Overall the stay was good but on arrival they couldn’t offer us our booked room so moved us to an executive suite. On the face of it this sounded better but the room smelt of stale smoke and the shower was as good as useless. We moved on day two and it was much better.

Hotel was lovely, staff were very helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. The only thing that stopped me giving it 5 stars was our room overlooked a small side street with another building opposite so there was no light coming into the room and no view & at night the side street was noisy with trucks passing through possibly delivering things to our hotel or the building opposite

The breakfast was awesome. They included south Indian meal as well. We got a free room upgrade to an 1 bedroom apartment. It was so convenient since we have kids. Thank you Mr. Hamze at the reception. The Swimming pool at the roof top was nice too.

I'd give the Golden Tulip six stars if I could. We arrived early at about 9am but they were able to give us a room, even upgrading us to a very nice suite. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and in good working order. We don't normally eat breakfast but the buffet was only 50 QAR per person, about $50 USD and had a nice combination of Western and Middle Eastern (which I prefer) offerings. The hotel is very convenient to the Souq Waqif, major museums, the Corniche, and the cruise port. Next time in Doha we will definitely stay here!

I had over 12hrs stopover in Doha so I have decided to book here to rest, relax, dine, etc. instead of waiting at the airport for my flight back to NY. I expected to find a nice room in a hotel that's advertised to be 5-star. This hotel is more on 3,star. It had a kitchenette, and carpeting was washed out. The bathroom was small. Worst was the absence of an electrical outlet that I could use to charge my cellphone and laptop. The staff were nice but I have decided to check out by 0530pm.

If this is a 5 start hotel then I must be Lionel Messi….worst hotel I have ever stayed in. From the reception, to the restaurant, to the food, to the room….absolutely shocking.
Don’t be fooled by the early reviews you read on this hotel, scroll down and read the REAL reviews like this one. The most unfriendly and unhelpful hotel ever, restaurant staff are a joke, the hotel room was dirty and smelly. Need I go on.

The location is good for the Musuem of Islamic Arts and the Souk Waqip. The room is spacious but lack of luxury as it claims itself to be. At its best, it can only be a 4 start hotel.

The bathroom was for some reason abandoned. Towels were missing upon arrival, toilet paper was not replenished, soap as well. Calling the reception got these sorted within 5 minutes, so we were just curious why this was not just auto as elsewhere. Especially experiencing how Qatar and its people are extremely friendly, welcoming and not expecting (bakshish or) anything. The hotel is great, and the best closest restaurant we found is the al Zarka, https://maps.app.goo.gl/KYz3D7c5sK9fEcQ67
They do not call it as it is now popular \"fusion\", but they do Indian, Pakistani, Nepali, Chinese and Arabic (and maybe more, they have staff from those regions). Got a great dinner, happy as well, for a third we paid the previous night in Souk Waqif, and also got food for our flight back. A hamburger, with a fried egg, layer of real beef, mayonnaise and vegetables was USD 1.4, packed for the flight as requested so well i brought one back home (ordered four). Food is reported to be expensive in QTR, but You just need to find where to eat.

Def not golden, more like brass

Red flags from check in, front desk guy was not very considerate. Floors in room were not vacuumed and the bathroom was moldy. The whole room smelled of mold and smoke. the bath tub did not drain properly and the wifi was not working in certain areas of the room. I got 2 towels and had to request more which never came. Asked for a wake up call that never called and had someone smoking on the floor all night. i called the front desk but nothing was done. So sad that this place is rated 4+ stars for Doha when there are other hotels more deserving of the stars. Not my 1st trip to Doha so I was truly disappointed. Do not believe the photos, the place is a dump and in a dumpy area. I did not feel safe walking around in the daylight.

Pro, The hotel was in an ideal location. Efficient staff . Hot tub in the spa was good. The room was very comfortable.

Con, website said the pool was available for our stay. It wasn't available l. I didn't appreciate being scolded when I pointed this out at check in.

When we booked under 4-5 star this hotel showed up but unfortunately this hotel should under 3 or 3 1/2 star only !
Every day you can smell frying onion or fish from room 😔
They have a small coffee shop at the lobby but every time you had to wait like 20 min till someone showing up 😔
Parking was free but if you were late you can’t park (meaning not enough for guess)😔
I asked since we’re staying more than a week in your hotel give us one of your nice and upper floor (they gave us 3rd)
Any how I won’t stay in this hotel any more and I will add my comment under client reviews also so other can read .

We stayed at the Golden Tulip Doha during our 1 night layover on our way to Bali, we didn’t eat at the hotel. However, the service was excellent, they arranged our transportation from and to the airport and a 4 hour tour of the city. The room was clean, big and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location close to the airport and attractions.

We had a very good experience. We were given an upgrade and the people at the front desk and the breakfast were super nice! On our way to the airport the luggage people hired an Uber for us, knowing that it would be cheaper than a taxi. Very nice people.

The only downside was that there was some smell of sewage, but I think that it was due to the high heat (almost 45 C) plus the construction going on everywhere in the city (which was not the hotel's fault).

The staff was very friendly specially the girl that works at the restaurant inside the hotel. She explained everything to detail since it was our first time trying different food.
