I loved the buffet and how clean the hotel room always was! The air conditioning needs to be fixed because the condo I stayed in, only one room had a working AC; The events were limited on a weekday & I was referred back and forth between the events table and the lobby for information. The main pool was really hot day and night; the only pool that was fresh was the waterslide pool.

We got there and the hotel room they offered us had puddles in the floor dripping water from the ceiling. One of the puddles was over an inch deep. It wasn’t because the rain went through the door, no it was water, literally dripping from the ceiling. The plaster along with black mold was falling from the wall in the ceiling. The lights were flickering, and when the bellboy tried to tighten the lightbulb, it shocked him. An electrical short with puddles. We went along with them and on the third room, they offered us the toilet bowl had no toilet seat. The floor had puddles and the top bedroom light didn’t even turn on. Please do not expose your family to unsafe mold and electrical hazard.

We love Gran Festivall, we’ve stayed here many different occasions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are great, beach is wonderful. The rooms need to be updated, cleaned and just a little more love and attention. Bathrooms in common areas need to have lights especially if you’re using them at night it was so hard to use them without a light, we had to turn on the flashlight on our phone. A really nice hotel, the property just needs some touch ups and needs to be cleaner.

The hotel is located in a very large area that is across the road from the beach. Aside from that, everything else is less than pleasing. The facilities need to be updated asap. Our hotel room did not have a working AC for the top room which was the one that needed it the most. Ants were everywhere in all rooms, the bed was very hard and and everything was old. No microwave and no fridge. We will definitely not be coming back.

Friendly staff, all inclusive drinks and food all you any to consume.
Events for the guest all day long.
2 bedroom villas one is up stairs with very narrow stair way, not sure if you can get a big suitcase up there (or might be very hard to do so).

NO WIFI IN ROOMS, it states that on info but only wifi in lobby a nice wall to get there depending where your villa is.

You can visit the beach by crossing a bridge that belongs to resort only. But no umbrellas or chairs once you get to beach. They do have a bar next to beach for your drinks, and a restaurant that open certain hours at the beach.

Food:
Not the best for the price they can have better and tastier good. The best we had what beans and chips.

Pools are good, little old but nice and big.

Be ready for some walking resort is big.

Shows at great entertainment for the entire family.

Rooms were just disapointing, the airconditioner did not work and they took an entired day to fix it, and it did not cooled proper. One of the rooms showers only worked woth hot water and no cold water so it was just scolting to shower the kids their. Towels were just bad, room had lottle animals over all disapointed. Front desk staff were not helpful at all. And we good food poison, my mom and my self and 2 of my boys.

This place was a big disappointment for my family & it put a damper on our vacation. First of all, the rooms were disgusting to say the least. It is crumbling with a decor of the 70’s and not up to par. The sheets of the bed had a huge foot stain, the room smelled like mildew, the kitchen & bathrooms was gross & I paid 7 nights for this? I was not happy at all. The food was cheap & gross. The kids pool had a dirty diaper in the middle of the island so that did it for me. Need I say more? Oh, & if you go hang out at the pool once the sun goes down good luck with those mosquitos. They eat you alive.
I checked out the very next day. I made an excuse of an emergency since I did not want to get any type of compensation whatsoever but since it was a prepaid package through Expedia I was concerned about getting a refund but I was told it was up to the hotel. Well I spoke to the Manager at the front desk & told me that I would get a refund. Long story short, we had to cough up more money to stay at Barcelona which was a delight & up to my standards & I am writing this 4 months later & never got my money back of $600 . I lost all that money. I made numerous attempt to reconcile at least something but all that Expedia offered me was 20 lousy dollars. GTFO! I will never ever book with Expedia ever again. How dare you represent a crooked hotel to your customers. Please stay away from this dump. I would hate for you to waste your money like I did & I have pictures to prove it.

I really don’t recommend this resort to anyone. Poor maintenance, cheap food and drinks. The rooms are far away from the beach and pool ( they have only one pool 😖) the rooms are old., everything is old and the worst part they want to charge like a 5 start resort. This property was built in 1979. Not many upgrades since that era. The place looks very run down. The food is not very good and the drinks are horrible. The only good thing about this place was the friendly staff in the main dining room. We only stayed one night but it was one night too many!

This hotel has the best and anything that you need to have a nice family vacation. The only downside was that I encounter a big group from sedesol in the hotel too. They did not know how to behave. They smoke in restaurants, events etc. they were noisy and didn't show consideration for others.

Room had rusty fridge and stove sinks dont work toilets dont flush. A lot of cats during the day and racoons during the night. Food was the same everyday, beach “seafood” restaurant serving no seafood, we had to order seafood from another local restaurant, italian restaurant a total yuck it wasnt italian at all. Waterslides and archery closed 2 more restaurants closed.check in is at 4 so you basically pay a full day for less than half a day and to check out they push you out other wise they will charge you extra. Nothing like it was before

I have stayed on this hotel probably like 25 years ago and it was great! This time I wanted my kids to have the same experience as me when I was myself a child!. The first room they assigned to us was really rundown!!! Seemed they just keep patching things up as they broke... even different materials but the worse of all was the AC wasn't working at all.... tried to call front font lobby and the phone wasn't working.... the cable was broken. I was able to call from my own cell phone. They told me they will assign maintenance right away... well after 2.5 hours we were still sweating!!! I went to the lobby and after talking to several people they finally agreed to give us another room. In this new room the AC was working! What a relief! But still the room itself and everything in it seemed like from 25 years ago with no maintenance and patching things up. We found the same in almost all the facilities at this resort. On the high side, the food was good and the personel tried their best!

Founded this Hotel the cheap for all inclusive

In my personal opinion and because this Hotel is huge, when is crowded they must be established times to go to the buffet, because people doesn't find tables and make big lines to go in and also the access to the poor quality food, the crew working there doesn't have time for you because are really busy, the same for the pool or others areas. There are one Italian Restaurant, this is good and the waitress service are ok, but you need an appt. and make another big line to get that. The rooms are uncomfortables and need maintance, A/C didn't work.

The rooms are all falling apart. The beach side of the hotel should be upgraded, the hotel does not have enough umbrellas, not lounge chairs at all, so people can enjoy the beach side. The animation staff, wasn't helpful at all, I could said they are rude.

If you are looking for a good all inclusive resort in Manzanillio to relax and enjoy the beach, this is NOT your spot. The grounds are lovely but the rooms are very old and not updated at all. The bathroom was so small that 2 people could not be in there at the same time. The sink, toilet and shower were so stained that my boyfriend wouldn't even use them and I took a shower with my flip flops on. The all inclusive is questionable when there are times during the day when you can't get any real food. Lunch and dinner were primarily fish dishes with not a lot of other options. Drinks cannot be served until 10am and at only one side bar location with lines of kids waiting for their sodas as well. The highlight was the adult pool that is quiet and nice, the bar was so-so and the 3 cabanas were a nice touch, sort of (old and dingy linens on them). Sorry, I would not recommend this place at all.

Love this place but not for everybody

Stayed for a week in mid-March. Family of 5. all the kids have their own bed, which is amazing considering the price. We were here 7 years ago when it was club Maeva and it hasn't changed much. There are tons of things to love about this place but it does require you to accept some of its flaws.
The staff are fantastic. very welcoming. Most spoke very little English. Some none, a handful totally fluent, most in between. Most guests are Mexican. We spent a couple of weeks dusting off our high school Spanish from the 1980's, and we think that the staff really appreciated that. But All it really takes is a willingness to speak clear, simple English, and use a little charades when necessary. In a few cases a staff member would enlist help from one with more English.

The beach is fantastic. Come early (8:30-9:00) for an umbrella and chairs. Big fun waves. Do be careful though - there can be a riptide. You njuhyyyyuwill need to shoo away at least one vendor a minute but \"no gracias\" is all u need.

Food - a mix of awesome choices and weird/not so good things. Beach restaurant and Confetti were faves. Waiters & bartenders mostly spoke English. Great drinks - take or buy a big cup.

Clean rooms. Plumbing marginal. Great tennis courts and flat tennis balls. ziplines fun but need to be 14 for the big one. Zip line guys seemed annoyed to have to do their jobs. Love the water slides.
More to say but max characters.

I had seen reviews that were not that promising for this resort, but had also heard good things from people so I decided to try it out. To tell the truth is was quite disappointing. I had reserved a 2 room villa and once we arrived I was given 2 separate rooms but close to one another so that wasn't so bad. But the rooms need a lot of TLC. The a/c units did not work (I went Feb. and was hot. Cannot imagine going when its hotter!) I was traveling with my parents which are both disabled and they could not us the pool since there were no steps and it was all over 5Ft deep on one end and over 6Ft deep on the other end. The food and drinks at the buffet was good compared other all-inclusive resorts I have stayed at, but also needs some improvements to be made.

Room was not ready till a hour after check in, the rooms are all torn down and all need serious maintence and renovation, the first room i went to did not have a shower curtain either, and i had to wait two hours for one, and once i got it i was expected to put it on myself, toilet stopped flushing after an hour and supervisor would not give me a room change because they were so called sold out in low peak season, after calling night staff i was given a room change looks like they hired the laziest supervisor in all of Mexico. Upon recieving my room change the balcony doors did not work and the cieling in the kitchen was dripping. This hotel wont last another 5 Years.

Not as expected

overall was not very satisfied with this hotel. Choose this hotel for the kids activities. And they were all closed the whole visit. It would have been nice if the hotel would have contact us to re book. Reservations were for two kids and adults. Also the one room up stairs the air conditioner didn't work. They also gave us the furthest room away from restaurants and pools. With the kids it was hard.Ask to which and they were rude about it and told us no.

Manzanillo get away

it was great,we had a great time, the only thing the food was good but it could be a little better. staff was outstanding, Hotel was a lil old and run down but still had a great appeal, great location. Manzanillo was fun. we really enjoyed our stay.

Great Hotel for the price

This is the second visit to this resort. The first time it was called Club Maeva. The resort has not changed too much. Appears to be a little better run and some upgrades have been done. Staff was very nice, but English was a little limited. The primary reason we chose this resort was the large rooms for the price. Rooms are fairly old, but very spacious. Good for a larger family or if you want a separate room from the kids. Note: The floors are all tile and very slippery when wet.

If you go into the trip understanding that this is a resort that caters to Mexican families and does not have the quality standards of the US resorts, you will not be disappointed. The resort is still nice and clean and the staff are friendly. The resort is also very spread out, so there is a lot of walking and hills/steps. This is good if you want to work off your food/drinks, but is more difficult if you are disabled or have small kids (with strollers). The food selection is not as great as other all-inclusives, but it is good and no problems with quality/sickness.

In summary, the resort is a little dated and not as comprehensive as other all inclusives, but the price is significantly lower. If you value getting to a warm destination and having some space in your room at a low price, I would highly recommend Gran Festivall. If you expect a US style hotel experience and are willing to pay for it, this is not a place for you.
