Outstanding breakfast! So much choice and attention to detail: including pomegranates, avocado, sweet potatoes, and even an algae salad. The room was clean and comfortable with powerful aircon.

Great hotel doing its job

A 2 night stay in a comfortable and clean hotel is great, the NH Oberhausen ticks all the boxes, good size room, comfortable bed, helpful staff, a good breakfast to choose from in the morning and close to transport, 5 to 10 minute walk depending on your speed from Oberhausen Hbf and tram and bus stop just around the corner. Booked for a reasonable price and provided what was required for my stay.

the receptionist was sullen when checking in. We booked 2 rooms, one of them had a coffee machine and one of them didn't. When we told the reception about this situation, some rooms have it and some don't. It means they don't have standards, but while they're advertising, the coffee machine appears to be in the room, so they're deceiving.

Working in Westfield shopping centre

The staff were really helpful and spoke great English, room was a big size and clean and comfortable. Tram line right out side practically so good likes into the town ( or you can walk took 10mins) and Westfield shopping centre is the 4th stop!.
Great breakfast and every one really helpful.
Would stay again !.

Last minute booking - never again

I booked this hotel at the last minute. On arrival I was given the key to the last room they had.

Despite booking and paying for a double non-smoking room, I was presented with a tired, small, single room that smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke.

The air conditioning didn't seem to work and the electrics in the room celling void made a continuous and loud buzzing sound.

All in all, I probably had one of the worst night's sleep I can remember and left over 350 euros worse off.

Not what i expected for that price

Generally i have a good impression about NH hotels, but this one was a real disappointment. The checkin staff was not particularly friendly and it turned out they gave me wrong information: i asked about the opening times of they gym, they said 8 am to 9 pm. When i told this at check out together with all the other issues, the friendly lady at checkout told me that the gym was open 24/7... but i was leaving by then, so i choose this hotel because it had a gym, but i could not use it. The WiFi at the hotel was broken during my full stay, not compensation offered, even after asking (really for a hotel that claims to have the best conference facilities in town?). The parking needs to be paid every time you go in and out, and they don't accept a credit card, just cash (really ? it's 2022 now) - when i brought this up at checkout, the excuse was that it's not their parking, but at their website, they list they have a parking. The room was kind of OK but shows it's age (chips off on the furniture; stains on the carpet). It was a warm day, and in order to get a decent temperature in the room i needed to put the airco at full speed, which was very noisy. All in all, it was by far not worth the 135 €/night for such a disappointing stay, and above all, despite two hints where i expressed my dissatisfaction, at checkin and at checkout, no efforts made at all to accomodate, not even a sympatic \"we're sorry\".

The NH Oberhausen is a nice hotel with parking garage next door. The room I had was clean except for a very old and a little smelly shower curtain. One of the hand towels was frayed but clean. Nice toiletries and a very spacious room.

good value for money

The Hotel is well located, the staff was friendly and the rooms are well-sized and comfortable. It looks a bit dated, especially the bathrooms but is still well maintained and clean.

Especially if compared to other Hotels in the area, this option is really value for money. I do stay frequently in this area and have tried several other hotels - this one I do recommend and have used multiple times now.

Excellent \"hub\" hotel for Oberhausen

We've been to the NH several times - it's a good hub for us as it's very close to the main train station (about 5 mins walk from trains and bus, and a tram outside the hotel to Centro as well).

We have made a point of getting breakfast as our stays have been busy. Breakfast usually more than satisfying, with very slight variations in menu.

Rooms comfortable, spacious. Most recent stay had our room made up for 1 by mistake but was quickly corrected. Decent internet speeds (when paid for premium).

Overall the hotel was excellent. The room was nice, staff very pleasant and helpful. Good sound proofing and an excellent shower.
However the single bed in my room had a mattress which was far to firm for me. I asked for a extra duvet to help cushion the impact but it never turned up. As a result I got very little sleep

Nice hotel close to the train station. There was a small technical glitch with our room... the door handle was broken so sometimes when we tried to enter the room, it came off completely, and as a result it was hard to open! They did fix this when we pointed this out. Also, the bathroom door is hung at a slight angle, so if it is not latched completely (which takes pretty much force!), it drifts to a totally open position. Never mentioned this!

nH hotels seem pretty good

Great reception. Well organised with iced drinks and nibbles to welcome you. Checkout even better, knew who we were and handed us bottled water for journey. We seemed to be the lucky guests with cakes in the room and free drinks in the bar. Comfy room and bed with plenty of space. Room a little hot and not sure sure air con did much. Handy for station and city. First time I have stayed in a nH hotel but experience positive enough I would seek them out in the future.

Reasonable business hotel, very poor wifi.

This is a nice hotel for business, probably above average for the location. Something of a dodgy location, probably dont want to go walking around the place at 11pm. I had \"high speed\" wifi, however this didn't work in the room, had to sit in the hall and even there it was mostly un-usable.

We stayed 1 night for a music gig at konig-Pilsner arena. Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Importantly for us it is right next to tram line and only 4 stops from Centro shopping centre and the arena.

This was a short weekend trip to attend the Maschinenfest at the Turbinenhalle. NH Hotel was quite a pleasant surprise. Hotel is modern and very well appointed. The staff was helpful and provided great local information on restaurants. The location is great since its near the train station and city center.

Perfect hotel in a central area.

Stayed for a weekend in Onerhausen and also visited Cologne. The hotel was only a ten minute walk from the railway station and convenient for shops. The hotel was excellent, the rooms were perfect, as was the breakfast and all the staff were very friendly, obliging and helpful. Highly recommended and would be first on my list, if visiting the same area in the future.

Not the best NH

I had reserved a big double room for myself, they gave me a single very small one in the smoking floor without preventing me or apologizing. They claimed (after I demanded to get the room I had originally reserved) that I was on my own (so no need for a bigger room) and that they were full. Not really my problem, given the price difference that I was willing to pay in between single and double and the fact that I reserved the room 3 months in advance. I managed to change to something similar to my requests but I didn't like the gesture of trying to give me something less (for the same price as they never offered to reduce it) as if I wasn't going to notice. The hotel is dated and the carpet is really in bad condition, my tv was tiny and the AC wouldn't work well. Bed was very confortable and the location of the hotel is fine, not far from the train station.

The location was ok, the building old and in need of a revamp, the room want very comfortable with terrible pillows, and above all the service was downright rude. I've travelled extensively in Germany and I know the culture is a little blunt but wow this takes the biscuit. Last of all, why advertise hotel parking included when you have just 4 spaces? I'll try Tryp Centro Oberhausen next time...

Minibar!!

On arrival our minibar Was empty which was OK as we were seeing family and friends. On the second day they had filled it. On our departure they presented us a bill of almost the entire content of the bar. I could talk us out of it but to be honest, very poor service. Seems some processes aren't working.

Very Basic and nothing to write home about.

Well, let's start with the positive. Breakfast buffet is OK. While items are not promptly replenished, if you get up early you may get a seat and have some food left.
The hotel is very basic. Bathroom reminds of hospital environment and room reminds of a hostel. Generally clean but expectations around quality could not be met (cheap towels, bedding infrequently changed, old furniture)
no hotel owned car park. Paying €19 for 24 hours is not acceptable is this location. Maybe in Munich, Berlin or Hamburg.
Key card system required urgent uplift. During a multiple night stay I required 16 replacement cards due to them failing. Staff was aware of the issue but no action taken.
Otherwise would not recommend... Just not a very nice place to be for more than one night.

Book somewhere else, why?

The Bad:
We have written a long 1 page full review, but we rather make it short and fast so here it is
Issues with check-in process.
No parking, and if parking you have to pay for it.
No water heater in room for coffee or tea
Air condition in room not working, too cold or too hot, can’t sleep well.
Bed not comfortable, and makes sounds when you turn around.
Worst internet ive had in hotel for 10 years, what a joke, on and of, on and off, then finally paid for premium internet, same S..T, what a joke

The Good:
Staff at hotel are nice, and polite.
Room is clean.
Cleaning staff do a god job making up the room, and give new towels every day.
Breakfast was big, lots of things, tasted okay, but really expensive.
----------
Conclusion:
We would have been way way better of booking 5 star hotel, the price is the same when NH is finished with you, you have paid so much more than just the room price.
breakfast, parking, internet = at least 36 euro more per day.
Go book your self a comfortable 5 start hotel, and have a good relaxing issue free time..
That’s our advise to you all, we will never stay at NH hotels again.

Good hotel, near train station: Never needed taxi!

Good quality hotel. Free wifi (surf, email, upload photos, etc.), although requires you to re-up every 24 hours. Unlimited access, for streaming and more bandwidth intensive surfing requires 10 Euro a day. If you want to be near Centro (big mall) or major rock concert centers (Konig Pilsner Arena, Turbinhalle), about 2 walkable(?) miles away. Staff was great and let you be. Refridgerator/mini-bar has a little space for keeping YOUR drinks/eats cold. Discount food stores about 10 minute walk.

The hotel is modern and kept to a very good/clean standard. The staff all seem to speak perfect English and the girl at the bar was very accommodating. The room was spacious and nice, and the shower was very good (always a plus). My only complaint about the room would be to add more pillows... The surrounding area is not perfect (but was close to the event I was attending) - the sea-life center, Centr0 shopping mall etc are around 40mins walk, but the hotel itself is very close to the train station, with direct trains to Dusseldorf airport. There is a local supermarket 5mins walk away which is very cheap! (Especially for beer!)

The hotel in general was fine. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. I booked a queen sized bed in single room but got a small single bed. Breakfast and internet were very expensive additional costs. Hotel price was good value and the evening meals I had were good quality.
