The hotel is on the edge of a couple of interesting areas, a square by a cathedral and a large area of pedestrian friendly streets with dozens of restaurants and cafes. There is also a mini Mart within sight to the left of the entrance and to the right is a supermarket a couple or so blocks away.

Excellent , value-for-money hotel in the centre of Heraklion close to restaurants and food stalls .10-15 -minute walk from the waterfront .The bus to the airport passes on the other side of the road .As the hotel is on a main road it can be a little noisy but no problem with wax earplugs .The breakfasts -included in the price- were fine, and the staff on the front desk were friendly and helpful .I'd happily stay there again .

Staff were incredibly kind! We showed up early around 11am & our room was already ready which was so nice after flying in from Athens that morning. The free breakfast was decent & I had no issues checking out early. My only complaint is they gave us a sheet but no actual blankets so it was a bit cold at night. Also, no laundry facilities as stated on the page.

When requesting assistance to book a rental car, a staff person obviously took a gratuity from an agency, which delivered a car and demanded cash for the total one week rental. To give credit, the first car was toosmall for 3 large adults with large luggage, and a larger car was located in less than 2 hours, but I have never before rented a car with a demand for cash, an no facility to record eligible drivers licences and credit cards. In a previous trip, the hotel performed properly.
I have rented more than 300 cars, but only a few in Greece!
This was inconvenient and a great disappointment!

We found this hotel to be the closest to the old and modern town at the same time. Perfect for our trip.
It didn't have an own parking lot but an agreement with one next door.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. We were there an hour earlier for our check-in, they had the room ready in less than ten minutes. Record time check out.
Highly recommended!

When we checked in, we were told they had a problem with the pipes and the water would be shut off for an hour while they fixed it. Four hours later, it was finally back on. During this time, we called the reception desk and visited it in person only to be told they weren't sure how long it would be as they didn't actually know what the problem was.
It was the middle of summer, 35 degrees, and no effort was made by then to provide bottled water to drink, or provide alternatives for the toilet during this time. The whole situation was handled very poorly and made for a horrible start to our stay here.

The room wasn't serviced throughout our stay, which was odd as it is not a self contained apartment building and the included breakfast was of a very poor standard.

Ok for a quick stay

The hotel is quite old and it is facing a busy street. We just stayed one night before heading to Chania. We were picking up the rental car in the airport and there is the direct bus on the main entrance of the hotel, so that’s super good. Also the room was clean and breakfast was having a good variety of stuff. Also, staff is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend if you need it for a short stay.

The room is very small, almost hard to walk around, but there's a nice, spacious balcony that opens up to the street. Housecleaning in the morning is very noisy, you can hear furniture being moved above the other floors, and it's also noisy from the street below. The location is good, the staff is friendly. Close to main streets in the city and to many restaurants that stay open late. For the price, it's a good deal for the location and friendliness of the staff.

A good base for exploring the town

The room was noisy at night - but most Heraklion rooms are, due to a lot of street noise. The breakfast is good and it is worth getting a deal that includes it.
The area is not scenic but is in a very practical location with good ordinary shops and cafes nearby. This is a very convenient hotel for getting around Heraklion by foot.

Iraklion Hotel is a great option in Heraklion. It's nice and clean. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean and it's recently renovated. Walking around from there is great and it's a few minute walk from the harbor. Breakfast is nice. I'd love to stay there again.

Let down by taxi service

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and pleasant. The wifi service was variable but usually slow and not good enough for video calls home. The bed was slightly hard but I got used to it eventually. My big disappointment was the taxi service I booked through the hotel for my return trip to the airport. The woman driver was a bit of a fraud - I was told on booking that it would cost me €13 but she charged €17, no valid reason given. I know she overcharged because it cost me less from the airport to the hotel and thats usually more expensive and I had more luggage and arrived late at night. I feel let down because I made the booking through the hotel and feel they should be using taxi drivers we can trust or not offer the taxi booking service at all.

Courteous,kind and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for you.The room was adequate for a short stay.We had a room overlooking a busy road which made for a noisy time when out on the balcony.Lion square and the walls were all within walking distance,as were the archaeological museum,history museum and fortress.Some excellent eating places around Lion Square and the buzz of the place was amazing.

The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the central square of Heraklion, on a busy street. The rooms are modest, but the fixtures and A/C are relatively new and work well. The breakfast was good, and the personnel friendly and helpful. The wifi was very erratic in our room, virtually useless, but worked well in the lobby. For the price I paid, it was good value.

You get what you pay for

I spent only one night at the iraklion hotel as I arrived late on the ferry. The hotel is 25mins walk from the port but only 5mins walk from the main pedestrian area with lots of restaurants and cafes. The hotel is old and basic but clean and the staff is very friendly: I was checked in in less than a minute which was amazing! I managed to sleep relatively well despite the inexistant sound proofing. I'd use again for one night if need be.

Paid more for a room wth 2 beds but received one double bed room. Also paid for a room with air con but air did not work. Asked to move to another room but was told that hotel was full.
It was very hot and noisy from street noise ... we did not sleep all night.

The street the hotel is on and the hotel itself isn't the \"prettiest\"--we were a bit wary at first. It's also in a pretty congested area w small streets. We were only there for one night, to catch the ferry the next morning. The room was satisfactory for one night, but def not what we expected from pictures.
Just a 5 min walk away however, was the Heraklion/ Lion square (?) w lovely shops and stores and many restos. So that's where we spent our evening --walking around and grabbing a bite to eat before heading back to the hotel.

We very much enjoyed our week-long stay in this very nice hotel. It is centrally located in a vivacious neighborhood in the heart of Heraklion, just a few minutes walk to the museums, restaurants, plazas, waterfront and other interesting neighborhoods. The hotel staff was professional, helpful, genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room was comfortable, very clean, with nice beds and a balcony with a pleasant view of the neighborhood. The hotel's location and advice of staff helped us get immersed in the everyday life of Heraklion as well as enjoy the tourist attractions. We highly recommend this hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers. I stayed here for 10 nights and was very happy with the hotel. It was clean and well looked after, with a good breakfast, and there is a lift. The staff are outstanding, so kind and helpful and always cheerful. They happily helped me with every query. The position is so good too, right in the heart of the town and only a short walk to the sea. There are lots of places to eat just a short stroll away. If I go back to Iraklion, I will certainly stay at this hotel again, and will recommend it to friends.

We stated on the booking form that we would be coming with a wheelchair, but there is no disabled facility at all, with even the bathroom having a large step up to it in our small, very noisy, next to the road room. Luckily, we could walk some steps but even so had to leave the hotel after two days of an eight night pre-paid booking. It made no sense for them to accept our booking when we made it clear what our circumstances were. We did not ask for a refund because we should have researched more thoroughly ourselves.

The room itself was dark (no central light) and there was hardly any room to move as the bed nearly filled the space. The bathroom was large and functional, but the toilet seat didn't fit and had sharp edges. The cleanliness was reasonable in the main living space of the room, but the corners and edges were not clean. Air-conditioning was noisy, but not as noisy as the road and hotel! Fine for people who are not disabled looking for a cheap hotel in the very centre of Heraklion, and who don't mind a frayed-at-the-edges feel. The staff were pleasant.

I really enjoyed my stay at Iraklion hotel. The staff was very helpful, polite, friendly and had great recommendations for restaurants and local information. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was nice. This hotel was a great value with great staff and a location you can't beat. The bus stop for Knossos and the airport is across the street. Lots of choices for bars, bakeries, supermarket coffee shops and all sorts of other shops within two blocks. The venetian port, lions square are a short walk away. I would certainly stay the next time I come to Iraklio.

Walking distance to everything in town. Easy bus or taxi to Knosos. Beach access by car or taxi or bus. Beaches are decent and cheap. Heraklion is not as touristy as Santorini, which is a big benifit. Less crowds, less expensive, more laid back.

I booked this place for myself and 2 friends during a cross Greece month long tour. I had no idea it was this nice and was incredibly pleasantly surprised. When getting off the ferry we chose to walk to the hotel, it is quite doable if you weren't as exhausted and cranky as we were. I didn't realize that this was so close to the tourist area of restaurants and shops until the next day when we actually started exploring and it was a very lovey surprise. The concierge service was lovely and they helped as plan multiple excursions, to Knossos, to wineries, and made excellent suggestions. We also had a surprise ocean view. Would definitely book again.

We only stayed there one night, but were very pleased with the hotel. The room was clean and had a nice little balcony. It was a short walk to the main area where there was shopping and restaurants. It was about a 20 min walk to the bus station and a few more minutes to the ferry port. Very easy to find. The area felt safe, as well. The breakfast was also very good.

Easy walk to many restaurants, though one of the bus stations was a bit of a hike, and the port was a far walk with a heavy suitcase. Only cost 15eu for a cab from airport. A good base for exploring nearby areas like Knossos and even a day trip to Phaestos across the island. Breakfast was the same every day, but a good variety.

Great surprise. We had been told that Heraklion wasn't really worth a visit, but as our ferry left mid morning, we stayed for just one night to avoid any morning traffic hassle.
However, Heraklion was certainly worth a visit of more than one day; the hotel was excellent, great staff - very friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel location was only about 300 metres to the buzzing old city of Heraklion & took us only 5-6 minutes to drive to the ferry terminal in the morning. We will be back to visit Heraklion and will be staying at the Iraklion. Thankyou for a great, if brief stay.

Convenient location, only 5 minutes to Lion Sqaure where all the shops and restaurants are; and 20 minutes walk to the Old Port and Ferry.

The staff is extremely helpful, provided me with a map upon arrival and explained to me where to go to the different places. The complimentary breakfast was great!

The room itself is average standard, has a little balcony attached. The only downside is that it gets too noisy at night as my room was facing the street side. You can hear people screaming and motorbike sounds.

Overall great value if you are looking for affordable hotels. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center. Overnight parking available right next to the hotel for five euros if you are a guest of the hotel. Room and room were small. Breakfast was includeded. Simple, but delicious. If you are active during the day and looking for a place to sleep comfortably, I highly recommend this hotel.

Does the basics very well

This was a very quick stay as I was arriving at @ 4am following an extremely late flight and leaving at midday. The hotel is basic but does the basics well. What were important to me were comfort, convenience and cleanliness and these were all very satisfactory. The bed was very comfortable, all the linen and towels were clean and fresh, the aircon worked as did the plumbing so I was perfectly happy. A buffet breakfast was included in the price, of which you could have as much or as little as you liked. Again, this was basic but good quality and had a variety of options which could suit most needs. The person on reception who greeted me had me in my room very quickly and was there also to check me out. Friendly and professional. Probably some of the decor could be updated but that for me was minor and otherwise the hotel did it's job very well.

We stayed twice in August. Very clean hotel, excellent location near the centre and good restaurants. Helpful front desk staff always made us welcome, booked cabs, made phone calls and recommended where to eat and visit. Rooms at the back are quieter but they are well sealed and have good aircon so it's not an issue, we always slept well. A room with a shower screen is better as the typical small Greek bathroom gets wet with the hand held shower head and no screen or curtain. Prices vary on the hotel sites but you if can find this discounted it is a bargain. Retail price is still good value. Wifi is good. Bed was very comfortable in both rooms.

Nice hotel in a good location: about 5 mins walk to the centre of town and a few more mins to the archaelogical museum (which is a must-see). 10-15 min stroll down to the waterfront through the main shopping area. Friendly enough front desk staff. Room clean and comfortable, but small. Continental breakfast served 7-10. Would happily stay here again.

Great location. close to city center

Our ferry arrived late so checked in around 8pm. The staff told us there's no more room for us but have us a key to another which was strange. He was not friendly at all. The was nice and clean. The morning staff was great. He greet us abs recommended a couple beaches for us and show us how to get there. Overall, location was very close to city center. pretty much walk everywhere.

The room wasn't clean at all! And the Wifi was not fast. The rest was ok. We liked the modern design! The breakfast is really expensive.

Lovely hotel and staff in a central area

This hotel is a really nice place with comfortable beds, spacious rooms and good bathrooms. The staff were very helping and helped us with our public transport arrangements to the local archaeological sites which was very nice of them.
The location of the hotel was great, right in the centre of town. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a more upmarket hotel at a reasonable price.

Great Locale, price. Couldn't ask for more.

The staff was wonderful. Tiny room, but we didn't go to Crete to stay in our room! We had a wonderful balcony, and a drying rack on said balcony, and a fridge in the room, and a view of the ocean, if you looked carefully.

Within a 10 minute walk of Lion Square and the market.

We would DEFINITELY stay here again.
