We booked six nights in February 2026, and after reading some of the negative reviews we were considering cancelling the booking. We are really pleased we didn't cancel. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast didn't have lots of choice, but was adequate. We never found a problem to get seated, and it was a pleasant environment overlooking the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and gave a welcoming greeting to us every morning. The pool was clean, and was never crowded when we stayed. There is a choice of restaurants very close by, where we ate every night before the easy walk into the old town. We stayed at four hotels this visit in Vietnam, two of which were five star hotels, but when looking back over, we enjoyed our stay at the Emotion Villa/ Hoi an, the most favourable.
Would definitely, and seriously thinking of staying next year.

Nice villa and very quiet. Ponds and swimming pools we great. The only complaint is that the AC system in our room was not functioning all the time so we would wake up from the heat a couple times at night. Friends AC in a groud floor room was fine so perhaps it was just our room.

The room is very spacious. The staff was super nice and helpful.
The property is only average. The “ gym” is really just a tiny room with one treadmill, a few weights and no air conditioning. The breakfast is extremely basic with limited options.
The place has a lit of potentials and the most outstanding features are the staff and the location. The pool is nice and the bikes are complimentary

Used the bikes toscoot over to Cua Dae beach several times without incident.

This place was amazing. All members of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of the Old Town. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pool was so nice and relaxing.

Beautiful setting around the hotel grounds. Very spacious room. Location is excellent as directly across from the bridge to the Memories show and numerous restaurants. A nice walk along the river to old town, about 20 minutes.Will stay again next year but for a longer time.

The first room we were in was terrible, dirty and the beds were so worn out they were sagging in the middle. The hotel moved us because we complained. The second room was in a newer building and it was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Beautiful property gardens are really something. Rooms are huge with a nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is great just far enough away from the downtown to be peaceful but close enough to walk there. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great location and easy to walk to the center of the action without staying directly in it. The riverwalk across the street was a peaceful walk to the night market and old town. The pool was a nice place to relax, and the bikes were a bonus to use. Ww would stay here again on our next visit.

Great value for money near old town

Rooms are very clean and lovely. Very comfortable bed, loads of space within the room and a spacious balcony overlooking the pool. The pool area is also beautiful. Staff are very friendly, kind and attentive and free bikes to use (they’re not the best but are free!). The only downside we faced was not being able to contact the property ahead of time (tried messaging a few times via hotels.com and got no reply, also tried calling and couldn’t get through). They’re also doing some renovations which made the pool ahead not very relaxing plus the pool bar was never open which was a shame for us. Would’ve been absolutely fine if we had been given the heads up ahead of time, but once they’re done with it I’m sure it’ll be great! For breakfast they offer a freshly cooked meal to your ordering ahead of time as well which was a nice change to the standard hotel buffet for breakfast. Area was okay, in reflection probably would have stayed closer to old town but was near the canal which was nice for morning coffee runs.

This is a very pretty property.
It was under some construction, so you had to walk around them doing work and stuff.
They had bikes to go around shopping.
The pool is pretty, rooms are large.
Breakfast was boring and not so great. Not enough choices of fruit……..plain bananas, watermelon and dragon fruit. Everywhere else we have been to in Vietnam served those fruits plus pineapple, Langdon, and passion fruit, melons. Baked goods were just generic and not so fresh.

Such a peaceful and beautifully scenic place to stay. The property is lovely even though there was construction out the front. We had booked a room that backed the construction and the manager contacted us before our stay to noyify us of this and welcomed us upon our arrival saying if the noise or room didnt suit then they would happily move us. Which we did choose to move and were put into a beautiful family large suite and were very happy with our stay. The pool was gorgeous and cooling as it had good shade. The breakfast was small however plenty of options! We really enjoyed our stay here and would happily come back

Our three-night stay was fantastic! The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We could use their bicycles to travel around Hoi An for free! The breakfast choices were expansive, with changing options daily and an omelet station. Our room was cleaned daily with new towels and a few water bottles. The room cooled down nicely, even on a 100-degree day. The location is perfect as it is a short walk to the center of town, but also quiet when you want to sit by the pool or go to bed.

This was a great place to stay, and I highly recommend it!

A little out of town. 15-20 mins walk. Large rooms, nice pool. First night was awful as the bed smelled of urine and hot water did not work. We changed rooms. Property is beginning to show its age. We stayed off season so breakfast was very minimal and we needed to order the day before. If during busy season, breakfast would be a buffet.
Right across the road from the memories show. Restaurant across the street was really good and staff very friendly! Free bikes at hotel were nice but need some tlc

Paid $49.50 AUD for 1 night.

The exterior is aesthetic and the staff were nice. It is only a short walk over to the Hoi An Impression theme park. Free breakfast was nice with a small but decent range of variety such as cereal, hot meals, bread, fruit, and they’ll cook eggs according to personal preference.

Most of the villas just have stairs and there was a below average design of the bathroom where the water from the shower just seeps through half the bathroom. Not sure if that’s the same with other rooms.

The room is clean, but the condition of the furnishing is rather old, and the wardrobe has a strong musty smell. There is no door or partition to separate the shower area and dry area, so most of the bathroom floor is wet and quite slippery. Happy with the location, close to ancient town, Impression Theme Park and many nice local food.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hoi An Emotion Villa. The property is well kept with very friendly, helpful staff. My room was huge, and the AC worked well. The king bed was comfy. The pool is a good size with an adequate number of deck chairs around it. There is a good number of families staying here, so expect a handful of young kids in the pool at most times.
The breakfast is good, although a bit limited. Eggs made to order, bread, a selection of hot foods including sausage, bacon, a noodle dish, at least one stir fried dish and watermelon, bananas, and pineapple. The gym was a bit disappointing. It has the necessary equipment for a basic workout. There are no fans, water or towels available in the gym though, which makes it very difficult to use in the heat and humidity of Hoi An.
One thing I thought was great that the cleaning staff would leave a basket with clean towels and additional water if you didn't want your room serviced. I find this very useful as I don't need my room cleaned every day, but I was going through all of my water every day.

Perfect choice in Hoi An

I was delighted with my choice of Emotion Villa. The check-in was very easy and, although I was early they went out of their way to get my room prepared ahead of the check-in time. The room was huge and spotlessly clean. I ate breakfast in the restaurant and, although quite simple, there was plenty of food, especially fresh fruit. The location was also excellent, with the old town in easy walking distance, about 500 metres. There are excellent restaurants opposite the hotel and these have seating along the riverside, great for a relaxing evening meal

Sewer smell in bathroom, it can make you sick

We stayed in the suite room with balcony. The room was nice the first night, it was covered with lemongrass oil when we arrived. The second day I began to understand why it was covered with lemongrass, because the bathroom smells like sewage. I told the reception and they said they will solve the problem by burning more lemongrass oil. I’m so disappointed by their answer and of cuz it didn’t solve the problem, the bathroom smells like a mixture of sewage and lemongrass, worst! I was going to extend my staying but I’m glad I didn’t. The pool is not well maintained, I won’t put my head in the water, the breakfast is hopeless.

Didn’t start well but ended beautifully

I only stayed here for 2 nights. When I checked in I was shortly going to dinner. I noticed my room was not the same room I booked and was missing some things like a bath, a balcony etc which is why I booked this hotel. Before going out to dinner I let reception know and they said they were full so could not move me but could the next day. After spending the next day out sight seeing I came back and asked about the room they promised. They said they had given the room to someone else that afternoon….after asking for a partial refund for not getting what I paid for, there was some backwards and forwards of calling the manager. They then moved me to my actual room and I was much happier and took advantage of the bath and balcony that I booked. The buffet breakfast was great and the facilities were very beautiful, although because I was only staying 2 nights the room trouble put a damper on my stay.

Very nice quiet hotel, walking distance to the central part of Hoi An. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The manager (Son) was very friendly and attentive. When there were bicycles available, he asked if we wanted to use them. We didn't even know they had bicycles for the guest. We had a great stay at this hotel.

Great villa, there's no elevators but that's okay because its only 3 levels. The pool, pool bar and breakfast buffet are amazing. Staff are very fun, pleasing and understanding however the reception is quite difficult to navigate to with big luggage, the entrance is a little awkward. Rooms are big and spacious, the only thing is that the toilet seats are a bit old and stained. We were given an upgrade for this matter.

Messy due to building an aquarium. There were lots of mosquitoes in my room. Very noisy water pump running at 10pm and 6am right by behind my room affected my family's sleeping. Ceiling light couldn't turned off. No water in our rooms happened twice. Breakfast was poor. We was very disappointed. The only good thing is spacious rooms.

The room was beautiful, and the breakfast had lots of options. The hotel is quite a walk from the main attractions, but you can use one of their bikes if you don't want to walk for too long. The only problem we had was with the pool. The water didn't circulate well, so it was warm and dirty in the afternoons.

Lovely little villa but in need of some improvements. The rooms are beautiful and a decent size, however a few things in the room just seemed a bit worn. The safe didn't work in our room for example.
The staff were friendly enough but English was very limited for most.
The breakfast was very disappointing, not much provided and what was there was poor quality.
The pool is beautiful, clean and refreshing but the pool bar was rarely open.
Nice location for the old town, approximately 20 minutes walk into the centre, the Japanese bridge etc.
Directy over the road is a lovely local restaurant, great food and cheap prices!
Would recommend staying here as for the cost it's worth it but just don't expect very high standards.

Best kept secret in Hoi An!!!!

What an amazing stay! If We could rate this higher than a 10 we would.
Very romantic place with beautiful gardens. Food was excellent! There is a happy hour each day with great drinks and food. Breakfasts each morning were great!!!

Disgusting behaviour from the staff. Shameful!

I am absolutely enraged after the service we received at this hotel.

My boyfriend went down to reception one night and came back disappointed in what had occurred to him. Some of the night staff had decided to point fun at him, pointing and laughing at him in Vietnamese, loudly asking him how much he weighed, grabbing his stomach and telling him he was “fat like Buddha”.

These are not the actions of a good hotel staff and our trip was soured by these comments. How very dare they?!

I am furious. This definitely overshadowed the fact that our room was nice and clean and the bed comfortable.

Just outside of Old Quarter with a great pool

Great pool, big rooms and the grounds are full of beautiful plants. We walked into Old Town at least once a day and it took about 15 mins either right down the street the hotel is on or cutting over to the river across the street. Very easy to get around, traffic is very manageable after Hanoi. We took bikes out several times-went to the Bahn Mi Queen in 20 mins, made it to An Bang beach in about 20-25 mins, checked out the nearby rice paddies and it all felt pretty easy. Great cafe about 10 mins up the road, Mia Cafe. I would definitely stay here again. Front desk staff was great, Hoa at the pool bar was very friendly and and helpful. Sometimes hard to find help at the restaurant outside of breakfast and breakfast was really hit and miss. Not a big worry since there are a lot of options nearby. Also tried Brothers Cafe up the road twice and it was great both times.

Fantastic hotel and great value for money with excellent service. It's about a 10min walk to the old city in ha noi so it's not too far away and not too close to the busy area. Great pool and view from the rooms.
The breakfast was ok, not amazing but for Vietnam standards was good. There's an excellent restaurant directly opposite the hotel, they were so lovely and friendly and the food was really good.

The staff arranged taxis for us and day trips.
This hotel may seem a little away from the centre but it’s not far until you are in the shops etc. Might just look further than it is.

This was a fantastic place to stay. The area is quiet, but you are very close to the main area of the city. We enjoyed riding the complimentary bikes to and from places. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and clean. We do wish we had a ceiling fan in our room since we noticed other rooms had one. Otherwise we loved our stay!

Wow wow wow!! This place is amazing value for money - the rooms are HUGE! It is a little bit out of town but easy to get to on a bike or scooter. The bikes are free and the scooters are about AU$4 a day to hire so very affordable. The staff helped us arrange the tours we wanted to go on, and ensured we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again - in fact I wish we stayed longer as our beach hotel is nowhere near as good value for money! Thanks Emotion Villa!

My partner and I had a great stay. Staff were nice, friendly and helpful. We stayed in the suite which was nice, big and spacious. We had friends who stayed in the standard room and you can't go wrong with either. The hotel has free bicycle rentals or you can hire a motorbike for less than $10aud for the whole day (though you have to fuel up the bike). They organised a car to pick up and drop us off at the airport. Showers were a bit weak for my liking, great wifi, never got the chance to use the gym facilities so not sure how good it was. Would stay here again and recommend others.

Room is big n clean. Only shower area is not enclosed, so the floor is very wet after shower. WC flushing get choked on our last day. It will be great if hotel provides free shuttle service to and fro from town centre.

Two weeks great stay

When we booked this place we had reservations because of very good price. However on arrival we realised that what we were paying much less than what the current price is. We had a great stay there. We got to know many of the staff quite well. The owner is hands on with the garden all day but no involvement with the running. The only negative we have is that a couple of the young male staff on reception have limited English. Some staff and the owner tended to talk rather loudly outside our villa very early in the morning. The new fishpond outside our door tended to be a bit noisy. But if we come back again this property would be the first one that I consider.

Best Possible Experience

From the moment we came in, Emotion Villa made us feel welcome! They had decorated the room with beautiful flowers to help celebrate our anniversary, they had helped us when we forgot our converting plugs, and to arrange a car pick up to and from the airport. They made it easy to constantly rent their free bikes on the premises (which is a great way to get around Hoi An!!), they helped us print our documents for our upcoming flights (free of charge), and were overall just warm and happy staff to be around - especially Helen who seemed to always be around to help us when the toilet clogged, or when we needed some extra towels. The only few small negative things I could say was the buffet didn't have a ton of selection (although they know how to make a mean omlette!), the pool wasn't heated (which would have been nice in the off season, but also completely understandable), and we found it a little strange that every time the cleaners were done with our room, the sliding door to the outside was suddenly left unlocked (we noticed this all 3 times after we had our room cleaned). Other than those minor things, I would definitely say this is an amazing hotel, very conveniently located, and a few minutes away from the bustling noise of the market so you can get a good nights rest. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially couples, and I know if I come back to Hoi An, this is where I'd stay! Thank you for everything!!

Excellent experiences!

We liked Hoi An Emotion Villa very much! Hotel staff were courtious and ver friendly. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. Were anle to use the bikes from the hotel, which was hand to go to the old town. Our overall experiences were excellent and would defintely stay if coming back.

Quiet and very nice place

We reached late on Saturday night, not only were the staff prompt in checking us in one of them ran across the road to ask another restaurant to stay open so we could eat. It was 11:30 and most things in old town shut by 10.

The rooms are very spacious and the location is good. 15-18min walk to old town and 5 min by cycle. We borrowed the bicycle from the hotel which were in very good condition.

Overall great place and we'll come back.

Excellent Boutique Hotel

The hotel facilities are fantastic. The rooms are spacious with a 'huge' comfy bed. The staff are amazing, always smiling and willing to assist. Especially Cam the young girl on the front desk, she is just gorgeous :) The only negative I would mention is that the pool is like a warm bath and not refreshing. Maybe they need to separate the shallow ends from the larger pool so that the warm water doesn't flow into it, or they could replace the dark grey tiles (as they attract the suns heat) to light blue ones.
Emotion Villas is situated close to Old Town, only a 10 minute walk or a couple of minutes bicycle ride. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in Hoi An.

Excellent Small Boutique Hotel

Loved our stay at the Emotion Villas. The rooms were clean and spacious (the bed was huge). We were situated on the bottom floor close to the pool and restaurant which was an added bonus. The breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. The staff are 'EXCELLENT', so friendly and always willing to assist. The young girl on the front desk named Cam, was absolutely beautiful. Always willing to assist and always smiling. Loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hoi An. The only suggestion I would make is regarding the pool as it was like a warm bath and not refreshing. The design of the pool could be modified to rectify this problem. Maybe have the shallow end for the children to be separated from the main pool area, so the warm water doesn't flow into the deeper end. Also the tile colour to be changed to blue and not dark grey as this won't attract the heat from the sun as much. Other than the pool temperature it was an absolute pleasure to stay here.

Die Zimmer waren sauber, das Gelände gepflegt und die Lage ist einfach klasse.
Aber der Transfer vom Flughafen zum Hotel hat nicht funktioniert, die Poolbar ist zwar schön, aber nie besetzt und das Frühstück ist durch Auswahl und nur 2 Stunden Dauer sehr reduziert, wodurch es mit Tischen knapp werden kann.

Klein paradijsje in Hoi An. Perfecte ligging, mooie tuin met verzorgd zwembad. We zijn.op doorreis in Vietnam en vonden de vriendlijkheid en bereikbaarheid van het personeel ondermaats. Heel jammer want het is voor de rest een zeer fijne plek om te verblijven.
