Immediately after leaving I developed multiple bug bites which can only have come from bed bugs or similar -- otherwise OK for the price.

Stairs and passage ways excellent. Room ok clean and tidy, bathroom clean but shower works ok...but couldn’t get water to run in bath. Sink ok but stiff tap. Dining/kitchen room well equipped opposite office. Would stay again. Limited parking...good location.

Great child -friendly place to stay !

Very clean basic hotel but with comfort where it matters Rooms clean beds very comfortable Bedding clean and fresh Children's bunk beds solid and stable
Shared bathroom and toilets clean and bright
Lady on reception really really friendly and most helpful A good start for guests! 😊
Would definitely stay again especially with grandchildren

This is not a hotel it’s more like a hostel the rooms are small the beds are small with only one bedside cabinet my wife couldn’t even wash her hair as there was no hair dryer the door entry system is awful with a code and not much light to see it late at night the only good thing is the location I would never stay there again and I think hotels.com need to go and see the place

The bed was very hard and squeaky however the bedding was clean apart from one small mark on one pilow. The towels were lovely and clean and soft. The bathroom had a dampish odour.

Needs a little TLC.

One night stay

Perfect place for quick stop over or overnight, great for exploring a city or even backpacking. Enough beds for my group,separate shower snd toilets and a shared kitchen area ideal for quick meals or hot drinks.

Good location, basic but functional

Fantastic location, close to the beach and some nice small cafes/restaurants.
Super set up with fridges and a small kitchenette. Clean and modern. Beds were very hard. Curtains did not block any light out so we were awake from 04.30. Apart from that a super stay.

Southsea does rock.

Nice, clean basic hotel. Staff helpful, facilities okay, if you are prepared to share a bathroom.
Not sure how the dining room was meant to work.
TV had intermittent breaks in viewing and limited channels.
Good location close to the beach, pier, local Co-op and the bus passed by quite close.
Southsea is a very nice vibrant town. Glad I went.

Clean and basic

Hotel is clean, tidy and basic. Kitchen is for all hotel stayers so there is no kettle in your room.
It's located in a fantastic place right by the seafront.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Just remember your photo id when checking in.

We were placed in a family room in the basement part of the hotel and on the other side of our room was the communal staircase - our beds were also next to this, wall so the children and ourselves were unable to get to sleep until early hours. The people above us were also very noisy and the soundproofing was poor in our room. We're leaving very tired.

Clean / tidy and suiable for us to catch the morning ferry.
Parking facility essential, so possibly in high season may not be so lucky??
Maybe just a basic tea making in the room more convenient and a bit more room in the bathroom!
But oveall it suited our needs.

The stuff was friendly first
But I’m very disappointed my car worth more than all the cars was parked there and there was no car park
I literally stayed over for 10 days cuz of my work
Everyday I had issue to park my car
I asked the reception night
He said I have to pay them £10 I don’t know cuz of my expensive car or just they trying to fraud me
Because on Hotels.com it says Free WiFi
Ans Free parking
But I never book there again cuz there is no space for car park
Also one night I couldn’t find car park after driving round more than 30min for car park
In the end I parked on drive way peivate and next morning the Nighbour be like Is that ur car don’t park there on my drive way
And I explained whole situation
And they were racist and dirty talking
Anyways
I’m regret I wasted my money on that hotel
I had very bad experience

The unique thing about this property is that there are no staff to help if you get locked out of your room after 6pm, which resulted in me sleeping on a park bench close by. Completely unacceptable, i finally recieved a call at 7:15 the next morning from some rude woman who made me feel like it was an effort to help me, consluding in her just saying someone will be down at 8am to let you in.... The customer service in the joke of a hotel is the worse i have ever experienced while working away from home. They really dont care about their guests, in addition to this the hotel (if you can call it that) is not covid safe, the toilets were dirty and clearly havent been cleaned within a 24 hour period this is proven by no members of staff being in the premises all night. And on top of all that there was no hot water to even wash your hands, didnt even bother with the shower complete horror show of a place. Parking is also hard to find and the rooms are incredibly small. Do your self a favour and book somewhere else if you are reading this. I am still waiting for a refund which they are being very difficult about with shows just how terrible this place is after the experience i had... southsea sucks should be the new name of this place!

There was no covid19 restrictions at all. There is shared bathroom, we asked for antibacterial spray so we can clean before shower but nothing was available. We only stayed 1 night without using shower. I have cancelled 3 other nights, no refund given. Staff lied. Will never stayed there again and will never recommend to anyone.

top floor had to many steps to climb

when we booked this hotel we needed to be near toilets , but we were not told it would be on the top floor and we had to climb four set of steps to reach the top floor,we should have been better informed.Free parking was advertised , but not enough spaces for every one to park and was told we had to pay £4 50 for a permit for a twenty four hour stay..so we were very disappointed.

Great stay at Southsea Rocks Hotel

We had room 8. It shared bathroom facilities with Room 9 but we had a shower room, seperate toilet and a combined shower and toilet room between the 2 rooms so we didn't have an issues.

Reception were friendly and welcoming. The rooms we clean and there was free tea/coffee in the lounge downstairs. This was a perfect location for us. Would stay again.

Basic facilities, friendly staff and well located. Rooms are cramp and stuffy, booked a triple room (1 bunk bed an a single). Common areas well maintained and clean. Our room wasn't unfortunately. The curtains had what it appeared to be blood stains, the radiator had coffee marks and the carpets were awfully dirty, covered in stains and marks, specially next to the single bed.

Loved it !

We really enjoyed our stay. It was warm welcoming, comfortable, perfect location (everything is in walking distance). The staff were lovely as they accidentally made a mistake with our room but they apologized once realised and fixed the problem within minutes. One gentleman (staff) kindly asked us how we were different times of the day, if we knew the area, how our day was and actually directed us to all the good restaurants and pubs that were only a 5 minute walk away.
So we are definitely happy with the service and what we paid for.
We will hopefully be going back again.
*In the photo the bedding is wrinkled because we led on it before taking the photo*

Cheap but not very cheerful

A very small room - not enough space for both of us to stand up at the same time. The advertised free-parking only works if you get there early enough to grab one of the very limited spaces. Otherwise, you have to pay for an on-street parking permit. There is no fridge or kettle in the room; all rooms share a fridge and kettle in the kitchenette area on the ground floor, which isn't very helpful if you are on the 3rd floor. All in all, not very expensive, but you don't get much for your cash.

They had not been advised there now two men, given a room with just a double bed, the foot board was Broken,was not on-suite. Felt the money paid was not worth what was offered. Very limited parking on site, had to purchase permit for each night.

The hotel was in a great spot,very clean and model decor. Comfortable bunk beds, tea and coffee free in the kitchen area and the showers were spotless. The staff are so friendly and helpful 24 hours a day. I would just ask for a chair or 2 in the room as its only the beds in there. Its opposite the pebble beach, 15/20 minute walk to the arcades and fair. Swimming pool was a 5 minute walk, also the is the D-Day museum and the small Reef Aquarium.

I had a great stay it was a last minutes thing for me and my daughter, thought the price was very good as only 2 min walk from the beach and shop 5 minutes , the place has been done to a lovely standed very clean fresh, had the best night sleep I have had in years, beds were so comfy , only down fall was we was on the ground floor so had the garden bit and let a lot of light in due to the lights being on all night , maybe could do with a blind in there as well as the curtains, and the window open at the bottom not the top so if you had window open you had to close the curtains as people could see in as we found out,
tea coffee all free but you have to go to the kitchen bit for, over all was a very lovely stay and would stay again :)

Looked clean and fresh. There were 10 bottle caps under one of the blankets - so not cleaned very well/ fresh bedding not provided. No way to lock the door at night to keep little ones in. Being in the room below the kitchen meant a late night.

Hotel is very clean and staff are very helpful, but the bed was uncomfortable and lumpy. Parking is limited and if you don't get in one of the 5 spaces outside you have to pay for a voucher to park on the road, so its a bit misleading for the hotel to claim parking is free
