Double beds in a room was fantastic for a our group of 5. Fridge and microwave in room were good. It was very quiet, no riffraff. Very close to Hobart College, lots of shopping and restaurant options on the same street.

Overall: Location is optimal...this place could be soon much more than what it is with a little clean up and $ investment. Clean up the crap around back, do some minor upgrades to the bathrooms and this place could be a gold mine. I would only stay again if everything else in the area was booked or completely price gouged.

Will not stay at this place again! No heat in building or room on arrival. Took half the night to get it comfortable in the room. Cable sucked, faucet to jacuzzi was broken, paint peeling on bottom of tub and their idea of a smoking room is taking the battery out of the smoke detectors. No seating unless you sit on bed, plus no housekeeping while you stay there. Absolutely not worth me spending $600 for 2 nights. Definitely should have looked at room before paying! !!!

Friendly people in fairly nice location, within walking distance of Rite-Aid, Walgeens, and Dunkin Donuts. No coffee or hair dryer in room. Breakfast only served thru November. Pretty clean but old, not even a shelf in bathroom for toiletries. Will probably never stay here again. would rather pay a little more and have the amenities.

The staff was very friendly, and that is the only positive quality about this hotel. We had no electricity when we first checked in. We did not have our room cleaned (garbage emptied, beds made) during our stay. There were not exterior lights, so the parking lot was always dark. We paid the higher rate for queen beds, but because our room didn't have electricity we had to move to a room with double beds at the same higher rate. If you can get this room for a very LOW rate, it may be worth it if you don't care about any luxuries at all.

Adequate room. Was kinda grosses out finding a long hair on one of the beds UNDER the covers. Laundry on premises consisted of one washing machine and dryer that were \"out of service\" and a dirty couch to sit on. Its OK for a necessary overnight or two but not more than that. Lots of places to eat and beautiful Seneca Lake down the road a bit. Immediate neighborhood not so great although they tried out back with a small yard, picnic table and a couple park grills.

Checked in and returned later to find warm room; adjusted AC but it never cooled below 80 degrees all night. Told front desk who transferred us to another room which had functioning AC. Hallways throughout hotel smelled bad and were very warm. Breakfast was minimal and twice had to ask for juice which were not brought out until after asking.

An Unpleasant Stay

My husband and I checked in at around 1am. The night staff man presented to the front desk wearing pajamas rather than looking more appropriate in a uniform or a polo shirt with name of the hotel. He was very unfriendly as if my husband and I were inconveniencing him. Usually we pay for our stay when we check out but the night staff man charged our credit card before staying our 1st night. Our room: 1) looked like it was from the 80s because it was not updated and it smelled whenever entering or leaving it; 2) there was no full roll of toilet paper on the holder and it was never replenished so we had to use the unopened one; 3) there was no alarm clock to set a wake up time, but thankfully my smartphone had one; 4) hard finding the light switch for the bathroom 5) the bathtub did not drain well; and 6) the room was not cleaned when we were out for the day - the bed was not made and the trash was not taken out. We honestly did not leave a tip and we don't plan to come back to this hotel again.

Interesting Hotel next to Hobart William Smith Col

Although I have stayed at this hotel before, this is by far the worst experience.
Day 1 Room cleaned - had to ask for additional towels and toilet paper
Day 2 Room not cleaned - had to ask for additional towels and toilet paper - bathroom not cleaned
Day 3 Room not cleaned - extra blankets that we had to go outside and up to lobby to get in the rain the night before were thrown on the floor with all the leaves and the trash that spilled out of the garbage can. Had to ask for extra towels and toilet paper - bathroom not cleaned again.
Day 4 Got back to the room later in the evening same thing again - had to go get more towels and explained everything to the desk clerk. were told it would be fixed tomorrow, explained we were be checking out. Never said sorry for all the inconvenience, or we will comp a night. Nothing......very disappointed in this hotel, but the hotel sits right next to the college campus, so the have a captive customer base.

Great surprise in overnite accommodations!

We accidentally booked this hotel last fall, instead of that one we always went to for our annual trip to the Finger Lakes. We were presently surprised at the service and the hotel itself. When it came time to book this year, we decided to stay here again. This year we found the same friendly service(Shannon), and many improvements and updates to the physical environment. Great job!

Don't recommend unless last resort

Room wasn't all that great, but beds were comfortable. WiFi only worked outside the room, which didn't do us any good because it was cold outside. When we complained, they said they would tell manager, but after complaining 3 times, I just gave up. We should have gotten some sort of money back because I specifically chose this hotel because of the WiFi. Staff was unfriendly as well.

This place was horrible. We had bugs in a room and told the manager that we would not stay the second night. He threatened to charge us for the 2nd night even though he gave us a horrible room.

He did move us the first night, but that room was not much better. This place had an entire hallway worth of rooms boarded up! In addition, they had s bird'd nest that went into the roof ABOVE the cavity where rooms lie below.

Will not go back!

I read the reviews ahead of time and knew that this place may be a little sketchy, but couldn't find any other place available for Homecoming weekend. I figured it couldn't be as bad as people said, but I was wrong. As soon as we pulled in, my husband didn't even want to check in. I convinced him that it would be fine...since we didn't have another option anyway. The room actually wasn't dirty, but had a terrible musty smell. It was freezing and the only heat was electric. It was ridiculously loud and didn't regulate - either roasting or freezing. The blankets were so thin that I slept in my husband's fleece coat and got up at 2 am to get towels to wrap around me. We had to keep kicking thefridge to stop the loud buzzing, but I was actually happy to at least have a fridge & microwave. In the morning, we noticed some bugs on the wall. There were 3 huge stink bugs, which I spent 20 minutes trying to capture. While I was doing that, my husband started swearing from the shower because of getting scalded by temperature changes. All in all, we survived and laughed about how awful it was all the way home, but will definitely not go back!

Cleaners were very pleasant. Manager (not the women behind the counter, the guy) could use some work on his social skills. He demanded to know who I was when I went in for morning coffee at the breakfast bar, and he was less than helpful when a glitch in the reservation meant I was locked out of our room a day earlier than we expected (that may have just been a mistake with Hoteles com. While Geneva is a small city, the hotel is on the outskirts with nothing of particular interest (except a good Mexican restaurant) within easy walking distance.

Well with in one hour of checking in I left my room went to the lake was gone about an hour went into my room to discover someone had stolen some of my stuff. Staff put me in a different room. Sheriff Dept. Got my stuff back. I would stay here again but will always get a room with a jacuzzi, because it's in a more secure part of the hotel..

Staff nice needs $$$ invested in facility... Dirty rooms with warn out sheets... Hotel in poor condition and renting rooms by the week and month..

Room for improvement, but not bad

Not bad for a lower budget property. The location is very convenient to touring the wineries and also other establishments. We traveled with 2 other couples and the rooms could use some updating and air fresheners. The beds are surprisingly comfy. Staff was friendly and that was a plus. Breakfast was just so-so; I do not expect a lot but I do expect 'unspoiled' orange juice. No big deal as there are plenty of places around and a Dunkin Donuts for great coffee and OJ right next door.

We are here on a 2-3 week work trip have 2 rooms. The people running tho hotel are very very nice.....needed a package delivered and the were very helpful.....

Yuck

Thank goodness I did not plan to stay in the room that much. I have stayed in better places and paid less. I will not be staying there again. I also might just do my own research and book direct with the hotels from now on. there was a prostitute at the hotel out side of my room and a hit and run. It had a smell and in disrepair. Such as shower had no water pressure and fluctuated from hot to cold.

Room was very hot and had a small AC unit that never cooled it down, room had a very musty smell, floor was dirty and so was the bathroom, cold water in the shower with a shower head 3ft off the floor, water filled the tub and never went down till almost an hour later, very sketchy people all over the hotel at all hours and people selling drugs right under our room, stay away, this place is a dump. Never had a single person from the hotel come for 2 days to check or clean room, will never go near this place again

Good budget hotel

I was up there for a wedding. There was three couples staying at the place.one couple thought it was terrible didn't like there room didn't feel safe checked out as soon as possible and went to another hotel. The other couple and myself didn't think it was too bad if your expecting a run down hotel. We read the reviews so we had low expectations. The positive in our room is the the bed, bed sheets toilet and shower was new and clean and the king size bed is very comfortable something you would find in a four or five star hotel. The negative is that the room itself is beat up stains in carpet walls aren't in good shape the front door handle only opened in the up position. The reason why the hotel has bad curb appeal is that it looks like the hotel provides section 8 housing as well (purely based on speculation). But the people that I talked to were friendly that appeared to live there.

We chose NOT to stay in the room we rented once seeing it. It was filthy, smelled terrible and was in a terrible neighborhood.

They need new mattress' better cleaning practices (hair in bathroom tub) We stayed for two nights and no one came to bring new towels or wash cloths never made our beds. There was some kind of powder in the toilet paper. This will be first and last time we stay there. I have to say the people were very friendly but that is the only good thing about our stay.

Horrible!

The fridge had left over food in it from who knows when. The bathroom door wouldn't close. But on the positive the bed was comfortable and seemed clean. The room appeared clean but needed updating!
