Mold not what you would expect in a hotel from IHG

It had black mold above the shower. Not what you would expect for a Holiday Inn Express and for the price being at the top end for the area. It shows not all hotels are run to the same level.
Access was nice and the staff was polite, but it the mold made you feel more like you were in a Super 8.

This was the most delightful hotel. On paper, it doesn't seem like it's anything special, but the rooms were super clean and the staff were the most friendly and pleasant hotel staff I've interacted with in a long time. I very much appreciate everyone that works there.

We had a good stay at the Vernal Holiday Inn Express. They were just finishing a remodel so not all the amenities were available but what they had redone looked great. Breakfast was good but they ran out of coffee and I had to leave before they refilled... it took quite a while. Would certainly recommend for a 1 night layover like we had.

This property was under a major renovation, which was noted when I booked, thus the 4 star. We were on 2nd floor which most of which was complete. Our room was very nice, all new everything. Bed was comfortable, very clean, no noise from construction. The breakfast was continental as construction did allow for full hot breakfast. No problem for us.

I chose this hotel to take my grandchildren on a getaway and because there is a swim pool. Turns out the pool heater was broken and the pool was very very cold! We weren’t informed about that until we checked in.
Then at between 5:30-6:00 am the fire alarm went off. The desk people didn’t know what to do. We were told not to evacuate. But with the alarm kept going off everyone was awake and up. So that ended any kind of relaxing vacation. On the upside, breakfast was fine.

This hotel charges premium prices for limited service. I got two paper cups for the Keurig and one sheet change that I had to specifically request over 14 nights. The hotel was noisy and poorly managed. I work in the Vernal area around 2-3 months a year. I won't stay here again.

Front desk lacking in customer service

Front desk lady had a attitude. My reservation was for 2 rooms and she said it was only for one. She said I would have to call Hotels.com that I made reservation under. When all she really needed was the other person’s name the other room was under.

Great location, speedy check in. One elevator which can be a hassle if it’s booked - having to wait. The rooms are clean, the tv is old, the showers need updating, the shower floor made noise every time you moved around. Overall a good stay.m

Another great stay!!

We made a needed trip to Vernal and chose to stay where we have many times before as we have never been disappointed. This trip mirrored all the previous stays. Check in was smooth, room was just as it should be: quiet, safe, clean, comfortable, and welcomed after a long day. Breakfast was good—And the Staff encountered were wonderful and very helpful!

Questionable Service

Hate to give a sour review but our last day of 6 was the worse. We extended our stay by 1 day. Because of that they did not clean our room, they changed the hours of breakfast without warning to any guest so we missed breakfast the last day, and the wifi password and keys did not work. Needless to say, towels and toilet paper required another elevator trip and so did returning from a missed breakfast (did McDonald's though which in a lot of ways a Sausage McMuffin with Egg is always better than a hotel breakfast) and another elevator trip for new keys, not necessarily in that order. Otherwise, clean and friendly people. Just a lot of oversights. BTW, Housekeeping was the best I had ever experienced when they did it. OK, they missed a day. Oh well. I'd go back.

Great except for noisy family above me

Everything was great except for the loud young child in the room above me that sounded like it was jumping off the furniture late into the night and then as soon as it returned from an early breakfast.
Surely the parents didn’t get any sleep either… sadly neither did I. Parents need to be thoughtful of the guests around them.

Almost perfect.

The internet left a lot to be desired. Maybe it was just our room being at the very end hallway of the top floor but the wifi had very poor signal, kept dropping out and when it did work it was very slow. The hot tub had the worst bubbles ever but was hot. Everything else was great. The breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable.

Was good for a short stay- exactly what I expected. They did have a confusing COVID policy- signs saw all must wear masks, but no one did, including staff. Manager said that was only for the non-vaccinated but that was not what any of the multiple posted signs said…😳

Our room faced the street which tended to be a little loud due to street traffic. However, a white noise machine was provided which helped. There was a good variety for breakfast and I appreciated that it was served by a hotel employee to minimize hands (germs) touching all of the serving tongs, etc. This hotel was conveniently located in the middle of town and near restaurants and other amenities.

This hotel was fantastic! We actually left another hotel in the area that was horrific to come to this one and we were very happy with the facility and service we received! Our dog even had an accident on one of the beds and the staff happily replaced the sheets for us, which we are really grateful for! Overall, we were very happy with our stay!

some things to consider before booking

rooms were okay, breakfast okay, service was friendly - but the two things that were problematic were really annoying. Only one bar on cell service (I have verizon) and super slow WIFI - streaming was not possible, even using social media was a challenge. Also the rooms were pretty loud - i could hear everything above me and next to me. Honestly - no reason to stay here vs a cheaper place.

Ask if the couches pull out...

I paid extra for the large room with 2 beds and a couch on the presumption that (like other Holiday Inn Expresses) the couch would fold out into a third bed. I was traveling with my two kids, and we prefer to each have our own beds to sleep in. Sadly, this one (or any of the couches in those rooms) do not.

Kind of a disappointment. The rooms were clean and nice enough. The pool was bad. The water was freezing, and the hot tub was only lukewarm. You couldn't sit in it for more than a few minutes before you were shivering. Breakfast staff was very friendly.

The beds were extermely hard almost like sleeping on an ironing board. The room phone didn't work and we had to fiddle with thr lamps to get a couple turned on. The room was clean but at around 2 or 3 in the morning someone smoking fiiled the hotel vents with cigarrette smoke. While the hotel is trying to maintain safe standards allot of people don't follow the guidelines. The room had a whit noise generator that wasrather annoying. The noise from the street wasn't too bad but the WN generator made it worse. The Staff was friendly and helpful breakfast was handled diiferently and didn't seen to have as many options.

For a place to sleep and adventure out it's a great stay. My husband and I took our dogs with us and my sister. We had a room that had two beds. My sister had one bed and slept great. My husband and I with our dogs had the other bed not enough room for all of us we had poor sleep. Other than that it was great!
