The location, staff, the room, cleanliness, food happy hour, pools, all really amazing definitely would recommend the Morabeza hotel. However just a note for some travellers, this time of year, January to February tends to be a lot older clientele so if you’re looking forward a lovely quiet relaxing time this is perfect for you. Directly by the beach and by the strip where there are lots of really great restaurants and bars with music every evening. Overall this is a beautiful place to visit. Temperatures are just perfect and lots of outdoor water sports which are well worth the trip to have a look at the wildlife in the sea that cannot be matched. The people of Cabo Verde are extremely helpful, polite and very cool. Overall I would recommend Cabo Verde to the traveller who wants something a little bit more than a beach and pool holiday lots to do and explore.

We booked the hotel last minute, which means we only had the choice of their last room available, a standard room.
Whilst the room was their cheapest, we were fine.
However, the rest of the hotel was faultless from arrival to leaving.The location of the hotel was probably the best location of all the hotels as it was near to everything that we required.

L'hôtel refait des chambres à neuf.
Le petit déjeuner est très bon, mention spéciale pour les beignets à la banane.
Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres, nous avions une suite parentale d'environ 35m carré, salle de bain avec douche et baignoire et double vasque, un balcon très grand avec table. Chaises et 2 transats. Les piscines calmes, le Beach Club très sympa, juste dommage que les lits soient des matelas à même le sable et pas des transat en bois comme ceux en terrasse. Location gratuite pour les clients de l'hôtel, c'est top. Je le recommande, surtout que les autres autours sont moins bien...

It’s a great hotel, excellent value for the money. Hotel is located very central and doesn’t have a private beach, what means that at the beach club anyone can come and take sun loungers as long as they pay, which is fine just something to be aware of if you are looking for a private beach.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour au Morabeza pour le cadre général, les chambres spacieuses et bien décorées, les espaces verts bien entretenus, le petit déjeuner copieux, varié et de qualité, l'accueil du personnel toujours avenant et souriant, les activités et jeux proposés... Le plus important étant à mon avis que malgré la taille de l'hôtel (120 chambres), ce n'était jamais la cohue ni au restaurant ni autour des piscines, on pouvait rester au calme sans problème.

We had a wonderful 5-night stay. The location is perfect right on the beach and the edge of town, but quiet and relaxing. Everywhere was very clean, the food is great, there's plenty to do and the staff were all so nice and helpful. Having explored Santa Maria, we would definitely choose Morabeza again.

The perfect choice for visiting Sal. Loved our room on the ground floor as we could walk straight out to the beach in 2 minutes. Restaurant on the beach which is part of hotel served some great food, especially love the seared tuna and grilled meats. The location is probably the best in Santa Maria as it’s right next to the famous pier and about a 5 min walk into the heart of town. Would go back and stay at this exact same hotel in a heartbeat.

Can really recommend Morabeza hotel. The room was located on the adults only series 600. Large rooms and good breakfast. Just go outside and you end up on the main street of Santa Maria. Very nice treatment from all the staff. Would love to come back.

Sa situation en bordure de mer dans la petite ville de Santa Maria font qu'il possède un emplacement idéal pour tout type de séjour. C'est très sûr, vraiment propre, il y a beaucoup de charme, la nourriture est excellente, le personnel est efficace et vraiment gentil. Ne cherchez pas ailleurs , cet établissement est une perle.

Quick stay here before a flight but it was overall a good stay. The beds were a bit lumpy and the showerheads were sorta difficult to use, but it was quiet and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed having the snack bar on the property and the proximity to the beach. It would have been nice to have a designated beach area for the hotel but maybe that’s coming with the beach club they’re building.

This is a very good hotel. But not as good as it should be. Many details were never explained to me when I checked in. For example: there was supposed to be a welcome drink/meeting the following morning, this was not mentioned to me. I found out days later and it would have been very helpful to me if I had known about it. As a result, several things were a mystery to me: The restaurants - I showed up at the downstairs restaurant for their buffet dinner on Saturday evening. I was told all the tables were reserved and there was no table for me. Someone else had earlier told me that reservations were not required, so I just showed up. This also happened two days later. I also wondered about towels - I had a green towel but I noticed most people had blue towels. As a result I was afraid to use the main pool and bar area because I didn't see any green towels. I went to ask about it and was told the green towel was actually a higher class and I could go anywhere. Who knew? Certainly I was never told and felt banished to the distant 600 block pool area. So...many, many strange details and lack of communications.. Perhaps a language barrier? Great hotel, not so great management I would say. Several waiting staff were also less than friendly or helpful. This hotel does the have the best location on the beach. The town area is somewhat sketchy, especially at night. Many aggressive sellers of all commodities.

Our stay was excellent. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Housekeeping and cleanliness of the room was very good. The gardens are beautifully kept. The area around the pool was spotless. The location is fabulous, close to town and right on the beach. The hotel is quietly luxurious, elegant and very charming. It’s gorgeously relaxing - no loud music or pool activities - but you can learn a few words of Creole, how to play Uril and Petanque, and there is live local music in the bar a few nights per week. Guest services can help with anything and everything.

The Morabeza is a haven of peace and tranquility; it is not for those who like a hectic life! They do not have swimming pools with big water chutes, play load music all day or have an endless list of activities. It is for those who have travelled for real relaxation - we couldn't believe how wonderfully quiet it is! The staff move quietly through the hotel and grounds, politely respectful. The rooms are very quiet thus ensuring good sleep and privacy.

The hotel is beautiful and we loved our room. It has very easy access to the town which comes alive at night with lots of very good restaurants.
The beach side restaurant was great for lunch, we only ate at the hotel on 2 evenings as there are lots of great restaurants in the town
Only downside was breakfast. It was a buffet style breakfast but not all the food was covered and there were flies everywhere.
If you want a guided tour around the island then ask for Nelson he was a great guide

Perfect. Hotel location for those who like to explore on foot but also feel close to home, well, at least temporary home. Staff were extremely pleasant and friendly or spoke. English, Portuguese, French, Spanish and a few other languages. The hotel has lots of activities and the food options are delicious. The only downside was the old school room keys and the stray dogs begging for food. Hotel is extremely affordable and has a beautiful view of the sea

However for the premium price paid I was expecting a bit more attention to details, for example we had mosquitoes in our room and took us to complain 3 times before they placed a mosquito repellent in the room, the pillows were not really comfortable and a bit old and lumpy I'd say, the restaurants (all three of them) where pricy and quite average... However overall our stay was really good and we would book again.

It was our first visit to Cabo Verde and, thanks to the incredible hotel Morabeza, we spent an unforgettable week so it won't be the last time. From checking in until checking out the service was friendly, discrete and swift. The location of the hotel can be described as triple A: central and yet quiet. We tried everything: the restaurant, the beach club, the pool bar and the bar on the first floor: all very pleasant with impeccable service and quality food/drinks. To make a long story short: Morabeza is the best place on Sal for a relaxed and stressfree beach holiday!

Morabeza is a relaxing hotel which although spread out across a wide area, only has about 120 rooms.. the rooms are spacious and the pool areas excellent. The food at the Beach bar and the Happy Hour in bar La Tortue are exceptional.. with its location by the beach in Santa Maria this is so much nicer than the All Inclusive monstrosities further out of town. Staff are friendly and excellent.

Football after 16 hrs in front of the Beach bar/ restaurant greatly devaluate this nice hotel, since it may, inclusive , hurt guests .Further more, it appears that the \"players\" are hotel staff from the jet and sailing divisions.

Really enjoyed our second stay at the Morabeza and it won’t be the last. The staff are so friendly and helpful. A special mention needs to go to Denilson in the Tortue bar, he is so friendly and helpful and really treats you like a friend. The one niggle if you can call it that is the constant fight against the odd ant in the room, but that said, they do have insect repellent in the room for you to use. The plant life from the well kept gardens is the cause. They also are constantly cleaning the hotel which is great to see. Food in the restaurants was great and not too expensive for the quality.

Although full, we never felt the hotel was crowded. There were ample sun beds , great bars and a lovely ambience. We were B and B which meant we had plenty of chance to sample the local, varied restaurants. Can’t wait to return for another chilled pre-Christmas break.

Lovely hotel, spread over large gardens which makes it feel very uncrowded. Sea view room was very nice, spotlessly clean with fab bathroom. Staff are very helpful and friendly , especially the guy in charge of the bar upstairs! Very well positioned next to town on the best part of the beach. Highly recommend.

We aren't typically resort people. We came for a quick stopover on the way to Boa Vista to see the popular Santa Maria beach and thought it'd be fun to do a resort experience with or daughter for the night. Was so much fun to jump between the ocean and the pools. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was very nice. The location was really nice since it's right on the beach for a morning swim and close to town to walk out to a restaurant or bar.

Arrived at midnight and were welcomed by the night receptionist who was very pleasant but gave me paper information which was not in English, but no problem as I swapped it the next morning. Breakfast was buffet style and had a good selection and plentiful. The flies were a bit annoying but this is the case wherever you are in Cape Verde so the hotel is not accountable for this.
We had a junior suite which was spacious and although we were facing the beach we would have preferred a room on an upper floor as the view would have been nicer.
The guest relations staff were helpful. We did not eat at the hotel as we prefer to go out and sample local restaurants.
