La chambre était très propre et le lit confortable. La petite terrasse était très apprécié. L'emplacement de l'hôtel était idéal pour visiter le vieux heraklion a pied. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Heraklion malgré la pluie.

The breakfast was excellent with a great variety and helpful staff. The local area is not great to look at but at least there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

The room was nice but even though it was that warm outside the room was still warm and the air con didn’t work.

My main complaint: The hotel uses a photo of its rooftop pool as its main advertising yet it was under construction at the start of April so there was no possibility of using it. This was very disappointing and we had to travel to a nearby beach. Staff including the manger were very dismissive when I enquired about using the pool. Just because it is cold for locals doesn’t mean that those who come from colder climates can’t use the pool. I appreciate the weather was not great on some days but on most days we would have used it.

The room was clean and relatively spacious. The bathroom was clean and spacious. the large window was great. The bed was comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The pool was lovely, but freezing cold. (This was in April.). I had a really great stay there.

This hotel and the kind and attentive staff made our stay so wonderful. The approach to service was second to none ( We have travelled a lot), and food was truly outstanding ...the widest choice of high quality and fresh breakfast options and the most amazing dinners...we were so impressed with the standard. The very central location was so useful with easy access on foot to the port, and town centre. Our day trips also just picked us up at the door. The location was also quiet and evenings on the terrace pre dinner were so restful.

Clean room, ugly view of people’s laundry drying on balconies from our window. Front desk gave me directions to a post office that had moved, I’m carrying a heavy bag of items to ship. From there I asked people and got lost, never found the post office and spent 2.5 hours walking in the red sandstorm which made me sick for the next two days. Had dinner two nights in your restaurant, food was great but service terrible. Completely ignored the first 15 minutes, people came in after us but waited on promptly and served food well before us. No one ever checked on us, did we need anything? Waited after finishing for someone to clear dishes and bring our check. Finally gave up and left, I stopped at the front desk and told them NO TIP for the terrible service we had.

The propery is located next to the port but the views are only for one of the 4 sides of the building. This is one of the oldest hotels in the area and definately not a 5 star . Hallways are dark to hide the worn off carpet. Rooms are minimalistic. We had an issue with climate contol since they are using central heat and the temperature was too high in the room and could not be lowered. If you opened the windows all you heard was the ferry loudspeakers or the stray dogs barking in the vacant lots adjacent to the hotel. When we complained they delivered a fan to the room which is something i would expect from a cheap hostel . We decided to leave 2 hours in our stay and they would not reimburse the stay ( no A/C is a problem ). They offered a higher floor but still not good because heat rises and the neighborhood is still noisy . Feels more like a cheap 3 star definately not 5.

The hotel was nice. The people did not do a good job with the parking situation. The booking clearly states that self parking is included in the booking. When we arrived the parking lot that has 15 spaces for a very large hotel, was completely full. We were told we could park in a different garage near by (5 min walk). This cost 10 eu a day. One advantage to booking this hotel was the availability of parking, and that was not the case upon check in. I would like it to be know that parking is NOT included in the booking as advertised.

Stayed there in June 2025. Staff were fantastic. Hotel really good. Only thing I would have slightly criticised was the lack of water heating in the swimming pools. Still able to enjoy a swim, though. Otherwise, I couldn’t fault it at all.

I have stayed in many such resorts around the world but would rate this as the worst experience. First of all it was not a great beach , and the beach facilities were below par, only one bar on the beach and the beach service is bad. the rooms were outdated for the money and not great. not a great experience . Food was not great too.

Good, comfortable, for a city hotel it was adequate but not epic. The breakfast was fantastic though and same as the service. We unfortunately we're there when there was a convention taking place in the lobby so it made it exceptionally congested. For a 5 star I expected more.

Short but sweet stay while passing through Heraklion, great location for archaeological museum, close to bus stop to Knossos, and walking distance to centre for restaurants and Venetian fort. Modern and clean, quiet room, great breakfast buffet with nice small internal courtyard to eat outside.

Great hotel .

Hotel itself is excellent. Modern , clean & well looked after . The area is a little amongst the gritty end . We booked a harbour view room.but feel it was misleading as view was only 20% of the working port , 80% of surrounding neighbourhood and buildingimgs . So maybe don't pay for a view , IMO.

The best features was the quality of the food—which was decent/good—and the roof pool (although too small). The staff and service was poor. Water during dinner was not included in our half-board plan. The hotel was quite reluctant to put some (of our paid) breakfast in a box for us to take to the airport (they gave us something, but not enough for one person). The general impression was just a typical characterless three-star hotel (officially five).

Aquila Atlantis Hotel is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning and the options available were very good. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds. A building next to the hotel was being renovated/rebuilt and caused noise on some of the mornings we were there even with the window closed. Apart from that the hotel was quiet.
We were disappointed that the air conditioning wasn’t available as the room got hot at night. We couldn’t leave the window open because of the building work. We were offered a fan, however. The bathroom was very nice but its layout was a bit strange as the toilet was in the shower cubicle. The shower was big but obviously the floor got wet when someone had a shower as did the toilet. Our only other issue was that because the balcony had a solid cement wall, when sitting on the balcony you couldn’t see anything.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Aquila Atlantic.

The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms are well appointed, and they even gave us an upgrade at no additional charge, which was very much appreciated. The staff are all professional and friendly. The reason I gave four instead of five stars was for the tremendous construction noise that was right outside our window. It started very early in the morning. We would’ve appreciated having a heads up there was construction going onso that we could’ve chosen a room perhaps facing the opposite direction. Otherwise the hotel was lovely.

Dated soulless hotel good location beware parking

Not a 5 star...but a good 3 star.
Location great for walking Old Town and restarunts and shops.

12 parking spaces for a very large hotel...parking is a nightmare.

Reception and bar service good. But no atmospere in restaraunt or bar.

Rooftop with pool only which closes at 1800. Stunning views but no bar or restaruant....crazy!

This is a 5 star hotel. All staff members are extremely friendly and ready to help. We got a room upgrade when we arrived without even asking for it. The room is clean and the bathroom is well divided, with large shower cabin. There is also a large balcony.
The included breakfast is very good and with a lot of traditional Greek and Continental choices. All in all a very good experience.
One problem is that the hotel has only 11 parking spaces. However, the reception staff is doing their best to find parking on surrounding streets when the hotel parking gets full.
We will definitely stay here again.

This property is right in the city, close to the port. It is walkable to many of the nice shopping and dinning areas. We took a cab one day to a beach - it was 15 Euros. We really liked Herkalion and this was a lovely hotel. We did have an issue with our phone not working which we mentioned multiple times but was never fixed.
