We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and truly enjoyed our time there. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, polite, and always ready to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere of the hotel was calm and pleasant, making it easy to unwind after a long day. We also appreciated the quality of service and attention to detail throughout our visit. Overall, our experience was very positive, and we would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

this hotel has a very good room, and very close is an Irish pub (at the top of the Westing house hotel), also one block as a bus stop to take you to the metro station to avoid incredible powerful sun in Qatar

The hotel itself is good and the staff was very helpful with the problems of the Ehteraz app.

The only bad part, and this will be fixed in a few years, is the area is a huge construction zone. It's nearly impossible to walk to the metro station or souk or waterfront because the roads are blocked off, torn up, barricades, fences and construction equipment everywhere. In fact the whole city seems to be under construction. It will be good once it's finished but right now I would not stay in this area.

Everything was perfect. The front desk staff was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I was really impressed with the service! The location was great! It was easy walking distance to the Souk and the Islamic Art Museum. Very comfortable room. Complimentary tea in the lobby is delicious. Actually really loved the toiletries in the room! I would absolutely stay here again.

Smart hotel, excellent location

Helpful, friendly staff with an excellent free airport service.. Good size, smart room with a view to the sea in the distance.
Breakfast reasonable including a cooked omelette, evening buffet OK at a reasonable price. You can't really get away from the TVs as they have 7 of them in the dining room but they will turn the sound down if requested.
Nice pool area on the top floor.
One unusual feature is that a small mosque is just below the hotel on the sea facing side so you can listen to the Imam calling the faithful to prayer at 5am, lunchtime, afternoon and evening which I enjoyed.
Excellent location situated a few minutes walk from the sea front promenade, the souk (good selection of restaurants), the Museum of Islamic Art (sensational) and the Qatar National Museum (opens late March 2019).

Adequate, but not 4 star quality

Hotel is fine, but not up to par with the quality you'd expect with 4 stars. Shower had some mold, towels were thin and small, bedding had a small cigarette burn, etc.. Nothing that ruined the stay, but there are lots of other options in the area if the small details matter to you.

That being said, wifi worked well and if your flight aligns with the hotel shuttle schedule a free airport transfer is always appreciated.

Good Hotel for Long Layover.

We stayed here on a 12 hour layover - it's a 10 minute walk to the Museum of Islamic Arts and only 20 minutes from the airport (they have a free shuttle every 2 hours). It's in an area with a bunch of other hotels and not much else, but a cheap/quick Uber ride can take you anywhere in the city. It was a good and affordable place to stay for such a short amount of time.

I would recommend the Royal Riviera Hotel, Doha.

We enjoyed our one night stay at the Royal Riviera Hotel. Even though we hadn't thought ahead to book their airport shuttle service, the information booth at the Airport contacted the Hotel and they sent their van (it was just past midnight) to collect us. We were impressed. Upon our arrival, we were also asked what time we liked to check out, and as our flights were at 9.30 pm that day, we were allowed to check out at 6 pm. Again, we thought that was great. All the staff spoke excellent English, were very helpful and polite. I would definitely stay there again.

good hotel for short stay and 20-hour transit

I booked it at the last minute for a 21-hour layover in Doha. Donnot count on the airline's free city tour, it gets filled quickly. You need a hotel when the weather is 110 degrees. Bus 747 drops off near the Souq and the hotel is a 15-minute walk. Ask for best western plus, they are next to each other. Front desk was very friendly and gave me a room with bay view. Room is spacious with comfortable beds, but the bathroom needs some renovation.
Very close to the Souq, a shopping mall, art museum, and a mosque-cultural center. I toured all afternoon and was able to rest in there for several hours. Best part is the free airport ride back to airport, not a shuttle, a nice car! Driver, a young gentleman from India, was very courteous and pleasant. They only charge 50 for a roundtrip ride. If single ride, it is free. Perfect hotel for transit through Doha.

Nice Hotel for Long Layover in Doha

1. Poor Expedia Communication between Online Booking and Hotel Front Desk
- I had to wait more than an hour in the lobby waiting for the the front desk to get the hotel reservaton confirmation made online with Expedia.
2. Finally the hotel staff agreed to expedite check in as we were tired after the long overnight flight.
3. Bed was extremely comfortable; glad to have nice Nescafe in the room !!
4. Shower drain was a little slow; but nice hot water reversed our tiredness quickly.
5. Few minute walk to Islamic Art Museum and Souk Waqif.

Misleading Web Info--The Hotel is 2-3 Stars not 4.

Hi this hotel is 2-3 stars, but advertised as 4 stars. Place was dirty with damaged furnitures and toilet. Towels were not washed properly. Room was not vacumed properly. Could see nasty long hairs on the carpet and surroundings. The Jacuzzi was broken and was told to check tomorrow. I was happy to see a four Star hotel in Doha for $75 a night. The location was close to airport and shops. Staff was friendly. Anyway, If you are looking for 4 star hotel. This is not the Hotel. Choose another hotel. Thanks, Joseph

You can feel that the hotel 's staff are not happy, not motivated and doing their job just because they need their salaries. The hotel is dirty, noisy, and certainly not a five stars as mentioned . Pictures on their web site are not anymore as per their current situation. This hotel is a 2 stars hotel maximum.

Must use Hotel Limo service as there are no standby taxis, which means you pay 3 x the price.

Bathmat & vanity kit only available on the 1st night...and never replaced. Asked Maud for a Bathmat and it never came.

Only 1 toothbrush offered for entire stay, even though there were 2 guests.

Only 2 towels given.

Worst shower pressure.

No clock in room.

Paper card put into slot rather than room key to enable power to the room. Dodgy as the power kept turning off. Even tried using room key but there was something wrong with the slot.

Room window doesn't lock which means it's loud from construction across the road plus the constant sound coming from the speakers at various times of the day and night from the mosque next door. A bit daunting at 3am on your 1st night.

Staff not too helpful and don't know much when asked a question and find it hard to answer as English isn't spoken to well.

Breakfast selection not the best.

The staff working in all areas of the hotel were very friendly and helpful,however I think this hotel would struggle to achieve 4 star status in Europe.The roof top restaurant was a substantial disappointment along with the tiny swimming pool.The hotel does not have a bar(not that we were bothered) There was clearly visible liquid staining on the walls of our room and problems with the electric plugs, we had to continually ask for two towels and replenishment of the tea and coffee(never appeared). Doha is one big building site at the moment and not very pretty, however the qatarie people are very friendly

Comfortable enough hotel. Close to the Museum of Islamic Art. Rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly although some struggled to understand English, but we always got there in the end! The Mosque right next door woke us up every morning at 4.50am.. Unavoidable really for this hotel. Good in the restaurant was reasonably priced and generally good. No alcohol is served in this hotel. Only 10 min drive to the city and 20 to West Bay. Fantastic views of the skyline from the hotel rooftop restaurant. For the price we paid, excellent value.

I stayed here about 12 months ago shortly after the opening, despite the glossy on-line pictures, the check in was painfully slow, room furniture chunky and unsuitable, bathroom plumbing poor, shower overflows across the floor, the room service food was acceptable but the breakfast room food was basic with little choice.
Unfortunately due to events in Doha I stayed again recently and nothing has changed except the room service food which was very poor.

3 star hotel at best not 5 star hotel

I missed my flight home so I booked my stay at this hotel since it was about 10 km to the airport. There is nothing 5 stars about it. No valet service, no body standing at the door to help out with your bags. At the reception there was only one personnel at the desk, I had to wait 15 mins before it was my turn to check in. The hotel staff was very unprofessional asking personal questions which made me very uncomfortable. The room was mediocre, although they did have wifi which worked fine. I had lots of noise filter in to my room, and I was also woken up by loud noise. At most this is a 2.5 star hotel with very bad customer service, I will never stay there agian.

It appears as new owners have taken over, and the place got better every day I was there. Not much if a restaurant yet, no gym, and no coffee shop...so not a 5 star at the moment. Once they complete the renovations, I'd stay here again.

there is absolutetely nothing that could be complained about. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is a tower block type hotel with a small lobby but very nice.The location was great for hte airport and the east side of town. We had a suite room which was briliant. Breakfast wasn't your quite 5 star and the roof top pool is small and not particularly attractive but clean and uncrowded. Overlall would recomend and consider staying htere again as it was friendly and professional.

Reception attitude un acceptable

I strongly believe the room is available event at 10 am, but the reception office, was held us in the waiting area for nothing, at the end he allowed us, to enter the room at 11.15. I understand the hotel regulation to check in at 3 pm, but I was arrived earlier. Shall be flexibility given for a good reason. I hope the case shall be treated case by case, though I was check out at 7 am the next day. The hotel management shall look at this issue.

Good hotel let down by reception

Close to airport and one end of the cornish(promenade). Long but pleasant walk into town centre. Near to souk(market) and restaurants. Rooms spacious, clean and well equipped. Hotel staff especially in both restaurants very good, except for reception. They were not very informative, the porter was better, they were confused as to whether guests could charge to the room and on check out, bearing in mind they knew about the charges the night before as well as our taxi booking, had no change to allow cash payment. When a card was offered they appeared unable to use this either. They were unsure whether a hotel or public taxi was booked and then took our change for the taxi assuring us the taxi driver would have the change that they did not. The taxi driver did not have the change and we had to leave him with twice the normal fare which was already higher than a normal taxi having been booked by the hotel. At a stressful time getting to the airport this was not appreciated. A reasonable hotel let down by a few individuals.

Terrible end experience

An initial experience was promising but than they turned into Doctor Jackyl and Mr. Hyde.
They conspired between the front desk employee and concierge and wanted to charge me for Hotel
concierge for changing money. However no one told me that there is a charge for this service.
After arguing with the desk clerk for several minutes I won the argument. I did give appropriate gratuity to concierge. However a second concierge went to Taxi driver and held a short conversation with him. When I entered the Taxi I noticed that the meter was not on. When asked what is the fare to Airport Driver said it is 50
Qatari money. The real fare was 12 Qatari. After another argument and threatening the driver that he is acting illegally by not running the meter he agreed to regular fare. This was apparently orchestrated by Hotel staff.

This is not a 5 stars hotel. They gave me smaller room than what I paid for with no view to the water. After I complained, they tried to compensate giving me a room in a higher floor. I had a very bad experience with this hotel. There is no room to park if you have an SUV. Food is horrible. I won't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I end up moving to a real 4 stars hotel that make the 5 look like a no star hotel.

The hotel is a new and nice hotel close to the Corniche. The rooms are nice and beds comfortable. We were made to wait over an hour to check in because they had no rooms due to overbooking, this was the case with many more visitors. Finally we receiving the room, which wasn't the one that we originally booked. Also one of the staff denied talking to expedia staff regarding my prior changes! The breakfast was very very very poor considering it is a 5 star hotel. I have to admit the reception ladies worked very hard due to administratior faults! Will not be staying here again.

Convenient to Corniche and Souk Waqif

The good: well-maintained, comfortable rooms (the comfortable mattress and crisp sheets felt downright luxurious after a hard evening's walking around the souk!), very clean, great internet connection, great breakfast buffet, attractive decor, walking distance to souk and Islamic Art Museum.. The less good: lots of construction in the area (though of course this isn't the hotel's fault, and I didn't hear much in the room), the pool area is only open 9am - 6pm (totally annoying!), I couldn't find the advertised exercise room & spa, and the staff give very poor directions to sights.

Good hotel, but beware of local call charges!

The hotel is okay as far as the room and staff are concerned. It is within walking distance of the Corniche, the Islamic Museum and the old and new souks.

The buffet breakfast does not have good selection and needs a lot of upgrading and/or improvement, although wait staff are good.

The worst is the local call charge imposed by the hotel (for a minimum charge of 8QR or around $2.25 per call) which we are not even aware of. It was just insane to get charged for not even a minute of phone call which was even more expensive than the ordered food at McDonalds!

Nice Hotel near many attractions

The room was nicely decorated (modern style) and was kept spotless by the friendly staff. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of food choices and most menu items were changed daily. My room was on the side of a busy street, so some road noise did come through.

The hotel is very close to many attractions including the Islamic Art Museum and the corniche walk. However, due to construction (which seems to be occurring everywhere in Doha), you can't just walk there and need a ride.

Overall, I would definitely stay again at this hotel if I ever travel again to Doha.

The Riviera was a good place to spend 2 days in Doha. It's within walking distance to the Museum of Islamic Art and the Souq Waqif which was nice, although cabs are cheap and easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue I had was with the toilet, which became stuck in the flush position causing a constant running water noise. When I called reception to fix the problem they sent someone up right away and he fixed the problem quickly.

The Hotel is economical there for Crowded & the staff were not trained to take care of the busy schedules (Less staff)
Check in & check out took more than 30m waiting!!

Rooms were pretty Big & bed was neat ...Service of food was good (Menu only Arabic!), the House keeping were pleasing even though charged for water from second time. Room was not cleaned first day & during the night as guest was inside asked for cleaning the room!!? Wash room fittings seems to be pretty Old.

Concierge didn't ask for help during check in or check out , where they preferred for Arab Nationals & Business Crew with an elegant outfit..!

Roads to the hotel was not Good, Gravel Road with difficulty on parking

A newly finished clean hotel. The only issue I had was that it was quite noisy due to the windows not being very air tight (but that is the same anywhere in the middle east) and the air con was loud so had to turn it off at night.Generally much better than other hotels that I have stopped at in the area.

Extremely small rooms!!

Extremely small rooms & bathroom, ac control not working properly, no working area, no chair for the desk, missing amenties.

Hotel is not ready to be open yet!

This hotel might be fine when it is ready and should be open for guests. Right now so much is not working and still rooms clearly shows that they have not been cleaned (tiles etc). No possibility to buy anything to drink (except during the breakfast time).

The hotel is up and coming, and should be great once it's in full opening. We visited during the soft opening; while the rates were excellent, a lot was missing, i.e. exact change for $, a place to eat, the ability to get an ironing board.

Brand-new hotel, still hasn't ironed out the kinks

Very nice hotel, excellent staff. It's very new and doesn't have any signage, so tell your cab driver you're going to the Gloria and then walk next door. Quick walk to MIA, Corniche, and Souq Waqif. Sea view rooms have excellent view of bay, MIA, and New Doha, but those rooms have 2 twin beds. Sea view side is also directly over a mosque, so you'll definitely know when it's prayer time! Still some mechanical quirks - I couldn't get cold water out of the sink, the bathroom drainage seemed to be struggling a bit , and there's no clock in the room.

good hotel for a business trip

This new hotel is very comfortable hotel, spotless and clean. Staff endeavour to please. Minor downsides are only one electrical socket available in the room - but on request they supplied a plug board. As it's a new hotel, taxi's weren't readily available, so had to walk to the main road to hail a cab. I guess this will change once the hotel is more known to the locals.

I didn't have time to try their breakfasts!

Great value overall, and very comfortable.
