I would not recommend staying at this location. Amenities including elevator & air conditioning were out of order, room was filthy, items in room were missing or broken, complex was in disrepair, strong odors were present, & mold & bugs were witnessed. Left the hotel after reporting unacceptable conditions to staff. In the process of requesting refund from Hotels.com.

Sheets where clean and bed looked perfect and not just slopped together! Lobby, hallway and room smelled clean!! Clerk was friendly and helpful! All amenities worked and nothing alarming for broken.

Sadly I managed a hotel so my expectations are higher than most. Some hair on bathroom floor behind door. Fridge shelves had a few crumbs on it. Floor could of been vacuumed better.

Overall for some review on other hotels I passed to come here was top notch. Will return when I'm in the area.

I booked my stay online and selected to pay at the property when I arrived and though I selected the given option to pay at the property because they still chose to run my card on file, my stay was canceled that I had a whole week in advance to my trip and was never notified that because the attempted charge did not go through my stay was canceled until I arrived at the hotel for check-in and was given no help to resolve this matter.
until I came back inside the building over 40 minutes later for them to tell me all of a sudden they had an available room, the same exact type of room I booked online prior to coming. The lack of help, concern or initiative to solve this matter from the front desk, staff was truly unprofessional to deal with

Apparently this property was a Marriott before they purchased it and they advertised a delightful breakfast and there was none siting that they didn’t do this anymore, but they did offer this when it was a Marriott. They need to change this on their advertisement. What a bummer. Otherwise our stay was perfect

Elevator broke during our stay, but there was no signage anywhere relaying this information so I stood there waiting forever for the elevator, then had to carry a heavy suitcase down the stairs which wasn't exactly safe.

My husband and I had been staying here, while our new place was finishing up. The price was right, but I must say the customer service is non existent. The laundry facilities are in non working order taking my money and when brought to staffs attention it was ignored. Going on our second week , we were short on funds and had to wait until 2am for money to arrive. I booked a room immediately and told the same staff member that if we could check in now, we would be out at check out time11am. She would not allow us to check it to a. Paid room!! The owners are never available and the kids will beg you for a cig as soon as you step on the property. Not super clean,not super dirty.After spending the kind of money it cost to stay here, I really expected a better experience, and there is absolutely no breakfast at all.

Hardly any thing in the kitchen for cooking, everything continuously locked up, asked for salt and pepper, I was told all there was , already in your room.. 1 pepper pack and 2 salt packs... No ice bucket... Had to take 1 of 2 kitchen pans to get ice. The room was clean, the staff was very nice, but if you stay here expect the bare minimum

Room 302 was terrible. It stunk so badly that even after the windows were opened and a fan was circulating that room for 8 hours it still smelled so bad. The sheets smelled bad, pillows, and towels too. I assume it's probably in the carpet too. One of the bath towels was also dirty, and so was a wash cloth.

Friendly and patient staff. All the other rooms were great! We will be back! Breakfast was great! I bought 5 rooms and 4/5 were great! Thank you for hosting us!

When we vacated our other Bloomington hotel due to unacceptable condition, we had limited options. This hotel was very welcoming: a truly lovely staff. The 3-star score is only that low because we had one of the unrenovated rooms and it was quite dated and the sofa(bed) upholstery and seat cushions were in bad shape. Pros( in addition to the staff): clean facility and room with comfortable bathroom and kitchen, good TV. Surprisingly quiet and convenient location. Perfectly nice comp hot breakfast. Really nice, clean little pool helped us decompress. I would gladly return but request a renovated room.

I don't think I could have gotten more for my money. This is an older property so it's a little frayed in places, but the hardworking (yes, I watched them) staff keep it clean and tidy as possible. The hotel is in desperate need of updates. Floors, both carpet and laminate were filthy. The air conditioner was so loud you could not sleep. I had to ask for anything I needed, including cleaning the room. We stayed a month and they only came around twice to see what we needed. They had two fire drills, which we were not notified prior, which scared my doggie terribly. The pool was not open at all, due to “a crack in the concrete”. There is nowhere to sit outside. The landscaping is deplorable. The side door was left unlocked the entire time so anyone could walk in. The breakfast was rarely ready on time. They charged us $300 for my small dog to stay, which they did not have to clean up after inside or out. There is no refund for a reason, once we got here and saw the unacceptable state of this hotel, it was too late to leave. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, human or animal.

We stayed 7 days and never got the room cleaned, even though there was supposed to be housekeeping every other day. We asked twice to have the room cleaned and to get fresh towels: once the trash was dumped and we got towels, but the second time we were told no - we did get towels but were given a trash bag and told where to put our trash. I never imagined staying 7 days in a hotel and never getting fresh sheets or having the room cleaned. First and last time staying here.

My family and I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. We enjoyed the full kitchen because we could cook the groceries that we bought saving some money from constantly eating out. We were impressed with the variety and quality of options for their complimentary breakfast. The staff are all very helpful when we need to borrow things we suddwnly needed.
Their outdoor pool was closed but we were allowed to use the indoor pool of Fairfield Suites which is just a couple of minutes walk.

We had a fantastic stay and next time we go to Bloomington, we are definitely staying athe TownePlace again.

Hotel should be ashamed to gouge customers there to view the eclipse - charging $500/night for an outdated, shabby, raggedy room. Carpet in the room was stained in several places; sofa looked like it had been there for at least 2 decades; burners on stove were old and worn; furniture appeared to have come from a thrift shop. The hotel needs some serious upgrading and updating, especially if they're going to have the nerve to overprice to such a degree during special events.
On the plus side, 1) every employee we dealt with was exceptionally friendly & helpful; 2) breakfast was good; 3) parking was convenient; 4) hotel is well-located for getting/off interstate

We were given keys to the wrong room at check-in and walked in on another guest. We were asked if we would like housekeeping during our stay, but never actually received housekeeping during our 3-night stay. Two-bedroom suite for 4 guests was stocked with two sets of bath linens and 1.5 rolls of toilet paper. Kitchen had one set of mismatched utensils and little else. Carpet worn transitioning from kitchen tile to carpet with multiple exposed nails sticking up. Had to empty our own trash, repeatedly go to desk to get more linens. Weird paprika (??) smell throughout suite. Breakfast attendant was fantastic and accommodating. Everyone was friendly. Bed comfortable. Multiple restaurants in walking distance. Soda prices tripled in lobby.

I booked this property last minute as it had two bedrooms. The first room we were put in had an awful odor and we could not stay in it. We were put in a room that was dirty (food on floor, on the oven range). The carpets in the hallway and rooms were filthy, the pull out sofa was worn that we did not even attempt to open it. My 2 daughters and I slept in one bed and my husband and son slept in the other- defeated the purpose of having the space. The office staff was very friendly. Marriott needs to do some serious updates to this place. I will never stay here again. We had already prepaid and just slept there but were anxious to wake up and leave.

All staff members were extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We had a two-bedroom suite that was spacious and comfortable, with the exception of our second night during which the AC completely died. We let them know the next morning as we went out for the day and it was still not working at 4pm when we returned, but they very quickly remedied that situation and had a maintenance person in our room before we left the desk. It was fixed less than 30 minutes later. The free breakfast was listed as \"continental\" so we had low expectations but were pleasantly surprised Friday morning with additional hot offerings of sausage links, microwaved breakfast sandwiches (already heated), and mini quiche/egg bites. On Saturday we had other breakfast plans but stopped in to check things out and there were even more options over the weekend, with both bacon and sausage, scrambled eggs, and additional gluten free pastries. There was also a breakfast attendant present keeping everyone informed and happy. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean overall. The stovetop and burners seemed a little grimy and there were crumbs, but we didn't use it so it was easy to overlook. The housekeeping staff left a welcome note and some snacks on our arrival, but they didn't actually set foot in our room again during our stay. They provided 2 towels for 3 registered adults, but we went to the desk and they gave us more. Conveniently located among many shops and restaurants.

We were originally put into a room that reeked of cigarette smoke and other unidentifiable odors. When I went out to talk to the employees they were outside, ironically, smoking. Now, they did give us an identical room that did not smell of smoke, but the carpeting and condition of the furniture and doors, trim, walls was dirty and run down/worn. This property needs a major overhaul/deep cleaning at the very least. It is not a Marriott quality. The employees were all polite, but both being out together smoking cigs is inappropriate.

Both the front desk staff and the lady working the breakfast area were great! They were all very kind, helpful, and refreshing to deal with. I stay at a lot of hotels and you have some great people working at this location. It could use a little upkeep with the cleanliness and furniture. The elevator was super dirty with food and drink spilled in it and the couch and carpet in our room were ripped and the couch could use cleaned. Overall our stay was good. Thank you!

Severely outdated hotel with a motel like feel and a lingering terrible smell throughout the property. Stair railings are shaky. I have stayed in several hotels in the area and this is by far the worst. The staff, however, was very nice. Just the condition of the hotel. Awful.
