This is the best place to stay in Dar if you are traveling alone as a solo female traveler.The place is convenient and clean.Near the airport and the Zanzibar ferry terminal.They are very intentional on security I felt so safe sleeping at this place as a young woman traveling alone.They also safely kept my bags when I went to Zanzibar until I came back.The staff are very polite and helpful.The place is really quite and yet it is in the middle of town .It gives you the ultimate rest environment.I wish they served breakfast however there are so many restaurants near by so you can easily find things to eat.This will definitely be my go to place when I am in Dar.Highly recommend

The staff and location of the property were great! It is located right in the heart of the city with plenty of restaurants, shops, malls and the ferry nearby. I will also add that they had good cable with good mixture of stations and options for viewing.

Also, one huge disappointment is they do not have a restaurant on sight, you are provided with takeout menus from nearby restaurants for delivery, a huge inconvenience.

the hotel entrance is like the back of a building loading bay...the surrounded by abandoned or reconstructed buildings.... are povety stricken and full of beggars half the staff were scruffy an stink frouzy uniforms to small and un ironed ...the interior was of quality but empty it had no holiday welcom or feeling ...my room was of gud clean standard but smelt damp like a rotten fridge ...which was because (all electrcaly powered equipment turns on and off by a key card that is activated by openingg and closing the door or yur room door) ...the room not being used and the fridge being off created a mouldy smell...no drinking no smoking no music an no guest after 8pm (unless yu pay an extra fee of 34,000 tanzania)....IT WAS LIKE GOING TO JAIL.....i went the to be with my girlfriend they told me she has to pay to stay or come in my room...We got married something good did come out of it...but on my last day the evening i am to leave my girlfriend now my wife an her father came up to help me pack an see me off .. my deparure from the hotel was to be at 11.30pm because my departure flight from der es salaam which is in tanzania was schedualed for 3.00am....they charged me another 34.000 tanzania....for waiting to go with me to the airport....Ater reviewing my bank statements as toward my expenditure (waisted finance) I will decide if i shud make a formal complaint or not ....as far as recomending expedia to anyone else.....i doubt that very much. SORRY TO SAY

Reasonable price, especially for Dar. Easily walkable to Zanzibar ferry terminal, even with luggage. Rooms are functional, it was nice having a kettle, toaster and microwave, but quite stark don't have a feeling of comfort. ATMs and supermarkets close by. Felt safe and there is security at the door. Bathroom facilities good, but bathrooms rely on mechanical ventilation which only works when the light is switched on, so sometimes smell musty and the tile grout is blacker than it should be. Air conditioning in the rooms is very loud and also smells musty, and in one room water started raining out of the unit in the middle of the night. Other little things like the safe batteries being flat when I first got to room and toilet flush not automatically turning off suggest some maintenance issues. Hotel is incredibly overstaffed, two porters will be sent to do a job one could do, presumably so everyone gets a tip. Suggest also asking for a room that doesn't face the adjacent Mosque if you prefer not to be woken early (windows are not double glazed and the call is very loud). Room service consists of ordering from nearby restaurants and getting it delivered to your room.

Hotel cheekily charged us $20 extra per night to accommodate both my daughter and myself (in a \"better room\") despite us both being on the booking, including daughter's age. Otherwise, quite good comfort wise. Some odd features (breakfast room waterfall), but trying to be an above average place.. Good street food in vicinity and near to port and Kilimanjaro line bus office.

I chose tanzanite because of the good reputation and service . The room was excellent and facilities were great however some of the staff attitudes was appalling in particular a mr Gopi. It felt guests were untrusted. I had booked additional facilities ie transfer etc and this was confirmed by email I could settle on departure. I was constantly bombarded with calls. On one occasion my sister was unwell so I went to the restaurant and asked if I could a small piece of cake and juice for her to the room. A number of people had to be consulted. For what I don’t understand. For goodness sake my breakfast was paid for. So what was the big deal about. Guests should be made to feel welcome and trusted. No wonder occupancy has reduced greatly over the last few months.

I would highly recommend this hotel. I am a simple gal and usually stay at simple places- I don't need a fancy place. Kind of by accident , I booked this one and it was very nice. Clean, friendly, welcoming staff, huge breakfast buffet, It is about a 10 minute walk to ferry if going to Zanzibar and I used them twice for hotel shuttle and it was timely and efficient. Price is affordable for what you are getting. Like that they have actual computers to use in lobby. I know most people can get internet e mail on their phone but I am not able to so used this a lot

Also found a Kerala food joint called Green Chilly serving authentic and superb food on the same street. All other places are all nearby. Taxis outside the hotels have friendly drivers, but bargain heavily and they reduce prices drastically.

Family of 4 stayed there twice. Professional and courtesy services. Issues were immediately tended to and 24/7 reception services. The breakfast was basic with not a lot of meat options. Located very close to busstation and the ferry to Zanzibar (walking distance). Still in an 'up-and-coming' neighbourhood and although we at no point felt unsafe. Don't expect a room with a view but you'll get excellent Wifi and TV viewing options.
