The accessible room I had was basic but in need of some attention, in my opinion. It was not the best location likely due to price-point (with view of a roof and parking lot).

The bed was comfortable but the pillows were much too thick and super firm … not good for the neck!

There was no place to plug in newer model phone charger cord without unplugging the bedside clock/radio (USB only ports only).

The coffee pot was unplugged so I had to move a big desk to access the electric outlet on the wall (or crawl under the table!). PS: that powered (chemical) creamer is horrible!

The window shade pull cord was difficult to operate in both directions.

I know these are a lot of complaints, but for the price of rooms these days …Mama Mia!

On a positive note, happy hour food was awesome!

The resort was very nice and well maintained. I would say the staff wasn't that great. I've much better experiences. I enjoyed my massage and spa. The only complaint I have is that at a room near mine room was very loud and woke me up at 11:30. I couldn't get a response from dialing 0 and I tried 5x. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk clerk she really didn't seem to care much.

Had a great stay. Unfortunately it was raining during my whole stay but there are things you can still do inside. The restaurants were great and they have a pool and if you drive around there are lots of things to do in the area. You can rent a kayak on the beach and paddle out to a small land mass if it wasn't raining. Very cool place i will be returning

We had a nice stay. Enjoyed having a drink at the bar and listening to the band. Had a nice breakfast in the morning.
No major complaints, but for the price and style of the hotel I expected it to be cleaner. One of my drinks in the bar had a dirty ice cube and the glassware and plates at breakfast had some spots on them (looked like dried food that didn’t come off in dishwasher)

My husband and I stayed two nights. There was a large wedding party in the facility as well. Everyone- guests and staff- was very nice, but the reception took over the whole lobby the afternoon of the wedding and we had to literally wade through hundreds of people drinking, laughing and talking just to get from the only elevator to the exit (or the restaurant or the pool or anywhere else). For anyone but wedding guests, it was quite overwhelming. It seems the wedding business is a big part of the business there, but it should not impede other guests's right to, and expectation of, a relaxing stay.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. I requested in advance access to a microwave due to a special diet for my son with a disability and was initially told there would be an additional fee—$15 + tax per night! After I pushed back via Expedia, with reception, and then the manager, the fee was ultimately waived. While I appreciate that, it was very disappointing that a basic disability-related accommodation required that level of advocacy in the first place.

Requests tied to disability should be handled smoothly and without friction from the outset, not treated as optional add-ons. It was particularly frustrating that additional justification, and back n forth were needed before the request was recognized appropriately. This was not about the amount, but about the principle. When I asked whether there would be a charge to use a wheelchair, it was immediately understood that there would not be—yet the same principle did not seem to apply here.

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, accommodations necessary due to disability should not incur additional fees. I hope the hotel takes this as an opportunity to improve staff awareness, training & policy review so future guests do not have to go through a similar experience.

Overall, the stay itself was fine, but this aspect could have been handled much better, and it soured the experience for us. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless they make significant changes to be disability-friendly.

We loved our stay here. The staff was so wonderful! (Mary Luz at the Starbucks was so sweet!) and the food was fresh and delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and cognizant and caring regarding food allergies. The views from every vantage were special and memorable. We had not great weather and it did not matter!! It was a perfect getaway spot.

The resort is very clean and well maintained. There was an issue with a heavy smoke smell in the room. According to the stuff it was coming from the fireplace downstairs. We had to keep the window open through the night.
We attended a musical show with the dinner on Saturday night. Next day I was very surprised to find out that my credit card was charged for 6 tickets instead of 2. I spend a long time on the phone to block the charges, that ended up with credit card cancelation.
That's why I rated my stay there as OK instead of very good.

The staff throughout our stay was amazing. Our room was spotless and so comfortable. Beautiful view from the balcony. The spa was beautiful. We had relaxing massages. We ate in the main dining room. Our waiter was great and the food was amazing. We had so much fun using the jacuzzi and the pool which were very clean. So convenient having Starbucks in the hotel and a lovely gift shop. The valet staff were kind and helpful with our luggage. We will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel for your stay. We went during the cold weather but would love to come back in the warmer weather.

Excessive noise, loud rumble and lots of incessant creaking in bathroom (mostly.) Perhaps air handler on roof. We were on 3rd floor. Ice machine next to room out of order, they said they would attend to it. But it was still out of order when we left. The unit on top of it was very, very noisy as well. Beautiful location. Friendly, helpful staff. But somewhat run down surprisingly. Finish coming off door handles, etc., etc

On four separate occasions, including in front of other guests and staff, her tone and demeanor were unwelcoming and disrespectful. At one point she even came out and loudly stated her full first name and last name when I asked if she was the same person on check in . Then she slammed paperwork on the front desk .
This behavior turned what was meant to be a special mother–daughter getaway into a disappointing experience.

Because of this, we will not be returning to the property. I wanted to share this feedback so it can be addressed for the sake of future guests.

Looking for a relaxing summer get away and this didn't disappoint. Beautiful property on the water. Beach was clean and chairs and umbrellas provided. Staff was super professional and accommodating. Outside bar and restaurants, no need to leave the property. Surrounding area was quiet and close drive to the town of Essex.
