Room 302 was terrible. It stunk so badly that even after the windows were opened and a fan was circulating that room for 8 hours it still smelled so bad. The sheets smelled bad, pillows, and towels too. I assume it's probably in the carpet too. One of the bath towels was also dirty, and so was a wash cloth.

Friendly and patient staff. All the other rooms were great! We will be back! Breakfast was great! I bought 5 rooms and 4/5 were great! Thank you for hosting us!

When we vacated our other Bloomington hotel due to unacceptable condition, we had limited options. This hotel was very welcoming: a truly lovely staff. The 3-star score is only that low because we had one of the unrenovated rooms and it was quite dated and the sofa(bed) upholstery and seat cushions were in bad shape. Pros( in addition to the staff): clean facility and room with comfortable bathroom and kitchen, good TV. Surprisingly quiet and convenient location. Perfectly nice comp hot breakfast. Really nice, clean little pool helped us decompress. I would gladly return but request a renovated room.

I don't think I could have gotten more for my money. This is an older property so it's a little frayed in places, but the hardworking (yes, I watched them) staff keep it clean and tidy as possible. The hotel is in desperate need of updates. Floors, both carpet and laminate were filthy. The air conditioner was so loud you could not sleep. I had to ask for anything I needed, including cleaning the room. We stayed a month and they only came around twice to see what we needed. They had two fire drills, which we were not notified prior, which scared my doggie terribly. The pool was not open at all, due to “a crack in the concrete”. There is nowhere to sit outside. The landscaping is deplorable. The side door was left unlocked the entire time so anyone could walk in. The breakfast was rarely ready on time. They charged us $300 for my small dog to stay, which they did not have to clean up after inside or out. There is no refund for a reason, once we got here and saw the unacceptable state of this hotel, it was too late to leave. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, human or animal.

We stayed 7 days and never got the room cleaned, even though there was supposed to be housekeeping every other day. We asked twice to have the room cleaned and to get fresh towels: once the trash was dumped and we got towels, but the second time we were told no - we did get towels but were given a trash bag and told where to put our trash. I never imagined staying 7 days in a hotel and never getting fresh sheets or having the room cleaned. First and last time staying here.

My family and I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. We enjoyed the full kitchen because we could cook the groceries that we bought saving some money from constantly eating out. We were impressed with the variety and quality of options for their complimentary breakfast. The staff are all very helpful when we need to borrow things we suddwnly needed.
Their outdoor pool was closed but we were allowed to use the indoor pool of Fairfield Suites which is just a couple of minutes walk.

We had a fantastic stay and next time we go to Bloomington, we are definitely staying athe TownePlace again.

Hotel should be ashamed to gouge customers there to view the eclipse - charging $500/night for an outdated, shabby, raggedy room. Carpet in the room was stained in several places; sofa looked like it had been there for at least 2 decades; burners on stove were old and worn; furniture appeared to have come from a thrift shop. The hotel needs some serious upgrading and updating, especially if they're going to have the nerve to overprice to such a degree during special events.
On the plus side, 1) every employee we dealt with was exceptionally friendly & helpful; 2) breakfast was good; 3) parking was convenient; 4) hotel is well-located for getting/off interstate

We were given keys to the wrong room at check-in and walked in on another guest. We were asked if we would like housekeeping during our stay, but never actually received housekeeping during our 3-night stay. Two-bedroom suite for 4 guests was stocked with two sets of bath linens and 1.5 rolls of toilet paper. Kitchen had one set of mismatched utensils and little else. Carpet worn transitioning from kitchen tile to carpet with multiple exposed nails sticking up. Had to empty our own trash, repeatedly go to desk to get more linens. Weird paprika (??) smell throughout suite. Breakfast attendant was fantastic and accommodating. Everyone was friendly. Bed comfortable. Multiple restaurants in walking distance. Soda prices tripled in lobby.

I booked this property last minute as it had two bedrooms. The first room we were put in had an awful odor and we could not stay in it. We were put in a room that was dirty (food on floor, on the oven range). The carpets in the hallway and rooms were filthy, the pull out sofa was worn that we did not even attempt to open it. My 2 daughters and I slept in one bed and my husband and son slept in the other- defeated the purpose of having the space. The office staff was very friendly. Marriott needs to do some serious updates to this place. I will never stay here again. We had already prepaid and just slept there but were anxious to wake up and leave.

All staff members were extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We had a two-bedroom suite that was spacious and comfortable, with the exception of our second night during which the AC completely died. We let them know the next morning as we went out for the day and it was still not working at 4pm when we returned, but they very quickly remedied that situation and had a maintenance person in our room before we left the desk. It was fixed less than 30 minutes later. The free breakfast was listed as \"continental\" so we had low expectations but were pleasantly surprised Friday morning with additional hot offerings of sausage links, microwaved breakfast sandwiches (already heated), and mini quiche/egg bites. On Saturday we had other breakfast plans but stopped in to check things out and there were even more options over the weekend, with both bacon and sausage, scrambled eggs, and additional gluten free pastries. There was also a breakfast attendant present keeping everyone informed and happy. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean overall. The stovetop and burners seemed a little grimy and there were crumbs, but we didn't use it so it was easy to overlook. The housekeeping staff left a welcome note and some snacks on our arrival, but they didn't actually set foot in our room again during our stay. They provided 2 towels for 3 registered adults, but we went to the desk and they gave us more. Conveniently located among many shops and restaurants.

We were originally put into a room that reeked of cigarette smoke and other unidentifiable odors. When I went out to talk to the employees they were outside, ironically, smoking. Now, they did give us an identical room that did not smell of smoke, but the carpeting and condition of the furniture and doors, trim, walls was dirty and run down/worn. This property needs a major overhaul/deep cleaning at the very least. It is not a Marriott quality. The employees were all polite, but both being out together smoking cigs is inappropriate.

Both the front desk staff and the lady working the breakfast area were great! They were all very kind, helpful, and refreshing to deal with. I stay at a lot of hotels and you have some great people working at this location. It could use a little upkeep with the cleanliness and furniture. The elevator was super dirty with food and drink spilled in it and the couch and carpet in our room were ripped and the couch could use cleaned. Overall our stay was good. Thank you!

The Elevator did not work and the secondary outside door closest to my room did not work. In order to enter the hotel the door had to be left propped open or enter through the main entrance.

There was no maid service between nights and we had to re-use our towels and soap and shampoo were not restocked.

It is shocking that this property is considered a Marriott. We had no issues with the staff whatsoever, they were great. However, the facilities are in desperate need of investment and redoing. From the moss growing on the siding, missing paint and repairs needed outside, to the dirty and smelly interior - this place just needs an overhaul. The elevator was dirty, the floors have stains, breakfast is granola bars, muffins, or cereal. Our room smelled like wet dog, which isn’t surprising since pets are allowed. The pool was riddled with hair, bugs, and what appeared to be torn up tissue paper. All around just not a good place to stay. Avoid this one.

The first room had a horrible smell and bug stains on mattress. Requested to switch rooms. Second room the bed was clean still not a great smell but I could handle it. Even the hallways had a dirty smell and stains on the carpets. No blow dryer in bath, found out why after I requested one… the outlet in the bath didn’t work. Bathroom cabinets real worn out. Front desk person Tina was new and super kind to me. She was a huge help! I will be staying in Bloomington for possibly 3 months during the work weeks I was hoping to find a suite I could be comfortable in…. This isn’t it for business groups.

The room was set up stange with the tv facing away from the bed. Then the pipes started making noise (normally it would not bother me, but it got so loud). Then outside of our room the road noise was awful. At 3am my husband and I woke laughing because it got a little crazy having a new loud noise hourly. The next morning the power went out so we left early and came out to no breakfast. (I had hoped for some fruit or something)

The rooms, although “non-smoking”, smelled profusely of smoke. When we brought this to the attention of management, they simply stated all rooms were non-smoking and that if we didn’t like those rooms we probably wouldn’t like any of them. She then offered bottles of febreeze. The pullout sofa bed had dead insects and crumbs inside. The building was really old so the door knobs wouldn’t open properly and we struggled to get inside the rooms.

I was told I could not pay cash so I went and added money to one of my cards then pay for it on Hotels.com and then get back to hotel for them to tell me they don’t know what to tell me because I should have directly paid them instead of going thu hotels.com. The lady at front desk is very unprofessional and when I asked to speak with Manager I was told no because it was hard telling when the manager would be here. I have not had any issues up till today and having to deal with the woman at front desk which is not wearing a name tag for anyone to see her name and I can understand why now

We have been staying here at the town suites for 6 weeks and someone stoled 2 whole loads of laundry of our clothes from the “safe” laundry room, we have been overcharged, I have asked to speak to a manager numerous times about my laundry and some other issues, I am always told the message will get passed but never does or at least the manager never contacts me! We lost about 700.00 worth of clothes I guess we are just suppose to be ok with losing because they aren’t doing NOTHING to help us!

Housekeeping confusion?

The floors were not cleaned as well as expected. There was a sharp piece of plastic in the carpet that cut my foot while walking barefoot as soon as we arrived.
Secondly, the check out time was at Noon.

Housekeeping was banging on our door at 10am. When I opened the door she said, \"oh, you're fine, carry on. you have until noon, I was just hoping you were gone.\"

Otherwise, the bed was extremely comfortable and the front desk staff was very kind.
