I had a bizarre experience in which the TV turned itself on every hour through the night. So I hardly got any sleep.

The booking was done via Hotels.com and after several requests the hotel refused to refund the last night that I did not spend in the hotel. Clients should not be responsible for the eventual frictions between the hotel and Hotel.com or Expedia.com

Receptionists friendly as always. Breakfast by far not worth it. All items look like they are there since hours and all but fresh. I just took a tea and avoided things like grey ham/sausage and dry aged cheese.
Unfortunately, at all my last stays I had several hairs in the bed and bathroom.

Review the basics of customer service

The stay was absolutely fine. We had a couple of requests, and the staff members kindly helped us to find solutions.I have a couple tips to help you improve your customer service:

Tip 1:
Smile! Especially at the reception. Smile at your guests when they arrive, ask friendly questions like \"how was your trip?\" Smile at your guests when they approach the reception to ask questions. A warm, genuine smile will leave a lasting impression and create a more pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. (To be honest, I shouldn't have to say this... it's the basics of Hotel Management).

Tip 2:
Be aware of your surroundings (especially at breakfast). Acknowledge the presence of the guests! Welcome them, say good morning, smile, get out of the way (if you are blocking the guests path), and maybe even say something funny or friendly! Nobody said anything to me when I arrived at breakfast. This was unprofessional.

Tip 3:
This is more of a personal one, but stop clearing the plates so quickly at breakfast! One of my plates had perfectly good butter on it that I still wanted to use, but the staff member cleared everything too frequently, suddenly and without warning. A bit of communication and awareness would go a long way!

These are nice gestures that you get in 5 star hotels in Germany, but around the world, it's actually quite normal! Some basic customer service skills will do wonders for your business (and reputation). After all, you want to make a profit, right? ;-)

Good, but a lot room for improvement.

I have been satisfied in the past. There are some issues I did not like:
- On Sat. (!), at around 10:30 pm, it was not possible to get a drink at the bar.
- There were sometimes not all the required towels in the room.
- There were no tissues in the room.
- I was not possible to leave stamped letters to be mailed at the reception desk before departure, a service that every hotel should provide.
- One bottle of water as a courtesy when you are staying five days is not much of a courtesy.
- Service personnel should not always knock and disturb to ask whether everything is fine.
- Faucets in almost all rooms I ever stayed in were leaking.
- Many sinks do not drain appropriately.
- When taking showers, too much water enters the bathroom.
- Some information about restaurants should be provided.

What I still love to stay:
- Closeness to train station.
- Nice receptionists.
- Public transportation is free.
- Easy to leave luggage after departure in storage room.

It's handy being really close to the railway station, but I was not only disappointed that the airconditioning wasn't working, but was surprised that they weren't able to get it fixed in time. Fortunately it started to cool down after a couple of days.

We asked if the bar could be opened as the dispenser was out of order.The person managing the reception was completely dismissive unhelpful and told us to go elsewhere if we needed refreshments our host has taken this advice and has now booked future rooms in a different hotel.

Lage und Freundlichkeit top

Mein zweiter Besuch in diesem Haus verlief problrmlos und routiniert. Etwas verwirrend, dass man klingeln musste. Check-In nach sehr kurzer Wartezeit freundlich und schnell.
Das Zimmer zur \"ruhigen\" Seite wie gebucht war sauber und, bis auf etwas bei diesen Scheiben zeischen Bad und Zimmer bauartbedingten Schimmel in der Dusche gepflegt. Die Verdunkelung ist ausbaufähig, oben und unten am Vorhang fehlt ein Stück. Der nächtliche Lärm von draußen und vom Flur würde mich dazu veranlassen, mir den Aufpreis für die ruhige Seite nächstes Mal zu sparen. Dafür sehr gutes Bett, bequem, breit und angenehmes Kopfkissen. Die Klimaanlage schaffte leichte Abkühlung ohne großen Lärm.
Der Check-Out war reibungslos und schnell.
Empfehlenswert macht das Hotel die perfekte Lage zum Duisburger Bahnhof samt schneller Anbindung zum Düsseldorfer Flughafen. Engagierte und freundliche Mitarbeiter.

Fräscht och prisvärt hotell, men med seg wifi

Trevligt hotell med mycket bra läge vid Centralstationen. Hotellet är fräscht och modernt. Kul med en automat där man kan köpa öl. Negativt var att de slöat ner wifi på hotellet. Den var mycket bättre före pandemin. Vi lever i 2021. En snabb uppkoppling är jätteviktigt.

Vad som drar ner lite är att de inte kan avskärma duschen, så att inte vatten rinner ut på badrumsgolvet och ut i entren till rummet. Men å andra sidan är detta inte det enda hotellet som gjort liknande lösning.

The drain from open plan shower was blocked in my room, leading to water flooding through the washroom into the main bedroom. Hotel staff quickly reallocated me to another room which was fine. Some of the corridor areas are starting to look a little careworn but otherwise it is a good hotel and breakfast was superb.

I prefer the intercity hotels in Germany due to location and the fact they give you a travel pass, which is useful. Unfortunately it stops there, as the rest was pretty much standard. For what i paid i would have expected more amenities in the room, considering that i had paid for a Superior room. The positive was that as its a new hotel, it was clean.

left for the day and came late at night and room was not made, garbage, no toilet paper, old towel, went to complain at desk and he offered me another room, had to change room late at night....
In America I would of been offered something extra for the inconvenience....
Also at arrival I had only 1 pillow, blanket 1 towel for me and my wife, ask them to send a pillow, blanket and towel to the room, left to visit my son came back at night still only 1 towel, blanket and pillow... I guess the cleaning staff has to be adress

The hotel room was nice, clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit soft or worn out for my taste but it didn’t ruin my sleep.
The receptionist was irritated when I wanted to pay cash that was not a good start to feel that you are not welcome form the beginning. This is not the professionalism I normally know from Germany.
Despite the grumpy receptionist the stay was fine but not a top score.

Comfortable new hotel in Duisburg. It’s next to a freeway so you can’t leave your window open at night. See through window for the bathroom was unexpected and not able to fully cover with a curtain if you’re staying with other family members. Otherwise clean, relatively new and in 1m walking distance to the station. Convenient and good value with a homely atmosphere downstairs and well laid out entrance with comfortable couches and lovely little touches. Will visit again

Great A/C in extreme heat, extremely comfortable bed, very nice towels, pleasant staff and overall a solid 4 star stay. The transport ticket is excellent and saved us around 40 euros as we travelled 90 minutes from Duisburg to Emmerich and didn't expect the tickets would cover the whole of the VRR network. Very very welcome. Downsides there was no tea/coffee in the room, you could get this at the bar but its not as convenient, and the worst aspect, a modern shower, designed with no containment tray, fine if all is well, but ours was blocked and at 1am I was mopping up flooding into our room. The next morning I had to remove the drain panel and shower trap to prevent repeat flooding.

Brilliant right beside train station. All hotel guests got free transport- trains, buses, underground with a special pass. Front desk staff very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you helped us with travel arrangements every day with great clarity. Super hotel we totally landed on our feet with this one for what we needed - staying to watch a hockey tournament

This hotel is very close to the Hbf, and major roads but the sound proofing is perfect - no noise whatsoever. We stayed in sub-zero temperatures and the room was toasty. Room and bathroom were spotless. Bed very comfy. Wifi reliable. The free travel ticket provided is great.

Great hotel. Room definately ticks a lot of my boxes. Clean and very functional. Beds are a good quality. Power sockets in all the right places with USB ports too. Breakfast was great. Lots of tasty stuff, amazing selection of teas and breads are great. Very secure. Can only go to a floor by scanning your card. Always welcoming. Only negative is odd number rooms have a noisy motorway which can disturb the sleep. Location great just opposite the train station and tram station. If commuting to Düsseldorf it’s very quick on the train.

Very friendly staff who let me check in early. Great location right by the station. Rooms very clean and free bottle of water thrown in plus use of a fridge as well.

Nice bonus with TV Channels was all the SKY Sports channels are available meaning I could watch live Bundesliga game. Very rare for a German hotel to have this option.

Great central location next to hauptbanhof so easy to get around from here. Staff at front desk are not always there, especially in the pm and so you can be standing at the front desk waiting for someone to attend. Breakfast tables are not always cleaned in a timely manner and when it is busy you may have to move someone elses dishes to get a spot. Staff are friendly and helpful but not as attentive as they should be.
