The room was clean, however the first weekend we stayed before going to Santorini we didn’t have air conditioning which sucked. But when we came back the air conditioning was working and the second stay was much more enjoyable. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of different things to choose from.

Housekeeping did wonderful job keeping room clean and refreshing coffee/tea supplies daily. Staff was phenomenal-friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Would definitely stay at The Stanley hotel again

The hotel is suitable for a short city stay and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. They happily refilled the water and coffee in our room daily when asked. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was regularly replenished.

One large negative is the location. The surrounding streets are dodgy but the hotel is immediately above the metro station and the hop-on-hop-off bus stop. Despite being walkable from Monastiraki Sq and other prime tourist locations, I would highly recommend using transport rather than walking around the side streets, especially at night, or with children or if you are travelling alone.

The room was comfortable and spacious, particularly for a city hotel. The bathroom was compact but, if the door was closed, it would acquire the smell of drains. The gym is fairly small, with some equipment very close to each other - I had to synchronise my use of one machine with another visitor so we avoided knocking into each other - but it's fine if you are the only one in there. We ate in the pool bar for convenience before heading to the airport on our final day and sadly the food was disappointing, you can definitely eat much nicer food for less elsewhere.

Breakfast was amazing! The rooms are clean, but some areas of the rooms are very load the street over has a nightclub, and you can hear it very clearly when your windows are closed. Luckily, we asked to switch rooms and didn't have a problem afterwards

My wife, son and I booked the junior suite both prior to and after a cruise that left from the port of Athens. We stayed in room 900 which is a newly renovated room located on the top floor of the hotel adjacent to the infinity pool.

The Stanley is a newly renovated historic hotel located in central Athens. There is a subway station as well as hop on hop off tourist bus directly outside. Easy cheap access to tourist spots, airport, port.

This is the only Junior suite in the hotel, and its location offers views of the Parthenon in the distance as well as sweeping views of the city. The room has been newly renovated and is tiled throughout with plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed and pullout sofa. There is a narrow balcony with glass railings as well as a large private patio area accessed through a sliding door. The bathroom is very large and well-appointed with a large glassed-in shower. We were impressed by the welcome bottle of wine on ice and fruit tray as well as the free stocked mini bar.

The room included a full hot breakfast which is served in the roof top restaurant. The breakfast buffet was amazing and included Greek specialties, North American foods and specialty coffees. The restaurant has plenty of seating as well as a great balcony.

From 4-7 there is a \"happy hour\" for suite guests in the mezzanine lounge that includes beer and wine and light snacks. Was a great way to wind down from the day!

I have stayed at Stanley several times since 2023. This is the first time I leave a negative review for the hotel because it's not the same good value hotel anymore.I was waiting 10 min to check in because the front desk person (Kostas) was telling jokes in German with another couple. They didn't offer any upgrade because there was no other room available even with VIP access. Across the street the Wyndham offer points for loyal travelers and it is much better value hotel.

The breakfast was the best we have ever had! The staff is incredible. Our only issue was that our Executive Lounge card had to be reset every day to access the lounge which was a little annoying. Also, there is no full body mirror and no plug in the bathroom for hair tools. Other than that, it was great! Also, water bottles are 3$ each. We had to ask maintenance for AC help and the room was still pretty hot, it only went down to 18 degrees Celsius.

We had stayed at this hotel previously and our experience was great. This time it looks like the hotel standards went down. It does not seem like a four star anymore. Room was not very clean, had a terrible view, shower was clogged and was very small. After a lot of complaints we were able to change our room to a better one. There were still a lot of broken things in the room and wallpaper was coming off etc. There was construction in the room beside us so there was a lot of noise throughout the day. Metro is just outside the hotel entrance so very convenient. I’m not sure if I will stay here again though.

Ideally located 2 mins from the Metro and 20 mins walk from the beautiful Acropolis.
Featuring a nicely designed rooftop bar and resteraunt with panoramic views; only The Wyndham Hotel impinging on the view to the Acropolis.
Food / drink was reasonably priced and had a great selection of dishes including Vegetarian choices; also an excellent choice of wines and cocktails. Nevertheless, even at quiet times, Service is 'unhurried'...
The Deluxe Room is / was barely adequate. I don't know what filters and lenses they used to 'big-up' my room and Shower-room.
The shower-room: Clean but barely functional. The corner shower cubicle was not as shown and as a barely 70cm × 70cm equilateral triangle; actually washing yourself is challenging. On more than one occasion I knocked the shower thermostat control to either freezing or scalding hot. If you weigh more than 70kg it will be dangerously tight for you.
The hotel itself has a shallow rooftop pool; sun lounger etc; a gym and decent lobby area. However, from day one, we were missing amenities such as barhrobes. On day 2 we were left with no towels but a complimentary damp cleaning cloth on the bed pillow.
It took 2 complaints including 1 in person, for us to finally be brought towels.
On a more positive note, the reception staff were pleasant and de-escalatory.
Be aware, works were taking place at the hotel during our visit; heavy banging and drilling; from about 645am... Just as well we were up at 7am each day.

Staff were helpful, breakfast nice, view from 9th floor amazing! The only bad thing was that there was a renovation starting at 9am… when some people still wanted to sleep. Also it was very noisy around the hotel (collecting rubbish glass at 1am).

I loved everything. I was told it was a bad area to live by my tour guide, but I loved the area and the view and my hotel room. The electricity was confusing and the floors weren’t fully clean and I saw like 3 black dots I had to swipe off my bed, but besides that the room had heating and a balcony and I enjoyed everything even the restaurant and bar and the pool is so beautiful

Negatives: The gym and sauna let it down and the roof top pool is quite small considering the size of the hotel. The breakfast is quite cheap and unhealthy

Positives: the location is excellent with public transport near by but also very walkable. The food was excellent for lunch and dinner. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Rooms are really nice and cleaned every day. Stunning views from the bar and poor area.

The pool on the rooftop has an amazing view of the Acropolis and of Athens in general. The hotel breakfast was plenty, although the spread is the same (American buffet). It is also within easy access to the metro and walking distance from spots like Monastiraki, Kolokotroni, etc. They also have a mini gym and sauna!

The rooftop pool and terrace with a full view of the Acropolis are absolutely stunning — this is definitely the hotel’s strongest feature. The location is also convenient.

However, the rooms did not match that same standard. The “double bed” was actually two single beds pushed together, which was uncomfortable because of the gap in the middle. The marble flooring felt cold and not very cozy. The biggest issue was the poor sound insulation — we could clearly hear noise from the corridor and outside, which made it difficult to sleep. There was also renovation work during our stay, and we were woken up by noise starting from 9am.

We also had a late check-in, and unfortunately the receptionist was not very welcoming, which didn’t create the best first impression.

The view is impressive, but overall the room comfort, noise level, and service did not fully meet our expectations

This is a place you stay for the amenities. The room wasn’t luxurious or anything special but the bed was comfortable and the view was nice. The breakfast was expansive and delicious, the rooftop restaurant/bar was a vibe, and we really enjoyed the lounge with free drinks and snacks as well as a few games, including pool. However, there was unmentioned construction noise, the sauna was closed, and the water was completely turned off for 6 hours one day. The location was roughish so just beware of that. It is convenient that the train is right outside.

The neighborhood is ugly and felt unsafe. It has nothing to do with the hotel itself but I wish I knew. One can take the metro to access the city center but if you are like me and want to walk, it’s 15 minutes walking trough en unwelcoming area

The rooms are small and really only comfortable for one person, although two can stay.

The staff were very friendly, especially the waitresses at the rooftop restaurant. They were the best!

The rooftop offers beautiful views of the acropolis and 360 views of the city.

Breakfast is also included and it is actually very good with a decent selection.

Overall, the rooms were less desirable for me, but the rooftop was a 10/10.

Amazing rooftop and pool with some of the best views of Athens. The room was more simple than expected and could need some improvements to meet 4 star hotel standards. The rooms was not soundproof, especially not out to the hallway. On Sunday morning before 9 am you could also hear loud construction work from the floor above.

The staff was really friendly and offerd great hospitality.

My mother stayed at The Stanley for 14 days and absolutely loved her entire experience. The staff took incredibly good care of her, everyone was kind, attentive, and always made her feel welcome and safe. The room was spotless, the hotel is beautiful, and the Acropolis view was truly breathtaking. All the amenities were great, and everything was well maintained throughout her stay. The Stanley is a great hotel to stay at while visiting Athens. Here are some detailed notes about the property.

Room:
-Stayed in a room with twin beds
-Bed was large and allowed us to both sleep comfortably (long enough for tall guests– I am 6-foot-2)
-Bedding and pillows were very comfortable
-In-room air conditioning was powerful and allowed us to sleep at a comfortable temperature–perfect for people who prefer to sleep cold
-Balcony was large and featured solid views of downtown Athens, the valley/surrounding mountains
-Curtains blocked most of the light, but if you are sensitive to light, bring an eye mask
-Other room features: mini-fridge, safe for valuables, coffee maker

Hotel/Amenities:
-Amazing rooftop pool with stunning views of the Acropolis, downtown Athens, and sea/mountains on a clear day
-Comfortable lounge chairs/beds at the pool
-Huge restaurant/bar with amazing views
-Elevators were a bit small and slow, so patience is sometimes required (also have stairs to all rooms if you prefer to walk)
-Friendly hotel staff and cleaning crews
-Relatively quiet rooms–did not hear neighbors, but the hallway can get a bit loud after 10 AM

Location:
-Hotel is located right next to the Metaxourgeio metro stop, which makes travel to major sites quick, easy, and affordable
-Felt safe walking around streets at night, even though many surrounding buildings/streets appear rundown
-Great bakery/coffee shop steps away from the hotel

Overall a good experience. Of the things that the hotel could control, they got mostly everything right. The staff were friendly and helpful in lots of ways, going beyond what was expected. The hotel internals were lovely and fresh and clean, the breakfast was a great spread, and the rooftop was pleasant enough.

BUT the external area was shocking. The neighbourhood really let the whole thing down unfortunately, drug users, brothels, constant police sirens, men washing in the fountain outside the hotel, graffitti everywhere and bombed out looking buildings, made for an extremely poor and unsafe feel in the area outside, walking within the area at night didn't feel possible. Somewhat disingenously, the pictures of the hotel do not show the view out the front, not only is the accroppolis partly obscured by the Wyndham hotel, but as I say, the buildings opposite are ramshackle.

I was so glad to find other parts of Athens that were well kept and had a warmer vibe, you just need to Scooter/Taxi to them.

The room is compact but comfortable. The highlight is definitely the rooftop pool and restaurant with a beautiful view of the Acropolis. You could also watch the sunset from here. There is an ATM within the hotel if you need cash. They do charge one night of the room rate if you book on the same day though and still charge for the full stay when you check in so it is cumbersome to get a refund for the one night charge.

Good central location, excellent facilities, roof top and lounge also a very comfortable bed.

Just a minor point, if you book room with Acropolis view at front of property expect traffic noise.

The room was fantastic. The hotel is very clean and nice. The breakfast is very good with lots of options. We also ate at the restaurant on the roof, and the food was very good. Definitely worth a stay here if you are traveling to Athens.

The rooms were clean. However there was a smell from the bathroom.
We did not hear any noise from the other rooms or the corridor but there was noise from the street outside.
The pool area was very nice and that’s what stood out including the views from up there, especially the Acropolis. The downside was that it was a bit cold to jump in the pool because of the month that we we went to. I chose this hotel because it stated that it had a heated pool.
