We stayed for 2 nights visiting my daughter in college.We arrived on Friday afternoon November , 7. Check in was easy. We walked in a room and I was so upset because nobody clean the room. It was crumbs on a kitchen floor, dog hair on a desk, on a carpet and kitchen floor. Splashes of soap and water on a bathroom mirror. Looks like housekeeper change the sheets and left the room. I called front desk to tell them about condition of the room and ask to move us to different room but they told me hotel rooms s sold out, was no rooms available.
Very nice housekeeper came and offered to clean our room. We left for the evening and when we came back the room was looking much more presentable.
Also smell in the room was very heavy to breath. Like bad spray or something else.
We been told that this hotel is a dog friendly but it’s doesn’t mean can’t be clean properly for the next guests.
Was very upsetting begging of the stay.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The room was not clean—the tub, microwave, refrigerator, and windows were all dirty. This made the experience uncomfortable and far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here unless improvements are made to cleanliness and maintenance. Also someone tried to check into my room at 7:30 AM and staff tried to get into my room around 10:30 AM stating that my room was supposed to be vacant although I had the room for two nights.

My family felt unsafe. The housekeeping staff tried to get us to leave our room before our agreed upon check out time. I could not in good conscience recommend this hotel nor would I want to stay there again. The room wasn't well dusted or vacuumed. Smells in hallways. The pool wasn't operable. Not a good experience.

My room was already paid for a week before I arrived. The front desk attendant asked for my license then proceeded to say my card had been declined? She never asked for a card and the card that I had used to pay for my room had a 0 balance. Next evening we stop at the front desk for coffee. she said we were not even in there system. But she wanted to comfort us by saying are stuff had not been touched.

The bed was comfortable, parking lot was fine, the low score I gave was due to the lack of hand soap by the sink and body wash in the shower (both bottles were empty). When I went down to the front desk to report this, the clerk said she would get some from supplies and bring it to our room, which she did soon after. The room was a bit dirty with trash and dirt on the floor behind the nightstand between the beds.

There was loud music each of three days we were there. The hotel staff knew it was a construction crew staying there but did nothing about it.
The tub was supposedly handicap accessible but was far too high for comfortable access.

We were welcomed by the stench of the lobby and the smell continued to our room. Bed cover was ripped and dirty and was not washed for years. Stains in the toilet. Hot water will stop abruptly. We understand the hotels are crowded in this area due to the large number of families coming to Bloomington. But this place is not the place to stay. Please do not add additional stress staying at this place. Not ot mentiona they charge very high price. For an additional $20 there are other clean hotels in Bloomington. If there is an option to upload photos we could have uploaded the photos of the filthy rooms.

Checked it to first room got there and it smelled very moldy that’s because cause the air conditioner had the entire floor soaked! So I tried to cancel, but they said they couldn’t give me my money back because I booked through a third-party so they gave me another room. Got to this room and my TV did not work and they couldn’t call maintenance so I decided to take a shower and when I went to the bathroom, I noticed mold all on the ceiling. At this point I was feed up took both keys downstairs and left! Filed a complaint now wa in response! I really don’t want anything short of a free room and my money back it was awful!😡

Misleading Listing and Poor Conditions

We’re a traveling basketball team, and we booked Candlewood Suites in Bloomington specifically for the pool and the in-room fridge—both important when you’ve got a group of kids and a weekend full of games. While the fridge is a decent size, it definitely needed a proper cleaning (some mystery liquid was lurking in the drawers—yikes).

The biggest issue? The pool. It’s been out of order for nearly a year, but that wasn’t mentioned anywhere when we booked. If we had known, we absolutely would’ve chosen a different hotel. The photos online are misleading.

Cleanliness was also a letdown. One of the bathroom pictures in our room had long hair caked to the glass—like it hadn’t been wiped in forever. And unfortunately, every room our team booked had a weird, musty funk to it that was impossible to ignore.

Needless to say, our team won’t be staying here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either—especially if you’re traveling with kids or expecting basic amenities to match the listing.

Does not offer online check-in. Which is fine, but it did take a while to do the actual check in at the desk. We stayed 2 nights. The 2nd night we got some snacks from their little store. When we went to the desk to have them charged to our room, we found out that we were not checked in. They did take care of it by the time we left. Overall this is more like an extended stay hotel but on the cheaper side.

Bathroom was cleanish, black hairs in tub and on floor. Room was spacious ,AC worked, pool wasn’t available, coffee machine in commissary area was NASTY!!!!! And that’s being nice. Employee, who was nice said coffee machine was broken. I basically chose this place and paid the high price compacted to others in the area just for the pool so I could spend time w my granddaughters while I was here visiting. A lot of the hotel was clean and ok, just some of the other areas weren’t.

I was on a company trip, for 3 days. I paid for 3 rooms as well. The desk clerk falsely accused my adult work crew of being loud and smoking in the room. After offering him and staff to enter room , to prove we were not doing such a thing , he evicted us and said he was calling cops. Keep in mind , I have an adult crew, 50yr old plus , and we are not kids, but this “kid” was rude, unprofessional, had no proof whatsoever and no argument or respect. We also asked to talk to upper management, but he resorted to the back office like a baby. Horrible experience, and no refund was granted for the days we did not even stay.

Arrived to a room that had a stain on the comforter and leftover food in the refrigerator. Also, there was a random comb in the bathroom, obviously less left by a previous guest when brought to the attention of the staff they were very friendly in offered another room, I was going to be gone for a couple hours so I just asked that they clean the existing room and I would be back later. Room basically needs updates. Shower curtain rod was barely hanging in the wall and there were stains on the ceiling. Towels and toiletries were super nice however. Staff was very friendly.

Location is not so close to IU campus. Hotel staff at checkin was focused on other work rather than checking in guests. One staff member struggled for 5-10 minutes to check in a guest while I waited. Our room had someone's left over chicken in the refrigerator, the furniture had not been dusted in some time as evidenced by the layer of dust on the nightstand and lamps. We were awakened o. Saturday morning by the smell of weed from the neighboring room. On Sunday at 4am we woke to a strong cigarette smoke smell. Not sure if it was from the hallway or same room, but my husband has asthma and both incidents caused him some breathing issues. The room also smelled musty. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the front desk staff was nice.
