There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom. The pool and hot tub are closed and they only put this on the hotels site not on any of the booking sites like hotels.com so this was very disappointing.

I stayed at Sonesta in Burlington VT last week from 2/17/26-2/19/26 where I have previously stayed without issues but this time the entire experience was horrendous. I tried asking for the manager but he was never there and the worker I tried dealing with was beyond rude! My room had blood on the sheets, ants all around the stove, dead centipedes on the kitchen floor, bath towels had feces on them, the bathroom was extremely filthy covered in some feces plus hair, the pool was closed which was not disclosed prior, and breakfast consisted of only pancakes without any condiments and yogurt! Please assist me with this and if needed I have photos.

I was charged an early check-in fee, but the room wasn't cleaned at all, despite the fact that I checked in an hour later than expected. Two male maintenance workers worked on the bathtub for over an hour, not asking if it was okay, swearing, and not realizing that, as a female, I may not be concerned for my safety. When leaving, they asked that I check to see if the plumbing leaked. I wasn't able to because they locked the utility door. I then had to clean the bathtub before it could be used, as well as the floors, which were dirtied after they walked across them in their work boots. I didn't feel comfortable using the kitchen area, as there were visible crumbs on the floor, in the cabinets, and on the counters. Additionally, the microwave was broken. After sharing my concerns with the desk clerk, there was no remedy offered.

Not happy with the entire experience. When we checked in, we found out the Pool was Closed, which was extremely disappointing because it was actually the only reason we switch from the Air BNB we had perviously booked. The room it self was okay, but we immediately found a single sock and a winter hat, that was left from the last guest, which of course led us to believe the room had not been properly cleaned, The bathroom had a funky smell, and the tube had black mold around the edge. The kitchen cabinets were painted and had so many scratches all over them which just added to the worn and under serviced vibe. We had a fire place but the front desk told us we had to use the synthetic logs for purchase but they were out the only nights we were around and would have used it, adding to the disappointment. Which brings me to some safely concerns I had, there were huge icicles hanging off the roof eves, and when I say huge, one in particular I saw near the pool room, was so large it could have easily crushed a child if it broke lose and fell on someone, I recognized the danger and wouldn’t let my two kids get close to it, but because they’re large and kinda beautiful some kids and grown ups are naturally drawn to get close I saw a lot of evidence some of the icicles had broken and fell on the concrete pathways which was alarming that nobody was cleaning that up which was both a tripping hazard and a dangerous to anyone walking under They were not small chunks of ice.

The room was dingy, it definitely felt like it needed a good cleaning. One of the main reasons we booked was because of its capacity. We were traveling with 3 children and needed beds for each. The sofa was a pull-out bed, which was exactly what we needed. Problem was there was no blanket/comforter or pillow for the pull-out. I called the front desk as was asked if I really needed it. Then I was told he would call back in about 10 minutes because the linens were being washed. This was about 11 pm. I never heard from or saw that person again. I tried calling the front desk and someone from Expedia tried calling and there was ne response. On top of that the channels they advertised didn't work and what did work would break up every few minutes. The place was a dive and it needs work. Only bright spot was the Front Desk Manager the next morning being understanding about our complaints and needing to find better accomodations for the rest of our stay (yes, we left).

There were ants in the room, and looks like the entire Building 10 had this problem. The management reimbursed portion of the cost, though.
Swimming pool was out of service, too, Kids were a bit disappointed.
I stayed in this hotel last year, and seems breakfast was of better quality; this year there was smaller selection.

It was negative 8 degrees outside… we were forced to leave our house because of a sewage . I had stayed at this hotel many years ago and it was OK but this time was a nightmare. The first thing we noticed was at the door did not shut unless you slammed. Second, it’s smelled like weed, then we noticed that the room was dirty- crumbs all around stove and some old cheese in the fridge. No garbage bag in the can, many blood stains on carpet and bathroom floor was dirty. Frigid arctic air blowing in from two sides of room. We were so cold and our feet were numb. We had a toddler with us too. Gap around door of about 1/2 inch letting arctic air blow in! We couldn’t get our money back because we had booked through Orbitz so the hotel said they could do nothing about that. All I know is we will never go back there again.

This was our second stay at the Sonesta in Burlington, however this time was not nearly the same positive experience. The room was dirty upon arrival and as we arrived very late, there was nothing they could do. The couch was filthy and there was food and dirt in the cushions. There was food left in the cabinets, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, and even a dirty pan left inside the oven. The shower was filthy and the water wouldn't drain, and there were no extra linens for the pull out couch. Finally, the pool was out of order.

Upon arrival we noticed that room was not clean. There was hair in both bathrooms and around the sinks. The upstairs bed was missing sheets and all the tv’s were missing the remotes.

We called the front desk and they brought us sheets and had to call again for remotes. We ended up cleaning and disinfecting both bathrooms and kitchen so we didn’t have to call for the third time.

The ceiling fan in the living did not work and the light flickered and buzzed when you turned it on. We found old socks in the upstairs and other items from the last guest that were not picked up.

The room was ok , but not as clean as it could have been , there were some stains on the carpet and a lot of dust on the top of our headboard , etc . The pool didn’t work which is one of the reasons we chose the hotel . The person that I spoke to the day before we checked in and said that it was being worked on, and it might be fixed the next day but he couldn’t promise .
Upon check in the very very sweet girl that worked at the front desk said no, it’s not expected to be ready for a couple weeks.
It has been very icy in Vermont , walking to the room from our car was very slick , and some of the landings outside were glare ice . The girl at the front desk offered to give us some rock salt to take with us and then discovered she didn’t have any . I suggest contracting someone to sand the lots and walkways before someone gets hurt .
Tv was messed up, channels scrambled and not coming in. Girl at desk said they had recently switched her providers and there were issues .
Overall the bed was comfy and our stay wasn’t bad , but there are definite needs for better housekeeping and maintenance .
The girl at the desk whose name I don’t recall was so nice !

The room was dirty, the kitchen drawers were broken, and the power outlets were broken, which was a safety hazard. The carpet was torn. I stayed for five days, and housekeeping never cleaned the room, and the trash was overflowing. When it snowed, no one from the hotel cleared the sidewalks, which created a slip and fall hazard when going to breakfast. The laundry area was filthy and awful.

The receptionist was very attentive to our accommodation, but the rooms were dirty, the chairs were old and filthy, the table was wobbly, and the refrigerator shelf falls down when you open it. The pool is okay, but the hot tub has cold water instead of hot. Poor management; practically everything is falling apart. I need everything replaced. That's why I gave it this rating. I don't recommend staying there.

My only complaint was with the heating system. It's gas-fired and in a locked closet off the kitchenette. When it goes off and on, it is noisy, like any gas furnace. But it is not terrible. The bed was very comfortable, lots of hot water, the room was very clean, and nice, thick towels.

The bathroom had not been cleaned, the toilet was dirty. We registered three guests (myself and my two teenaged sons), but linens for the third guest were not provided. When we called to request linens (at 6pm), we were told all staff had left for the day and we would have to return to the front desk to get them ourselves. No one was at the front desk. Breakfast was an extreme minimalist take, with instant scrambled eggs, and a mix of other cheap carbs. You get what you pay for, I suppose.

The room had a lot of damage, and non-working lights. There is zero service. You carry your towels down to the check-in area to trade them for ,allegedly, clean ones. You empty your own trash. We were there two nights during a long road trip and decided to do laundry. The laundry room was FILTHY; two dirty washers, three dirty dryers, one out of order. Very dirty floor with a pile of moldy clothes in a corner. (Shut the door and left.) The outside wood supports and trim are rotting, and in some areas the rotting wood was just painted over. Bags of trash were near doors, and not picked up the entire time we were there. Pretty in a picture, neglected dump up close.

We were only there one night otherwise I would have left. We entered our room and there were stains all over the rug throughout the whole room. There was a cigarette burn in the ottoman. The shower did not drain. The light switches were difficult to find - not convenient. The appliances were rusted and old. Overall a nice stay. The layout of the property was really wierd. No privacy at all even though it has been designed for about 8 people.

What was a little disappointing was no extra blankets or anything at all in the hotel and you have to walk all the way to main desk to get anything. We didn't had shower gel or Shampoo refilled and realized after went inside for the bath and it delayed us by about an hour because someone had to go and get it and over the counter they couldn't find the shampoo or shower gel. No one to come and give you if anything is not there, you have to go all the way no matter what the time and with 2 small kids, that was very frustrating. Kitchen had very very limited stuff and nothing for about 8 people.

When we arrived the host said we didn’t have reservations, had to show proof. The room had a nice bed, kitchen floor had not been mopped. The shower had foul water standing in it. We were afraid to shower. We only spent one night. The breakfast was fair. The breakfast host as very helpful and pleasant. Would not stay there again.

worst hotel experience ever. The room upstairs from us had a loud party with a lot of people. Had to call front desk multiple times. Other rooms did, too. Cops came but the party didn't end. Puke on the sidewalk. Plates of food all over the stairs. Loud the WHOLE NIGHT. Even when most of the people left the last couple people were jumping around (been pong? wrestling?) all night. Those guests should have been kicked out! Hotel staff did not handle right/at all. Will never stay here again.

Classic Bait & Switch. Was not informed place under renovations until the sign at the desk. Horribly stained carpets, stained kitchen chairs, 1 bathroom door did not close, curtains torn, 1 broken, couch appeared broken, paint platter on doors, stairs up to unit under repair, bannister broken, coffee maker did not work, microwave blitzy. Icing on the cake was somehow the deadbolt locked behind us and we were locked out of the room our second night. Required breaking the deadbolt to get in to the room and access our belongings. The photos pictured are NOT ACCURATE.

We had issues with this property from start to finish

First, there was an issue with billing. Expedia noted that first payment was paid at time of booking. But the hotel insisted on charging us the full amount not accounting for our first payment. Another guest we met there said that they had the same issue

Second, the interior of the unit was not what was in the photos or as a described. We got the 2 bed loft. There were not separate rooms or doors on the bedrooms. It was completely open

The furniture and the carpets were stinky and dirty and the carpet was frayed. We put throw blankets on the couch before sitting on them

There were bugs walking on the counters and we found a wasp, earwigs and spiders on the beds and bathrooms

The exterior was in the process of renovation which I won’t complain about - though the price didn’t reflect the condition

Finally, there were guests that were partying all night , the police were called and they left empty alcohol bottles and meatballs around the sidewalks.

We paid almost $325 a night. This was not what was expected

The staff was pleasant though

I was already disappointed after checkin when we were charged $150 for our dogs for only two nights. The stay just went down from there. It was 68* in the room when we got there, but we like to sleep in a freezer, so we turned it down and made some dinner. This was not an easy feat though because we had a four person room with only silverware for about 2.5 people. There also wasn’t much in the way of gear in there, and what they had was dirty and gross to use.

When we went to bed, the temp had climbed to 69*. This was slightly concerning, but we hoped maybe it was from cooking.

The kids slept on the sofa bed. If you have more than one kid, please just get a room with two real beds. Mine are teens, so not small anymore, and the sofa bed was awful. They pretty much didn’t sleep for two nights.

In the morning, the temp was up to 70*. We talked to the lady at the front desk who offered to send maintenance, but we had the dogs in the room and were going to be out for a couple of hours, so we asked her not to.

The temp eventually hit 76*, but by that point, it was too late to move. We were trying to get packed to leave early the next morning.

On top of the broken AC, breakfast wasn’t great, and the room was falling apart. The kitchen sink didn’t drain, there was a dip in the bathtub that collected water from the previous person’s shower and never drained, the cabinets were dirty and falling apart, and the paint was chipping. The screen door was more holes than screen.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were not the best. The definitely have that kind of cheap and run down aspect, cutting corners and not very clean. Cobwebs on the ceiling in the kitchen, mold in the bathtub and the icing on the cake was the black mold on the ceiling. Instantly asked for a refund. Staff helped out with the refund and that went smoothly.

Our first room had plastic wrap over the smoke alarm. When I called the front desk he said he would bring a key right away. After we quickly packed everything back up, 2 more calls and 45 min, he finally arrived and moved us to a new room. The new room had stains on everything. The wall, the bed sheets, the floor, the couch. Not a pleasant experience at all. Did not feel comfortable or safe. When we checked out in the morning, there was nothing they could do because we booked with Expedia. Don’t really plan on staying at a sonesta property again.

Unit has many flaws. They are painting exterior, overspray on concrete, unit entry door, sidewalks, stairs, grass and plants. Rotten wood on many handrails. Coffee table in unit has huge crack on top, as does the dining table. Residue on bathtub. Bathtubs need slip strips! Hallway in office area has huge hole punched in it. Baseboard heater in unit is hanging off the wall. First floor bath light fixture is corroded. Pictures on Expedia are of some other property. I expect better from Sonesta!

The high cost didn’t reflect the expected value. External construction was going on and made the place look dilapidated. Paint cans, paint chips and rotted wood was exposed. The grassy areas had spray paint on them. No handicap access. Had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs. WIFI password was changed and we were not notified. My bill as messed up. With my stated pending charge of $760 was instead put in for $1,100. I called and was assured this would be corrected. Lastly, there was a trip hazard in our room. A lamp’s electrical cord was at knee level across the main walkway in our room. I unplugged the cord and reported it to the receptionist.

I needed to cook cook for a family reunion. I chose to stay here because of the cooking facilities and large fridge. Usually they have the badics, a cooking pot, a skillet and a strainer. Nope, we looked.
If you pay for a kitchen, please supply the basics. Thank you.

People were friendly, everything else was fine.

I liked that the rooms felt like little chalets and separated from multiple others. They weren’t noisy and good sized. The outside of the building needed some renovations & the landscaping needs fixing. Our room was pretty clean except the kitchen in it needed a bit more tidying up. The walls could use some painting too. Otherwise it was an overall good day. I enjoyed having breakfast as well

The room was absolutely amazing, but the condition of the room was not the best. There was stains all over the carpet the stairs had rips in the carpet. I don’t think it was worth the money that you pay for a two bedroom loft.

The desk and breakfast staff were all polite and friendly and professional, but the room and property are in bad shape. The room was disgusting. The kitchen was dirty (old spills down the cupboards, dirty silverware, someone’s food left in the microwave), the furniture was beat and tired, the place smelled like smoke and pine sol. The sheets and towels were clean and while the whole place needs a makeover in the worst way, the bathroom was clean enough to tolerate.
I don’t usually make reviews good or bad, but this place was awful due to the condition of the property in general and the cleanliness issues in the room. Wish I had read reviews before booking. Book with caution.

Kind of meh. Stopper in tub broken so I couldn't take a bath. Gym had poor setup with exercise machines facing AWAY from TV. In living room, TV waaay too close to couch. Just a vibe of a place needing updating.

The room was nice enough and spacious, but the place smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. And I was woken during the night by marijuana smoke filling my room. Also, there’s a big kitchen, but no utensils or plates or pots and pans.
