Instead of spending 7hrs at the airport between flights, I had a comfy overnight here. Clean, courteous staff (especially ROBIN, the doorman from Nepal). Rested and felt like new. Only 16 mins from airport by Uber.

The Golden Ocean was a pleasant stay. The staff were very handy and helpful at all times. The rooms / decor was a bit out dated but was still clean so wasn't a massive problem. The breakfast tasted nice however was a very limited selection. They had a good gym and swimming pool.

The location was good many taxis and local tourists spots in walkable distance and a mosque round the corner.

Overall happy with the hotel could do more for breakfast would definitely stay again!!!

When I had arrived despite it being several hours after check in time my room was not ready and told to an hour till my room was ready, furthermore the hotels system was down so no one's card was working so anytime I wanted to enter my room I had to wait for bellboy to escort and open door with a master key. Many times the bell boy was busy so I was expected to over 10 minutes when I complained bout this the manager suggested I simply leave my door open, yes great suggestion just leave my door open for anyone to come get my belongings, cash and passport. Id avoid this hotel while in doha

Friendly staff but the hotel is comparable to the cheapest motels in the US. Rooms we stayed were smelly, decor was gaudy, carpet seemed multi decades old, and bathroom looked rundown. I would not complain if it costed $30-40 per room per night as you get what you paid for. But for close to $200/night per room, I would expect something similar what is considered a 3 star hotels in the US.

Do not recommend this place.

I booked 8 nights at this hotel. I arrived one day late due to delayed flight, and after spending one night I decided I can’t stay. The place is not clean and the room was old and the smell was bad. There was no wifi coverage except in a small corner of the room and it was weak and inconsistent.
I went to management and asked them for an early check out. I requested that they refund me half of my stay (4 nights out of 8) despite the fact that I had the room for only 2. They refused at first and only pretended to accept (see below) after a long discussion and making my case regarding how poor the facility is compared to what’s advertised. They said that I should contact expedia to request early check out and that they’ll accept the request when they receive it from expedia.
I did contact Expedia, and a couple of days later I received an email from them saying the hotel rejected the request of early check out.
So this hotel is overpriced, not clean, outdated, and above all has a management that has no issue with lying to customers to their face.

You can do much better for the same price elsewhere. Avoid this place.

While the location of Golden Ocean Hotel is convenient, the overall experience left much to be desired. The rooms were dated and in need of renovation, with worn-out furnishings and a musty smell. Additionally, the noise from neighboring rooms and the street outside made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The amenities were lacking, and the staff seemed disinterested in addressing guests' concerns. Overall, the hotel fell short of expectations and did not provide a satisfactory experience.

When I arrived, the staff was friendly and even bumped me up to a bigger room. The room, however, had a stale odor. Looking around, I found that there was mould throughout - especially in the washroom. In fact, the washroom ceiling was cracked and looked like it was ready to collapse, and you could clearly see the mould all over. Will not stay there again.

FALSE MARKETING & ADVERTISING

They advertise having welcome drinks and its not true, they advertise having a pillow menu see picture below, its not true, the staff is unfriendly, unethical , they only cae about money they do not care about customer service, housekeeping never cleans, they are very cheap with their clients, besides the Gambian at the Gym , one Sri Lankan gentleman who has glasses and works in the office and the Bengladesh gentlemen whom is at the door, and the pool monitor all the other staff is terrible specifically reservation and reception , we do not advise you to go there in our many years of travelling and visitint over 50 hotels in the world we have never sent such horrible review and we are obliged to say the truth , don't spend your money there, its not worth it, even for free we would never go back

WORSE HOTEL IN QATAR

This hotel is the worse in Qatar , due to a payment problem with the Hotel machine they dares harassed us and called us 40 times and even at midnight while our children were sleeping for 30$CAD when we had spent over 500 on this hotel with various extension , Mr.Khan at reception was so rude he told us it was not his problem if the machine had issue that we could choose another hotel, people are so rude and racist and unprofessional it feels like being in a cemetery do no go there there are plenty of wonderful places in Qatar go elsewhere they don't deserve your hard earned money

We travelled over the world and visited over 50 hotels this is the worse experience we had, this Hotel has no Baraka, house keeping never cleans unless you harass them to come, the reception is rude, unprofessional and racist, we came with our family and we advise you to go to hotel nearby where people understand the hospitality business we only choose this hotel for the children playground but after being mistreaded, we saw zero value for out money we wish to give minus 50 stars this hotels is a shame for the Wonderful State of Qatar there are many other places to stay do no go there.

I enjoyed my stay and overall have no complaints about the Golden Ocean Hotel and its staff. The staff on the late night of arrival 24/9/22 were exceptionally helpful and I am thankful for their assistance.
The room, whilst dated in appearance is functional and clean. The lounge had a broken spring on two cushions which detracted from the experience. The amenities were sparse, with only bottled water (x2) and two coffee satchels offered for refreshment, no tea or biscuits.... The refrigerator was empty. It would be nice to have UHT Milk available for drinkers of coffees and teas but this is only a minor observation.
The cleanliness of the bathroom was slightly let down by is general appearance in terms of wear and tear. Additionally, there was mould between the tiles in the shower area.

I usually never write reviews, but it was unacceptable and hope nobody else lives this experience. I found the hotel representative at the airport Hossin, he told me that I had to pay over 100 Qatari to get to the hotel. I showed him my reservation and explained that the only reason I chose this hotel was because they had free shuttle. Afterwards, I emailed the organization expressing my concern, and they said the shuttle was comí at 8:00 pm. I waited for the bus shuttle from the time of the reservation (6:19 pm) until 8:25 pm, and the shuttle never came. I talked to the police, and the police was really concerned and said that they have had several complains about the same hotel. The police man helped me called the hotel to confirm my reservation. The hotel replied that I never made a booking, even though I provided my name and booking number.

I could not stay in the hotel, because I do not tratar it’s representatives. The police advised me to speak to management, and I did spoke to them as soon as I arrived to the hotel. They denied the situation and tried to simulate that nothing happened to me. The front desk staff was really helpful, but management treated me horribly after this terrible and unfortunate event.

Room very hot even after the guy adjusted the air conditioner it didn’t work and there was no toothpaste or toothbrush at the bathroom! I asked them to give me a charger and nobody even cared to call me back or tel me they can’t! Wait for long time. Wrote the did the check in although I payed online a month before my arrival!

Next to the hotel there was a construction site it didn’t stop working till 6am I didn’t sleep that night and when I asked to check out they refused to give my money back saying that you reserved the room 4 days. Also they didn’t clean the room when I left in the morning I came and I found the room ad it was.
