The bed was like sleeping in a canoe! They only give one towel per person, there was no coffee pot, coffee was available in the office but no one was ever there. The ice machine was also in the office and again no one was ever there. There was a small refrigerator and microwave , but the microwave did not work. They did not clean our room Saturday or bring clean towels.We had to ask for them and the people we were asking could not understand us because they did not speak english. There was one lady that came for a few hours each night.That was very helpful and able to get us towels and ice. We will not stay here again , nor will we recommend this place.

Check in process very slow. Checkout process no staff and doors were locked at 1030 am. When we checked in and inquired about the keys, we were told that all keys are under the mats in front of the door. This made us feel unsafe due to that anyone could be in our room as we entered or anyone could be next door and never had to pay. We were extremely disappointed that this property would be touted by Expedia.

The Green Valley Lodge property was near enough to the Nashville, Indiana area that access to shopping , dining and concert and play venues were easy to get to. The room was clean and modern and parking was handy. We have stayed here several times and plan on staying again in the future. The only minus would be the price of rooms have increase quite a bit…!

We were supposed to stay two nights. There was no one in the office when we got there, I was sent a text telling me our key was under the door mat. We were the only people in the whole motel, and it war really eerie. I couldn't sleep worrying about maybe this being a "set-up" for something. We decided to go home instead of staying the second night.

A/C was the only highlight! This place survives solely on being the last resort!! Curtains were broken, toilet wouldn’t flush, an odor of some cleaner I had never smelled permeated everything!! But…. On a 90 degree day, you could hang meat in your room because the a/c was so cold! If you have to, it’s better than sleeping in your car! An EXTENSIVE search showed no signs of bed bugs and it did have a mini fridge!

We did not stayed, and they refuse to refund, the room stinks and the place don’t feel safe, there was nobody around, no manager. We got there , no one was there, we had spoken to someone on the phone, it was a heavy accent speaking, could not understand , we will not come back, we learned our lesson, not to use online ever again. They are a thief , it was clever process. Took advantage of our money. They made a clever theft.

The room was clean and very comfortable. There was no staff for the check-in. There was a handwritten note on the locked front door of the office with two numbers to call, assuming that you had a cell phone handy. After dialing the first number with no answer, I got hold of someone at the second number. I was given the room number and told the key would be under the mat in front of the door. Thankfully, I got to the right room because I found out that all of the guests that checked in that day found their key under the mat in front of their door. I also had to call the next day to find out about checking out since the office was locked. After getting into the room, I grabbed the ice container sitting by the bathroom and went looking for the ice machine. Couldn't find it and no one to ask. Also, the hairdryer in the bathroom did not work and the knob to adjust the temperature on the air conditioner was missing. If you want a room for just a place to sleep with zero amenities and a reasonable price, this place might work for you.

I received a text message with my room number and the wi-fi password, with the note that the key to my room was under the mat. This was the only interaction I had with anyone who worked there. The place was fairly dated and had a musty smell. The AC unit was old, and I struggled to find a comfortable temperature. The decor was...interesting! A personal favorite touch was the four-eyed Hamburgler figurine that watched me sleep. I stayed here because Bloomington was full, and this was the closest option- next time I'll drive a little farther.

No one was there. The mattress on the bed awful . It buckled when we sat on it. The sheets covering the mattress were stained (brown). And the biggest complaint is that it stunk. The key kept under the doormat, cute, but not real safe if you ask me. There was an electric strip mounted and painted to the wall where the refrigerator, microwave and tv was plugged into. The worst part is I probably won’t get any of my money back because we did not stay there. Went to Quality Inn Friday and stayed at Salt Creek Inn on Saturday.

That’s fine with me! The room is clean. The bathroom was pretty much spotless which is all I need for one night. If you want a clean room and easy access to outside, this is the place for you. It’s about 2 miles from Brown County Park.

Booked 2 rooms the day before our arrival. No one in the office when we arrived July 4th around 4:00 pm. Not a single car in the parking lot during a holiday weekend should have been a forewarning. Called repeatedly before an extremely rude man finally answered the phone. Said our keys were under the front doormat. Come to find out there was a key under the doormat of every single room. Entered the rooms and the rancid smell of mold was unbearable. Although the bed was made the pillow cases were dirty. How safe is a room when the keys to every room are under the doormat? Pretty obvious why not a single room was occupied during a holiday weekend in a touristy area. Ratings and reviews must be manipulated. Needless to say we left immediately and booked a room elsewhere. Trying to get a full refund.

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago. Then it was an older, yet clean and charming roadside motel with delightful staff. This visit was a completely different experience. We stayed for three nights, and not once did we see a staff member. When we arrived to check in we found the office locked, with no directions on what to do or how to check in. We had to call the hotel to tell them we were in the parking lot to check-in…they then told us there was a key under the door mat that would get us into the room: We came and went from the hotel throughout our three days and not once was the office open, nor was there any evidence of a staff member on property. The room smelled so, so musty it was overpowering. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed between guests and there were spider webs in the corners of the bathroom, hair in the shower, and soap scum on the sink. The parking lot (including in front of our door) was littered with cigarette butts and garbage. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to stay.

Check in was very strange. When I arrived at the lodge, there was no one there. There was a very faded note on the door with a number to call. In between his heavy accent and the road noise (since I was standing outside) he was difficult to understand. When he found out where I was and my name he told me my room number and said the key was under the mat.

The room was nothing fancy but it was adequate. It was quiet even though there were quite a few people there Saturday night. The price was lower than several other places.

Room was dated but very clean and beds were comfortable. There is no in person staff and we had to call and ask how to check in. The representative that answered phone was not very nice and acted aggravated that we called. The check in process is calling to get your room number and then the staff tells you where to find your key. Check out process is similar, no staff to process check out, you leave the key in a designated non-secured location and just leave. We did not care for this process and we didn’t like that we had to call to figure out how to check in and out. It was ok for one night and was last minute so glad it was at least clean, quiet and comfortable.

There is no staff on site. You are on your own. If there is a problem, handle it yourself. There are no amenities. No coffee. No vending machines. There is an ice machine but it's locked in the office and you will probably be charged when you break the windows to get in. You are about a mile out of town, so it is a quick trip to grocery, CVS, or convenience store.
Since NO ONE is around, I did not feel safe. If there's a fire, drunk and rowdy guests, an enterprising thief breaking into everyone's car...handle it yourself.
To be fair, the room was clean. Shower and toilet worked fine. Mini fridge and microwave worked. TV reception was awful. Area was pretty quiet. Bed pillows are FLAT.
There was no local information in room. One would think since the guest would have to go into town to eat, it would be to a business advantage to advertise at the motel. And there's lots of shopping in town. But you have to find out for yourself.
Bottom line. This is an okay place to sleep and use the bathroom. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. The rest stop on the interstate is a better option.

We paid for it and ended up not staying there. When we got there the registration desk was closed and a phone number to call. We did and he came ito check us in and gave us the key. I had to stop him from leaving to open the room door because the key didn’t work. When we walked in the room although it was clean it had a musty smell that was overwhelming. It triggered an allergic reaction and we had to leave. The attendant was no longer there so we had to find another hotel in town to spend the night. It was not even cheap. Definitely do not recommend!

When we arrived the fellow at the desk was preparing to leave for the day but checked us in right away. The lodge is older, but has been cared for pretty well. Our toilet had issues with solids, and the ice machine was locked in the office, so we couldn't get any ice. Other than that, what you see is what you get. Clean room and bathroom. Nice staff at check in. Close to town and reasonably priced. Maybe let folks know to get any ice they need before office is locked? Would stay there again.

I have complaints about the room it self or the staff. What little interaction I had with them they seemed friendly enough. The only complaint that I have is that there no vending machines and the ice machine was in the office that stayed locked and you had call the number on the door to get someone to open it and if you were lucky they were on site. Other than that we had nice quiet weekend. Also don't expect delivery. Every place we tried to order from said we were out of ranch but, that not the hotels fault.

Extremely overpriced, but had no other option at time of booking. No staff on premises at any time, including check-in/check-out. Dangerous stairs-slanted and uneven risers. Lights did not work. A/C was extremely loud. Faucet would not shut off easily. WiFi not available at any time during the stay. Marijuana smell coming from rooms below (and it was cheap stuff, too - smelled terrible). Maybe worth $60/night, but certainly not the $135/night I was charged.

It was okay. Nothing to write home about. The location relative to Nashville and Brown County State Park was great. The room was clean, but dated, which wasn't a dealbreaker. The outside property needs some upkeep...trees and bushes need trimming, cigarette butts aplenty. There was no staff available on site when we arrived...we had to call a number and they told us the key was under the mat, which was strange and offputting. No amenities, pool, continental breakfast...no frills. A pretty basic motel overall, but the price was good in comparison.

We sat on the phone at the checkin door for 15 minutes before being told how to enter the room. We had to knock down 3 spider webs before getting to our door. Upon entering the room it looks ok, with no lights on. We turned the bedside lamps on and I shined my phone flashlight on the bed as I always do. I was DISGUSTED with the amount of make up/ body oil was on the pillows. The blanket was also dirty. The toilet bowl hadn’t been cleaned either. No refund was available even though we walked out and drove 2 hours home to sleep in our own bed. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

We came late, the owner made sure we got into the room safe. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us. It was very quiet. I really liked this motel. It's cute and dated which was a plus for me. True, the property is not immaculately maintained and it's next to an abandoned parking lot but it's not scary. The location is a short drive out of town in a slightly rural part which was great for me. There's not a typical staffed check-in desk (you have to call to get your instructions) but I had no problems with that. My room was cute and quiet. It had all the amenities I needed. Not updated in terms of furniture or decor but who cares. Everything worked fine. Chairs to sit in outside the door. Easy access to load and unload the car. I really enjoyed my stay and felt safe and satisfied with the value for the price.

Overpriced for what it is. The room was outdated which is ok but it smelled musty and was hot. As far as cleanliness we found old wrappers and leaves under the bed and dead bugs on the floor. The lobby was closed for check in and out. We had to call to get into our room. It is a motor lodge which I did not know until arriving.

Has a small cottage type feel, rooms kinda on the small side, it was clean, a little bit dated inside. Light fixtures, sink, trim etc older but clean. Had a mini fridge ( didnt work well if at all) and small microwave. Bathroom was very small and a new shower head was way overdue. Beds were not made everyday and towels were not restocked (wasnt an issue for me but if u expect that) There was nobody at front desk had to call number but was answered fast and taken care of. For the money I think it was a nice place and would stay at again. If your expecting a 5 star hotel look elsewhere.

Green Valley Lodge was very clean and well-maintained. Staff was exceptionally accommodating. There’s a complimentary ice machine in the office. Beds had mattress pads and were surprisingly comfortable. Shower had good pressure and temp control. Linens were good quality. I’d stay again Don’t let the fact that it was a motel stop you It was charming and a pleasant surprise.

Our room was near the back of the motel, so it was quiet... but the motel itself lacks amenities and has poor communication. Twice we had staff come in on us (while we were changing). We also requested a late check-out and there was no one to leave our key with as the lobby was "closed." In addition, the T.V. did not work properly and kept starting/ stopping/ lagging, etc. The hallways and doorways had little to no lighting, which made returning to our room at night, difficult & quite honestly, dangerous. Although, the location and cost was good, I would NOT stay here again!!

We only stayed one night rather than 2. Could not take a shower due to no being able to slide the door open. There are no phones in the rooms. Air-conditioner would only blow the fan no cold air. Office was not open at 8 am the morning to make the complaint about the shower. Coffee and ice are in the office, so no morning coffee. Would strongly suggest to take them off your site.

Mold in the coffee pot at the front desk should have been our first sign . Very old and outdated rooms. The room was clean but smelled musty and old. TV had cable but continually froze so couldn't watch . Shower small and sprayed to the ceiling. Cigerette smoke from people smoking outside their door came in the window air conditioner. The smell woke us up multiple times. We left early morning after 1st night , even though we paid for 2 nights.

Not our bet encounter there.

Our stay was not the first time there. I was disappointed with check out. There was no one there an no clue that would be the case. Not only that but the phone numbers given were not helpful. One mailbox was full and the other wasn’t set up, so I had to call later from the road to make sure we were checked out. They were nonchalant about the whole thing.

This is a very rundown over priced motel. We had to call someone to come to the site to check us in. Mattresses are not good. The room smelled musty as soon as we opened the door. There was mold in the shower. Dead spiders on the bathroom floor. Not updated for technology. The tv only had 24 channels. Only a 2 plug outlet by the bed.
When we called to check out the motel, the man stated there was a pool and free breakfast. They had neither.

No staff on site.

Had to call a number on the door to get a clerk to drive over and check us in. Reviews on other websites mentioned breakfast and a pool. They have neither. No one on site at checkout either, so we left our keys in a cardboard box attached to the door.

The room was clean and the bed/pillows were quite comfortable. The TV is satellite and kept cutting out. Good as a bare bones budget hotel, but if you want more than just a clean place to sleep, look elsewhere.

The bed was super comfortable. I would buy one for home without any doubt. The room was clean and updated. The tv did not work correctly and there was a line through it. For the most part, it was super quiet, other than what was probably a few people drinking. Wasn’t a big deal though. I would stay here again, especially for the price.

Avoid this hotel

This hotel would be fine if you are looking for a retro 1950 stay. When was the last time you had mismatched sheets, low toilet, an outlet with an adapter for more plugs. (Fire hazard?). Of course there was no maid service. Coffee was suppose to be available in the morning for a couple hours but the lobby was locked with no attendant on duty. Even when we tried to check out we had to just leave our key outside the office door because it was still unattended. We forfeited our money for the second night because we couldn’t think of staying there a second night. Many cable channels are advertised but we couldn’t even get the major network channels. No TV is a deal breaker.

Quaint and clean but service lacking

Had two rooms for a quick overnight stay while attending graduation at Indiana University. Both rooms were cool (AC on) upon arrival which was nice. One room was very nice while the other had a musty smell. Each room was clean, had a microwave and refrigerator and a comfortable bed. As for service - good upon check-in but they had a sign saying coffee would be available at 7am (Sunday morning). We ended up checking out at 8:15am and still no one had arrived.

The place is no-frills but served us well. It just would have been nice for the office area to be open for coffee and ice.

The property is in a small quaint area of middle Indiana. We were there for the IU graduation. We showed up late, so didn’t have a big interaction with the property. It wasn’t a basic Hilton or Marriot hotel…it had the personality of a small hotel we would visit as kids. The interactions we did have with staff were great. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area
