GREAT BREAKFAST AND STAFF! Such a good location for tourists as it's in the heart of a bunch of attractions and steps away from the train to go to further locations. The staff were amazing, went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. Would definitely go back to the same hotel next time.

Really pretty bad. We had reasonable expectations but this was disgusting. I don't know for sure but I think they may have been overbooked and put us in a room under construction. The bathroom was repulsive. Black mold everywhere. We slept there the first night and when we went to shower the water was pouring directly out on the floor. We called the front desk and they said they would give us a new room later. But we wanted to shower before heading out. They found a room someone had checked out of and we stayed there for the next night. It was an updated room but far from luxury. A little cleaner but I would NOT stay there again.

Location is great - walking distance to main attractions.

The hotel itself is incredibly dated and is in serious need of being renovated. Anyone with asthma or a dust allergy would struggle.

The hotel staff are nice and helpful- no complaints there.

It's a shame, as location and staff were great. However based on the hotel itself i would not recommend.

Pros- nice location, room was clean, breakfast was decent, stuff helpful.
Cons- hotel itself is very outdated. Big part of the Lobby room is dark and filled with stuff. Hotel has an access to the roof with an incredible view, but it is not in use for anything. Needed an iron, got it only on the second day. Water in the shower was not draining.
And it is on the street with restaurants, so every night it was very laud from outside till 1-2am.
I probably won’t stay here again unless there will be some renovations.

The hotel is very central and within walking distance to the tram, shopping and restaurants. The front desk is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was also good. Hotel, though, needs an upgrade with new carpets and room decor as well as reception area. Else a wonderful stay at the hotel.

Absolutely terrible experience. The room was full of mold and musty wooden smell. It triggered my Asthma. Very small and congested room. The bathroom was not so clean. Had trouble with hot and cold shower. The breakfast was below average for the price. The only positive thing is that it's 7 minutes walk from Sirkeci Marmaray station. I stayed there for only one night

I was not happy for the stay and I will not pick this hotel again. Overall, my enthusiasm about this hotel when I booked returned to disappointment.
There were just a few good things: I liked the respect, professionalism and helpfulness of employees especially cleaning staff, breakfast workers and bell boy (I think his name is Cengiz) who helped me many times. I like the breakfast bar, variety and quality of items and cleanliness of the area.
On the other hand; there are many negative issues. The hotel needs a good and thorough renovation. Lobby and lounge are dark and dirty. Pool was closed. There was a water and sewer problem. Linens are clean but old. I had to change the room since the first one had drainage problem and a/c was not working. You cannot open the windows since there is no screen on the windows.
Staff were helpful to offer a better (!) room and helped me to move. However, the next room also had issues; the safe deposit box was out of order (it's fixed immediately when I informed), and shower also had a slow drain.
I will not stay in this hotel in my next trip unless all those issues are fixed.

The hotel has a wonderful location. It is within a five-minute walk to the beautiful Gilhane Park with the Topcapi palace and the Istanbul Archeological Museum. The rooms are quite small but comfy. Our room had a tiny balcony which is not always a case for other hotels in the area. The room service was great! It was convenient to have breakfast included in our stay but there should be more variety of food options included in the meal. Hopefully, this will change with the end of the pandemic. Otherwise, we have enjoyed our stay there and would recommend the hotel to others.

This looks like a slightly old hotel, like from 1990's, but the room was very modern. I stayed at Hotel Sapphire for 2 nights at first, then decided to stay 5 more nights. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Staff was very professional and helpful. PCR test was 250 TL and arranged really well, and got results same day after 8pm. Breakfast was not buffet but half pre-packaged and other half of eggs cooked any way you like.

Our staying in Istanbul was ever more wonderful since we were at Hotel Saphire, with lavishing breakfast,cool swimming pool and the complete staff - from receptionists, waiters, cleaning people. Hotel is near great traditional food places and walking distance to the Galata bridge. At the hotel we were offered an airport shuttle which was affordable and lovely. Definitely coming back!

Amazing value as long as you pay less than $50.

The place is very near the tram station and its maybe 3 blocks from it. Breakfast is very nice and a decent variety of food is available. There is a live looking station that makes eggs of your choice. The pool is the basement is heated . there is a sauna which is very clean and so is the Turkish bath (self service and free) . restaurant across the narrow alley is open late and staff is friendly. Neighborhood is very safe. Hotel might charge for water in the mini bar even though you don't use it (which is like 25cents ) so not a big deal. Staff is extremely helpful , pleasant, friendly and a few staff members speak adequate English. Internet is so-so. Tv chanels are all Turkish. From airport nearest Havaist (bus) stop is Eminunu. Go to basement to buy bus card and it takes 45 min to bus stop. Hotel is 1 km (1/2 mile) from bus stop.

We had a good stay at the Sapphire hotel .The staff were very helpful although I was a bit disappointed in the room, it didn't look as inviting as the photos on the website. It was very cramped with three beds for two people, A table was in the way so we put it on top of the spare bed, the curtains didn't close properly, the bed was stained.
On the good side it was a great breakfast with plenty to choose from ,it was nice to have a sauna and a swim after busy days taking in the sights of Istanbul.

A real gem of an hotel!

This was our 5th visit to Istanbul and our 2nd to the Sapphire. I didn't think it could get better, but it surpassed our expectations! We received a truly warm welcome and exceptional service. The breakfast is ridiculously varied and delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent hotel service and great location in terms of the main attractions in Istanbul. Although the room might be a little small and its decorations a bit dated, it still offers cosiness with comfortable beds and clean toilets. Hotel breakfast was also adequately widespread. The pool might be small due to the the space constraints but still offer enough for a quick swim. Overall a great place to stay in Istanbul and will definitely return if I need to. Huge kudos to the staff service too!!!

Great location. Stayed here many times before but this time I booked a twin room as traveling with my son and there was a third bed making the space very tight. No drinking water and only a couple of tea bags.
I had a problem with taxi from hotel, I booked return trip from the airport with Murat Turizm and they didn’t show up, each time we called they said they would be there in 15 mins. It meant we had a crazy rush to the airport and had to pay again for our transport.
it spoiled a short trip and I would suggest not paying taxis for return journeys in advance.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sapphire in Istanbul! It was in the heart of old town within easy walking distance of Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Blue Bosque, Aya Sofia as well as a multitude of restaurants and shops.

The front desk staff were extremely helpful and customer service was excellent. The hotel is dated and a bit worn, but a very good value for our money considering the excellent location. it had a charming atmosphere that felt more like a boutique hotel and authentically \"Istanbul\" which is what we love when we travel. The breakfast was great---though it was repetitive every morning there is so much to choose from and we did not get sick of it.

We stayed for 5 days and would for sure stay here again! You must eat at the Hatay restaurant just across down the street---we ate here 3 times during our stay and it was the best Turkish food in Istanbul we tried for a good price! try their Shisha/Hookah as well.

Lovely mid-range hotel in ideal location

I stayed here for three nights with friends (total of three rooms), after staying there on my own a couple of years ago.
I can warmly recommend this hotel for people looking for mid-range accommodation in a great location. Service, cleanliness, friendliness and so on are all very good. The breakfast is amazing and will save many visitors the need to buy lunch...
One of our three rooms was distinctly smaller than the others, so if that's important to you, ask if you can have one of the normal-sized rooms, which aren't huge but are perfectly fine IMHO.

Very clean and nice hotel, our room had good size and it was really clean with spacious shower. The jacuzzi, indoor pool the sauna were incredibly enjoyable and free of charge. The hotel is away walking distance to the attractions like Sultan ahmed mosque, hagia sofia etc..and very close to the Serkici station and Gulhane station. Very friendly staff Mr Denise did a great job in recommending places to visit and Ahmad the night auditor was professional and great. Shower amenities were provided everyday and the towels were replaced frequently. Simply it felt like home.

We’ve stayed at hotel Sapphire for a week in January 2018 and had a wonderful time. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating: we were greeted every morning by the front desk staff and given suggestions and directions for attractions and restaurants. The breakfast that was included with our room reservation was beyond any expectation: there were at least 30 different food varieties including many fresh fruits and vegetables to start a day. Our room was a little small, but pretty comfortable and included a small fridge.
Overall we had a very pleasant experience staying here and would happily recommend this hotel to everyone.

The hotel room I had was good value for money. It was better room than it actually looked in the pictures. Daily housekeeping was good and the room was kept clean and topped up with the toiletries. Breakfast was included and it was good. Toilet was clean,shower was good. WiFi is not good specially at night time but I think when all the guests are back in their rooms using it. Room temperature was really warm with the central heating and from the room controls you can not do much about it. Overall it is a good bargain hotel. I will stay here again if I traveled to Istanbul again.

When booking the same hotel twice - this should be enough to get a good impression that I was happy....
This hotel is very well located, but stood out, the staff is very nice, the breakfast is included and very generous. There is an indoor pool, the room small and cozy and my bathroom very clean and brand new. I enjoyed most the small tea selection in my room, that i could open the window and enjoy the great view, and that all major sights are easy to reach by tramway or even in walking distance. There is wifi, room safe, mini bar, and a real turkish carpet :-).

If you are traveling on a medium budget this is a wonderful choice.
