Great location! You could not get any closer to Chenonceaux castle if you tried! Room was very large, with separate seating area, desk area, and bed. Helpful staff and delicious dinner. Nice bar area with room to read near the fire. Would stay again!

We had two rooms, each with a sleeping area, nicely-furnished sitting area, and large bathroom--all this for an unbelievable reasonable rate. The dining room is beautiful. The breakfast, was outstanding and reasonably priced. We did not have dinner here. The front desk staff and dining room staff were extraordinarily helpful and capable.

A stay with mixed feelings

Room was well cleaned. Cleaning staff were friendly when we passed them as we were departing. Room was quiet and enjoyable, bathroom tired and basic but functional and clean. Swimming pool was larger than expected and a peaceful haven. Negatives were lack of receptionist at departure, being presented with our “bill” and not being permitted to leave without paying… we had already paid. We booked the hotel on account of its recommended restaurant which we were told on arrival wouldn’t cater or amend their existing menu to cater to vegetarians nor vegans. Ridiculous in this day and age, you cannot claim “eco” credentials if you are forcing meat and dairy and offering no alternative. Equally, you cannot claim to be environmentally conscious while offering nescafé sachets for coffee! Nescafé instant coffee has no place in a mid range room. Do better - people expect local ingredients, demonstration of eco awareness and better service. The welcome at the hotel was great, the person went out of their way to accommodate my reduced mobility and changed our room last minute which was unexpected, but we were very grateful for. Fortunately the hotel opposite was really accommodating in adapting their menu and offering dishes that were meat free for the duration of our stay. They really went above and beyond for us and we would recommend others to eat there.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay here. A five-minute walk to the chateau de Chenonceau and short drives to many others. Excellent service. Plan to dine in the restaurant; the cuisine is wonderful with fair prices and excellent servers, and the atmosphere on the beautiful terrace couldn’t be better. Very quiet at night. Easy parking. Hard to imagine what else one could want. (A personal note: I stayed in this hotel about 20 years ago. When deciding to return to this area, I remembered the staff and how much I had enjoyed my stay and selected it again. I will select it the next time as well and recommend it to friends. The hotel is run by the same management as it was 20 years ago. It is beautiful, and the people running it are terrific! Wonderful time! I will certainly be back. Thank you to all the staff!)

Overall, we had a great night here. Very clean and spacious, and well maintained. 5 minutes walk to Chateau Chenonceau. The only thing that was a bit problematic was that the room door lock system was getting old, so I could not easily lock or unlock the door and ask for the receptionist's help. Hopefully, the lock will be replaced before the busy season starts!

As the primary reason for our visit was to tour the Chateau Chenonceaux the location was perfect. The walk from the Hotel to the Chateau gates would be a pleasant 10minute max. Great off street parking and highly professional young woman at reception was welcoming and helpful. Room (29) was spacious clean and decorated nicely (although I got the feeling someone who knew what they were doing started but wasn’t allowed to finish). Crappy art is never good in any hotel- better to have none- but just a nice print of the Chateau would be a suggestion. Bed was very comfortable and excellent shower. Couple of negatives that led me to disappointment 1) our WiFi connected for about 10mins then just quit 2) there was some weird instructions in the compendium about no food being allowed in rooms or risk a 90€ fee? And the only food allowed in the fridge was for baby’s (I wish we had a fridge)? 3) the toilet had a bit of a faint weird smell

I've stayed here twice when visiting the Loire Valley, and was never disappointed. Our room was lovely and breakfast was great (across the street). We could easily walk to Chenonceau chateau and also fit the chateau at Ambois into our day. Perfect! I'd love to return - there are still chateaux I haven't visited!

Hôtel la Roseraie was a pleasant stay quite close to the old town of Vannes. The room was nicely decorated, and included an in room kettle, bathrobes, and effective air conditioning. Free parking was a plus. It is also very close to the train station, and a short 10 minute walk to the old town of Vannes.

Mixed feelings about Hotel La Roseraie

This was a great location with a nice restaurant, and a pretty outdoor area. The staff could not have been nicer with great service. Other than the comfortable bed, the room really needed refurbishing. We called maintenance for the safe and the bath had very little cold water and no pressure. The pictures are somewhat misleading as to the room size and looks.

Lovely hotel very close to Chenonceau Chateau

This is a lovely hotel, only a few minutes walk from the Chateau. This means you can leave your car in the hotel car park and get to the Chateau early to avoid the crowds. You can also buy reduced price entry tickets for the Chateau at the hotel reception so you don't need to queue when you get there. We had a very pleasant room which was nicely decorated. However I would have appreciated a fridge as the weather was so hot and also there were no tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was small but had a good shower. However there were no shelves for toiletries and not even a soap dish by the sink. We ate in the lovely terrace restaurant for both nights of our stay and the food was excellent. Breakfast was also good, if a little pricy, and unusually for France there was a hot buffet with bacon, sausages and eggs. The gardens were absolutely stunning and well maintained and a pleasant place to sit with a drink in the evening. A big plus is that the hotel has a swimming pool with lots of sun beds - perfect after a day of activities in the Loire Valley. However when we were there the shower by the pool wasn't working. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at La Rosarie and will return if we're in the area.

The hotel is quaint and very cute. Our room was sufficiently large to accommodate our two large suitcases. The large bed was firm and comfortable. Our room faced the village’s main road, but we were not bothered by any road noise as there was almost none. The best aspect of the hotel is it’s location within walking distance of Chenonceau chateau. We had breakfast at the hotel and found it good although it was among the most expensive of our holiday.

Pretty setting and handy to Chateau

A very pretty setting with a lovely warm welcome from Marie. It was a cold day and they had thoughtfully heated our room.
There were one or two things we were not quite happy with but when we discussed this on our departure, they listened and adjusted our bill accordingly. Over all we enjoyed our stay here and would happily recommend it.
The CHATEAU was magnificent and the gardens were gorgeous

We happened to see hot air balloon when looking for a dinner spot...there were at least 7 balloons that we saw, what a wonderfully unexpected surprise.

Cheonceau is a peaceful quiet village to base to visit other chateaux in addition to the lovely Chenonceaux.

Pretty hotel, pretty disappointing extras.

The hotel is pretty and quaint, as well as conveniently located close to Chateau Chenonceau. If you choose to try their restaurant for dinner, Jérome will make it an enjoyable experience for you!

However, the room we were assigned to did not match the photo of the room we reserved through Expedia. As well, despite this hotel advertising that all rooms include WiFi, we were told upon arrival that it would be unavailable in ours. The buffet breakfast is limited in variety and quantity. We had to inquire about whether or not the eggs and meat would be refilled. The coffee was cold and the service to be seated was slow. I would recommend grabbing a coffee and croissant from a nearby bakery instead.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean just unfortunately outdated, especially the bathroom. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They have their own parking so there is no problem when you travel by car. Breakfast was good, substantial. I strongly recommend to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant. This experience is worth the money spent, the menu is great and the food is delicious. I would gladly come back.

Disappointment & Inconvenience

We had stayed at this hotel ten years before under different ownership. By coincidence, we had the same room. There had been some changes but not in good taste. The toilet was out of order for the first 24 hours. The new lavatory was wide but ridiculously shallow with no overhead light. No towel racks or hooks. Miniature chairs in the bedroom.
In my opinion, the new owner is not suited to being an inn-keeper. All the parking was situated in the back of the property with the only access down a side drive and through a car port. The owner decided the dig a huge hole in the carport floor one morning which precluded our party from using our car for half the day. On the day we checked out we set our car on the driveway while we loaded the luggage. The owner drove up and parked behind our car, boxing us in, and disappeared into the hotel. Time was of the essence for us but we had to spend much time tracking the owner to get him to remove his car. No apologies. We can no longer recommend this hotel.

Our favorite hotel on our trip.

The La Roseraie was our favorite hotel on our recent trip to the Loire Valley. We felt very welcome by the wonderful owners and staff at this great hotel. The owners and staff speak impeccable English. They are both welcoming and helpful. Each day we were there we simply told them where we were going and the owner pulled out an information sheet about our destination showed us how to get there and even where to park. Our room had a nice size balcony above the restaurant we were able to sit out there every evening and unwind after a great day of touring. Chateau Chenonceau is only a 5 min walk from the hotel. The breakfast each morning is an exceptional value and the food is delicious. The restaurant serves meals in the evening too and they are absolutely delicious as well. If you are planning to go to the Loire and visit the chateau this is an excellent place to make your home base. Stay in this nice village of Chenonceaux and get a real French experience. Forget the big cities like Amboise and Tours. Stay here. I know the next time we go we will stay most of our trip at La Roseraie

A Wonderful Hotel!

It was absolutely fabulous. Very friendly staff who put us in an upgraded room since we were staying for three nights. The meals were fantastic and we took EVERY meal at the hotel. The setting was very beautiful and full of roses. If you want to see the chateau, this is the place to stay since you can walk a short distance through an authentic ville to it. Loved it!

We had visited Chatteau Chambord in the morning and then drove to Chenonceaux in the late afternoon. This hotel was very easy to find and park at. You can then easily walk to the Chatteau in 5 minutes. It even has a pool that was very clean. The staff was super friendly to these non French speaking visitors.

A nice old hotel in the country

The hotel is close to the castle, and very quaint--exactly what you might expect in the French countryside. The WiFi didn't quite reach to our room, unfortunately, which made sense in a way because the room looked like it was straight out of the mid-1940s (which was refreshing in a way). Still, reality: there were a lot of mosquitoes in the garden angling to get into the room, as well as landscapers in the morning using power trimmers who could have cared less about getting dirt in the eyes of passing guests. As with many things in France, the restaurant was also closed by the time we arrived just before 9:00 P.M. (when reception also closes).

Great comfy renovated room, quaint city

This hotel was the highlight (among hotels) of a month long tour of France. Walking distance to Chateau Chenonceau, somehow the quaint village remained peaceful and quiet. This hotel was recently renovated, beautiful comfortable and large room with uncommon amenities for small cities in France like separate bath and shower, ac, comfy king bed, fridge. Great garden view from the room, friendly staff, free convenient parking, great pool. It warms my heart to find such a great hotel in such a quaint city, amazingly convenient to the beautiful chateau. Would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely garden, helpful staff, no wifi in room

The room was okay but the wifi only worked in the lobby (although it apparently works in some rooms). There was no fridge or hot water for tea and no place to put the suitcase except the floor. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and the garden is lovely. It was nice to have the little parking lot. There was a nice little patisserie around the corner for breakfast.

Staff could have been more helpful when we were leaving. It was raining heavily, the carpark a distance away. It was not until a French driver brought his car up to reception and made them move out door tables out of the way so that he could get through that several of us realised we could do that. There was no help offered with luggage or when I slipped on the wet floor in reception.

Guests having dinner seemed more of an inconvenience than welcome.

Nice Hotel convenient for the Chateau

I stayed in a room in the back of the hotel at first floor level which is approached from an upper level external gallery and terrace, additional to the original part of the hotel. These rooms are very pleasant, quiet and have an outlook to the garden. From my experience of staying here on a number of occasions these rooms are the best. The lady who runs the hotel speaks at least three languages and she and her staff are all delightful and helpful. On a summer's evening an outside terrace adjoining the dining room is very pleasant for an alfresco supper. I have stayed here on three previous occasions and will probably return again.

This is a roadside hotel but still quiet enough at this location. Very spacious rooms and good service although the food is not exciting if you stay more than 1 day.

Jerome and Sabine are excellent hotel managers. Sante to Jerome and Sabine, and their staff. Food was extraordinary! Great chef, excellent service, wonderful people. If in Chenoceaux, Hotel La Roseraie is the place to stay and dine !

a wonderful little hotel with a charming garden and breakfast area. We had our own terrace as well with table and chairs and were able to walk to the castle.

Great location for area sightseeing

Sabine one of the owners very friendly and helpful. Spoke good English. Convenient location for our needs. No elevator. Restaurant meal was very good.

Pretty little hotel but...

The hotel is located in a very picturesque surrounding and in a short walking distance from the Chateau de Chenonceau, the members of staff are very helpful and friendly and there is a free car park. In theory you can use wi-fi but it barely works in the rooms, have to sit in the lobby. Our room was tastefully decorated but the toilet was ridiculously small. The bathroom was fine and first of all it was very clean. The bed was comfy but there was a blanket which in my personal opinion is not a very hygienic type of bedding. Soundproofing doesn't exist in this hotel so you can hear your neighbours talking, using the toilet or washing hands. The restaurant at the hotel is very pricey so we chose to go to another hotel, where the waiter asked twice what we wanted and eventually brought something else. Breakfast was also very expensive. In general, the hotel is not too bad, clean and pretty but it needs some improvement and definitely you wouldn't call it value for money.

Lovely hotel very close to the chateau

What a lovely hotel, with comfy rooms, lots of space, nice garden and pool - and all two minutes from the chateau. Many of the rooms face the road through the village but quadruple glazing helps reduce the noise to a murmur. Rooms are great and the staff helpful despite limited English. Free parking on first come first served basis. We didn't eat here as the restaurant was closed on Tuesdays (we over the road in the Logis) and breakfast was ridiculously expensive. Wifi didn't work sadly.

Great service, location and rooms

Room was large, clean and well appointed. We had our own balcony terrace, TV, excellent AC and clean bathroom with bath. Upon arrival we were welcomed warmly and directed park out the back (heaps of parking!). The lovely attendant spoke great English and told us about the best times to visit the Château. After showing us to our room and helping with our bags (there is no lift) we were told there is a pool! And were offered towels to use, so we had a lovely private afternoon swim. Dinner was also reserved for us in the downstairs French restaurant. Waiters in the restaurant were a little more 'French' but polite enough. And dinner was lovely. Bed was a little lumpy and only a blanket was provided. Short walking distance to Château de Chenonceau which we did at night and in the morning. Overall a brilliant stay in a perfect location with warm hospitality! Would definitely recommend to others!

We had stayed before, in 2011, and we are glad that we returned. The weather didn't allow us to take advantage of the piscine, unfortunately, but we had a very comfortable night after a good dinner in the hotel restaurant and we enjoyed a full breakfast the following morning. It was good to be able to park our car out of sight in the hotel grounds, and to walk round Chenonceaux before and after dinner: the hotel is well placed in the heart of the village. Our spacious room had a bath, which we appreciated. The hotel management were responsive and efficient.

a hidden gem

the gardens are absolutely spectacular. This hotel is right next to the castle and you cannot get any closer. The food in the evening was mediocre and The server's lack of English contributed to the problem. I thought I was ordering salmon and in fact I was ordering salmonette which is more like a trout and was very oily. the pool Is very cold even though it says the hotel offers a heated pool on their door. Reserve a superior room as they are really nice and large with a king size bed. the owner, Sabine, is really helpful And an outstanding innkeeper. Wifi is really bad.

Great welcome, great location, great food

Wonderful ! The hotel location is fantastic and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room and bathroom were a little tired but the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for the dog in the room. There is car park at the hotel and the hotel is next to the Chateau .We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant and were able to take the dog with us which was a real plus for us. We will most definitely go back

Delightful

La Roseraie is located very close to the chateau at Chenonceaux. It has retained some old world charm which has been combined with modern efficiency. Our room was huge with some period furniture and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed a relaxing hour by the very clean swimming pool after our visit to the chateau and our evening meal was of a high standard. The staff were very efficient and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay..

Dated hotel but wonderful staff

Hotel very well located to access easily many castles and little towns. This site has a lot of potential but it lacked maintenance. The rooms and hallways are really dated, especially the carpets that are completely worned out and stained. This hotel is in a desesperate need of a renovation. The beds are hard, the pull out couch matress has reached the end of its life. The bathroom was tiny, no blower provided, no room to put your personal belonging. There were no electical outlet near a mirror. The wifi was not working every day. But the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff made our stay wonderfull. They went out of their way to assist us and even made reservations to great restaurants for us. As we stayed 4 days, we wanted to try other ones than the hotel one (wihch was great also). The pool was fantastic. I would go back.

Great hotel for Château de Chenonceau

The hotel was in a great location. We traveled by train from Paris and chenonceau, as well as the hotel were less than a 5 minute walk from the station. The staff was wonderful and many of them spoke English. It was a nice quiet location and provided for great relaxation.

We were graciously greeted and helped with tips for restaurants, visiting the Chateau Chenonceau which is a short stroll down a tree lined road next to the hotel. The facility was charming and the outdoor areas lovely and inviting.

The room was fine, and dinner quite good. Nice to stay in town to enjoy the chateau until closing then walk back to the hotel. There are many fewer visitors at chateau in those last couple hours before closing. Friendly welcome at hotel and restaurant.
