Nice room but no air cond and room was a bit damp. Nice towl warmer but didn’t work… unless there was another switch somewhere else in the main room that was supposed to connect to it… there was no way to know what switch went to it because there was no switchclose to the towel warmer.

A warm welcome and a comfortable stay.

We stayed at Stattons for one night. We arrived early Wed afternoon and easily found an on street parking space. When we checked in, we were given a permit to display in the car. Stattons was a minutes walk from Reception. Our room was upstairs. It wasn't a large room but had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. Breakfast was served in the Reception building. The food was served to our table and was of good quality and well presented. Evening meals were also available. The staff we met were all very polite, friendly, accommodating and professional.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Strattons Hotel. The hotel was one of six I believe. We were just over the road from reception and where the restaurant is located. Very clean room which wasn’t as big as I was expecting but more than adequate for myself and my husband. I arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be in the room for when we arrived, this was done along with a birthday card - lovely touch. Breakfast was brilliant. Quality meat we got to enjoy breakfast outside twice as the weather was beautiful! We shared a pizza one night along with some chips (we both agreed, that the chips were the nicest we’d ever tried)! Location wise, excellent! Short walk into town and about 1.5 miles from Gunwharf Quays, which was lovely to walk around. Staff were lovely, very welcoming, polite and very knowledgeable of the area! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Stayed here with our family of 4, the room was amazing! It is more of a B and B than we normally book, so I was worried about our kids being too loud. I would absolutely go back with my husband, though! Cute town, and so close to the beach. Communication wasn’t always quick, but not sure if that’s because I used the Expedia app?! All in all would stay there again.

Efficient check in, brilliant breakfast, lovely room (could do with different blinds/windows as it was hot and the blinds stopped the breeze coming in). Main bed was fine the trundle beds mattresses were very soft were ok for one night though.?

Unfortunate experience

After I’d booked the accommodation on a non cancellable basis I realised that parking was available for free if you were happy to park on narrow streets or £15 if you parked on a secure car park . When I arrived I was concerned about the safety of the area when I was met by an extremely drunk man that staff members were trying to remove. I therefore agreed to pay the £10 fee to park on one of the drives of the properties forming part of the complex. I have a large saloon car and I struggled to get the car into a space . So I would say if you have a large car that you are concerned for then the £15 parking is a better option but I feel that the charge should be transparent when booking.
The hotel upgraded me to an executive room which was lovely but I was concerned about the security as there’s a central reception desk but no way of policing who had access to the house I was in . There is an electronic door opening system and the same key was used for both main door and bedroom . I may of course have felt differently if I’d not seen the drunk man outside the hotel .

The hotel had only just opened from being reserved and it was lovely. When we arrived the receptionist kim was very friendly and helpful and told us we had been upgraded. The room was very big with a lovely modern bathroom.We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. I had also already booked another stay in another hotel in the same road for June, which turned out to be the part of the same hotel and where we stayed. They aso own the pub opposite which had been redecorated recently and the staff there were very friendly too. would highly recommend this hotel and it's only a 10 minute walk from the theatre which we visited last night and will again in June.

Very clean room, great breakfast!

This boutique hotel locates right in front of the ocean park, 3-4 mins walk to the beach. Actually it's surrounded by “Florence Suite, Florence House Boutique, Somerset House Boutique hotels”, they are managed by the same group.
I enjoyed the service, cleanness and the super breakfast of the hotel, but the amenities still needed improvement. Such as bigger washstands, shower available in every room.
In general, a lovely hotel with great service, would come back again.

A gem of a place

We loved the boutique room, recently renovation with lovely furnishings and loads of natural light. Breakfast was very good and despite a glitch with our online booking they worked with us to make our stay smooth. In a neighborhood a ten min walk from fabulous restaurants and 3 min walk from the sea, it’s a great location too.

Not to stay there again

The Room was a disappointment, it was in the Basement, no view at all. There were no Arm Chairs, which we were looking forward to having, its nice to have e a cuppa, but not sitting on the Bed. It was simply NOT the lovely large Executive Room as in the picture, it was two thirds of that size. The Staff were not exactly friendly, (apart from one person) with the Lady who showed us to the Room not in the best mood, she stressed \"its underground\" we realised that was the Room. We were told when booking this was the last room they had. The Hotel was immaculately clean with tasteful decor, very nice. The Bed was like being on a boat. Having Breakfast, we had to ask for Sugar, Milk, Sauce, Toast (Toast, that's the first item you expect with a full English Breakfast. There was a Lounge and Cinema Room not open to us, it was odd to be banished to our Room. The Building we stayed in was not in the main Hotel, not a good feeling. It was not a warm stay, the atmosphere was not the lovely warmth of feeling one would want.

Statton Hotel - Great Place to Stay

Stattons is a great hotel, good location, great staff and very helpful / knowledgeable about the area.
Comfortable and quiet - 2 minutes walk from Southsea beach and 5 minutes walk ( with long legs ) from main shopping and dining area..

Breakfast was great - a lot of choice, well presented and very good quality.

Definitely recommend the hotel.

Not part of hotel but within the group - the Gastro Pub ( Florence Arms ) was disappointing - chicken and tarragon pie, lots of vegetables then smothered in dark brown gravy which clashed with the sauce in the pie.

This was my third visit to Stattons and its whole demeanour suits me and the business trips I am undertaking. A plus is the closeness to The Florence Arms gastro Pub that is also part of the same Mercer Group but is renowned in Southsea for good quality service, food and atmosphere. For me it is the complete package with an individual touch. Breakfast also hit the spot being individually cooked and waitress service. Highly recommended.

Check in was smooth and the young lady was very helpful with suggestions for things to do and eating places nearby. There is a pub that is owned by the same group that owns this hotel and some others, we ate there one night and the food was great. The hotel is in a great location close to the sea, very nice place to stay.

The room was clean and nicely decorated. The person at the desk was welcoming, helpful and seemed interested in me and my time during the stay there. The downside to this hotel is the rooms are upstairs and there isn’t an elevator. Even tho they helped carry my luggage to my room on the third floor, I still had to walk them up and down throughout my stay. Even the entrance has stairs just to get to the front door! Not good for disabled people.

Lovely hotel!

I loved staying at this hotel. A friend was having a hen-do nearby and I needed a place to stay. This hotel was felt safe which was a big factor as I was staying alone. The room was clean and had everything I needed for my short stay. The service was great- very friendly staff who were eager to help and ensure I enjoyed my stay. The location is amazing! Was a ten minute walk to the clubs and restaurants and a five minute walk to the beach. Would love to stay here again.

Our stay at Stattons was great. The room was lovely. Very clean and nicely decorated, with plenty of space. The bathroom was on the small side but it didn’t bother me or my partner, it had what we needed.
The staff were very attentive and accommodating letting us leave our bags and car on arrival, before check-in so we could make the most of the day and after check-out for the same reason.
There is a private car park around the back which is what initially drew us to the hotel.
I highly recommend adding the breakfast, it was delicious and a great price.
It’s about a 40 minute walk to the Naval Dockyard but it’s a nice stroll along the seafront for the best part, we got an Uber back one evening which cost £4.60 so only a little more that the bus.
Portsmouth is lovely and we will definitely stay at Stattons again or try another of the Mercer Collection Hotels.

Firstly our room was probably the worst in the hotel, as it was the only one on the ground floor, and the door opened into the reception and breakfast room. You could hear the receptionist's conversations and people having breakfast in the morning. The room was half the size of the rooms in the pictures and the bathroom was smaller than a cupboard. The staff were very pleasant and nice, but anyone booking this hotel, I suggest you put in your requests NOT ROOM NINE. The upstairs rooms would be so much nicer.

The Hotel was very pleasing, with very helpful staff. We had a room on the top floor and it was very clean and tidy, the receptionist was very helpful in giving us directions to our venue and she informed us on places to eat for our evening meal. 12 rooms and 12 parking spaces! Close to seafront and all Southsea amenities. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast menu excellent with good choice of cooked dishes. No restaurant for evening meals but gastro pub owned by hotel group a few yards’ walk away. Would definitely stay here again.
