I think this resort is a bit overrated. It was obviously nice, it's a 5-star Hilton. But things were ridiculously overpriced. One mojito costs around €15!

The breakfast was really amazing, so we thought we would try the buffet dinner, but it was pretty terrible, so would not recommend.

Finally, oddly our room had loads of flies. It was reallt really strange. At one point i was lookong around the bathroom and spotted 27 little flies! It wasn't terrible and they were more like little moths, not sure exactly, but anyway it was strange.

So overall for the prive you're paying (minimum €375/night I think), it's not really worth it.

Hilton Cabo Verde is an excellent location for families. We enjoyed 7 nights here and had a great time especially the access to a quiet, clean, and beach with turquoise water. There was even a centre for scuba diving activities. We also managed to use the spa and get some great massages esp as we got the July discount. Rooms are spacious and well kept.

Fantastic Resort On the Beach

We did a 4 night stay on Sal Island and decided to splurge on a hotel. Yes, it was expensive but it really was fantastic. The on property pool is beautiful and has a restaurant right there serving good pizza and other food. There is also another restaurant a short walk away on the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. The breakfast was fantastic and the room was big enough for a family of 3. We had a great time here. It is always at a quiet end of the beach so you are away from all of the sellers but only a short 5-10 minute walk from the busy part of town. There is also a medical facility across the street with English speakers which was great since our daughter got sick while staying there. Great hotel!

when I arrived there was no welcome. no one takes your bags, they don't give you information, they are very very disorganized, the restaurants in the structure are a disaster, the staff doesn't pay attention to anything. you wait for everything for a very long time. I left the structure and the island two days before and I was very pissed off. it's expensive and I don't recommend it to anyone

This is not a 5 star. It’s a 4 star at best on a good day. The food is mediocre. It only has 1 buffet restaurant (I got sick one night after eating there and I never get sick). The other restaurant the Bounty has better food than the buffet, however it doesn’t matter what you order it all pretty much taste the same and plated with the same garnish. The grilled food is loaded with butter from a tin that is used for seafood, meats and crustaceans. If you have a food allergy …. I wouldn’t eat there. I expect the same goes for the buffet

The 5 star service a 5 star traveler expect is non existent. The property is only 7 years old and it looks like it’s about 20 years old. You will receive nothing that makes you believe you are at a 5 star property. You will not have robes and slippers in your room. Your minibar will have 2 bottles of water. You will receive no welcome gifts or even a bellboy to offer to bring your luggage to your room. Or an offer to bring your luggage from the room. After spending 1 night in an unconditioned room, I expected some sort of complimentary item from the hotel. I don’t even think that crossed their minds.

You are probably better off going with a 3 or 4 star compared for the price. It’s absolutely not worth the stay.

Wanted a comfortable clean modern hotel within walking distance of the town and right next to the beach - that’s exactly what we got!
Great location, perfect for those who don’t want one of the all-inclusive hotels and want the buzz of Santa Maria close by - a 15 min stroll along the beach path, no need for a taxi.
Great facilities, great pool, and an ideal spot on the beach. On top of that, one of its greatest assets is the bounty beach bar/restaurant in front on the beach itself.
Room + bathroom was clean, spacious and tidied every day, bed was comfortable and our courtyard facing room was peaceful quiet all night.
Breakfast buffet had great choice. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

Tout s'est tellement bien passé pour nous, en famille avec 2 enfants vue en front de mer, le matin avec un bon café au balcon avec une superbe vue face a la mer.
Aussi je voudrais donner une mention spéciale a tout le personnel de l'hôtel HILTON de SAL . Ils ont tous étaient au petit soin avec nous.

Staff were professional and extremely helpful. Both at reception and the restaurants. The cleaners unfortunately spoke Portuguese, so put my requests in at the front desk. Excellent choice at breakfast. Buffet in the evenings also had a great choice. As soon as food ran out, it was quickly replaced, both breakfast and dinner. On 2 occasions, the lifts stopped working, but was quickly fixed. Great location, 3 mins to the beach and 15 mins walk into town. Decaf coffee in rooms, but ask and regular coffee is provided. Lovely hotel, slept very well. Had a really relaxing holiday. Would stay again at the Hilton.

Hotel,very clean,great gardens,fabulous large room,comfortable bed,great bathroom, but the air conditioning turns off every time you open (not leave it open)just open the balcony door,so if you sit on balcony when you return to the room area it’s hot!!I understand the air conditioning going off it the door left open for a period of time,but not instantly!
Also we missed dressing gowns and slippers I think for priced we paid they should be included!we realised on last they where available at request,maybe the hotel should offer ?maybe a note in the room?
Also balcony was very small versus the size of room and our view was mainly trees and a peek of sea view..and the bar was under our balcony which made it not that private and a bit noisy.
Reception staff very good,breakfast was amazing,lovely staff at breakfast,great coffee ,everything you could ever what available for breakfast.
The staff at pool good,but think sunbed service would add to experience and surely you would increase sales?
The staff at bounty bar during the day I found them uninterested and had a long wait,each time we went there,I think this area could do with a tidy up and maybe some new furniture on the beach..
In the evening we visited twice,the service was great,but both times I had to return my food Luke warm,bland very disappointing.

The pool.sunbed,towels,beach area, all really good,though some of the wooden items around umbrella are looking untidy.
Overall would revisit and recommend hotel.

Amazing stay because of amazing staff!

This was an amazing stay! I would recommend this hotel without reservation! This is largely because of the amazing staff, from the front desk staff, the spa staff (I had an awesome massage and body treatment), to the waitstaff and the xleaning staff! I truly hope the hotel takes care of its employees, because they deserve it! The staff took care of every need with a smile, which is not easy given the difficult jobs they hold!

- Comically awful receptionists. The guys at the front desk should honestly not be working in a customer facing position.
- Do not get the room with “sea view” - trust me, there is no sea view.
- Overcharging and “mistakes” by staff.
- Fire alarm going off randomly at night with no apology or explanation offered.
- Annoying “credit” system for opening a tab and charging on the room

Massively overpriced for what you get. Regret staying here.

Perfect location on the outskirts of Santa Maria. Excellent wifi. Very good buffet food. Towels included. Beautiful gardens to sunbathe/lounge in. Pool is not heated so chilly on cloudy days. Beds were comfortable but slightly too soft for me. Large spacious kingsize room. Twin room was smaller and the \"ocean view\" was not great as the balcony overlooked the vacant plot next door awaiting the casino to be built. Staff were very good but we had a few minor misunderstandings due to language barrier. 70 euros for private taxi return to airport was too much for a ride in a shabby bald-tyred minibus with a cracked windscreen, broken door handle and no seatbelts. There are plenty of official taxis cheaper.

We have stayed at a few hotels in Cape Verde and this is our favourite by far, amazing food, lovely rooms, very comfortable beds, nice pool ( not hot but refreshing!) Nice beach bar and on a stunning part of the beach. They do the best milk shakes at the pool bar! We really enjoyed our stay here although it was only 3 nights as we were moving around the islands. It could do with a table tennis table.

We didn’t like the 6hr wait to get in our room even though I requested an early check-in since our flight was supposed to arrive at 5:30 am.

After 10AM is almost impossible to get a place at the beach or pool. The chairs often are reserved by guests which are not using it.
The hotel’s management takes no action to avoid it!!

Guest need to discuss with each other to get a place.

having stayed there twice over the course of two weeks I was happy returning with the feeling of coming \"home\". There is room for complains but anyone who has visit SAL or Cape Verde knows how rare it is to find a service Hilton offers on the Island. The nearby beach can only be matched with the once of Miami Beach, Anguilla or St Bart's. Food is also great with very reasonable prices. the kids club offers relief (travelled with kids) and the jazzbar offers cool evening groove. I could be petty by complaining on the singing breakfast servant 6.30 in the morning, but instead enjoyed the moment with a smile with the memory of my French drunk neighbours who woke me up 2am. Or the patronizing kitchen chef asking me if I see any banana tree when my 4 year old wanted banana. (PS, bananas are the only export good from SAL island). The management who worked there tried, but the language barrier with some of the lower end workforce could be improved. (Pretty scary when security doesn't understand English). I don't know when or if I will return to SAL, but when I do, there is only one place that feels like coming 'home'. until next time, Hilton...

Excellent facilities and really new hotel. Great beach access and good breakfast. 10-15 mins walk to St. Maria center. The service however should be greatly improved. Given the price per night and the 5 star status, the service is not up to the level. We flagged some issues to the manager for which they apologized for and tried to make amends however the overall service is just not welcoming/accommodating. The staff goes around seeming like they dont know what to do or they don’t know what we’re asking from...

Its the most relaxing holiday i have ever had, people and staff are extremely helpful, service food and drnks delicious and well presented, the Hilton was always well maintain and cleaned constantly. Views breath taking. I cant fault this hotel at all, if you can afford it, i strongly recommend this hotel if your looking to just relax and unwind.... The saying in Cape Verde is 'NO STRESS' that sums it up and the Hilton Cabo reflects that saying perfectly.

Hotel was great but think the staff need a little more training to make it truly 5*. They were very pleasant but the service could be a bit better when looking if customers needed anything. I know they’re very friendly people in Cape Verde but more time should be spent on the customer’s needs and less on talking amongst themselves. Overall a very pleasant experience. The food was decent (especially Bounty Bar) and the swimming pool area was great.

A spectacular holiday destination!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The hotel is beautiful, food is fantastic and customer service is phenomenal. Special thanks goes out to the pool bar team - Jaime and his team were great ensuring that all guests were looked after very well. The Bounty restaurant and the buffet restaurant are very good, and there are also numerous restaurants in Santa Maria - which is a 10 min walk. We had a beach front suite which was very large, spacious and very well equipped - was great to come back to and soak in the large tub after a day on the beach! All in all, we loved this hotel and are already making plans to visit again!

Great Hotel.....But..........

The hotel facilities and finishes in this new hotel are to a very high standard as you would expect at a Hilton. However the staff and catering facilities are definitely not what you would expect in a five star establishment.
Quality of food was average at best and buffet food not kept warm enough in my opinion.
The Fire Alarm went off 4 times one night during our stay with no attempt to apologise for a severely disrupted nights sleep for any of the hotel guests as far as we could see. Fingers crossed management will sort these issues as the hotel itself is great!!!!

More like a 3 star hotel

The whole stay was a disappointment. The service, food and facilities were more like a 3 star. I can't believe it was a Hilton hotel I expected more from the brand. Some of the staff even admitted there were lots of problems at the hotel and they were struggling to bring the standard up. I would not recommend staying here. It's not worth the 5 star price !!!!

Good hotel location. Poor customer service.

We booked Hilton Cape Verde because it's a new hotel, so we hoped for top-notch 5star service.
Unfortunately our expectations were not met.
The hotel is in a great location on the beach and close to Santa Maria. The rooms and hotel are nice.
We were very disappointed with their staff and poor customer service.
Most of their staff lacked basic training and were ill prepared to work in customer facing roles. The level of incompetency was shocking!
There were a catalogue of issues related to very poor customer service.
The only member of staff who delivered good service was Jamie at the beach bar. He was Great!
Hotel has potential but they need to work on developing their staff urgently, to be considered a 5 star hotel.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals, Die größe und Ausstattung des Zimmers, Sauberkeit, die Lage und die ganze Anlage, Pool, die Liegen und die Nähe zum Strand. Auch das Essen fand ich top.
Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt.

Zimmerreinigung, hatten immer zu wenige Handtücher, am Morgen war das Personal seeeeehr langsam mit der Kaffebedienung.

Alles in allem ein wunderbares Hotel, würde auf jeden Fall wieder im Hilton buchen!

Ein Top Hotel an sehr guter Lage. das Morgen- und Abendbuffet waren von hervorragender Qualität, die Zimmer immer sauber gemacht, die Lage mit direktem Strandzugang sehr gefällig. Gut auch der nahe Hertz Autoverleih und die Parkmöglichkeit, wobei man auch zu Fuss schnell am Hafen von Santa Maria ist.

Avoid - scam. I often use Expedia and have always been very satisfied with the services. However, today I encountered a serious problem at Hilton Cabo Verde (Sal – Cape Verde).

Although I paid the full room price in advance through the platform (excluding taxes, which were to be paid locally), I was forced to pay the full amount again at a higher room rate upon check-out. They claimed they had received no payment from Expedia.

I refused to pay, but my taxi was physically stopped until I paid, and they threatened to involve the police. That’s not a situation I wanted to be in while in Africa, especially just two hours before my flight. I was therefore forced to pay a second time, at a higher rate.

I have all proof of booking with and the double payment to the hotel.

A hotel like this doesn’t belong on this platform.

Pas de Business Center et pas de poste informatiue. Menus peu variés au Buffet. Le Bounty Restaurant est un peu loin et cher. Pas d'áutre restaurant pour le midi..Animation quasi inexistante.
