The room was neat and tidy when we checked in. But we were surprised to learn there was no housekeeping offered as we had to ask for fresh towels and toilet paper. We brought our own bar soap.
Staff was professional, courteous and supportive. Stellar customer service by Cindy who got us our Uber rides to Din Tai Fung as well as our ride to the airport. Bob was helpful as well when we checked in on our first day.

Bed was average, too soft for us. Location was great- near Taipei station. However, our flight was early at 0825 hrs and therefore, we have to take a transport to the airport. The airport rail only operates at 0600hrs and we needed to check in at 0600hrs. However, hotel relax was excellent in arranging for our transport.

3. Great towels--fluffy, clean, new.
4. Japanese style toilet, new and clean-looking with bidet, etc.
5. Breakfast stalls - just go out of the hotel, turn left, go just a few meters down the street.
6. On the 10th and 11th floors of a high rise. First two floors are McDonalds and a sushi restaurant called Sushiro, so additional food options there without even leaving the building.
7. Didn't notice any noise through the walls from neighbours.

1. Room / corridor / lobby areas smell--although we quickly got used to it and it didn't bother us past the first day.

I was disappointed that the room is not clean daily even when i asked the front dssk for room cleaning. For 4 nights stay, the room was scheduled to be cleaned only 1 time as i was told

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the lobby on the 11th floor offered a lovely view along with complimentary water, coffee, and tea.
After checking out, my parents were able to rest in the lobby for two hours, which was a great convenience. Highly recommend for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent service.

Property not as advertised. First this is not really a hotel but an inn. It occupies two floors in a Commercial building with two or three other “inns,” a medical clinic, and a Japan tourism company. Had I known this property was an inn, I would have never booked. I will say the highlight and saving grace for this accommodation is the location. It’s very convenient and less than half a block away from the Main Taipei Station. Plenty of restaurants and shopping steps away. McDonald’s is on the first floor of the adjacent building.
Now to discuss the room. There were obvious foundation issues as there were several long cracks on the ceilings. The bathroom had mold and in bad shape. Water would leak when showering even with the door closed. There is also a large step about 10 inches high to enter the bathroom. Definitely a trip hazard.
The room amenities were very minimal. No lotion, hair conditioner, and only a small above the fridge to hang your clothes. We ran out of toilet paper every other day and had to request more from the front desk. I also didn’t have enough towels and when I asked for two more body towels, the staff made a big deal about providing additional towels and wrote down the extra they gave me. Seems inventory is a very big deal to them. No iron in the room and had to borrow from front desk and was told there is only one steamer for the entire hotel so I needed to return in a few hours.
If you’re from the States, this place is equivalent to Motel 6.

The location and the professionalism of the staff are the keys of the higher scorebfor this property. It takes only few minutes walk from the underground mall Z6 exit. The reception and housekeeping staff are friendly, informative, patient, and courtesy. The only draw back is the room is small and dated. It's dued to be updated to increase the value to mirror the good location.

I booked two rooms, one for my two boys and one for me and my husband. My boys room was perfectly fine. However, my room was smelly and air conditioner was loud. I love this hotel because the rooms were much big compared to nearby hotels. I don’t like the smell in the reception area.

Overall Cleanliness could be improved. Bathroom always smells bad like sewage due to lots of mold near the toilet and in the shower. Wifi is weak, slow and spotty. Bed is very springy and soft so it was not the comfiest. Lots of shops around the hotel which made it convenient. I also liked that the hotel had good amenities.

The rooms were filled with foul smell, pillows with blood stains, floor mats with stains and shower rooms and corners were stuck with dust and spiderwebs. I have photos of the above mentioned and will post a Google and trip advisor review on this.

(Meaning she wants me to take back the blood stained pillow?) when I refused and told her (nicely still) that please assist to change out this pillow, she looked at it and asked if this was actually already used (by me) as the outer cover looked dirty.
I replied that I have only checked in today and I am still dressed in the same outfit that i wore during check in, and I have just returned back to the hotel and yet to shower and lie on the bed.

For many years this is always the first choice hotel to stay for our Taiwan trip. After 3 years of lockdown, although some amenities is old but them have maintained it well that make your stay comfortable. We enjoy our stay.

Actually, Hotel Relax is just on same level as an Inn. NOT RECOMMENDABLE for the following reasons
1. Overrated reviews for a room that is of poor quality
2. Rooms' wall is thin so you can hear people talking or walking along corridors
3 poorly ventilated rooms, air inside smells bad.
4. Poor lightings, rooms are dim
5. Aircondition is not well and properly maintained

The service by the counter staff is awesome. They are able to accede to all of our request. The hotel also provides the service where we can order most of the Taiwan famous souvenirs (food) via a simple order form. Just pay at the counter, and we collect our order at the counter within 24 hours, all nicely packed. Room is very clean, although the toilet bowl area will become very wet and slipper after shower. Location is very convenient. Well done! Hotel Relax!

Very overly rated hotel. Cleanliness is lousy. Bathroom is mouldy and dirty. I suppose the black gold theme of the hotel is camouflage the mould n grime. Hotel breakfast has to walk across and the restaurant is basement level. You could tell that the kitchen staff and service staff are unhappy (they are not rude but you could feel the negative vibes) preparing and serving because the food are not appealing n appetising at all. Whole cafeteria has a musky smell.

The hotel itself was located in a shared building however the plus point is that it is on the top floor (10 & 11)
The hotel staff was very friendly providing excellent service without requesting. She even provided a room upgrade which had additional bed, bigger room space and bar snacks. Other extra service that they provided was Taiwan souvenir delivered to hotel, i bought the pineapple cake.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was very convenient. We like the hotel itself, but the entrance (Relax 1) was not so nice--we had to wait and ride the elevator through a bunch of business to get in and out, which often took a long time. The bathroom leaked a bit, and the AC was too cold, but we can't make adjustment (broken?)

You have to deposit $1000 NT first before you check in and is compulsory to do so if not they won't let you proceed. And the $1000 TWD won't be returning back, its like a waste of our money to do so. we paid everything for it before we step into the hotel but still need to pay extra money again before we stay. Hotel cleanliness is bad, the toilet is dirty and room is kind of dusty too. room type is not given as what i have seen in the pic/website, not recommend to stay in this hotel as there is still other better/cheap hotel out there in taipei.

Stayed at the family room of Hotel Relax 1 for 3 nights in June. Room is clean and spacious. Like that it has an automated bidet and its non carpeted. However would be good if they provide a wardrobe instead of only hangers above the minibar area. Staff is helpful but could do with more smiles. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Very close to Taipei City Center, malls and MRT. We were staying at Relax 1 and for breakfast we had to go to Relax 2 ie it is not in the same building.

Modern bathroom with heated toilet seat, no bad smells. I used the washer and dryer, cost 50 NT each machine. Safe, kettle, hair dryer, fridge, water, breakfast, coffee, snacks all provided. Even provided emergency printing and scanning service which I truly appreciated. Thank you Relax 1!

Excellent location close to trains, airport MRT and bus depot. Food galore and TONS of shopping. Real Taiwanese experience in this area. Staff were great, English spoken by all. Very hospitable and pleasant. Room clean and spacious with good air quality. They will keep your luggage for free for 7 days if you are visiting other parts of Taiwan. Just avoid elevator after school as students arrive for their cram school sessions on the lower floors.

Upon entering room 1023, dark mold can been visibly seen on the fiber made yellow walls. And the room had a strong foul smell, not sure if it has to do with the mold. Upon my request, I was changed to room 1113 and a strong deodorant smell in the room.

Hotel is located approximately 5 minutes from Taoyuan MRT and Taipei Main Station MRT. It is located strategically within minutes of many restaurants, convenience store and large departmental store.
The room was very large and clean with basic amenities provided such as mineral water, mini refrigerator and a small safe deposit box. Breakfast and coffee is provided at their Hotel Relax 2 and 3 respectively which is about 2 mins walk. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.

While the staff was friendly and helpful and check-in/out processes smoothly handled, the property itself was not great. It occupies the top 2 floors of a multi-use building that's shared by 3 other hotels and prep-schools, so there are always non-hotel guests in the elevator. Seems like a big security risk as it's easy for strangers to follow you to your room. The room itself smelled musty and was terribly humid, especially after a shower. The bidet toilet was a nice touch, as was the quietness of the rooms, despite being in a busy area across from a major department store and close to Taipei main station. There are plenty of food stalls in the neighborhood, so I'd recommend skipping the bad breakfast and grab something cheaper and more freshly prepared nearby.
