It was amazing stay with family,, bed is so comfortable. Place so quiet, food is so delicious and services are exceptional. Even there’s a few things that are not working properly, but then it’s all taking card off the same day. Staffs are very friendly.

Ants in the bed of first room. The front desk put us in a second room because of this. Next day maid cleaned room and we returned to find dead bed bugs on the clean towel they put on the bed.

Loved this Hotel and our room premium or jr suite. It's lovely to have a nice view on the 9th floor, and the staff was excellent, especially in the restaurant. Breakfast was the highlight of the day, so amazing and underrated, such a great surprise.

The location of the Hotel was excellent, we would and will stay at this property again

The check in late in the evening was great. The staff throughout all interactions were nice and professional.

The rooms are too dark to really judge cleanliness. Towels were thin. Bed (King) was not a good sleep, not sure why. The shower curtain rod was sagging and the liquid soap dispenser in the shower was empty, which demonstrates no one is checking on housekeeping.

I looked over the breakfast buffet and did not like the choices.

Even the manager is on the floor ready to assist when his staff is busy. This hotel is my family’s favorite when visiting Davao City. Accommodation is excellent. Easy access to the airport, to the wharf, and to shopping malls and warehouses.

Relaxing Stay with Excellent Service and Amenities

We stayed there until January 1 and had a wonderful experience. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The service was warm and welcoming, with staff always greeting us with smiles. The breakfast buffet was delightful, and I particularly enjoyed the ambiance. The pool was fantastic, with plenty of benches to sit back and relax. We truly enjoyed our stay!

The room that they gave me, the location is not good, There is a window but facing the wall of the next building. You can’t see the outside world. You can see the water treatment, some constructions materials dumped downstairs.

Staff were not knowledgeable. Additional steps were needed to check in, taking extra time that was not needed. Some staff are great, some provide no help at all. The complimentary water is not managed well, and the aircon unit was spewing out a terrible smell. The Staff did not try to provide a different room. This location is not recommended, and i will not return.

Even though there were renovations happening the Hotel went out of their way to ensure the customer experience was good; they are always smiling and say hello each time and it makes you say hello and not just walk past and ignore; the breakfast had a great range and the cook was always willing to make something for you if you desired; the rooms are clean and modern so a great stay was had:)

Overall very disappointed in the property with regards facilities, pricing, communication and management.

We chose this upscale hotel for its appearance on the website and it’s pool.
However after check in we come to find that the pool was closed for renovations but nothing was mentioned on the hotel website not with Expedia.
Then the lights and phone were not functioning so were moved to another room.
The WiFi never worked anywhere in the hotel.
The lighting/ac control system was archaic and highly impractical.
Press the button for “desk” and the TV shuts off and so does the lights in the bathroom.
Asked to see the duty manager at the reception and after about 8 minutes he came slowly strolling through the front doors, hands in pockets.... walked right past me without greeting me and spoke with the receptionist.
I presume he had been out for a stroll in the street...

No sense of urgency or hospitality.
Informed me I had to wait for management meeting in the morning to decide whether they could upgrade/refund/discount our 3 night stay.
Next day I was told by a supervisor that we would get a 20% discount.
You would think that a manager would come take care of this multi faceted situation but apparently we were not considered important
Still No apology...
Bar drinks were overpriced compared to other 3 and 4 star hotels I have stayed in in Davao.
Menu was lengthy and food was very outdated, poorly prepared and presented and lacked any taste.

Seems like the hotel has been trapped from the past. It must have been grand and regal many years ago. Used the restroom at the lobby and was welcomed by 2 small roaches. The bedroom and its amenities looks very tired and worn already. Breakfast buffet is included in the room rate but nothing really special.

Phone, Electronic key and lights are not working. They advised to be seen by engineering team. But we opted to sleep instead to wait engineering team because were totally exhausted already.

Aircon must have control inside the room so we cant off it anytime for convenience.
Provide bidet/sprinkler water for toilet purposes.

Breakfast buffet was great. More choices of foods.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. There are a lot of places nearby to eat and there is a large mall nearby. The only thing that I did not like was that the pool was closed at the time of my stay and one of the reasons that we had chosen this hotel was because it had a swimming pool. Other then that, the hotel is very nice and I do plan on staying here again. I hope that the pool will be open when I return.

Hotel restaurant: Everything was too expensive COMPARED to every other hotel restaurants we ate at during this trip. Too many things on the menu are listed at 500 pesos.

Electrical cord tied to a bathroom drawer: This was a potential safety hazard. (picture included)

Swimming pool: It was empty and not serviceable. The Grand Regal Hotel website didn't mention this at all. If I knew this swimming pool was out of order I would have chose a different hotel.

Four Day Stay

Experienced earthquake during the stay and the hotel staff was very accommodating and professional during the event. The Room and staff were very good. The breakfast was okay, but the heating elements under some of the servers were not lit, so some food was not heated. But overall the breakfast was pretty good.

Bad hotel with hidden supplemental charges.

The phone system was broke along with one elevator, the room was not real clean and very old. I would not stay here again. Also charged a supplemental charge on my credit card and it was almost as much as the hotel rate. If I could I would have cancelled my stay but I reserve for the next day and no refund.
