Central Hotel next to main Train Station

No frills hotel located 50m from the main train station in Duisburg. Has parking at 10 euros per night. Room fairly basic, but clean. Has a good sized TV with a good selection of channels. Room was clean and the shower was excellent.

Superbly located hotel

This hotel is superbly located right next to the main train station in Duisburg (25m walk next to McDonalds). The rooms are clean, functional and my shower was excellent. Despite its location, the hotel was really quiet, with excellent double glazed windows. Has a car park as well at 10 euros per night. City centre within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. Overall, a great hotel that I would happily stay at again.

No triple rooms?

We specifically booked this hotel as the triple rooms are sold as having 3 single beds.

What we got was a standard double room with a single mattress just squeezed into the gap at between the bed and window.

Very unhelpful when the issue was raised and they said they didn’t have any such rooms although they really couldn’t be bothered to speak to us.

Don’t be fooled by the pictures.

Hotel is adequate if all you want is a bed for the night. Room is incredibly basic, no tea making facilities. We also had a faulty bathroom light which flashed so much it was unusable and a medical concern for somebody that suffers with epilepsy. We did raise the issue with reception staff, but nothing was done about it.

No aircon, tiny window that barely opens so rooms are incredibly hot too.

The Property has exchanged hands and seems they have lost customer friendly people. Except a lady at desk sometimes, all seems to be rude, arrogant and confused. My probably 5th stay in this property and not sure if this is the last one.

The room was not cleaned at all asked daily for it to be done was ignores no clean towels were given we had to keep asking for a towel , breakfast was awful , the hotel is used as a brothel day and night , sex workers and men in and out all the time reception giving them there keys and condoms , reception staff were so rude the assistant manager blonde lady was so rude there was a young man on at night who was polite the only one ,but he was kept busy by the sec workers in and out so service was not great the whole stay was awful I’m totally gutted this trip was ruined

Wanted a hotel in the vicinity having attended the football at night. Perfectly fine, modern interior more than enough room in bedroom and bathroom. Literally a 30 metre walk from the HBF doors. Plenty of choice at breakfast including scrambled and hard boiled eggs with bacon. Speedy check in, and would use again if ever required

Service is inconsistent among staffs

When I checked in I found that my room was at 5/F while the highesst floor the lift can access is 4/F, I have to walk up one floor with my baggage which was very hard. The reception staff helped me to carry the bag from 4/F to 5/F when I told him my arm is injured. The night before I checked out, I requested the receptionist for assistance on the next morning, he told me he will help to carry my bag. Unfortunately, the staff did not show up and no one answer my call at reception, I need to carry my bag down for one floor which hurt my arm again.

This is not a hotel for a two week vacation. If you just want to spend the night close to the train station because you came in on a train and want to go out on a train, it is sufficient. The hotel is clean and quiet. It is close to the downtown area with plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities.

flexibility, that's all you need

I arrived in early morning and was offered to leave the bags with the reception at no extra cost. However, I was asked to check in in early afternoon. Then, I asked whether it's possible to get a room earlier because I really felt like having a shower after 12 hours of flight plus local transportation.Maybe it's the case for certain hotel chains, but can't you be more flexible if your rooms are available anyway? I am an accor card member and it didn't help....

Typical ibis... Functional good night sleep

I'm a big fan of ibis, I travel a lot, and I'm always happy to find a clean room,
One that's the same wherever you are in the world!

Staff friendly, room typical ibis, couple English channels!

Tip, don't pay for wifi .... The free wifi streams YouTube anyway!

Didn't try breakfast so can't really comment!

Location is connected to the train station, and shops are all over the plane however at night the train station gets a bit surrounded by drunks as with most cities! I'm 26 didn't bother me too much, but after 10 maybe stay in!

But yep fine for me!

The hotel was situated next to Duisburg railway station which made it very convenient. The room was not large but it was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. There was no fridge and no tea and coffee making facilities.

easy access location

Its an easy location with minimal comfort but its all you need if only staying for a brief while. The beds are a bit to hard but at least you have the second option of pillow choice which many hotels in Germany don't have. Its a safe area even if at the main station.

Standard Ibis. Close to the station which is easy for Dusseldorf airport.
Limited parking but I did get a splitter van parked eventually in the hotel spaces or else plenty of street parking. There's a good bit of noise from the train station all night unfortunately.

Ich hatte schon Mal in dem Hotel übernachtet, was eigentlich ganz OK war, doch dieses Mal hat es nicht gepasst: Das Zimmer war nur halb gereinigt (Bad war gebraucht und schmutzig, das Zimmer war nicht gesaugt, der Tisch nicht gewischt, jedoch die Betten frisch bezogen und die Handtücher ausgetauscht) und die Heizung war kaputt, was bedeutet hat, dass es wirklich sehr kalt war und ich eine leichte Erkältung mitgenommen habe.

Meine Beschwerden bei der Rezeption wurden halbherzig entgegen genommen (nach dem zweiten Mal Beschwerde, musste ich mir anhören, dass der Kollege an der Rezeption selbst Probleme hat und meine nicht noch on Top braucht!)

Ich werde jetzt nochmal an das Hotel selbst herantreten, um eine Entschuldigung resp. einen Ausgleich für die Angelegenheit zu erhalten.

Die Sauberkeit insgesamt war in Ordnung, man hat aber gemerkt, dass das Hotel insgesamt in die Jahre gekommen ist und eine Renovierung benötigt. 3 von 4 Steckdosen im Zimmer funktionieren nicht, der Türknauf zum Bad ist abgefallen, der Duschkopf müsste auch mal getauscht werden. Das Hotelzimmer ist leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen und müsste renoviert werden. Einrichtung ist teilweise beschädigt. Nachts roch es leider nach Zigarettenrauch, was komischerweise am Nachmittag noch nicht der Fall war. Vorsicht wer hier empfindlich ist. Aber für den günstigen Preis und eine Nacht war es trotzdem voll okay.

The location is very central. But coming along with this fact you have a lot individuals around that make you feel unsafe. The main hotel entrance is not secured. I have seen at least one homeless going in and out. Hangin' around in the backyard. The room was clean, in parts (bathroom shower) heavily worn but not disgusting. Staff was quite differing. In general, customer oriented, but expect no surplus.

Wir haben in dem hotel 2 nächte in einem 3 bett zimmer geschlafen. Es gibt keinen schrank für die klamotten, auch ist das ganze zimmer sehr klein, daher kaum bewegungsmöglichkeiten. Fenster sind gut isoliert, sodass man den lärm draußen nicht mitbekommt. Sanitäranlagen nicht sauber. Türen müssen zugeknallt werden, damit die zugehen. Auch roch unser zimmer nach zigaretten, trotz nichtraucherzimmer. Fazit: preis/leistung ok, aber mehr wie 2 nächte würde ich in dem hotel nicht bleiben

Leider ist ein falsches Bild vom Hotel im Netzt. Das bild ist vom neuen Hotel B&B Duisburg Nord!!!!!!
das ist eigentlich Betrug! Ich kenne das neue Hotel und habe es gebucht und stand dann vor dem Im Bahnhof, was nicht so angenehm ist. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist extrem Freundlich!
Das Zimmer wurde alle 5 Tage nicht gereinigt! Das finde ich sehr frech.
