The room was beautiful and clean, the staff was great, however the patio door was open when I arrived, and there were a lot of mosquitoes in the night, It was difficult to sleep because of that. There are a lot of plants In the property, and those doors should always be closed, they should have automatic door closers for that or something similar, those are cheap and super easy to install.

I’ve been staying for over 4yrs. Every time I come to GDL this is the place to stay. Unfortunately, the place hasn’t been kept up to date. The walls are falling apart, mold everywhere in the room, the smell of sewage comes out of the toilet, some lights don’t work, etc. if the website allows me I will post pictures.

This was the last time staying here. It’s a shame. I love d this place but unfortunately will never stay here in the future.

Brown colored water came out of the shower and sinks that smelled extremely bad. The water was like this my entire stay. It smelled so bad I had to skip taking showers or take showers at another place nearby. The water in their storage cistern is extremely contaminated and the staff never rectified the issue.

This property is super cute. The bungalow had a mini fridge and an induction burner but nothing to cook with not even dishes or utensils which was odd. You can walk over to the main hotel if you want to use the pool. Our biggest complaint was that it took 40 minutes to get our car when we checked out. We were going straight to the airport and this really ate into our extra time so we were really stressed. Also I'm not sure if we were supposed to leave our key at the front desk. It was not mentioned when we arrived but then when we came back a different person tried to get our key from a filing cabinet so we were pretty confused. Bed was super comfortable & overall a great place to stay for the price.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the staff who made checking in an absolute breeze. The bungalow itself is absolutely stunning!! My room was spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, offering a peaceful night's sleep after a long day of sightseeing.

I especially loved the on-site cafe/bakery with delicious food and an inviting atmosphere. The hotel’s location was ideal, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the main attractions.

The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request. It truly felt like a home away from home. I can't wait to visit again

We have stayed here often. Sadly at 8am a gas truck pulled up to service the hotel, blowing diesel fumes directly into our room for a half hour.
There never seemed to be anyone at the front desk.
There were no glasses or kitchen supplies of any kind in our kitchen.
The coffee shop/restaurant in the building never opened.
I don’t know… everything just seemed a bit sad.

I’ve stayed here multiple times and my main reason to choose this hotel is the proximity to my office. The bungalows are really convenient and you get a mini apartment for the price of a room which is quite neat but I find the condition of the property deteriorating with every visit. I hope they address that one nagging problem.

An Old World Mexico Charm

We had an amazing stay at Demetria. The units we stayed in was dark as the walls were black and grey, but the stay was comfortable. Our bungalow was spacious, as clean as it could be given that it was a tropical setting filled with plants and lots of birds. We loved how quiet and soothing the property was. I would definitely stay here again. I feel that anyone giving bad reviews has expectations of a very American \"holiday inn\" experience. This is not it. This is old world Mexico done very well.

We booked through Orbitz, after talking to the hotel staff and being advised to do so. The information on Orbitz about rooms is inaccurate: photos depict a category of room incorrectly. As a result, we booked the largest room on Orbitz, only to find that none was available when we arrived at the hotel. We had to settle for a lesser room. Very unhappy about that!

I stayed here on a busy Saturday night. Pride Fest was going on which was awesome & I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced it was. The check in process was super easy, the desk agent was super sweet & efficient. The room itself was absolutely beautiful, we loved how spacious it was and especially loved the balcony & separate living room and bedroom. The only thing was that when we went to take a shower the water smelled so incredibly awful that it didn’t even feel like we showered. Other than that…. It was incredible!

Nice property with tasteful décor and good layout little bungalows. Well-run with an attentive and friendly staff; Azúcena and Carlos at the front desk always do their best to make my stay more pleasant. The only downside during all my stays at this property ,since there is limited cleaning staff the room cleaning always takes to long to be done. Mariana and Gael definitely need more help.
Overall a very enjoyable stay excellent staff at a clean well-appointed property.
As long as Azúcena and Carlos works here I will definitely keep coming back.

To sum up the disappointments:
1) The bathtub couldn’t drain, so you end your shower standing in grey water.
2) Not clean; piles of long red hair clinging to all points of the chair/setee, and there was a make-up brush and a sort of post-use container lying on a chair. (If you miss things that big, how good could the cleaning be?)
3) The windows (filthy) had no screens, so I had mosquitos to battle in February.
4) Towels were frayed to the point of having no hems, with long strings of threads hanging off them. Shabby chic?
5) The bathroom stunk of what I first thought was sewage, but I came to believe it was sulphur I smelled. This suggests there was no filter or softener in the water system.
6) Cockroaches made a pilgrimage to die in the bathroom.
7) No means to make coffee in the room, when I asked for a kettle, I was offered a filthy Mr Coffee maker, and told I would have to wash it.
8) No coat hangers in the closet.
9) There’s an apartment above the room I stayed in, and I could hear every step of the upstairs residents high heels when she wore them. It was like living in a drum.
10) No instructions for programming the safe, and no way I could figure out to make the TV work.
11) The unit faced the street so I was always waking up to street noise, even though the windows were closed for the mosquitos.
12) The magazines artfully displayed were from October 2018 and Summer 2021.
On the plus side, the staff at the front were all helpful friendly and courteous

What a quaint little gem of a place this is in a sleepy but glamorous part of the city. Many restaurants and places of interests are just a few minutes walk away. It was nice to be able to use the amenities from the Hotel tower which is only around the corner block. The casitas are gorgeously stylish and had most of the essentials; except a coffee maker for me. But there’s a really cute cafe right upfront. The staff were amazing and answered all my questions and addressed concerns. I will highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The bungalow was extremely comfortable, quiet, and nicely decorated. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable. The shower had the best water pressure I've experienced in a hotel in Mexoco.

Guests at the Bungalows can use the well-appointed gym at the Demetria Hotel, which is a few minutes walk away.

The Demetria Hotel restaurant is absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend the ensalada de espinaca, pescado zarandeado, and pescado en salsa de esparrages.

The architecture of the bungalows is enhanced by the contrasting modern furniture and art work.

The Demetria Hotel architecture and decor is masterful and extremely comfortable.

We enjoyed our long weekend at the lovely Demetria Bungalows. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to hotel room for a short stay, but not if you are looking for an aparthotel for a longer stay. Note that the kitchenette has only a stovetop and mini fridge, but no microwave, coffee pot, cookware, dishwater, coffee mugs, etc. We wanted to heat up water for tea and be able to have coffee in the morning, however the hotel does not have any coffee/tea mugs that they could provide us. We also wanted to be able to have our cereal in the morning and asked if we could have a couple bowls and spoons. They brought us one bowl and one spoon for us to share and that we had to sign a sign-out sheet for. We also requested a hairdryer while there that we were required to sign out. They also do not provide filtered water as many aparthotels do, but there is a 7-11 around the corner where you can buy your own. Despite the lack of these amenities, we were pleased with the location of the hotel and how quiet it was. We also enjoyed the complimentary use of the sauna over at the Hotel Demetria, which is a block and a half away. There is also an outstanding cafe located next door to the lobby that we had breakfast at a couple of times, which we highly recommend!

Excellent, large, and unique room, super-comfortable bed with modern bedding, great neighborhood with lots of the best coffee shops, cocktail bars and restaurants, quiet inside the room for sleeping at night. The staff was very friendly. They always greeted me with a big smile particularly Apple. The location is great - not too far from Bangla Road and just across the street from Patong Beach. Also, Paradise and Freedom beaches are very close by taxi. There’s also a 7 Eleven and Family Mart a couple of doors down the street along with Rustic (excellent restaurant) and a massage place (Ayatana?). I opted for the suite. I love how spacious it is. I’ve been here twice and have made a reservation for the Christmas holidays. My only complaint is the security guard that works at night told my female guest in front of me that I had other female guests! I was horrified and embarassed!

Aesthetically awesome in Lafayette, Guadalajara

Architecture and design make the bungalows a great place to stay. If you are standing in the glass and black tile shower while the nearby church bells ring you will experience and “ sound bath “ worthy of any yoga retreat. The neighborhood seems very safe and full of restaurants and bars.... nice little restaurant is attached to the bungalows and there’s is Foxworthy coffee down the street. Hotel Demetria, just 2 blocks away is also a good choice, plus you can use the beautiful deck and pool. Only downside to the bungalows is that the rooms are dark and the lighting is dim, except for tv/ work area. Geraldine was particularly helpful but every staff person was very nice. I would say Bungalows aren’t exactly kid friendly because of so much glass and art, but it depends on individual maturity:) Thus hotel gives you a WOW art experience of Guadalajara in the late 30s and beyond. I find it irresistible.

This place is well situated in a nice part of Guadalajara. Unfortunately, our bathroom had not been well cleaned, as their was some form of insect/bug under the bathroom sink. Also, the patio table was dusty, so not sure who is in charge of cleaning the room's patio as they did not make an effort at all to make it presentable. Finally, we are supposed to have access to the pool at the Demetria hotel. The day we were there, Heineken had an event on the rooftop and they made us wait for over one (1) hour before we could access the rooftop though we were guests at the Bungalows. I would only stay here again if the hotel was cleaner and they allowed guests to use the pool facilities or at least make it up if they can't fulfill that amenity.

Love this place!

Absolutely a great place to stay! Have stayed in the Bungalows before and hope to return soon. It's a quiet retreat in the city with superb accommodations and staff. Access to the Demetria Hotel is an added bonus with its amazing art installations, restaurant and pool!
