Great spot to stay at. Gated with guards so felt really safe. Across the street are art vendors with some great art to purchase. Especially helps if you know pigin 😉 room was nice, good view, room service came to the door. Instant shuttle to the airport starting at 630am. Overall pretty happy

The staff were outstanding, very kind and welcoming. The hotel was large, comfortable, but the air con was too cold. I turned it off- but an hour later had to switch it back on. The food at the hotel next door, also a Holiday Inn, was a buffet for dinner. Normally I avoid those, but it looked great and it was! I had an early flight and the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure I had a breakfast. Top notch.

I liked that the hotel staff was friendly and made checking in and out very easy. The rooms were nice and clean and the hotel had a delivery service for food. I was able to pay either cash or card for all amenities - this was a plus as I was traveling internationally. The miss was laundry. Initial calls were to the reception desk about laundry and they were busy so my question wasn’t answered before they hung up on me. I brought my clothes downstairs to drop off after I received an answer for the item being laundered that was not on the form to complete and send off with my laundry. I stayed up most of the night and had to call twice before finally receiving my laundry at almost 2am after dropping off around 12p after I was assured at 7pm that my laundry was being finished. This was the only Miss, but overall experience was good. I will definitely be staying at this location again when I’m back in POM.

Ila, the lady at the international airport terminal was awesome, even when she received an ear full from a guest who said he had been waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive for pick-up which was not correct!!
This guest and myself arrived on the same aircraft from Brisbane, entered and exited customs at the same time and when he decided to vent his frustration we had only be waiting all of 5 minutes. Ila certainly did not deserve what was said to her, but to her credit she remained composed and for front of staff, that isn't easy at the best of times when dealing with the public.

Holiday Inn Express has always been a really good place to stay, so thank-you to all staff.

Damp carpet, unfilled bottles, shower drain clog

The carpet was damp somehow, had to wear slippers the whole time. The soap bottle on the sink was empty. Also the water did not completely drain in the shower, must be some clog up. These should have been fixed before making unit available to customer.

The staff might need to do more customer service.
Should know and be responsible when guest asked for wake up call as that is very important. And never to shout out the room number of a guest for others to hear. it is for safety purposes.

All the elevators in the hotel were non-operational so guests had to use the emergency stairs to access levels by foot.

Room had no towels which had to be requested for to be delivered. Request had to be done in person at the front desk as phone in room was not working.

I often stay here when Im in port Moresby. Unlike its sister hotel Holiday Inn, this hotel is much more friendly. I got early check inn and had no problems getting breakfast which was an ordeal in other hotels in POM.

Hotel is convenient and I have staid there quite a few times. However, when I checked in I asked for a late check out as my flight to Manila was late in the afternoon. I was told 2pm. however, the next morning i got a call from reception paying checkout was 12pm. I explained to her about the receptionist giving me until 2pm but she would not comprise. when i complained to the manager I was told the person was a trainee. That is no excuse for poor service. Gust be warned as this hotel as poor staff and management. They think they can treat customers like dirt because this is PNG

Great place for a good sleep

This is a great Hotel. Smaller rooms than the Main Holiday Inn but if you need a bed for the nights it's great. Staff friendly and helpful. Beds are very comfortable and above all the rooms are quiet. Internet is good and they provide a more than adequate breakfast, all part of the deal. I will stay again

A few maintenance issues

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Maintenance had to work on the tv to get it working. I had a light flashing above my bed every other minute throughout the night. It was nice and comfortable apart from the flashing light.

I was requestung for hot water at the restaurant but to to no avail because the coffee machine is not working.

Coffee Machine? Hot water? What's the connection? Cant the hotel find another way to produce hot water?

Solution: We as GUEST have to bring down the kettle in our room to boil our own water at the restaurant to have a tea for our local visitor.

Was very disappointed in our room, I paid 220 Australian dollars and was expecting to get what I paid for ! I was given room 4101 this was a disabled persons room. I am not disabled. I was looking forward to a long relaxing bath. No Bathtub. No toilet paper No bath mat. No soap in shower dispenser. Dirty floor. Open fridge to find a half used open milk and dirty glass. Remotesvfor TV didn't work. Bed side lamps didn't work.
Over all very disappointing , Would not recommend to friends or stay again myself unless I was assured of getting what I paid for. I am a frequent traveler to PNG to visit my husband who works in Kimbe. I overnight in POM to connect to my return flight to Townsville. I did inform the Hotel of my disappointment via their feed back questionnaire. Doubtful if I hear from them.

Awesome hotel in Moresby.

On the face of it, this is a budget business hotel. But in reality, if you look beyond the smaller than usual restaurant, this is a superb hotel, with great rooms and super friendly service. At £113 a night, this was certainly no ibis hotel. But prices in Port moreanynhave been coming down for some time.

This hotel is close to a shopping centre, close to the massive and ugly but popular lamana nightclub and restaurant complex. It's also very convenient for the airport.

PNG is a delightful nation- one of the word's must visit places. We dived at Tufi and Walindi (Kimbe Bay) and we trekked around Goroka- but the accommodation was always a bit bush.

After all that muck and mud and sweating, the Holiday Inn Express was a delight. I would even rate it's service to be much higher than the holiday inn across the compound.

Great for business travellers

I stayed 1 night at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting POM on business. The staff were very helpful, the whole place was well presented and felt safe - which was important to me as a female travelling alone. My room was clean and very comfortable. It's all I needed as a business traveller and better value than some other major hotels in town.

I walked just across the driveway (within the compound) to the main Holiday Inn's 'Kopi Haus' restaurant for dinner - the food that my dining companion and I selected off the menu was simple but good, and I spotted a buffet that I'd try if I visit again (one of my workmates recommended it).

I was catching the first flight out in the morning, and was impressed that the hotel's shuttle bus to the airport ran every half hour from 4am. Given they weren't serving breakfast yet at that time of the morning, they provided me with a 'grab and go' box of breakfast.

All in all, a great experience and highly recommended.

We booked through Expedia for two days, but due to difficulties in getting our son's passport we had to rebook for another four nights through Expedia again. Also we were on level four and asked the staff at the reception to move up to level eight, they went out of their way to find us a room even though it was full. We were told to wait for them to call us if they could find us a room. They called as soon as they saw a room available. Now we could see a good half view of the city :)

Good value, well located hotel in Port Moresby

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn (next door) several times over recent years (which is a little tired and needs a renovation) so decided to try the relatively new Holiday Inn Express - the budget version of the Holiday Inn. Express has everything you need and more than what you'd expect from a budget hotel, and offers excellent value with breakfast, wifi, bottled water, and airport pick up included. Very comfortable bed, decent sized, quiet, air-conditioned room despite my room overlooking the main road. Some of the unexpected extras - pillow menu (soft/firm), disposable slippers, access to self-service laundry facilities (although there is access to a full-service laundry service), and in-room iron/ironing board. And the service at Express is excellent - friendly, helpful.

As it is a budget, the breakfast buffet has a limited menu compared with the Holiday Inn across the way but it has a decent variety of hot and cold items and you can also pack things into a bag if you're on the go which is good if you have an early start. Overall I think it offers great value.

For variety, I recommend having lunch/dinner over at the Kopi Haus, in the main Holiday Inn which offers a wider menu and you can charge it back to your room.

usually good but this time..

Usually I enjoy my stay here. it i a new hotel opened mid-2015 but my room this time was for a disabled person and the shower and rest of bathroom was not suitable. As I am a gold member with IHG (Holiday Inn) I was disappointed.
